It's a shame that not everyone remembers these jerks were convicted felons for what they did for and with Nixon:
Media hosted Watergate convicts without revealing their roles in the scandal
Amid the extensive media coverage of the revelation that former FBI official W. Mark Felt was the secret Watergate source known as Deep Throat, Charles W. Colson and G. Gordon Liddy -- former Nixon aides who served prison sentences for their involvement in the Watergate scandal -- appeared on numerous network and cable news programs, where they disparaged Felt as unethical, dishonorable, "hypocritical," and "not a hero."
But several hosts and reporters who interviewed Colson and Liddy failed to disclose Colson's and Liddy's roles in the scandal and their resulting convictions.
Both Colson and Liddy were convicted for their involvement in the Nixon White House's campaign of "dirty tricks," which Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncovered with help of information from Felt. Colson, special counsel to President Richard Nixon from 1970 to 1973, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice for his role in the burglary of the office of Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist, one of the many crimes linked to the Nixon administration during the Watergate investigations. (Ellsberg was responsible for leaking the Pentagon Papers to Congress and the media.) Colson subsequently served seven months in prison in 1974.
Liddy, a former FBI agent, helped plan the burglary of the Democratic National Convention headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington while on the payroll of President Nixon's 1972 re-election campaign. He was ultimately convicted for his role in the break-in, as well as for conspiracy in the Ellsberg case and for contempt of court. He served 4 1/2 years in prison.
I actually enjoyed the whole thing. So did my wife. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of renting it again this weekend.

Everything is great on my end. I'll have to admit, even without shares in this, it is fascinating watching it unfold and reading this board.
You just know there are two camps behind the scenes here. One camp wants to do what is right and watch the most fantastic short squeeze in history happen.
The other camp wants to do everything they can to screw the little retail investor and do it without going to jail.
*blush* Thank you.
Yes, it's fairly obvious that what has happened cannot be reversed without destroying the integrity of NASDAQ.
If I screw up a buy order, and the MM or floor specialist acts on it, it's just my plain old stupidity or bad luck.
Now the owners of this company have run into premeditated stupidity or bad luck. Guess what... they're no different from you and I.
One more thought. I'm sure Ameritrade and everyone else involved is wanting to make DARN SURE that the actions they eventually take are not something that will eventually come back and bite them in the arse.
They're saying, "Here's what we'er faced with, what is the proper, legal, and correct thing to do?"
And a bunch of suits are shrugging their shoulders and saying, "I don't know yet, but don't give away the farm until we figure it out."
Just give them the dividend shares, let them sell them, and proceed to the next problem, eh?
Yeah, Jim, I had to cancel my lawn bowling trip because of this and I'm pissed!!
I'm not holding any shares of this stock, but it seems to me that eventually the holders of the forward-split shares will have to have their shares delivered and cleared for selling and actually having the proceeds of that sell to use as they wish, or everyone involved has acted in a manner that has brought discredit to the NASDAQ.
Ameritrade, DTCC, and everyone else can dance around this and investigate and try to figure out what to do, but eventually that's what has got to happen or the NASDAQ will start looking like Ken Lay.
It's done. The card has been layed and played. Sorry they screwed up on the forward split ex-dates, but it's a done deal and now someone has got to cover the shares awarded in the dividend.
But can you just imagine the behind-the-scenes scrambling going on right now? Good grief, I'll bet there are some people at NASD that stayed there all night.
Funniest pic I've seen in ages:
This whole GLUV thing is going to be fun to watch tomorrow. The little individual investors have the company and the transfer agent by the short hairs, but you can almost bet NASDAQ will come up with a way for them to wiggle out of it.
Doc, my spouse told me that she read on another board that Ameritrade is actually calling account holders & telling them that it is a mistake and to ignore it.
Her account balance at FreeTrade was up in the billions, too. Had to print it out though, just for fun.
Hey, that's downright offensive! You owe me an apology.
Blueberry cake, please.
NOT GUILTY, YOUR HONOR! If that would happen more often, both here and abroad, rapists might just think twice about the consequences of their actions.
I'm glad she didn't kill them. I'm just laughing constantly about where she DID shoot them. What perfect justice.
Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so ticked-off when two thugs raped her 18-year-old granddaughter that she tracked the unsuspecting ex-cons down - - and shot off their testicles.
The old lady spent a week hunting those men down -- and when she found them, she took revenge on them in her own special way, said Melbournepolice investigator Evan Delp. Then she took a taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be:
'Those bastards will never rape anybody again, by God.' Cops say convicted rapist and robber Davis Furth, 33, lost both his penis and his testicles when outraged Ava opened fire with a 9-mm pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison cellmate Stanley Thomas, 29, were holed up.
The wrinkled avenger also blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but doctors managed to save his mangled penis, police said. The one guy, Thomas, didn't lose his manhood, but the doctor I talked to said he won't be using it the way he used to, Detective Delp told reporters. Both men are still in pretty bad shape, but I think they're just happy to be alive after what they've been through.
The Rambo Granny swung into action August 21 after her granddaughter Debbie was carjacked and raped in broad daylight by two knife-wielding creeps in a section of town bordering on skid row. "When I saw the look on my Debbie's face that night in the hospital, I decided I was going to go out and get those bastards myself 'cause I figured the Law would go easy on them," recalled the retired library worker. "And I wasn't scared of them, either-- because I've got me a gun and I've been shootin' all my life. And I wasn't dumb enough to turn it in when the law changed about owning one."
So, using a police artist's sketch of the suspects and Debbie's description of the sickos', tough-as-nails Ava spent seven days prowling the wino-infested neighborhood where the crime took place till she spotted the ill fated rapists entering their flophouse hotel.
I knew it was them the minute I saw 'em, but I shot a picture of 'em anyway and took it back to Debbie and she said sure as hell, it was them, the oldster recalled.
So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door and the minute the big one, Furth, opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs, right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know.
Then I went in and shot the other one as he backed up pleading to me to spare him. Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in.
Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny. What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison, Det. Delp said, especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for sainthood and a medal.

DELL !! I HATE THEM I HATE THEM!! Against my better judgement, I ordered a 19" LCD TV from them last Monday, and they shipped it on Tuesday.
On Wednesday they took $848.00 out of my checking account via the debit card I used to pay for the transaction.
Then on Thursday they had UPS return the TV to the because there was some question about whether or not the billing address on the card and the shipping address were the same!!!! Of course they're the same, I specifically typed that info into the web site when I ordered the TV !!!!!

Wow. Thanks to everyone for the info re: GM and their health care costs. It's hard to imagine GM declaring bankruptcy, but it certainly looks like it could happen.

They are indeed. And who is getting all the money? Doctors, hospitals, and DME mfgrs are all poor-mouthing these days.
Yeah, they're flooding the market alright, it's just with a mineral that is soft, brown, and stinks to high heaven.
