From Gunluver on the Google MB [he has problems posting here]
Ford l Motor Co. says that Hydrogen fuel cells may be closer than previously thought. IMHO racing is going to be the catalyst that gets fuel cells accepted by the general public. With Hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles you can be both GREEN & MEAN!!!
Need for speed may spur fuel cell use
Ford's prototype car sets racing record
BLOOMBERG NEWS
Ford Motor Co. said a speed record set by the company's prototype fuel cell car this week may hasten use of the technology in its vehicles.
The car, powered by hydrogen and an electric motor, reached 207.297 mph Wednesday at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah, the automaker said. High-speed performance is a step toward getting such powertrains in cars and trucks available to consumers, said Mujeeb Ijaz, Ford's manager of fuel cell vehicle engineering, in an interview Friday.
"If powertrains are going to be real, they will show up at Bonneville and will show up in racing," he said. "Race cars have been where passenger-car powertrains have been developed."
Ford, the second-largest U.S. automaker, and competitors are under pressure from governments to reduce emissions and gasoline consumption. Fuel cells generate electricity in a chemical process that combines hydrogen and oxygen, with only water vapor as a byproduct under ideal conditions.
The car that Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford tested at Bonneville, called the Fusion Hydrogen 999, was built to be more aerodynamic than previous fuel cell prototypes, Ijaz said.
A fuel cell vehicle design for passenger cars is "still two or three years away," he said.
Car designers, drivers and race enthusiasts gather annually for Speed Week at Bonneville, the 159-square-mile dried lake bed of compacted salt that's ideal for setting speed records.
My take [Parents] Since Ford projects 2-3 years for passenger fuel cell cars, then NNLX is right on track to supply the hydrogen demand with economical hydrogen...So it appears that Ford's and NNLX's R& D development are evolving at a similar pace.
texas....my home state...answer YES and with a GREAT change in management. See the updates and news at:
http://www.nanologixinc.com
Agree....the generator uses "reformed natural gas" what is that? How do you reform gas?...We need to escape fossil fuels...fun fact has not yet been done but at least that would be better....LOL
Another investor just advised me that my posts come across as harsh....apologies to all and I believe I need to give up coffee forever...anyway I will relay any information I have that is useful or valuable and perhaps the relay will be more gentle without the coffee after effects...Parents
Sure you can email Investor's Relations and get the answers you need; it is that simple and the issue is not of concern to me; that was my point...the website issue was addressed to posters that asserted the permits at Erie were not granted; now that is on the website....thanks abew...wishing you well.
Not fair abew...I consistently post information and opinion on this message board, but how would I know whether construction had begun?...I believe that if a person can retrieve the information himself, he should not ask someone else. So why not email IR and ask? I was a bit weary with posters who did not know the permits were already granted in Erie. Why not read the website for yourself...Why expect others to read and study and relay the information readily available. Hope to see you again if you are ever interested...
You asked me:
Can you find out how long it takes to install?
abew...email Bret Barnhizer and ask yourself.
Do your own due diligence. I have no concern because Barnhizer keeps his time committments...and he did not state the FIRST day of Spring....Spring is a season, not a one day event.
In response to slimhere and abew....Welch has particular challenges because the corp washes its facilities at scheduled times thus creating a high PH with soap that stops hydrogen production; as long as clostridia was the only bacteria, Dr. Diz did question whether in a facility like Welch, hydrogen production would be commercially viable; however, since Dr. Diz discovered the strains of photobacteria, he has a different view as seen in the latest PR which I quote below. Also, NNLX's primary focus is city sludge which this photobacteria is efficient in extracting hydrogen, superior to other strains. And its application to Welch could even make that facility commercially viable...Now although a photobioreactor has not been done, you can project the extaction success in laboratory experiments which are not difficult to replicate in an actual bioreactor. So we have far more than theory folks. Please posters do some research; Erie Wastewater Treatment has already granted permits...read everything on the NNLX website and the information is there! From the last PR:
"Harry R. Diz, Ph.D., PE, Associate Dean, and Chair, Dept of Environmental Science & Engineering at Gannon University, Erie, PA who manages NanoLogix's Bioreactor stated:
"We continue to operate the Welch's experimental system and are producing hydrogen daily. Our research objective is to maximize hydrogen production through finding the optimal temperature and investigating the use of photobacteria for secondary treatment for both waste streams like Welch's and sewer sludge to convert organic acids which are generated in the Bioreactor during primary treatment. Theoretically, this could triple the hydrogen yield compared to what is being produced now at Welch's.
