The CEO directly answered the question of the Tangiers deal to support any cash flow issues until we can become cash flow positive. Since the S1 for the Tangiers deal hasn't been approved by the SEC no shares have changed hands. This is the last time I'm doing your DD for you.
Tell me the difference from sales to revenue. The announcement clearly states the agreement includes both processing and storage. I also think the truth is AXMP is moving totally away from there current core business to all in on cord blood.
AXM Pharma owns six buildings totaling more than 200,000 square feet of space on its 13 acre biotech campus in Shenyang, China, DEDICATED for this venture. CBAI believes this creates the world's largest cord blood bank, with a capacity of more than 2 million samples to start. AXM Pharma also has over 200 employees and 20 distributors to support plans for a rapid ramp up of the cord blood stem cell business
Here it is one more time below. And a little DD will show you that Shenyang, China is a world mecca today for cord blood stem cell transplants.
announced today that it has signed a License and Cooperation Agreement for the processing and storage of umbilical cord blood in China with AXM Pharma, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AXMP).
Sounds like cord blood storage from the announcement. But it goes on to say we are getting 10% of the stem cell sub.
announced today that it has signed a License and Cooperation Agreement for the processing and storage of umbilical cord blood in China with AXM Pharma, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AXMP).
In return, CBAI will receive a 10% equity stake in AXM Pharma's STEM CELL subsidiary and an 8.5% royalty for all cord blood sales.
Tell me the difference.
The sub is going to be all about stem cells. Read the announcement again. So every dollar of stem cell revenue we get 8.5%. That's the deal Plus 10% of the sub's profits if there are any initailly.
I think the clear winner will be CBAI at least for the next five years. AXMP doesn't have to make a dime in profit for us to make excellent profits with an 8.5% royalty for every dollar of revenue with basically no investment other than time. It might be years before AXMP makes a profit.
Never said I did what? You lost me.
This is going to be a sub of AXMP according to the announcement. Doesn't mean I like AXMP today. Regardless of if AXMP makes a profit right away or not we still get 8.5% of every dollar of revenue.
Let me ask you a different question Myth since you have called this deal nothing great in an earlier post. Do you think it's now GOLD if they do have a license and we get 8.5% of all revenues for next to nothing. It's a five year deal.
You don't have to believe it but it's clear the CEO thinks they have what is needed. No doubt here. Why do you think Dr Geoff went with him? To start the process.
Sounds like to me they already have the license. Maybe under another name or something? And with the ability when completed to store over 2M stems that's about $20M a year in profits for us at 8.5% royalty if they reach that level.
Its CEO and co-founder, Matthew Schissler, in an interview with analyst Francis Gaskins, said its recent announcement to build the world's largest stem cell storage facility in China, in conjunction with AXM Pharma, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AXMP), makes great sense for three reasons:
A higher percentage of Chinese are interested in storing stem cells than in populations in the U.S. and Europe.
The barriers to entry into China are high and expensive. By partnering with a Company which is already successful, and which holds key government licenses, Cord Blood America sees a pathway to success.
China is the world's most populous country and Cord Blood America needs representation there to move forward with its worldwide growth strategy.
This is no vacation trip. From my understanding they are moving ahead so any need for a license must be a sure thing. They have already stated they expect to start storing by the end of this year.
OK Mr Long. I sent your response to Matt. He has arrived in China and am sure he will be pleased with your faith.
I know you think I'm a blind follower or something like that but I bought this stock in the low .003's and have already tripled my investment. A significant investment for sure and one I made after very careful consideration and a good understanding of what Matt has planned. Along the way, I got to know Matt pretty well and have the utmost respect for him as he tries to grow an emerging company in a bad economy. I'm not selling anytime soon. We're just getting started IMO.
The S1 has been out since February 12th. I guess you never read it or you would have already been aware of the CEO's comments. There was no surprise there.
Diane, I'm starting to really like you. CBAI is going to be a beast for those with patience IMO. GLTA
Absolutely a great answer Matt. Matt has friends on this board as well as investors. We believe in Matt and if you don't sell. Someone smart will grab those shares. Scot, Alibi, Locks, Dew and many others know we are going to be the largest cord blood storage company in the world. Period. GLTA
This S1 has been out there since Feb 12th so not new news. And it's still not "effective" so no shares are going to hit the market this week. At this point, CBAI is not cash flow positive so needs a fairly small amount of cash to sustain openations. Plus, we need funds to buy inventory which along with organic growth (which will increase quickly with the BCBS contract) will eventually lead us to be cash flow positive later this year IMO. I expect news this week reltated to the US operation. But I'm in no hurry as things will look much better as we move thru 2010.
The shares being registered are the same as the original S1. It will take some time to find what the changes are for the admended S1. Might be nothing much at all but a word change or something. If you compare the two let us know. I'm not up to it.
