There are a lot of longs here that are heavily invested and beleive in the technology and current leadership. We have weathered side steps and rescheduled dockets many times in the past. Regardless, we are still in the best position we have been in years. Sure some of us were dissapointed to hear that the state court case was delayed yet again. We'd all like more visibility into the motive of current management, however we don't have it so we need to go off court documents and inside purchase as cues.
I suspect the next significant movement is when news of the t-mobile settlement comes down. If the federal case is postponed, the stock will dip again. If a settlement is reached it will spike through the roof, and if it proceeds to the marksman hearing, it will most likely go up as the results of the hearing are published.
There is a large body of investors who are intersted in keeping this stock around 10 cents a share or seeing it increase. We've seen a strong position here over the past two months. Many people on this board dissagree with your assessments of the circumstances and the facts that are on the table.
So far today we've seen over a million shares traded for a swing of 1.5 cents or about 15%. I suspect that we will lose or gain back another 5% or so.
I, along with most of the longs on this board are not opposed to hearing different interpretations of the facts that have been presented, however just making doomsday predictions without concrete evidence does not improve your credibility and it insults the intelligence of folks who have been following this drama for years.
What kind of evidence do you have to support your opinions?
What is your basis for saying that Calypso will not win the state or federal court cases considering the mountain of evidence that suggests otherwise?
Just a few weeks ago you said that you couldn't predict anything after the end of the year. What makes you so sure that Calypso will lose now? What information do you have that many of us don't seem to be privledged to that you've obtained in the last few weeks?
Regardless of the facts, people trade primarily based on emotions - fear and hope. The facts remain unchanged by the move of the court date.
- DAIC still is a scum and has kept Calypso from realizing deals
- T-mobile and many others are still in infringment
- Calypso retains the rights to fully litigate the patent
- 90 day stay is coming to a close for the T-mobile settlement option, marksman hearing approaching
- Calypso has legal representation for both state and federal case
- Settlement with T-mobile still in their best interest
I think quite a few people were hoping this stock would pop by the end of the year and were looking for quick profits - myself included. That is still a very real possibility with the t-mobile case.
It is going to be interesting to see the dip on this thing before the day is out - almost 800k shares traded in the last 40 minutes.
Well we have the marksman hearing coming up, and regardless of the state court case, T-mobile is still in the hot seat.
You bring up an interesting point about the T-mobile case also being extended. Even though Calypso is fully in a position to negotiate a settlement with T-Mobile, they may be unwilling to until the state case is resolved. We have no way of knowing their intentions. It will be interesting to read all the court docs as they come out to see what has transpired over the last week.
I suspect that right about now we should be looking for another insider investment.
I have also been invested in CLYW for about 6 years now and don't plan on liquidating any of my current position based on the news. There will most definately be a dip today in the share price as many folks sell who were waiting to see how November panned out. Some folks simply won't want to hold the stock through the end of the year for tax purposes.
This is a very interesting predicament for shareholders because if the T-mobile case does end up settling in the next month, folks who jump out thinking that a settlement was contingent on the state course will be quite upset when they find out that it wasn't.
Quite a few shares will change hands today as some folks will perceive the new court date as a bad omen and some as a good one. It will be nice to watch how this impacts the 90 day stay on the T-Mobile case. It may mean that a settlement is extended or that one is reached prior to the resolution of the state case.
What reasons would folks have to purchase 200 shares at .10? Brokerage fees alone would be like $6-$10 on the trade. And who would sell just 200 shares? Would love to hear other folks suggestions...
I just had to read that letter again for postarity. I remember reading it a year ago and hoping that we would be out of the woods in short order. Here we are a year later and merly days before a trial. Looking forward to the events in the next few weeks.
In the past the slight uptick has usually followed a day or two before some kind of news. It may also be folks realizing that there isn't too much more time to get in on this stock at these levels.
Good morning fellow longs. Let's see what this week has in store for us.
REFRMANIAC - I reposted that message that folks wanted to make sticky.
Just to clarify. Making VOIP calls over Wifi does not present a problem with the ASNAP patents. There seems to be a lot of folks on here confused about this. ASNAP represents the holy grail of mobile communications, which is the seemless switching between unlicensed and licensed spectrums with no interuption to service.
This is precisely what T-mobile utilized in their hotspot@home product that has been on the market for the last few years and why we are taking them to court over patent infringement.
Why this is a beneifit is because licensed wireless spectrum is sold at a premium to wireless carriers. Unlicensed spectrum like WiFi and bluetooth, is free to use and anyone can use it. Cell towers are notoriously expensive to lease and maintain. T-mobile is positioning themselves uniquely in the industry by augmenting their cellular offering with wifi support for calling. Once they secure a license to the ASNAP patent, it will be a few software changes to the Android wifi calling product to make it seamless. They will be first to market amount US carriers if they can wrap this lawsuit up and get it out there onto an already exploding android platform.
THAT is why this patent is so valuable. Anyone can do VOIP over wifi. Seamless mobility is where it is at.
The folks on our current BOD know this and see the writing on the wall. This is where the entire cellular industry is headed.
Think about it. In a single Android device you could have cellular, sattalite, and wifi and wherever you are your device could switch to the most cost effective transport. Most devices on the market now support all this in terms of hardware. The software is the key and we have the patent.
Would you mind making the follow post sticky for folks who are looking for a quick understanding of the value of these patents. A few folks have sent me messages about it saying it was a good write up.

