"There are simply too many ways things can go awry when dealing with the US government."
not really dealing with the US Gov....we are dealing with the Air Force...and they want spider silk...and they already have the money to make it happen...
"Then ignore the indicator"
why would i do that?...
"It works for me and is quite reliable."
agreed....but there are times when it does not...as i stated yesterday:
"The o/b indicator worked fine under normal conditions, but clearly when there’s a powerful sustained move, it’s not much use"
and the djia chart since Nov proved that point...
Since Nov, it shows overbought without any real correction….it was essentially useless as an indicator of anything…
The o/b indicator worked fine under normal conditions, but clearly when there’s a powerful sustained move, it’s not much use…
Many indicators are useless under those conditions…
thats not the djia...thats fcel...
“It's an indicator that has never failed.”
That’s why I brought up the djia…it failed there…and it can fail anywhere…it’s not to be relied upon on its own…
“but if the signal is respected any investor would seriously consider it.”
I consider many indicators as well as the circumstances surrounding the stock, company and economy…
Right now you have a stock market that has been riding high on the belief that the Fed would hold off on further hikes of the interest rates and possibly lower them later on next year…that belief was deemed justified yesterday…
Fcel will have their earnings on the 19th…there will be buying on the rumor and maybe a little selling on the news…but I suspect most will hold thru the news…
It’s possible a pr will be put out on Monday…and once the earnings are known, the pps will either drop or continue higher regardless of where the o/b status is…
I’m still not trading fcel…I was trading BE instead…but I didn’t do it today…there were much more volatile stocks to trade…
I do like buying the rumor but will almost never hold thru earnings…
Then you are going to be plenty surprised about what else has been going on…
“What's different is there is a picture of it.”
Looks to be about 20 kilos to me…but whatever the weight, at least I don’t have to listen to all the bullshit about maybe they only made a thimble full…or an a ounce…SMH
“Largest production output ever.”
I doubt it…I think much more was produced during the GSS pilot project…
What I know is Kblb isn’t a one man band anymore… kim has hired many different experts in various fields and it appears he is listening to their advice…
“We all know that's not the way Kim does things.”
This is just more looking at the past and thinking the future holds the same…
that’s just backwards thinking imo…time for forward thinking…
"Don’t know how they would do that without testing all of them in a live environment for at least a year."
oh good grief....lol
"One test production run isn’t going to tell you much."
it will tell the expert a whole lot more than it would tell you or me...we are at the end of all the testing...i doubt we have to wait very long to get the results we want...i doubt we have to wait at all...but knowing kim, we might...
"Some may work better in the cold and others in the heat and humidity."
pretty sure we already know that stuff...they been screwing around with all the strains etc for about a year now...its just fine tuning now...
"Still just a big science project"
lmao....we are WAAAAAAAAAAY beyond that...
the o/b is just an indicator...its a tool to be used in conjunction with other tools...
look at the djia chart...it showed o/b at 33,500 and has stayed o/b all the way to today's new high at 37,200...overbought for over 1 1/2 months...the o/b indicator just had to deal with it...
market is running and as long as things stay good, i see fcel running up to the 19th...then it will be up to the earnings report to determine what will happen to the stock price after that...
a close above $1.50 might just might take this to $1.75 tomorrow...maybe even 2 bucks next week if things stay the same...
the o/b indicator will just have to deal with it...
"Either way,more news to come"
its all good...and im anticipating more news will come, soon, from other areas besides production...
i appreciate your efforts and all that you post here...
i dont see GSS cranking out a whole lot of silk while also trying to determine how best to create the optimal pairing of pure-line strains to produce ideal hybrid cocoons and spider silk....and i dont know how long it will take for them to find that optimal pairing...
but the good news is that the production process looks solid and once they get the optimal pairing they want, its all downhill from there....
from the Nov 27 pr that announced the consultants from India:
"One key area of focus for work at Kraig Labs’ overseas production operations with these new experts will be testing and creating the optimal pairing of these pure-line strains to produce ideal hybrid cocoons and spider silk."
this i believe is what the "trials" is about...
