completly agree...its pathetic and dangerous!
the pretext for war: WMD. Cheney quoted that "there was no doubt that Iraq had WMD" before the war. and we went to find the WMD but there was none. The iraqi's didnt even have enough infrastructure to put up a proper fight, hence the easy victory. Then when there was no WMD we ended up "liberating" the Iraqi people, for e.g. in Najaf they are free to die as they wish.
Who would've thought we'd find oil there...at least good ol Haliburton made some money.
The lives that were lost were worth it huh?
well researched, thank you :)
that graph which is supposed to support your article compares Bush and Gore, not Bush and Kerry. Isnt that a little outdated? does not look genuine to me, coz every other poll out there is implying a very close call between Bush and Kerry, with Kerry having only a minor lead over Bush.
PLease drop by and take this survery on my board. Thanks

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL...
you got that Fox news thing right...man what a freakin propoganda machine...they dont even do their republican biasing in a discrete manner.
and they call themselves "fair and balanced"
Hey Dallas, how ya doing !!!???
I agree that Kerry may not be the best presidential candidate we've had, but in my mind there's no doubt that Bush is the worst.
Well if bush comes to power the draft WILL probably be active, there's other countries out there that have oil, and I'm sure "intelligence" reports will show that they have "WMD" or something like that.
Like true americans,we should get ready to sacrifice our lives for oil.
I completely agree!
thanks!
I'm with you on the Haliburton issue, as you said there's 2 sides to everything. I can see your stand on Haliburton, and do not disagree, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there.
But as for the Iraq issue, I read through what you sent me. The CORE of his reasoning is the same: Iraq has WMD's. And I still have the same concern: there were no WMD's and innocent lives were lost on both sides. Why? are they Deliberatly devious or ignorantly incompetent?
I wish, as much as the next person that all this were true, that in someway the promises made were fulfilled. But unfortunately that has not been the case.
Kerry never said that every other veteran committed war crimes. He only said there were war crimes, as in any war. If 80% of the soldiers didnt commit war crimes, only 20% did, then why the big fuss? And his rebellion was focused on more than jsut war crimes, it was also focused on the fact that we failed, and lives were being lost.
DOn't get me wrong...I aint a pro-one anti-another, I'm only trying to make some logical sense.
You're right..although:
"Hussein's regime had the potential to produce "nuclear" weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Key word is "potential"
According to the reasons cited BEFORE the war Bush was SURE that Saddam HAD WMD's. I'm only going by his statements, the fact that he said we're going in to take out the WMD's can be easily verified by digging up news reports from that time. That was supposably the whole basis of the war - Saddam wasn't jsut a bad guy with a pistol, he was a bad guy IN POSESSION of WMD's. But then recently they admitted that it was a "mistake". So whoever lost their sons and daugthers and other family members, well its too bad coz they died because of a mistake? I mean come on if you work for in the corporate sector, in a responsible position such as VP etc, one mistake and you're fired. But it's ok to make mistakes when young innocent lives are involved?
They have been awarded such contracts since they became involved with the government back in the 1940's during WWII.
Ok well I'll take your word for this, but why was there a news PR before we even entered Baghdad that these contracts had been awarded? I mean did someone know the future, that we would win?
whatever "job" Clinton did in office, he got it right! LOL
interesting. Well the Clinton administration did a good job, as did the Reagan's, but Clinton was the best!!!!!
OTC market was weird today, all major % gainers had the weirdest charts! ARSK, AXGR, NXIA

COMMENTS APPRECIATED ON THIS: I personally am skeptical of most politicians, as I am of Bush or Kerry. But I have one choice to make and I will say this: Bush's reasons for going into Iraq revolved around WMD and Saddam being a brutal dictator:
There were no WMD's and Saddam was a brutal dictator throoughout the 80's and 90's when he was our ally and Bush senior was VP in an administration that was buddy buddy with Saddam. We didnt attack him then. Also, N. Korea dictator posesses Nukes and openly announced that he is ready to take on the US with nukes. We aren't going after him. What does Saddam have that N Korea does not? Lemme think...it isnt the WMD coz there are none, Couldnt be the terrorist thing coz no operational ties have been proved.
That leaves oil, since the Bush family is already in the oil fortunes business, and VP Dick Cheney's Haliburton was awarded billions of dollars in contracts.

But a some thought brought me to this:
