No I didn't see the Clarke hearing and suppose the Repubs worked him over.
I have spent some years in my career working intelligence. Now it was criminal intelligence and not with the CIA and from the suppositions made from the Clarke allegations my feeling is he is trying to push the blame elsewhere when in my estimation 911 was impossible to have been prevented unless and only unless one of the suicide members had a change of heart and gave the information to authorities. If you sat down today and tried to imagine every possible scenario whereby radicals could cause catastropic death and mayhem I'm sure you could conjure up so many possibilities that the recipients of your lists would say it's not safe anymore to get out of one's basement. Everyone stay at home and dig bomb shelters again.
Unfortunately Clarke never was able to do more than just that of conjuring up possibilities. No one dreamed of the Bin Laden's plans but the bad guys, and not all of them knew they were going to their deaths either.
Liars, no Clinton won that prize for ever.
In edit: oh yeah wasn't lying under oath called Perjury?
"Dr. Rice faced the toughest early questioning from Richard Ben-Veniste, a Democratic commission member. "
Amazing why the Democratic commission members strongly attacked Dr. Rice. Could it be oh no it couldn't be politics working it's nasty little head out of a rat hole AGAIN could it?
Oh wasn't Clinton given the opportunity to get Bin Laden oh yeah but that's different isn't it?
"Former counterterrorism officials said at least half a dozen have left the White House Office for Combating Terrorism or related agencies in frustration in the 2 1/2 years since the attacks."
Could be that they should have been fired for their pitiful performance prior to 9/11.
Welles,
Find a hole and crawl in it.
"
Bob Kerry,LOL! He looks foolish."
Wrong he looks like an ass!
Condi Rice has made him look that way and she is impressive for sure.
Sold my Ipix Long shares way too soon I see. I put out a heads-up on it AH last night. and... voila.
Satellite Radio's update:
17:10 ET Sirius Satellite does not dispel rumor of takeover on CNBC interview, says "who wouldn't be interested in us" (SIRI) 4.02 +0.13: -- Update -- Stock trades up 1% in after hours.
07:31 ET XM Satellite announces Saab to offer XM Radio (XMSR) 29.86: ...
IPIX running AH
Looks like it's a feeding frenzy by the auto makers all adding either Siri or Xmsr radio to their new models. Both stocks up so I would guess Siri will have the best percentage gains for the near term even though XM has the most subscribers. eom
Byron Wien (longtime bear) became bullish sometime ago. Yesterday John Murphy said that he felt the recent correction was about over.
Now all we need is green and Iraq problems seem to be dominating the markets.
SIRI strong premarket at 4.27.
This stock sold for close to $70.00 in March 2000.
Can it go to $5.00 now ? that's what I'm betting on with a small pickup load from 3.00.

***MH***,

Yeah but stkl is great for the pocketbook.
The stock we think is most likely to attract attention on this news is SunOpta Inc (STKL 10.15 -0.14), which happened to be profiled in IBD yesterday. According to the IBD article, SunOpta's clients include the two largest soy milk companies: DF and HAIN. Co expected to grow earnings 61% this yr and 38% next yr. Mkt-cap $535 mln, float 32 mln, short-interest 9%.
MH,
Did you check out that article from briefing on Soy?
Very Interesting re: prostate cancer
Moon
14:12 ET Soy Milk Companies on the Radar Screen : The Washington Times reports that a research team from Colorado State University and two other universities found that soy products may stave off baldness, prostate cancer, and even improve troubled skin. The article points to a molecule called equol, which is created in the intestine when soy is digested. A member of the research team said: "These findings are of immense critical importance because blocking the action of the potent androgen D.H.T. has been one of the holy grails of the pharmaceutical industry as a strategy for treating prostate cancer and related disease." Researchers are excited because equol has no side effects, unlike powerful drugs that prevent D.H.T. from being made in the body. While the data mentioned in the article is very early-stage, some stocks that may benefit from positive headlines if this story gains greater prominence include BG, DF, STKL, and HAIN, and to a lesser extent WFMI and UNFI... Marketmaven,
" phony numbers like the "jobs" report and the fake PPI? "
The problem is most of the world doesn't have inside information as you may have that the numbers are bogus so we believe the government numbers and buy buy buy.
It's only a few "more knowledgeable " traders like yourself who seem to have better sources for those numbers. Please share the "real" numbers with the rest of us poor slobs.

Bought xmsr @ 29.80.

I'm impressed by the quality and the selection on that system.
Sold my siri for a nice gain earlier today. any weakness on that one would get me back in also.

Amd bothers Intc more like a mosquito bite than a headache.
Is Fleck still bearish as ever? He is so much of a perma bear I stopped paying attention to him. However he is a nice guy but he has taken such a one sided view of the markets for as long as I've known of him.

***OT***
Shoreco,
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here but what's the death rate for blood clots as a result of long air flights? Much higher than we would ever belief and they come a day or so after those flights in most cases and have only recently been associated with that cause.
So death rates for taser use is probably highly related to the victims condition at the time ie; high blood pressure, drug induced rage etc. all combine with a potential deadly effect.
shoreco,
"Only kidding, but the fella on CNBC said that out of the 50k Tasers on the street they account for about 30 deaths...
So here's a question??
The more Tasers, the higher Death rate???"
I fail to follow you to that conclusion since the death rate should remain relatively constant.
What's going on? Did someone yell fire at tasr?

Train Guy,
You found that thing on the Russian girl in a mailorder bride website didn't you? Ok you don't have to admit it you old snake.(g)
Mikemargin,
"As much as I hate the Fench People, France is a great place to visit."
Why would you visit there if you hate the French? It would surely be one of the last places on my travel agenda, but of course having been there and experienced their snobbish unfriendly attitude it is last on my list anyway.
brainlessone,
Switzerland is great particularly Zermatt. Austria is nice but can't help you with the rest. I can assure you France and Paris was the low point of our trip. It was a big disappointment and even down to the hotel help being surly. I don't know what their problem is but they need to change their ways or lose all American tourism.
Moon
brainlessone,
You ever visit France? If not don't because the attitude toward Americans is not what I would call friendly and this was two years ago. Italy is great and UK also. Skip France and there are many people that will tell you the same thing.
Oh yeah plenty of pick pockets in Paris. Alady with us was pickpocketed.
Zeev,
Any target for SNDK?

Also check out avan, big percentage mover which I have played off and on. Just happened to own some today when it popped.