"This is a lab batch. It’s not even from a test run."
im not so sure its a lab batch...i think its from a test run at GSS...
from todays pr:
"today announces the early start to the production season with the successful manufacture and delivery of the most recent batch of recombinant spider silk."
Prodigy doesnt have a "production season"...it can produce year round...
and what makes you think this isnt reeled yarn?...
the dude helping kim hold the silk in the photo is Bruce Le...
some may know him as Ken Le...
Could be that they don’t want anything to do with enormous reactors anymore…but something like NuScale (SMR) is doing would be what they are interested in…small modular reactors…
This is the company that fcel is partnering with…
You would jump all over it if it was 6 times more sells than buys…
"That's your interpretation"
yes it is...so lets be honest and not so vague...clear it up...
what is your take on kblb now...
6 times more buying than sells...
uh oh...that cant be good...
for some, anyway...
"KBLB will not become the company many have bet the farm on."
what a vague comment...you have been learning from your mentor kim thompson?...
just say that kblb will succeed but you dont think it will be as big as some may believe...
i know you will choke on it but, arent you supposed to speak the truth after all?...
he is truism now....but he doesnt seem to post as much anti kblb rhetoric anymore...apparently he has discovered that kblb may actually mass produce and is now just promoting Spiber on this board...for some unknown reason...
kim went to vietnam for a reason...he went to larec for a reason...and im thinking hes presenting those worms for a reason...
i guess it could just be just a photo op for publicity...but............
kind of a strange photo then...why would kim and rice be pictured looking as if they are presenting worms they have nothing to do with?...
"overall trend continues to be very positive."
hmmmmm...seriously??..
look at that pps line from Dec 2020 and follow it to where we are now in dec 2023...
you are saying that looks positive??...
is this a typical Lam Dong rearing room?...looks air tight...and does Lam Dong typically engage in the rearing of silk worms in early Dec?...and why would kim and rice be pictured holding worms that had nothing to do with KBLB?...
maybe they arent spider silk, but on the other hand, are we in the business of creating anything BUT spider silk?...
looks like an awful lot of worms for mid December...and i doubt we saw them all...
on a side note, why does kim remind of a 1760 plantation owner named Artemis J. Beauregard...all hes missing is the whip...
did the Exxon ceo just say that people better start petitioning the Fed Gov to send Exxon that welfare money otherwise they aint gonna do squat...and its the people who will suffer?...
“The rah rah minions want you to ignore the past, because "this time is different”
By “rah rah minions” I guess you are referring to shareholders who have invested their hard earned money into this stock, hoping to make a decent profit?…
As for ignoring the past because this time it’s different….
YES…that’s EXACTLY what I said…because it CLEARLY is…
And the only thing funny is that EVERYONE can see that it is…whether they admit it or not…
"I guess we just differ on the meaning of "failure."
sure as hell do...kblb hasnt failed until they quit, go BK or otherwise stop trying...
do you see any of that happening?...what i see is kblb doing everything they can to get it done...i dont know if they will be successful or not but im betting that they will...im sure not going to look at the all the effort they are doing and shit on it while looking and whining at the past...
the past is the past...this is now...people need to open their eyes and see what is being done...i see kblb doing the right thing...FINALLY...
kim was wanting to do clothing, medical, pharmaceutical, military, industrial, fiber, gels, etc....all with one scientist and an assistant...smh...but that isnt the case anymore...he tried doing it with nickels and dimes...that isnt the case anymore...he tried doing it solo...then with a rice...then with bruce le...
now finally he has more scientists, more assitants, employed experts, hired expert consultants, partners, facilities etc...
but all some can see is the past...cant seem to acknowledge the efforts being made currently...its hard to believe that anyone can look at all these things and think "oh just more of the same"...what i see is a complete turnaround...vastly different than the past...
does that mean success is guaranteed?...no... but i like what i see...i like the effort...and i ilke that they appear to be going for it all out...
"To me when years go by with no sales, no production, no revenue, that's failure."
well it isnt...it means that success has not yet been achieved....when they stop trying, THAT'S when they will have failed...
