CMF/Paul...re SFLK....Thanks This is an awsome win for this biometric company. I believe that an additional value of this contract is that it will allow SFLK to close other deals.
This contract win was for their biometrics....but don't forget that they can now demonstrate the advantages of SSPX products and could leverage the DHS contract.
Sincerely,
Jas
re SSPX...Their price appreciation is directly tied to SFLK. For those of you that have been following the news out of the Dept. of Homeland Security...Yesterday they announced a VERY LARGE contract....SFLK will be hosting a conference call ~12:00 on 6/03/04:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040602/law116_1.html
Sincerely,
Jas
CMF/Paul...re SFLK
1) re Pres/CEO...You're correct...he bought only 10K shares....but he spent his own money. His annual salary is in the neighborhood of 200K. When was the last time SKS or GF bought any shares?
2) re buying in regarding a big contract potential...I agree...I wouldn't go buying on the hope that they will win a portion of that contract...but I WOULD keep an eye on them just in case they are a sub to the major players.
3) SSPX/SFLK merger....Initially, I was against the merger....but as a result of the DD I have done...it has become apparent to me that the future is combininh Smart Card tech with biometrics....and that is what this merger allows.
Sincerely,
Jas
CMF/Paul...re SFLK...Keep your eyes peeled on the sector over the next 7-10 days. The Homeland Security Dept is about to award 15 BILLION dollars worth of contracts...and a great deal of that money is going to go to Smart Cards/Biometrics. One of the teams bidding for this contract is headed by Lockheed Martin and Unysis. Both just happen to be partners with SSPX. Finally, the CEO of SFLK purchased shares on the open market on Friday and Monday...Imagine that...a CEO who puts his money where his mouth is FWIW
Sincerely,
Jas
OT OT..re SFLK/SSPX
For those who have not followed SFLK...I would HIGHLY suggest that you take some time this weekend and LISTEN to a replay of their CC 5/13/04
(877)519-4471 Code 4748215
There is ~ 5-10 minutes of music and then the CC starts. I truly hope that Wave does NOT sell anymore SSPX shares at THIS time!
Anyone who is interested...should go to the SSPX thread that Yaya started...
Sincerely,
Jas
re SFLK...Everyone should listen to their recent CC...
877-519-4471....code 4748215...
There is about a 10 min pause....then the CC starts.
Sincerely,
Jas
Trustco...re Fujitsu...I have no idea whether or not we are bundled. I was surprised he mentioned Fujitsu and not Toshiba considering we were on their web site for a while regarding their upcoming TPM offerings.
Sincerely,
Jas
Trustco....re Fujitsu...Those are Stevens own words during yesterdays CC.
Sincerely,
Jas
CM...Thanks for your reply. As always...you made a number of good points. Regarding your comment about the difficulty in predicting exact numbers when you're not in control of those decisions...I agree 100%. It is very difficult....however...management can make statements without divulging anything in an NDA. For example...I wish SKS had elaborated more upon one of his comments:...If you remove the TPMs being deployed by IBM...Wave is represented on 50-60% of all the TPMs being currently deployed mainly through Fujitsu and Intel. SKS could have made a comment about whether or not he thinks that by the end of the year...we would still be represented by that same rough percentage of deployed TPMs excluding IBM. Furthermore...he could have elaborated upon how INTERESTED IBM's clients were in our products...He could have provided some clue as to how long he thinks it will be to educate these enterprise customers...1 quarter...2 quarters...3 quarters? The IBM segment is important because their conversion rate would provide an important data point...activation rate. This information is IMPORTANT in regards to determining potential revenue generation...especially in light to the other important piece of info...10-20 dollars/year/seat.
Sincerely,
Jas
Paul...re WaveXpress...SKS did some major league hinting yesterday that something rather SIGNIFICANT could potenially be coming down the pipe sooner than later. I was amazed he made such a statement in light of Peter's comment nearly a year ago.
Sincerely,
Jas
CM...re building a market...What you say is true...I have always said that management deserves a great deal of credit navigating the often changing currents of the last few years. Having said this...they need to be concerned with building a base of doccumented success in regards to the bottom line. It is unbelievable that the company was ONLY able to muster 50K in revenues...with the majority of it coming from WaveXpress. We had something in the neighborhood of~20K dollars from TPM related products. The last update we received was that Intel was going to be shipping tens of thousands per month and increasing to 100sK and then million units by the end of the year. The last update we received regarding our charges were something around 1 dollar/unit. Obvioulsy these numbers do NOT add up (IMHO). Another example regarding managing expectations revolves around the pre-existing IBM/TPM market. If I'm the only one who totally misunderstood what SKS was saying about tapping into this segment...then I apologize for my obvious ignorance. Management has done a great job at positioning the company to take advantage of the trusted computing market when it takes shape...however...they have done a pathetic job when it comes to managing expectations. This may not be important to the retail investor...but it DOES mean something to the street. If we had 20-30 million dollars sitting in the bank at this moment in time...it would be one thing....unfortunately...we don't.
