when that's going to be ?
Let's hope soon....
No I'm not overestimating the TGC cash burn, everyone can read that in the filings. The company made a loss of 1,6 million in 2015 (amount is about the same in 2014). So you see I was very conservative in my 1 million$ cash burn...
And let's not forget this line in the annual report:
"If the Company does not achieve profitable operations after the planned drill program at PEL 444, the Company will need additional financing to continue to develop its oil and gas exploration and evaluation assets and to continue its operations."
The longer you wait, the less you can drill, that looks very obvious to me.
It costs money to wait it out. Like I said, with TGC's cash burn they will likely end the year with not much more then 1 million$
That doesn't leave much to drill in 2017 so it doesn't make sense.
The fastest path to income is to hit oil, they have the money now so why not do it after they've updated their model ?
Same goes for your argument to find a buyer for their interest. Why sell now when you can get multiples if you drill one more well and hit oil ? Especially when you have the money to drill the well, so again it doesn't make sense.
Questions I have:
With the data that they now have from their dry well. If they update their model with that data can they then fully distinghuish between water and oil in geological structures or not ?
Can this model then also be applied to PEL 112 ?
I doubt that it will take years for any new action. Both need income then what faster way is there then to drill a successfull well and sell oil.
TGC has a reasonably high cash burn, the longer they wait the less money they have to drill.
IMHO they should update their model immediately with the info from this drill and get drilling again in january now that the rig is still there. There is no incentive NOT to do this....so get going guys !
They are now good for another 5 years, here is the list of following deadlines:
PEL 112
Geological and geophysical studies
January 10, 2016
PEL 112
Acquire 50 square kilometers – 3D seismic
January 10, 2017
PEL 112
Geological and geophysical studies
January 10, 2018
PEL 112
Drill one well
January 10, 2019
Henry Aldorf, CEO of Terra Nova, stated, "Although there were no hydrocarbon shows, the well proved the existence of the Mid-Birkhead channel system in PEL 444.These results will be included to improve our exploration model. The experience in the Cooper Eromanga basin has shown both wet and Hydrocarbon filled channels can exist in close proximity to each other. We have plans, once this model is updated, to review other targets in the existing 3D covered area, which is only a fraction of PEL 444.
Continue drilling might be possible if it only takes a few days/weeks to update their model (does anyone have any idea how long this could take ?)...Drilling after newyear would be fine by me !
Sadly HENC's PR didn't say anything concrete, at least TGC gave us a bit of info on what to expect.
I would like to know (just like anyone else here) how fast they will update their model with the info of the dry well and when they will drill again.
Now that money is still available I would like to see them announce drilling again as soon as possible...TGC's cash burn is a problem, the longer they wait the less money there is for drilling. I don't think Holloman will walk since they are already heavily invested.
I will wait and see what happens as well. 1 dry hole on 3500 square kilometers doesn't mean there is nothing to be found on the whole property.
I would like to see drilling renewed in 2016 though before they burn through most of their cash. I hope management also acknowledges that and that we shift a gear higher...
The northern part is also that part that will now be relinquished with the renewal of the 5year license.
Looks like it's not going to be a merry Christmas after all this year.
This drilling campaign looks to have ended, back to updating the seismic with the data from this well. I don't think this is the end since the PEL's are huge and 1 dry hole on each PEL is not conclusive.
TGC still has the money to drill more wells and I'm sure Holloman won't give up as well.
The question is how long it's going to take for the next drilling campaign to come around.
I sure would get like to get drilling again in a few months.
Very disappointed with the dry hole but what next ?
The PR stated they will rework the seismic with the data from this well and retry on PEL444.
Given how slow the company moves we will be lucky to see the next spudding happen in 2016.
I guess the next 2 wells that were supposed to be drilled after Baikal1 will now be scrapped.
My reasoning as well, more chance of good news then bad
So we wait, here's hoping for some big news