Try this link. Too long to read right now. I assume the SEC made them make a few changes.
http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?company=CORD+BLOOD+AMERICA%2C+INC.&match=&CIK=&filenum=&State=&Country=&SIC=&owner=exclude&Find=Find+Companies&action=getcompany
That's true. But historically they filed the annual 10K mid April but this year they filed at the end of March. So perhaps we get the 10Q the end of April?
Thanks Karen. Really appreciate it. Ibox looks good.
I see we have new assistant Mods.
IMO in the US Matt is primarily focused on buying inventory to fill the Lab, not necessarily companies. Or contracting to provide services as PCT did for us.
And IMO the China deal is a gem. They obviously have a license or expect to have one soon. And they obviously have the funding to build out a Lab and storage facility or Matt wouldn't be involved or headed back over there with Dr Geoff. And also, per the announcement CBAI is getting 10% of the stem cell sub which to my knowledge hasn't been identified or even created yet. So any losses by the parent won't affect our profits.
Any chance you can get an update from your contact?
Let me remind you guys. CBAI is looking to acquire companies that are underfunded or in financial distress. I don't see any evidence this company has it's own storage facility. And with no filings for a long time you have to wonder if they can't afford auditors. It happens all the time. Good luck.
I don't think Matt has said he is actually visiting Vivicells has he? It was just a guess based on them being in the Chicago area. There could be many reasons for him visiting Chicago. And all deals don't have to include an acquisition. Perhaps they are storing with someone and Matt is trying to offer them a better deal? Contracting for storage is one of our revenue options. Not much info on the Vivicells site that I could find that said where they are currently storing?
That's funny. Stand guard early tomorrow morning. LOL
10% of a sub. IMO we should be able to discuss. You're the Mod. What do you say?
IMO we can once we have more info on it. For now we know CBAI is providing expertise only to get it up and running. That's why Matt and Dr Geoff are off to China on the 12th. The Mods will have to clarify how much we can discuss that venture. I just don't want this Board fixated on AXMP personally.
Good morning all. I do have an opinion on your question. If you read the China announcement carefully you will see CBAI owns 10% of the stem cell subsidiary of AXMP (yet to be determined), not 10% of AXMP. I don't really care how AXMP performs overall. Only how the sub performs when identified and it's up and operational.
Yep. This stock is a steal at a penny IMO. Had a great Easter. Hope everyone else did also.
I could be wrong along with a few others on here. But them updating the website was a good sign to me. Hey they could have closed the deal Friday, and with it being a Holiday and the market closed not announce till tomorrow. Opitmism Panther. Optimism.
What? On if you're going to be a millionaire or not?
I'm sure they were all pinkies too. A reverse split wouldn't hurt this company in the least and in the long run would help it. It would sure get rid of a lot of the clowns he has to deal with now. But it's not happening anytime soon so stop worrying about it for now.
Happy Easter everyone. A good time to reflect. I bought into CBAI last June. Since then in only nine short months much has happened.
1) Went from a small office in California to having there own state of the art processing and storage facility in Vegas
2) Signed a preferred provider agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield in the US
3) Bought a 51% stake in the 3rd largest cord blood bank in Germany
4) For nothing other than expertise and consulting costs obtained an 8.5% royalty agreement and a 10% stake in a large facility in China set to enter the cord blood business there
5) Plus another couple of small deals with a company in South America and one if Sarasota, FL
I'm not sure what is next but much has been done in a very short time and IMO much more will be done in the days ahead. Wow.
Have a great day all.
I found one item (shown below) from the AXMP announcement interesting and wondered what others thought. Sounds to me like AXMP is shifting there business model almost totally towards cord blood storage. Any thoughts?
"AXM Pharma owns six buildings totaling more than 200,000 square feet of space on its 13 acre biotech campus in Shenyang, China, dedicated for this venture."
They go on to say:
"CBAI believes this creates the world's largest cord blood bank, with a capacity of more than 2 million samples to start. AXM Pharma also has over 200 employees and 20 distributors to support plans for a rapid ramp up of the cord blood stem cell business."
That's great for CBAI since we now get 8.5% of all cord blood revenue as a royalty (mostly profit) plus 10% of any profits.

I'm new to this Board and actually am only here due to my investment in CBAI and our deal now with AXMP. At this point, I'm not an investor mainly because I prefer to stay away from non-filing Pink Sheet companies. But I did find one item (shown below) from the announcement interesting and wondered what others thought. Sounds to me like AXMP is shifting there business model almost totally towards cord blood storage. Any thoughts?

That's great for CBAI if true since we now get 8.5% of all cord blood revenue as a royalty. And could be great for AXMP since China is a huge market for this service IMO. I do feel with the CBAI CEO being on the Board of Directors he will make a real effort to bring filings current in time.

Karin, I recently read an article that I believe was posted on here that was talking about a new ability to multiply stem cells. Not yet perfected but having promise. From reading the article it sounded as if this was new. Maybe you're aware of something else that's already out there?
