Truthfully, I know nothing about the composition of this strut, but our alloys have a yield strength far superior to conventional steels and comparable to the lower end of maraging steel (1.5+ GPa). I would suspect that the unique elastic properties of BMG may render it a good structural material for applications experiencing extremely high levels of turbulence and vibration (rocket parts), while corrosion resistance should also make it a good candidate for low-temperature fuel system components.
Maraging steel has a rich history of use in rocket parts. It has been a tried and true material for decades. These parts would be at the high end of the maraging scale for strength. So, LQMT would not be a good choice. Also,I have never heard of a maraging steel failing due to corrosion. These parts are topically internal and can easily be coated to prevent corrosion. I don't see LQMT being used for rocket parts, too much risk with an unproven metal that is weaker than the current solution.
Sad but true summary.
For those who are being wooed by the pumpers on this board, here are some tips.
This stock is very risky and has a real shot at filing chapter 11 in the next 24 months. The pumpers make it sound like it is not if, but when this stock will shoot to the moon. This is not true, they have no idea. "Anything is possible", they will tell you. I guess taken to the extreme this is true, but I am quiet certain the sun will rise in the East tomorrow.
If anything is possible, then bankruptcy is possible, $0.01/sh is possible, more dilution is possible, corruption and a SEC investigation is possible.
Feel free to take the risk, but know the risk and don't listen to the hype. It is extremely unlikely this stock goes above $0.30/sh this year. There were predictions we would be over $0.30/sh this month and they were wrong.
My PSA for today.
Back in Stock.
MA-6
I don't think BMG would be strong enough for this part. Admittedly I know very little about the failed strut, but my guess is, it is made from maraging steel. This steel is stronger than any of the current LQMT formulations.
I am curious about this strut. Do you know what is was made of?
I think MA is fibbing. Knifecenter clearly had the knife listed as Pre-order status 2 days after I received my knife. This is a clear status description and could be used. MA shut knifecenter down for some other reason?
Who said the knives were discontinued? I contacted MA, and they said I can purchase the knife directly through them. They still have stock.
It was listed as discontinued on the Knifecenter website. Now, I can't find a listing for it at all.
Now that was funny... I can log off now.
I ordered my knife from Knifecenter on June 25th and received it June 27th. I received a number knife # 251. I started posting pickers of the knife that weekend and claiming the knife could not have been sent back to LQMT for the rework. By Tuesday June 30 the knife center change the status of the knife from available to pre-order. It was a few days after this that it moved to Discontinued status. Why would to put it on discontinued and not back-ordered? Which is what they are claiming it is.
It would seem that someone at knife center got a call after I started posting images of the knife. I am not sure you'll see the knife available from knifecenter again and I am sure they had to return all their stock. This is why it is out of stock not because all the knives were sold. Of course, I have no proof of this, but I believe it to be a valid argument.

LQMT was at $0.16/sh on Jan 13 when the MA contract was announced. The knives are now shipping and stock closed at $0.1318/sh and this on an up day. I am not sure we can afford to get another contract.
That is the same bag my knife came in, with the same instructions. I also, don't care for the fancy packaging, but it really doesn't matter what i care about. What matters is selling this knife and I have never seen a knife over $100 come in a plastic bag. I am not impressed with MA's marketing ability.
As for the delays and missteps by RSM. I am really glad we didn't start with a high volume medical device.
I didn't get the knife for the box and since I got one of the first knives, maybe boxes weren't ready. I also order the MA-2 for $30 and it came in a box. The MA-2 is an incredible value at $30.
I would like hear if your knife is delivered in a box. Did you get one of the first 50? Mine is #251.
I will also be curious to hear what packaging the knife comes in from MA. My knife came in a $0.02 Ziplock bag. Not impressed.
I paid no shipping or tax on my knife and received it from knifecenter on June 27th. Since, I received my knife and posted some photos, knifecenter has put the knife on Pre-order status. I guess some people on the inside read iHub.
I've been opening Champagne bottles with my knife.

