I have a feeling something is going on between Castro and the Cubs that isn't good. I think they're still unhappy with Castro since his big contract. I know he has been hurt but when he's healthy he just doesn't seem to give it his all. I know I have seen him not go for the ball like I thought he should or get in very long slumps at the plate that to me seem off. Anyway, just my opinion and if he does get traded I wish him all the best.
I wish the Cubs would go after Christian Yelich (Marlins) but I know that won't happen. The kid is really good and hits the ball deep a lot, so just imagine him in Wrigley. His Home run total would be double and I would bet he could hit over .300 easy. I think he was .288 for 2014. He was on a tear in September and could have got .300 in my opinion, but he fell off since Stanton got hit.
I think the Cubs have given up on Castro. I would be surprised if he's in a Cubbie uniform next year. They can use some of that money on another pitcher.
I hope the cubs go after Brandon McCarthy this winter. I think he would fit in the Cubs rotation very nicely.
Speaking of Harry, I wish baseball announcers were more like him, Vin Scully and Mel Allen. They gave the game added color to keep the average person from falling asleep in between the home runs. When I try to watch a whole game these days, I find myself waking up innings later in a stupor and then changing the channel... and I'm a Baseball (Cubs) fan of 30+ years now. I think Baseball will pay a price if they don't search for more lively announcers. I know I'm off the subject but I just had to say it.
The Cubs still need an ace and closer that will be reliable. I think the bats will be there in 2015 if Baez and company can learn this winter to be hitters and not ball crushers. The Cubs also need someone to bring them around as a team like a "Norman Dale". If Madden can do that they will be in the playoffs in my opinion. One last thing, they need a seasoned team captain who has a winning but tactful spirit.
Well, Jeter is officially retired. He was pulled out of the game a while ago. Zimmerman of the Nationals got a no-hitter a few minutes ago as well. I can't believe it's the end of the baseball regular season already.
Kris Bryant (Cubs) Named Baseball America's Minor League Player Of The Year.
If Baez can concentrate less on jacking one out of the park and focus on getting hits while Soler staying hot, next year the Cubs should be in the playoffs. Many other Cubs players are showing promise too. However, the owners will need to buy some pitching this Winter, maybe 2 good starters and 1 good closer. Whatever happens I see it being an exciting year for Cubs fans.
Well, I guess both. But I'll take anyone for my team who can hit like Puig any day.
Jorge Soler the next Puig in my opinion.
Will Pete Rose be reinstated by new commish? Sportsbook gives 8/1 odds

In my opinion Baez is too anxious to hit the ball. I think if he can wait for good pitches he will do well. He needs to work on that during the winter.
I picked the Os too back in Spring but I think they will lose to the Dodgers though if they do go into the World Series. We will see soon enough.
Cubs trade Barney to Dodgers. Looks like they're making room for the new rookies coming up soon... I hope.

He might have easily had 4k hits if he stayed with it a few more years. I never was much of a fan because of what the Padres did to the Cubs in 84 but I do respect him.
Glad to see Polanco and Singleton off to great starts since being called up.
Pete Rose will manage Bridgeport Bluefish on June 16

Now, the Dodgers have to do something about Joc Pederson. They have to make some room for this rookie soon. The only way I can see that is if they trade him or trade Kemp or Crawford to make room for him. Most of the rookies I mentioned before have all been called up except Pederson. Give this kid a break!
Astros signed 1B Jon Singleton to a five-year, $10 million contract extension.
Advice: The deal also includes three club options and can be worth up to $35 million if all the options and incentives are triggered. It's a nice safety net for Singleton, but it will wind up being an extremely club-friendly deal if he comes anywhere close to reaching his ceiling. Singleton will make his major league debut on Tuesday.
I remember the Zim from his Cubs days. He seemed to eat and breath baseball. A sad day for us fans.
Looks like Yelich, Bogaerts and other rookies are finally coming out of their slumps, I hope.
I would try not to be upset that a cop thinks he has the power to pull me over just to tell me I threw a bad pitch.
He could have played at least another season because they offered him a 1 year contract but he insisted on a 3 year deal.

Add Rangers Martin Perez to today's list too.
Tommy John Surgeons are keeping busy this year. Chris Withrow and maybe Sean Burnett are today's latest.
I bet he has at least a few million dollars worth of baseball memorabilia hanging on his walls.
His home looks like an apartment complex from above. That place is huge.
2014 the year of the DL.
Good to hear. I'm not into fantasy baseball yet, but I do have a lot of his rookie cards.
Samardzija finally gets a win after a 16-game winless streak. ERA of 1.68
Ryu is trying to get a no-hitter of his own tonight.
Nick Franklin is turning out to be almost as bad as Brad Miller. Both of these players played like All-Stars during Spring training and AAA, now they play like you know what.
I still think the Cubs will be in the World Series next year. They have great players to fill in every position, but the problem will be what to do with current players who are under contract for a couple of years or more and doing poorly. It won't be easy trading them without losing money.
Looks like Epstein got my memo about needing key veterans to motivate young Cubs rookies.
What is with most of these rookies going on long slumps?
Even with the mistakes I think Puig should be player of the month.
I hope Franklin doesn't do a Miller and go on a long slump.
He's probably dreaming right now that he was traded to the Dodgers.