This is how I see it too. Good writeup HR.
It is getting hot in the kitchen. This whole thing could be a television drama series.

Lol... checking it as often as you do probably isn't helping your productivity.
That's called positioning yourself for a large influx of capital.
lol... so true
I certainly don't mind all the shorting... I'm in under .05 as well and love the opportunity to pick up some more in the .11 range.
With last weeks performance, we probably attracted a lot of penny stock day traders this week.
Interesting downward pressure on the stock this morning with 400,000 shares traded... people must be waiting for that gap with a hopes to get in around .14
Some additional news dear long suffering longs.
I was reading several posts on my phone from engadget.com and I noticed they floaded an article about t-mobile offering a wi-fi calling app to Android folks in the near future. No seamless switching. What was interesting is the folks over at engadget.com posted an article about the HotSpot@home service three years ago. You can read about it here:
http://mobile.engadget.com/2007/06/27/hands-on-with-t-mobile-hotspot-home/
I tipped them about the t-mobile settlement and the calypso patent portfolio as well as the current share price. Hopefully they do a write up on it for tomorrow.
I would encourage all of you to get the word out on any other penny-stock boards, news outlets, online blogs and whatnot so we get some real money into this thing this week.
I agree with these assessments as well.
We'll definately see some foot traffic from folks wondering... what the heck is going on with this stock... we take it for granted that all of us have had our noses in this thing for years... but for the most part... there is very little news out on the Internet about CLYW from an outsiders perspective... it is starting to hit peoples radar and with such a huge week in terms of volume and gains and more folks will be pouring over these message boards this weekend for sure... Monday is going to be a massive day for everyone... I suspect we will finish with a slight uptick before close of trading... around the .16 to .17 mark.
Plaintiff had some excellent info although he took things a bit too personal at times. And asnap was great too... man I miss all the old timers. I remember when I was a green horn with this stock... I've regained all of my losses and them some. Had the chance to secure a huge position at .022 and doubled that at .05
Just beautiful. My prayer is that we will stick it out and make a business of this thing. The potential is just so massive and neccisary. What cell phone doesn't have wifi anymore? Imagine a completely converged IP6 world wide network of long range wifi, cellular, short ranged RF, and sattalytes in which your telecom device seamlessly roams and switches all of them for voice and data regardless of where you are. AND every device would be uniquely addressable in all the world.
This is where this is going people - just read between the lines. And CLYW has the key to the whole thing.
That was excellent downsideup. I would also like to add that this is not just a US patent. CLYW owns patent rights to this thing in much of the world and also has a pocket full of other patents that are also being infringed on.
Furthermore, we don't just have the big 4 to pursue for patent litigation. There are many many companies that are in the business of providing the technical means for the hand off. Think of the companies that produce the hardware for making the t-mobile@home product work. And the transport for the data. The chip manufacturers that imbed the code into their products. The pockets are huge here.
I have been following this stock for almost 7 years and have been investing in and out for just as long. Would love to see the old heads come back to the board. Didn't Final4 promise all the longs a huge party back when we were supposed to have a shareholders meeting? Come on who remembers that?
Anyhow I think that Qualcomm is an excellent comparison to this company and with Dave and Terinni at the helm, I think we have the leadership to hire the right people. We already have compitent legal representation in the wings and many powerful firms that have already offered to represent us. Remeber the Acacia deal? They were willing to front us 5 mil just for the right to prosecute and collect some of spoils of war.
This thing is headed for much higher than $2 if we retain the patent.
The way I see it, the following things could happen:
- T-mobile licenses the patent
- T-mobile exclusively licenses the patent
- T-mobile offers to buy CLYW and does so
- T-mobile buys up all the shares of CLYW at market price and secures a controlling position
- CLYW offers its patent portfolio to the highest bidder
- CLYW creates a real company in the convergence business, hires some folks with real vision and creates a powerhouse of a company in the telecom industry
All of those are posible considering the evidence over the many years. If t-mobile is willing to settle, they know there butt is hanging out, that CLYW has a case and the patent has incredible value. I don't see a down side to this thing.
All I have to say is where is Final4... he always has some great insights... I miss some of the old heads that used to frequent here... we had some really great convos... remember when the iHub used to be full of stuff that you had to scroll for like a minute to get to the message posts... we could use a good moderator / shareholder dedicated to keeping the details of this whole thing in the forefront.
Up almost 90% in one day is going to definately raise some hairs tonight as folks review the numbers. Consecutive strong volume over the last four days is going to help as well. Looking forward to another banner day tomorrow folks. Doubled my position today - think I am going to pick up the new Civilizations 5 tonight and a new rig to celebrate!
I would not be surprised if we crested .10 by close of market.
Yeah seriously... this thing has legs today... and why not... tomorrow once the news that this thing has hit 100% or more in a single day... everyone and their mom will be on this like white on rice.
Man I am not going to get anything done at work today... might as well just take the rest of the day off.
PA - 45 minutes west of philly
Thank you whoever just sold me another 95k
I will take another 95k at .05 if anyone else wants to sell me so more.
What a great day... wish I could have doubled my position at .02 or less... but I will take .05 any day of the week.
SOMEBODY SELL ME ANOTHER 80k at .05 so I can fill my order
We are actually looking for a quality assurance software guy... wanna send me your resume?
