answers in the Q;s...everything is speculation at this point...but encouraged they are alive. Hopefully there is an answer as to why they have been dead for over a year.... maybe a big contract in the works!
It's done
yes, I'm sure pilot/ test MM have been sold, I doubt any large contracts yet. I invested in WM as a long term play like Amazon who developed a new market and has made many millionaires.
One or two contracts and WM may have a billion dollar Market Cap!
not everyone who needs a moto taxi has a smart phone (I don't). The MM has a black box for insurance, GPS and standardized gov't controlled pricing....Uber, OLA etc. Apps can't do this. They all have different pricing that isn't gov't controlled and they may have issue with paying taxes.
It will be interesting to see with Q's the status of Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Cambodia and other opportunities.
...suggest you sell as soon as you can..
I've haven't seen any announcement MM is dead in India. Three years is not long for India...my guess it will take a number of more years before any regulation takes place. VM is not for everyone.
It takes a long time for emerging markets to develop. I'm sure auto taxi meters took a long time before standards were established. From my experience about eight years is the average. WM has not been a get rich quick company- it took years for Amazon to develop, in the early years my friends laughed at me for recommending an unprofitable (still) online store- they thought I was nuts. Twenty years later, it's still a great buy.
How do you know they changed to law that meters are no longer required? Meters are required on all auto taxis (India and the rest of the world), why wouldn't it be required on moto's?
Not logical to me... IMHO!
maybe, but also Google... Intellepedia's IP News says Taminada, India mandates by law moto meters with GPS...
Patent: World Moto bags Moroccan patent for Moto-Meter
Posted by BIP Staff In Patents 0 comment
World Moto, a company renowned for its advanced taxi-meter called Moto-Meter, has recently been awarded a patent from the patent office of Morocco for Moto-Meter. World Moto was earlier granted patents for the same invention in Nigeria and South Africa. Moto Meter is an advanced taxi-meter primarily used for calculating fares in moto-taxis.
The moto-taxis, also known as motorcycle taxis, are two wheeler vehicles which are used for transporting people. Market size of this product is estimated to be close to five hundred billion dollars. of late, the moto-taxis have gained popularity all over the world due to their ease of availability, lower operating costs, and convenience of use during peak hours. It is estimated that the number of moto-taxis in Bangkok alone supercedes total number of taxi cabs in the USA. At present there are over 20 million moto-taxis in over 100 countries, Nigeria topping list of countries with most number of moto-taxis.
In comparison with other taxi meters, the Moto-Meter has additional featurs such as Blackbox, GPS and advertisement display system. The Moto-Meter, which can be used in harsh and open environments as well, possesses various sensing means such as speed sensors, accelerometers etc which are used to capture data during accidents. World Moto is seeking patent protection for the Moto-Meter in 61 countries. The company’s CEO Paul Giles and CTO Chris Ziomkowski themselves are inventors of the Moto-Meter.
World Moto has gained prominence in India as well, and they have secured a pre-tender deal for supplying 90,000 Moto-Meters for auto rickshaws in Tamilnadu, where installation of meters with GPS system has been made compulsory by law.
if its a Friday release prob. not good news...hopefully followed by some pump PR's
Yes, if you don't believe there is a market...why would you invest your time and money? Uber also invested $50M in this town...deep pockets most always win in the short term.
Siri Lanka (sp) requires meters from what I read?
yes but many countries require a meter to collect taxes and a black box for accidents, insurance and other and now wi-fi . They mandate that all taxi's have meters. What don't you understand?
patents only have the value in what someone pays for it. Someone like UberMoto could control the worldwide moto taxi business if they had a patented MM to add to their product offering...maybe generate billions in revenue.
I'm not aware of that accounting principle...might be time to sell then...
ha, ha, your opinion. Have you read the patent application? Have you watch Shark Tank on TV?....first question is always do you have a patent? Next questions are: do you have competition? ...How big is the market? ...What is the potential?
Moto taxis are huge (2x auto). Meters are mandated on all auto taxi's- someday maybe on all moto taxi's.
If I owned VM, I would market the patents to Uber and others for $200M plus (at least) with royalties. 100 thousand MM is $150,000,000 (a small country)- worldwide $bilions$...yes, the patents are worth a lot of money!
Yes, it may be years before MMs are mandated but my guess it will happen- and WM has the only MM in market. It may take a huge financial investment by WM to market to gov'ts around the world. Relying on small local service companies to market may work over time but it would make most sense to me to sell out to a deep pocket company like Uber or other.
Yes, you could be right or maybe some gov't entity mandates a MM(?) My best guess there is a huge market for MM but it may take a partner with deep pockets to crack.
I'm surprised they never redesigned their Web site to a modern site (not a 90's style pretty picture site) and that no Investor Bankers seem to have interest in WM. A $30M investment would help.
Still, I'm hoping for 3x to 5x bump with Q's
From the Web published 4/16- huge money flowing into moto taxi services...
Indonesia’s Go-Jek raises $550 million to battle Uber and Grab
Maybe, but I bought more shares today. Looks good to me.
fortunately WM has the patent on this. Just like Green Mtn/ Keurig controlled the coffee K-cup market for years until the patent expired.
Thanks...all potential customers of WM. Their market is the motor taxi apps/ ride share business starting all around the world.
only one company has a patent on MM!
Is LyftMoto next?
UberMoto seems like an appropriate name
maybe you already have
I appreciate (and share) your positive outlook but even you must admit this is a very strange company. The patents could be very valuable, but the market doesn't always reward potential, especially from a company with so many 'pumps' in the past (I am happy they stopped the insane pumps)
I don't remember a PR on this??
doesn't make sense they would kill Web site, email and phone number. What viable company does this?
too bad SEC doesn't have any rules to make non-reporting penny stocks be more transparent...or any that I'm aware of? I can't think of any reason for WM to just stop operating, except the obvious they have no cash....or they sold company to someone who hasn't announce acquisition for some reason...maybe for competitive reasons?... a private company. Very strange, never seen this before- something brewing?
WM has effectively stopped doing business, no Web site, phone number, etc. I would say they are not alive. Maybe they are restructuring in some fashion, but I doubt WM will ever exist as a stand alone company again. I'm here because I hope they have sold out to a company that has the resources to market MM and increase my share price!
No doubt huge risk, maybe a big return...a crap shoot.
...or they sold technology and waiting for announcement when it closes or they are in the middle of negotiating a large contract. Either way, this is a very strange company!
or this company will make many millionairs
who knows...my guess you would be very happy or sad if WM is just dead
Must be obvious to most by now that WM is no longer doing business- no phone #, Web site, etc. Hopefully they partnered with a deep pocket provider. India alone represents a billion dollar opportunity.
yes very strange...obviously they need a deep pocket partner to market product. WM seems out of business at this time. No phone number, email, or web site.
Gov'ts typically require a financially strong company to do business with- prob. not WM.
you seem to forget Uber was denied entry in Thailand, India and SiriLnaka because they don't have taxi meter
no, they are no longer an operating company- no Web site, email, etc. Either dead or sold out...IMO
The only reason to shut down web site, email, etc. with patents in 22 plus countries is if they have sold business and a new launch under another name is imminent....IMO
Have you read patents?...no holes!
yes, huge growth market...good for him!
