Oops...Please delete ME! (when you have a minute.:>)
I do remember one day when it stung the bastards just a bit...and it ran to $19.67 (I think). I worked for a company where I had to get permission to trade so I couldn't get out 'til it dropped back into the 16s. More than doubled my investment but perhaps also the worst day of my investing life....I got hooked on Amarin. It's been a very costly journey, hoping for a little reprieve in the not too distant!
It's hard to believe there are still so many wackos shorting Amarin today. How can they possibly know something the rest of us don't know? They deserve to be shredded by this market.
Boy, would I love to take Judge Engelmayer out for a cocktail after work tonight! Wonder if he'd still have the respectful tone re: The FDA?
I want to add my voice as well StumblingBear and thank you for your excellent observations. Thanks also to 1nicolas1 and oneragman....greatly appreciate.
I probably spent time in your neighborhood over the years, Bomber. New Smyrna Beach, Port Orange, Daytona and Ormond Beach unless you're further west towards Orlando? Been up and down the west coast as well but prefer the south east. I was just puffing a little in that last post, starting to believe that Amarin (and by extension, the rest of us) may actually come out of this OK. Quite honestly I prefer the normalcy of living west of the ICW, more golf courses and still beach accessible. Just so long as I'm out of New Jersey!
I spent the winter of 2015 in a rented condo just west of Jog Rd in Delray Beach, FL. Very nice, but I'm hoping that during the winter of 2016, I've moved to the eastern side of the ICW and am spending a good deal more quality time shopping for my new boat. Go Amarin!
yOU ARE WITHOUT EQUAL suckitup!
Any currently FDA approved drugs could then be discussed regarding off-label uses. That should be adequate incentive for BP, they have plenty of drugs!
Yo-yo, Cee Lo! And one more FU from Gnarls Barkley too!
Janet (from another Planet - Hranus!)
Any chance for publishing Economist Brief and Docket 65?
Thanks HD, forgot the bump in HDL-C occurred. (as stated in Ketchum - Pg 5).
In ANCHOR, did Vascepa lower HDL-C?
STS, read it again. They did not suggest that Vascepa has an impact on CHD or on any CHD risk equvalent. The CHD reference merely qualified a portion of the overall patient population.
Will, he has unfortunately become devoid of any rational thoughts when it comes to Amarin. When the stock moves up, he's elated but when it moves down, he's deflated. Pop, pop, today!
I'd say you're coming out a loser on those odds, Invest.
It's hard not to fault the Titan Management Team, they have just not been promoters of anything about this company. It's just too hard to believe that they just don't get it, I mean, they're going to run out of money! So I ask myself how can these smart guys be so stupid? And the only answer I can come up with is....they aren't. They know, I mean THEY KNOW there's more than we've been told. It's the only explanation that makes sense to me.
In the aftermath of the Annual Meeting and much of the negativity that started to hit this board, I thought about selling out and looking for a new, lower entry price. I didn't but I bought 10K more shares because I remembered J&J/Google, SONY and Dr. Fowler. I may yet get rich from this investment......or maybe they really are a bunch of stupid a-holes. I'll know pretty soon!
Jesus H. Cnrist!!!
Zman, is that for real...did FDA really make Amarin change their logo?
Yeah, I keep reading in claims from the FDA and their attorneys of how Amarin never tried to clarify their expectations regarding allowed speech under FDA labeling regulations. Then I hear from BB that Amarin had at least 24 written communications in an attempt to negotiate an Anchor labeling compromise. I mean @%>#+&....AMARIN WAS ONLY GIVEN A REASON TO ARGUE LABELING AFTER THE FDA SCREWED THEM ON THE ANCHOR SPA!. THEY HAD JUST BEEN CRITICALLY WOUNDED!!!
So from that point the FDA says to Amarin, "Come on down and we'll chat over some tea and scones, sure we'll let you communicate what you're asking for....just check our draft guidance". "Hell, you know you can trust us!" But Amarin didn't come because this isn't real. What's real is that the FDA slammed the door...what they wanted was for Amarin to "just fade away".