Compare crude prices then and now, that should tell you all that's needed. Oil sentiment is very negative and will have impact on the stocks. Don't expect a parabolic rise, momentum is against us.
Decent volume but not much movement in both stocks. Wonder how high they can go in todays oil markets...opec's decision on friday doesn't help
previous PR's said 10/11 days so that means we should hear something in the week of december 14th
Hoping for some good news next week, drilling seems to go faster then expected
Great stuff so we should hear something next week if it's a hit or not !
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/opec-hikes-production-quota-to-315-million-barrels-a-day-reuters-2015-12-04-991123
And down the price of crude goes...will be interesting to see how the price settles at the end of the day.
I hope to see that drilling PR on monday saying they've started, then it's an anxious 10/11 days waiting for the result...
I'm tired as well to read the same discussion over and over.
It's in the past people so give it a rest, the horse is very dead so stop beating it...
Only thing that matters now is drilling and hitting oil so everyone will make money.
Looking at the dates of the fotos this was done last week. Looking forward to some drilling next week !
good stuff, looks like we might get drilling next week...
they said in previous PR's it would take 10 to 11 days to reach full depth.
probably first week of december
2 low cost (traditional non-shale) onshore oil plays with enormous potential - drilling starts in december !
Terra Nova Energy (TGC ticker on Canadian Venture, TNVMF on OTC):
Focused on exploring for and developing low cost, high margin oil in Australia's Cooper Basin.
Short info sheet:
- cost per barrel is 23-28$
- Brent oil now sells for around 50$ a barrel
- the company receives an extra 10%-15% premium above the Brent market price
- to be proven reserves in the upcoming drilling campaign of around 92.7 million barrels of oil
- company owns 20% of the oil properties
- drilling starts in december
- only 6% of the total acreage has been shot with 3d seismic, that leaves still 93% unexplored. Can you imagine what the other 93% might hold if 6% of their acreage already shows a possible 92.7 million barrels !!!
This results in a possible share price of around 6$ when the reserves are proven after the drilling campaign ends (The stock now trades around 0,08$)! Remember, this is only for their explored 6% acreage, the potential upside here is still much higher !
Management did a PP and they themselves raised money for the company earlier this year so they also have a lot of skin in the game !
The company trades on the Canadian Venture exchange but also on the OTC (TNVMF). I would advise to buy on the Venture since volume there is always much higher then on the OTC, the OTC is very thinly traded so it's difficult to get in/out.
I am quite confident oil will be struck. The companies have used new tools available in the industry like the virtual drilling software of Rex international, see http://www.rexih.com/pdf/02-RVD1.pdf
It's software has a much higher accuracy rate then using conventional methods to detect oil. (it's own tests give it a 100% accuracy rate). The company has spent more then a year analyzing their seismic data together with Rex to derisk their drilling campaign and to make sure they hit it right at the first try.
If the first well is a success then at least 2 more wells will be drilled immediately to take advantage of the oil rig and boots on the ground already there.
Company Share Structure:

7.4 Million Options

Holloman Energy (HENC ticker on OTC):
Partner to Terra Nova Energy on it's oil properties, HENC owns around 49% of the properties. Of course the same items in the info sheet as stated above also apply here, the only difference is that HENC owns a bigger cut of the acreage. Management is from Holloman Corporation in Houston and are also the largest shareholders (60 % - Holloman Value Holdings), they also provide all financing and have a lot riding on this.
Company Share Structure:
112.6 million shares fully diluted
This results in a possible share price of around 12$ when the reserves are proven after the drilling campaign ends (The stock now trades around 0,25$) ! Remember, this is only for their explored 6% acreage, the potential upside here is still much higher !

87.5 Million Shares
7.4 Million Options
1.9 Million Warrants
= 96.8 Million fully diluted

Remember, this is only for their explored 6% acreage, the potential upside here is still much higher !

success rates on the western flank (where are 2 licenses sit) are over 50%.
Factor in using the latest technology with Rex's Virtual Drilling software and your chances become bigger again, see that data sheet in my previous post, this software is fantastic stuff. It has a 100% success rate in it's own drilling tests.