Sincerely,
Jas
re CPA...This is not the same Barry...FWIW
Jas
Orda...re revenue/seat...You are correct...it was their inital estimate PRIOR to the pilots. Honestly...when I have calculated our revenue potential...I've used a conversion rate of 10% and a revenue generation of 10 dollars/seat....FWIW
Jas
Revenue/seat...10-20 dollars/year/seat....Steven is talking about pilots they have done with various companies that give him confidence regarding predicting this revenue potential.
Jas
Greg s...There lies the entire enchilada....You believe that the TPM delpoyment will be hindered....and I believe it will be accelerated.
Jas
greg s...re you don't see Wave doing this alone...I guess we're ALONE if one does not include:
IBM
INTEL
HP
NSM
ATMEL
BRCM
Glad to see we're soooooo ALONE. Do you truly believe that TPM deployment will be hindered by MSFTs announcment?
Jas
24601...re eamonn....I'll SECOND that!
Sincerely,
Jas
Kevin....Thanks for sharing your insights..... they are appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jas
lugan...There use to be a poster on Silicon Investor by the name of Anthony...... who knew about a Barrons(Claugus) article PRIOR to everyone else. A few days before the article came out...he made the comment to the effect of you wavoids don't know what is about to hit you...
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Jas
IAMSAM...what are your thoughts regarding the last paragraph? Will these additional shares change the ratio...ie .6 sflk shares for every sspx. The reason I ask is that the PR also says that the total number of shares we receive from SFLK will not change.
Sincerely,
Jas
re bid...the volume on the bid side just increased to 12000 shares(bid 1.50)...fwiw
Jas
Awk...re bid/ask...I've actually seen bid 1.50 and an ask of 1.55 for a while. Someone is absorbing a great number of shares at ~1.50 (greatnumber as it pertains to the total volume TODAY)
Sincerely,
Jas
RCW...re Dell...go to the TCG web site and click on the PR from 3/31/04....Dell joins TCG...
http://www.trustedcomputinggroup.org
Sincerely,
Jas
Ootomommy...Sorry for the confusion...I wrote a post that at the time was following yours...it was not meant for you....Sorry for the confusion.
Sincerely,
Jas
re shelf registration....I can't reply via PM....send me your phone number via pm and I'll give you a call.
Sincerely,
Jas
re Shelf offering...Do you folks understand the potential significance of this filing??? Wave has been raising funds through private placements since the mid-90s....have they EVER done such a filing?? Think about WHY they would do so now???
Sincerely,
Jas
Eamonshute...re player123...Is it just me or does this poster sound a great deal like our old friend Jenny aka Largehedgefund??? IMHO
Sincerely,
Jas
Kevin...re SSPX/SFLK...I understand it's a stock deal...I was talking about if I simply wanted to sell my SSPX shares on the open market rather than converting them into SFLK shares.
Sincerely,
Jas
2B...re Homeland Security...The comment that stood out for me was the following...."the big winners will be the SUBS to the primes." That is ONE of the reason I'm seriously thinking about converting my SSPX shares into SFLK after the merger instead of simply dumping them for cash. I think that 2005 and 2006 will be terrific for the biometric stocks...IMHO
Sincerely,
Jas
SFLK OT...re Rodman and Renshaw....I had personally never heard of these guys prior to a few weeks ago when I read they had increased their target price for SFLK to 8 dollars/share....The Shelf offering from Titan Pharmaceuticals was handled by the same Rodman and Renshaw....FWIW.
Sincerely,
Jas
Trustco...re when...I think we have been told on numerous occasions that the industry introduces new products in the early summer months....therefore...I would expect to hear something in the May/June time frame...FWIW BTW...don't forget that in the meantime...we could start to see accumulation during the MSFT City tour as well as the upcoming joint presentation with IBM.
Sincerely,
Jas
Mig...re Price run up...Although I disagree with you regarding the possible spark....I think that we would both agree that WHEN Wave anounces some significant news....we WILL see tremendous amount of shares being traded....the 30-60 million days are NOT a thing of the past.
Sincerely,
Jas
Peterparker...re S-3...I agree 100%! It would appear that the company is getting everything ready to go for a buy in....I would think it will take place in two or three months...IMHO
Sincerely,
Jas
khillo...re market conditions....You maybe right...however...Wave will still have to come out with some news that has substance behind it or we face the possibility of SEVERE dilution....irrespective of what the general market conditions are at that time.
Sincerely,
Jas
CPA...re News...Interesting timing to make the filing at this time...I would think they would have to privy to some other "NEWS" that would make such an offer possible...especially given their track record on the street. This would remove one of the MAJOR lids that has been on top of our stock...IMHO
Sincerely,
Jas
Doma/Trustco...If anyone is interested....this may have been the spark that lit the fuse yesterday...IMHO
Sincerely,
Jas
Trustco...Do you truly believe that yesterdays run up was based upon the PR we received today???
Jas
CMF...re TA...Boy...did I BLOW that call...;-((
Jas
CMF...re TA...At the risk of jinxing us...I think we just completed a successful re test of the support level....we'll see
Jas
re SSPX shares...according to todays filing...Wave sold 655K shares of SSPX stock between 3/29-4/13 (1.65-2.15) This recent sale of stock leaves us with ~2.8 million shares or ~7 % of outstanding SSPX shares.
Sincerely,
Jas