To this end we have constructed several "photobioreactors" for growing the photobacteria. We also project installation of a prototype Bioreactor at the Erie Wastewater Treatment Plant in Spring 2008."
Thanks aslfS...I had not seen the Q&A part of the news letter.
On the home page of NNLX website, the intention of installing a prototype bioreactor in Spring 08 at the Erie Wastewater Treatment Facility; however, under the Technologies link, the intent is to pursue grants or financing for a full-scale commercial bioreactor. I believe that is the goal and Bret Barnhizer does manage to achieve stated goals when he projects a specific time line.
I found this statement on the website under news in a letter to shareholders :
"Our medical devices division, Designer Diagnostics, has also seen important progress
with the development of our Nontuberculous Mycobacterium (NTM) and Tuberculosis
(TB) test kits. The recent in-vitro analysis of our TB test kit showed that our technology
can achieve accurate results within 10 days rather than the currently available technology,
which can take up to 8-10 weeks for results"
And remember abew....at least NNLX does have a working prototype inside the Welch facility...a paper has been written regarding it, a presentation at the National Hydrogen Asso meeting has been made, and there are new research breakthroughs that triples H2 production without the addition of switchgrass or wasted grape juice... and a commercial facility planned for Spring of 08 in Erie, PA....We have more than theory; we have a working model....
I believe your post shows that a living organism is the most efficient machine and, hence, microbes, the most efficient mechanism to separate hydrogen from waste,...This is the heart of NNLX's novel process.
Well Humm....since Bret Barnhizer reads this message board, I am sure he is impressed and will offer you a position after you receive your PhD ! Thanks for reading the links and your analysis.
Humm....check email and MSN eom
I believe Bret Barnhizer/Dana is working on that....eom
Well Humm...I knew I had mispelled ammonia...thanks However, waste water is a composite of many things so you must separate the ammonia from the rest...how much energy is required to do that if that is your source?...my point is that specifics of data were not given in the link, so we do not know if this is REAL competition.
Thank you for posting this link; however, if this breakthrough were an earth-shattering answer to our energy needs, then why not more specific projections as to how much energy is required for the generation of hydrogen and how much energy is released by the hydrogen. How much energy does it take to manufacture and transport amonia? With NNLX, the process involves microbes which do not need to be paid or manufactured but just fed...with waste water and biomass, food already being generated and present. As a former poster stated graphically...American is a playground of waste...
So at this point we cannot say that this technology represents competition at all. Just my view
Hummm.....check your email ASAP; thanks
Actually I copied and pasted it from the NNLX website under the "Technologies" link.
http://www.nanologixinc.com/index-4.html
That part seems to have been rewritten and would be effective in a pamphlet; also glad you will not include your phone number...that advice was not wise and I am glad you discerned bad advice. Wishing you well Hummingbird
ADD this from the technology link on the NNLX website:
This part of the website must have been recently rewrttten because NNLX is pursuing grants for a commercial bioreactor:
Also Humm...since these are close neighbors I would include your phone number for further discussion/questions and have a real grasp of everything on the website to field questions:
"Nanologix's patented renewable Hydrogen production method, instead of using the traditional energy wasting methods requiring natural gas or electrical power, creates Hydrogen out of waste water and other biomass using bacteria in a Hydrogen Bioreactor. The natural bacteria eat the hydrocarbons in the waste and exhale Hydrogen gas. Not only does this truly create Hydrogen energy, it also cleans the water. To the best of our knowledge, Nanologix is the only public company producing Hydrogen from waste. That leaves the other major problem, storage/transportation. The Nanologix Bioreactor process solves those problems too. The Hydrogen can be converted to mechanical or electrical power on site. If more energy is produced than can be used, it can be transported over the existing and highly efficient national electrical grid.
