On a side note....every time someone on this board says “wheeeeeee!” All I can picture is that scene from Deliverance....so I would kindly ask for a different exclamatory noise so we don’t invoke any kind of self fulfilling activity with ANDI!
I guess ultimately I don’t mind the tweets. He’s a vocal cheerleader like half of this board. Nothing wrong with rooting for something you’re invested in.
I posted about this earlier. I wonder if he’s trolling us a little after people lit him up over the weekend. Too much coincidence
Is it me or did DVG just tweet out that he’s involved with M$PC? Is he trolling us now?
Indeed. Earlier in the morning it was a much more yawn worthy .0175.
Is ask really .027?
This is a good point. Who knows. In 6 months when management says:
“hey remember that tweet Darryl sent out back in February when the stock was tanking? Yeah, that was the day we locked up a $100 millon deal”
then we will look foolish....only time will tell....but I’ll happily accept looking very foolish at that point.
Yeah. I’d call ‘em and then come back and share your findings with the restless natives!
Specifically for ANDI?
Just found out this years bonus at work will take a 40% haircut from the last two....so I hope you’re right!
Could very well be. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard conflicting messages from the same organization. I work in just such a place!
Haha! I hope your schwab guy knows more than my schwab guy!
I went through account verification SSN and the voice verification thing and waited after all the menu options.
Some guy picked up for me.
Yeah. Possibly calling different call centers or something. I called the 800-435-4000 brokerage line.
I just called (mostly out of sheer boredom). The guy said he didn’t see anything pending on his end for ANDI
ticker change but he may not have been looking at whatever your guy was looking at. Who knows!
Hmm...interesting. I have Schwab maybe I’ll give them a call like around.
So there is a pending change queued up already for ANDI?
I’m of the same mentality. This stock hit its high the day my daughter was born. Talk about a euphoric day!
I just want the news to break while there are still a lot of eyes on this stock.
Hey! Another Darryl tweet.
Wow. Makes my lost gains seem small by comparison. You have nerves of steel sir.
Wow! I was being sarcastic...but who knows!
I’m not going to assume malicious intent. Maybe a bit tone deaf as he needs to be aware that he is representative of the face of the company and not just a “rah rah” shareholder.
Haha. Why? Are u close by?
Well, I’m just glad he’s taking some time off at the Florida strawberry festival. Maybe he’ll have a few high level meetings there and produce a some contracts. If I see a pic of him talking on a banana phone though....
To be totally honest, I actually think Mike is going about it the right way. The couple of fluffy PRs and resultant slow bleeds of the pps has probably confirmed his resolve to remain silent until real news hits. He’s much less likely to put out a PR (even with the filing of the name change in Wyoming) unless it’s big. He has stated as much in emails with some on this board.
Darryl may be more of a cheerleader like any big investor (including many here - self included). He’s just closer to the management team and more public. Has anyone tried contacting him privately?
Reminds me of that scene from Josey Wales - “those poor pilgrims from Kansas - don’t look too proud now, do they”
Good info. Thanks.
Even if they’re buying them back on the open market?
The only reason that they may be doing this is because Mike had talked about “working on something for the shareholders” back in December. This, coupled with his comments about not doing a reverse split might lead someone to believe that they would consider a buyback instead. Now, how they would do that and get funding for it etc is up for debate. The fact is, if they were planning on doing it, now (or 2 months ago) is the time vs when the price goes through the roof on material news....which theoretically might negate the need for a buyback in the first place.
Whoa. Clearly didn’t proofread my last sentence. Redundancy department of redundancy.

I’m not sure if there are specific MMs who specialize in this type of thing. I’ve always been confounded as to why a company might publicly announce a buyback before it had taken place because it would cost so much more as it would theoretically cost the company more.
Lots of speculation these past two months but the theory I prefer is that they’ve been quietly buying back shares while the price is very low. Ideally they’d retire the shares and and announce big news in a one-two punch of contracts and reduced AS. This would explain why they’ve been very quiet with material contracts while continuing to state that they are “on track” to release phones this year.
That’s initial filing. Go down to additional details. Changed today.
Just looking at some of the latest budget smartphones out there and came across this.

Maybe I missed it but is the consensus on the board that these are some variants of the upcoming Huawei Phones (P20 series)? The sections of the perimeter and the long and short buttons on the right side look exactly like the what’s in the leaked photos of the Huawei. I guess we’ll get better images when they reveal the phones in Paris on March 27th. I wonder if Mike or Darryl will be in Paris around that time? Could be a definitive tell if they are.
Looks like at least two different phones from that pic.
True, to a point. Often times though, developing/underserved markets get the latest tech infrastructure, especially if none had existed there before (as companies don’t want to have to expend capital on infrastructure updates in the near term so they put in the latest stuff if they decide to expand service to a given area). That’s why Haiti got the best 4G network money could buy after the earthquake in 2010 (with lots of foreign help of course). Also why 5G is being set up in smaller cities and rural towns around the US because large city centers already have fiber/high speed infrastructure and a very competitive market. Not to say they won’t be there too eventually (T-Mobile has already claimed New York as one of its initial 5G markets) , but rural will have less competition and be a better test bed to work out the kinks IMO.
Absolutely. Trust me...I live in a rural area in Michigan and I’m all over 5G. Can’t tell u how many times AT&T has had to re-run the copper wire up my driveway. All for my 12mps service.
Yeah. I know they’ve said it’s 4G but I see 5G as a no-brainer unless it’s just cost prohibitive for their target price point
Just adding to speculation here, but did anybody notice that the pic of the 2018 Ferrari F1 had Lenovo as a sponsor? Not exactly a lightweight in the smartphone business. Just food for thought.