That has not been my experience in the past. Medtronic, St. Jude and Boston Scientific do not bring Injection Molding in house. They do not consider it their core competency. The go to specialized medical molding houses for these parts. Since, LQMT is new technology they would be even more adverse to bring this in house.
Totally agree. This is a welcome surprise.
I just question what Steipp's plan is for medical. It would seem he has no plan to do this in house.
I am retracting my earlier statement that the knife is defective. That was a bad choice of words on my part.
The knife functions as expected, but there are areas where the knife is not polished. I believe this is what MA wanted LQMT to fix. You can look at the link below for some more pictures of the knife and the polish issues. Either the polish areas where not clearly spelled out or RSM missed it.
For the record I an not complaining about the knife. I am glad to have it and hopefully I will get some photos of the MA direct knife for comparison. I understand this contract will not budge the stock price, but hopefully it will force LMQT to work the bugs out at RSM. For me it is a puzzle to solve and since Steipp won't answer these questions on a CC. I'll get them myself.
This is where I bought my knife.
Knifecenter-MA-6
My point is production won't come out of RSM office unless they have the ISO 13485. If LQMT does not pursue this cert one must assume medical contracts will be made elsewhere.
Those are proto-type parts not production.
The links are still available go look in my previous posts.
ISO 9001 has nothing to do with medical. You need the ISO 13485 certification to produce medical parts. I have heard nothing from Steipp on this. I don't think they are pursuing it.
There was a defective shipment. I have the defective knife. Go back through my post and look at pictures of it.
I believe I have the flawed knife. I received my knife last Saturday from knifecenter.com. I don't think there is anyway they could have had the reworked parts to knifecneter this quick, and why would I receive my knife before people who ordered directly from MA.
This would also point to knifecenter having their knives assembled and shipped from LQMT directly. Why would MA ship bad knives to knifecenter?
I am still doing my review of the knife and will post a summary at some point, but so far I would say the screw up is on LQMT side.
For those wondering if a medical device could come out of the RSM office. No production for medical will happen until they have ISO 13485 certification.
Ask Steipp how close they are to this cert. Don't hold your breath
I bought and have my knife. Anyone else have theirs?
Looks like July 1st will come and go and we aren't even at $0.15/sh. Very unlikely we see $0.40/sh this year.

Yep, you are correct. Those are renderings. I should've noticed that. I would still like to see some pictures of other MA-6's.
Where is watts these days?
Miltner has the MA-6 front and center on there web page. I noticed the new picture has the knife looking mostly silver. My knife has the titanium grey color with some polished areas. Would love to see some pictures from anyone else who bought the knife.

Here is a link to another photo. I will be comparing the MA-6 to the MA-2 and will share my findings on drop box. If you want access to the folder you will need to send me and email address via private message. I won't share anyone's email.
This new photo shows the polished side of the MA-6. The previous photo showed the non-polished side. You can see the knife was hand polished and did not come out of the mold this way. That is a disappointment for me. Having a polished part out of the mold would be a big benefit.
MA-6 vs MA-2
Read my posts from yesterday and today. I believe we can find out what the issue with the MA-6 is if we work together. I received my knife on Saturday.
Here is a quick picture of the MA-6 I received on Sat.
MA-6
I think I may have been the first to receive the MA-6. Since, I received mine early from the knife center, my guess is I have a knife that did not go back for rework at LQMT. I'll be taking a close look to see what flaws I find and when the orders from MA ship we should be able to determine what work was done.
Has anyone else received their knife. I wasn't going to buy one, but someone posted the knifecenter link and they were in stock and free shipping. I got #251 for $260.
The clip knife side weights 44g
The guard side weights 33g.
I know have a MA-6 and MA-2. I will do a comparison and write up on both knives. I can send it to

I don't have access to the site at this time. Who is the administrator? I heard it was Annex. I am busy at work, but may have it completed after the 4th.
Is there a recycling program? You can't just regrind this stuff and throw it back in the hopper. I was unaware that Materion was buying back the scrap. If they do I would guess it is at 1/2 price, or less.
I think the cost is $11.40 for 80 usable grams, plus machine time, plus some labor.
For the record. The Apple Lightning connector is dead. The latest Macbook shipped with USB type C. Read up on USB 3.1 Type C. This connector will rule the world in a couple years. The type C with PD can delivery 100 watts of power. The lighting connecter cannot. You can go back and read my previous post on this, but trust me this is connector is a big deal. 100 watts, 10 Gbps, + video all in one cable. Huge possibilities here.
It would be great to get Liquid Metal in this connector. I hope Paul is working on it. It is a long shot at best, though.
All of the materials shown are carbon fiber.
1. Carbon Fiber Plate
2. Roll of carbon fiber
3. Woven Carbon fiber tube.
4. Carbon fiber fabric.
Why would you have a roll of metal wire in this picture? Which one of these does no belong?
I see the photo of metal woven wire next to the carbon fibre.
I don't believe that is woven wire. It is woven carbon fiber used to make tubes. But, thanks for the link. I didn't know Engel was in this market.
Looks like Engel is branching out a bit, but I believe its highly unlikely they pursue a sheet machine anytime soon.

I don't take my directions ques from management. I prefer points plotted on a graph. A graph you spend a lot of time analyzing. My gut tells me we are not at our inflection, but would be happy to be wrong.
BTW. I have ordered a MA-2 for $40. The MA-6 was too rich for my blood. If anyone would like me to do some non-destructive testing to compare the 2, feel free to send me a MA-6 on loan. Doubtful anyone would trust me with their knife, but worth a try. If Stock price hits $0.30, I will buy my own and post results.
Looks like they have finally figured out how to 3D print Ohio class submarine hulls from LM. This could be the inflection point I've been waiting for. I can promise you we won't hit $0.16 today, but maybe we are pointed in the right direction now.