We believe this is clearly the best solution in Hydrogen production. Renewable Hydrogen production puts Nanologix in the right place at the right time. The American government and many other organizations are aggressively funding, through grants, Hydrogen production research. There is the Hydrogen Award from Congress and literally millions of dollars of grants available for Hydrogen research. One small company has already received two separate $2 million grants in the last year for research in this area. Nanologix is well positioned to win such grants and we have already proven at Welch's Grape Juice factory that our Hydrogen Bioreactor technology works. A video is available of a NBC-WICU News story on the Nanologix Bioreactor at Welch's . Starting in 2Q 2007 Nanologix is pursuing grants to advance our Hydrogen technology and scale up to full size commercial bioreactors."
LOLOLOLOLO thanks
However, doing a pamphlet has legal implications of promoting the sale of a security so the appropriate disclaimer must be included as : "this pamphlet is not a promotion or solicitation for the purchase or sale of a security; just a sharing of what I discovered on NNLX Website [www.nanologixinc.com] and I now hold x numbers of shares. Each investor must do his/her own due diligence or seek the advice of a licensed financial planner/broker before investing" imo
Go for it Hummingbird...eom
I am here and monitor the boad each day!eom
Not crazy because NNLX is developing according to my expectations with Barnhizer at the helm. Otherwise, your post is accurate and true. IMO
Excellent post and analysis; thanks eom
Marathon's web address is:
http://www.insidemarathon.com/
The management team is exceptional
Thanks for the post and link; it is amazing the information that comes up on this board. Thanks eom
No we do not think you are crazy; this is just not the time for you to take a significant position; abew4me has the same mindset and that may be prudent; having said that, what I do not appreciate is your complaining. Just watch from the sidelines until you feel confortable. Also I resent you subtle implication Bret Barnhizer is misleading anyone. Without his leadership there would be no NNLX to complain about. Did you forget - this company was to be demolished by Felder & company in a notorious scheme and conspiracy to hold a "shareholders' meeting" without notifying the shareholders LOL....just my view of things...
ted...you have been accumulating quite a number of shares; what are your thoughts on this investment; thanks
Thanks - that is an illuminating case because the CEO pumped Whole Foods and bashed the company Whole Foods was trying to acquire...now that is manipulation ; however, in order to show the market was manipulated, that is a hard burden of proof don't you think?; maybe if the company's stock dropped with every bash but so unlikely. In order to sucessfully prosecute it must be on some strict liability theory and of course if the CEO posted inside information that is material and likely to affect the share price. Thanks
Thanks and I appreciate your reply but if you know of a link as I requested in my prior post, I would really like to use that information for Multiple Bashers Inc. LOL
ted...do you know of a specific SEC case where a poster was prosecuted when he posted several times a day a positive opinion under different names. Wow I would love a link because I have seen many instances on Yahoo where I am sure posters bash stock using different IDs. I have always wanted to turn them in LOL; thanks
ted...I agree and have never posted with another name or posted material inside information [I possess none], but have done nothing more than express my opinion. In each post, I make clear that I am expressing my opinion or my view or my take [never an assertion of absolute fact]. Just because it is positive does not make me liable. I am curious though, why would you caution me along the lines we agree upon? Did you imagine I am posting under different names??? That itself is a violation of I-Hub rules and not permitted anyway. And I am not computer savy to know how to circumvent the rules.
shushi....the last tick was five thousand buy; big spending indeed!
Thanks for the information and this is valuable for understanding policies of the SEC regarding CEO posting; remember the CEO had pumped Whole Foods and had bashed another. Bret posted when he was a consultant and did not violate any SEC policy; as CEO he posted a few times to encourage investors but did not reveal anything material in my view. Now he uses PRs only so the issue is resolved. BTW I am not an insider so I am free to express my opinions...
And you rocketeer...are extremely gracious; thanks eom
Hummingbird - I think you are right. I now convey my apologies to slimhere and rocketeer for being too harsh. Thanks.
Wishing you well rocketeer! eom