" how would say Army funding, and Prodigy, (whatever that was) were successes?"
kblb did a lot with that army funding...but the actual contract was a failure...because we were not ready for such a contract...
i wont comment on the prodigy comment since im not sure if you mean prodigy or polartec...
"Energy companies all spreading the same message, CCS/CCUS is an absolute necessity during the transition to clean energies."
NO!...shocker!.....the Exxons of the world want to keep pumping and drilling for dirty oil so they insist that CCS is an absolute MUST!...
they dont want all that welfare money going only to new clean energy...so they came up with the stupid idea of capturing carbon dioxide and sticking in the ground...because it surely will never seep or anything like that...right?..
of course if it does, who cares?...they will have already spent all the welfare money....and im sure they will find a fix for the seepage...it will just take more welfare money to do it...
smh
oh ok...im starting to skim or just skip over a lot of posts here...tired of the multitude of posts that talk about what kim may have said in 2011...or what someone else said 10 or 12 years ago....
its like i said from the beginning when these trillion dollar welfare checks were passed (IRA and the others) it would take years before any money would be doled out...the politicians and regulators would be negotiating and conniving to try to see how much they could siphon off and who would get whatever was left over...i doubt Manuchin even recognizes the bill he created...
the whole issue was to promote and help create more green energy...and reduce reliance on fossil fuels...
but now it appears that they want to go with blue hydrogen and ccs....ccs will allow big oil to continue on or even increase the production of dirty fuel with the completely idiotic idea of sticking carbon dioxide into the ground...and the Feds will pay them billions of dollars to do it...
SMH
from the May 30,2023 letter to shareholders:
"Prodigy Textiles operates from a historical silk breeding facility constructed with double-insulating brick and concrete walls to regulate temperatures inside. When we renovated the facility, we added air processing and conditioning equipment to all of our rearing facilities to ensure tight control of climate conditions in our egg breeding center, allowing year-round operation."
"to claim that capturing 90% of CO2 from smokestacks is somehow a bad thing"
i didnt see a thing in that article about 90% capture...it was all about concern over the storage of that 90%...and it appears that concern is justified...
from todays PR:
"today announced that its senior management team is en route to Vietnam to prepare for the spring rearing season."
they are not taking this lightly...they have done and continue to do everything possible to make this work...
"They will meet with the team from its wholly owned Vietnamese subsidiary, Prodigy Textiles, third-party contractors, and government officials, including provincial leadership."
Government officials?...not sure why they need to meet with gov officials...
"This trip will lay the groundwork for the upcoming spring rearing season"
interesting...in the previous PR, kim was talking about the US and then referred to "Spring Trials"...many believed he was talking about Vietnam...but in todays pr, when specifically referring to Vietnam, kim referred to "Spring Rearing"...the US is where the research and development is done...the reference to "trials" would be appropriate for R/D ...Vietnam is where mass production is planned..."rearing" would be the appropriate term for that...im starting to think that kim is talking about US spring trials and Vietnam rearing...two different things...
"Senior management will also meet with hatcheries"
hatcheries usually involve some kind of controlled environment...temp and humidity at the least...im guessing we didnt utilize hatcheries the last time?...or is kim looking buy into one like he did the contractor?...
"and to vet additional production locations and partners, for 2024 and beyond."
well hes got a license to conduct business in the prime province for silk production in Lam Dong...i should think getting things operational at GSS and expanding to Lam Dong should pretty much fill their plate for the forseeable future...