This deluded, arrogant FDA that hasn't given this company or its stakeholders an iota of respect in any shape or form right from the beginning, has been handed a surprise. The court said give Vascepa NCE. Next the court will grant the 1st Amendment injunction. Maybe after that, the court will explain to Woodcock the difference between a DS and a Pharmaceutical. Surprise, surprise!
(Gee Jane..uh Janet...where is Dan Akroyd when you need him?)
Will, in your statement to the HHS-OIG:
The report implies physician should recommend ??? ---out of pocket---??? OTC “fish oils” be substituted for Vascepa.
My complaint will be filled by Monday June 30th. S/B Tuesday
Will, where did you discover the 24 negotiation letters from Amarin that you mention? Were they supplemental exhibits from the DOJ in the 1st Amendment case?
I agree with your assessment bobby, this will need a while before it finds it's way into any medical devices, but it does demonstrate the commitment to creativity at Google. They remind me of the "old" NASA and the myriad projects they had going on finding solutions before they had even identified the problems. Back then, there was money being invested into scientific discovery and Google does a lot of the same type of research. Man oh man, they'd make a hell of a partner for Titan!
Good presentation, can't imagine how they messed up data on slide 11. Most won't really notice but misrepresents product/Omega 3 type.
Chu, amazing find!!! This new technology from Google is about as slick as anything I've ever seen. Bravo to our future partner.....I hope!!
The document cited is the HHS OIG Data Brief from June 15 discussing questionable billing and potential fraud in Med Part D.
http://oig.hhs.gov/oei/reports/oei-02-15-00190.pdf
On Pg 8 is the commentary about Vascepa and Lovaza. Shows a total misunderstanding of the nature of prescription Omega 3s. Suggests that OTC Omega-3 supplements could be used instead of prescription. Dear God.
See my post #52376. As far as they're concerned, it's FISH OIL, nothing more.
BC, the mindset of Dr. Janet (from another planet) is clearly apparent....there's nothing else to know. She and her cronies at FDA have never viewed Vascepa (EPAe) as a legitimate pharmaceutical agent and they never will. Trying to go the FDA "way" with Vascepa was always going to be a battle, at best, and an abject failure at worst. Their negative bias is palpable.
Amarin is finally in the right place where it may be possible to expect fair treatment...the Judiciary. It's not a slam dunk but perhaps the only way to score some points from the outside. They have excellent legal representation and they will need it. After reading the response from the DOJ lawyers, it's abundantly clear that FDA is not planning to surrender an inch of territory without a blood-bath!
Now, now...let's remain civil. They are probably just waiting for us, as investors, to volunteer to upgrade their corporate infrastructure. After all, didn't you say they all believed they were bringing premium value to the table.....thus the Options Program! I'll kick in 10 bucks, they must be worth it....they said so!
Sorry Zip, I don't quite see the point you're trying to make here. Enjoy reading your posts.....GLTA!
BB, wondering what makes you think that? I didn't see anything to give that indication. But I do hope you're right, all shorting should be banned until they reinstate the "uptick" rule.
It's a little odd to me as well but....this whole situation suddenly went dark! Nobody is writing anything, nobody is broadcasting...figure that out!
BB, the July 10 Options are available but no one is trading them yet. Not really so unusual for a future dated weekly option. There is some activity in the 2s, 2.5s and 3s expiring on July 17th, the normal monthly cycle. Doesn't look like anything extraordinary here though...at least not yet!
Was there any sort of formal statement or prohibition on media coverage of this 1st Amendment case? I expected at least some commentary from the "usual suspects" pertaining to the amicus filings.
Unless the J&J/Google partnership is rejected by DOJ, I have a strong feeling that there won't be any expiring warrants. All of the warrants will wound up in the money and be executed.
Involvement of the "Warrant Holders" may not be warranted in future Titan capitalization plans, HC. If you've been following recent discussions here, you might not have much time left to get back on board this train. In fact, concurrent with the J&J/Google partnership approval targeted within the 2nd Qtr, the Titan express may be leaving the station. Hope you're not making a decision you'll always regret!!
By the way North, thanks for the link....as you pointed out, that drug and device blogspot published an excellent summary!
I purchased 10K this morning at $1.35 and it looks very happy in my account with all its brothers and sisters. GLTA
What makes you think she'll comprehend it? That's a level above her reading skill.