"Kraig Labs U.S. team just concluded a very productive month of onsite work with it senior sericulture consultant for India."
its "from" India...in a prior pr, kim stated he had hired consultants "from" India...he did not hire consultants "for" India...he hired them for kblb...
any speculation that the consultants are there to do anything other than consult for kblb is not logical...they have likely signed NDA'S and could not reveal anything without approval from kim...so while it is possible at some future point in time that something could develop with India, that is far into the future of possibilities...imo
imo, kim has finally given up his pursuit of trying to prove "drop in replacement"...he is now making all the moves necessary to get it done in Vietnam...the right way...i really dont like the idea of him looking far off into the future and making moves like expansion until he has proved mass production at GSS...i want the focus to be on mass production at GSS....PERIOD...
but he DOES sound confident this time...hes hired scientists, expert consultants in the right fields, made management changes, improved protocols and proceedures and is waitng for the spring to begin rearing...i find kim's transformation fairly amazing...
imo kim has spent a lot of money doing all these things...i cant imagine we will have enough money left for a do over if this doesnt work....depending on how things go, i may stick around if kim uses debt financing....but i cant see myself hanging around for another round of dilution...not at 3 cents per share....
i have always been a huge critic of kim...and im not over that...but i must say, i have been fairly impressed with his performance over the last few months...he seems to be postioning kblb for a really good shot at making it happen this time around...
we shall see...
"But when they have climate controlled breeding buildings at Prodigy, you better believe production will be on going their year round."
i thought they already did have climate controlled breeding at Prodigy...
same crap you say on every down day since $29 per share...
you truly have no clue...
"How much more time do they need? Another year? Another five years? Another decade?"
no...
"All I have heard is that it will be happening ‘soon’"
yup...
"If it’s going to take another decade"
it wont...
"investors would be well advised to sell all their shares at this point, invest in something with a solid rate of return, the plow the money back into KBLB 9 years from now."
ok..you do that...
"I’m simply trying to point out that it matters how long it takes Kim and Jon to build the company."
for me, its only been a couple of years...
"Investors badly need clarification on how much additional time is needed."
you already have it...
"Earlier this year, we were told KBLB was on track to produce metric tons by the end of 2023."
yea...more or less..from the letter to shareholder on Dec 14, 2022:
" We remain confident that implementing these processes and technologies is the best path to successfully grow our production output to match the targeted metric ton per month levels we have contracted with them to produce by late 2023."
5-3-23 pr:
"The program to increase robustness in our spider silk transgenics remains on track and is proceeding as scheduled."
7-19-23 pr:
"The Company remains on track for the rollout of its double hybrid production system, and these additional team members further strengthen that timeline."
8-31-23 pr:
"we remain on track to deliver the next generation of production hybrids to our third-party production partner as scheduled."
10-2-23 pr:
"The spider silk technologies developed at Kraig Labs are ready for large-scale production."
from 10-12-23 pr:
"We are proud to announce that we are fully integrating key members of Fraser’s spider silk program into our operations. This has given us a tremendous needed boost to our operations as we prepare for the successful relaunch of spider silk production."
so in May, July and August kblb was on track and on schedule...in Oct they were ready for large scale production...and later that same month they said they were ready for the relaunch of production...
"Investors badly need clarification on how much additional time is needed."
you already have it...and its "soon"...lol
"Kicking the can down the road because Kim and Jon ‘need enough time’ is not prudent financial advice. Sorry."
no need for apologies...just sell...
personally, i dont think they were actually on schedule and i think it will be a few months more...
but im ok with that...
"Darren Woods was the first Exxon Mobil (XOM) CEO to ever attend a COP climate summit since the meetings began in the early 1990s"
Exxon has always given the middle finger to that summit...now they show up with hat in hand pledging to do this or that...lol
"Exxon's (XOM) balance sheet and technical know-how mean the company can contribute to the climate discussion"
translation- we are big and smart and have a lot of money, so listen to us...smh
"and a global energy transition that must involve a range of solutions, Woods said"
translation- we are still going to pollute so you may as well hear us out...
"while rejecting the International Energy Agency's recent claim that using wide-scale carbon capture and storage technology to fight climate change was an implausible "illusion,"...
i always said that carbon capture and storage was joke, and an utterly stupid idea...but of course Exxon thinks its terrific...what a shock..
"and reiterating his belief that oil and gas will play an "important role" in the world through 2050."
translation- we are going to continue to drill, pump oil and pollute forever...but if you allow us to pretend to be a part of the solution, we might try to pollute less...
