Bob, I was visiting some relations down in WVa and asked one lawyer who is active in timber and mineral leases what going on. He says GAS, lots of new leases and drillers go 5000ft down into Marcellus shale then open a chamber that will flow for years. The wells cost 1 to 3 million each but the higher NG prices make it payoff. Chesapeake CHK says they have a million acres under lease, Dominion (D) which also is actively building wind farms near our vacation home in Canaan Valley,WV also holds large acreage as does Cabot Oil & Gas COG.
Another smaller player is called PetroEdge but couldn't find any symbol.

The other article was in the Charleston Gazette, March 23
"Getting ready for a Gusher" maybe online.
Could resist buying more APV.to on this surge to 2.25. Hope springs eternal.
Bob, me too. Apv.to APVNF.pk woke up strongly also. Solar stuff strong today again.
Icon good observation on SNDK turn around today. Thanks Cramer.
He can change his long term opinion quicker than anyone else I've ever heard in this business.
Cramer nose everything, amazing.
Paul, Just got home late last night after two days of travel. NTRI has yet to pop but its surely ticking. Don't really know if this new world need ntri ideas but the new miracle weight loss drugs are getting some real shi*ty reviews; and like I said its maxed out on the short side ( I like the long calls but like to short (hedge) the positions into expirations) but I can't borrow any ntri or cds either. I can borrow sndk, and some others.
I do believe this new world is going to need lots of SNDK's stuff so I'm long its options. As usual the more conservative options (like the July 22.5) don't perform nearly as well as those way out of the money like the distant 30 strikes which like are 5/6 baggers already.
I know you know all this stuff, I'm just feeling a little giddy right now.
Paul, How about cheering a little for NTRI, its maxed out on the short side and much cheaper than peers plus summer options are cheap too. SNDK july 30 calls (1.20)tripled on this wave; hope they triple again, I'm holding a double in the July 22.50 calls and hope we'll see sndk trading at $38 again.
Bob,
Ref:copper prices well above the price used in the study, with an expected increase in cash costs to between only $1.00 and $1.30 per pound copper, depending on the type of ore being processed. The increase in operating costs is quite small in relation to the increase in the copper price.
"Prices Well above original plan" is being overlooked apparently.
Maybe this one will be another Mercator (mlkkf)
Thanks Paul, but my record is humbled by a stopped clock.
Life ain't fair but a hard run by the techs into April option expiration would make lots of folks feel better.
Tuna, I was surprised by the volume of shares available under $8.
Watching the options there was big buyer of sept 7 1/2 calls sometime last month and now some interest in sept 10's.
But today was a tad disappointing.
20 mil shares @ $10 = 200M or 1 times rev if we project recent quarter.
Paul, was out all day, glad to see sndk simmering anyway. Its wasted lots of true believers but I agree with the Alpa blogger thinking its ripe for a takeover if nothing else.
Paul and Tuna, Checkout my CDS $7, way under the radar, lots of potential for lift off and cheap options too.
Reported 4th quarter rev this morning:
China Direct 4Q Rev $58.27M Vs $13.5M >CDS

Speaking of donations, I filed a complaint about the 44 million shares issued to insiders only in Feb which cut our minority interest down to next to nothing.
I saw that as a forward split for insiders only. Still interesting prospects. Would have liked to see the mkt reaction if they reported the same net with less than a million o/s.
CYID (iava) $1.70 last trade 1.30/40.
CYID posted 2007 earnings yesterday of .12/share based on 12mil net/97 mil shares (outstanding at year end before 1/100 r/s, i think)
Then immediately after r/s in January they issued 44 mil new shares to insiders only and followed that with a PP for $14 million with $1.40 conversion feature.
Point being actual earnings per share are understated by at least 1/3 and if they continue their growth this year (media and travel in China)earnings should show strong momentum IMO.

Thanks Paul for posting that about Zeev. What a guy! What a life!
I repurchased positions in two of his old turnips yesterday, NTRI and SNDK.
Zeev I know you are up there, pray for us mere mortals.

2MG thanks for CHME. If they grow revenue 35% or better next year with margins improving to 30% I would think 25% increase in net would be conservative.
Also you mention a solar play Arise Tech APV.T awhile back, they are also on the doorstep of a big year with first plant coming on stream next week.
GOB bless you Zeev, You were the simply our best. Always helpful and willing to share, you are sadly missed. Rest in Peace, my friend.

CYID (iava)anyone hanging in there with me? 900K O/S, 320K float, reportedly earned 8 mil $ last 9 months? Will they report $2 earnings next quarter?
CYID I think your right about the a/s. If they plan to take it to another level exchange they better bid it up. No one is going to be too impressed with 800 shares at $3.40.
Maybe the PR guy they said they were going to hire within 90 days after the r/merger will be heard from shortly along with some real blockbuster numbers. Let hope.
CYID 1.10/3.40 now showing less the 1 mil 0/S,float 23%? How to kill a stock, Chinese water torture. Need new abacus,I think.
CEO said 'One way or the other". I hoping for "the other" and soon.
ATPG, I like that CEO opening remarks:
On November 3, 2005 ATPG stock closed at $35.16 per share. In 2005 we had annual production of 19.9 billion cubic feet, we had proved reserves of $2.7 billion pre-tax PV10 and we had annual revenues of $146.7 million with a net loss available to common shareholders of $12.6 million. Today, in March, 2008 our annual production for 2007 was 64 billion cubic feet and APT’s fourth quarter production of 20.2 billion cubic feet exceed the entire annual production of 19.9 billion cubic feet in 2005. Today we have proved and probable reserve of $5.3 billion pre-tax PV10 value with proved reserves alone of $3.5 billion pre-tax PV10 and for 2007 we had annual revenues of $599.3 million with annual net income available to common shareholders of $48.6 million. Again, fourth quarter revenues alone of $205.7 million exceeded the entire revenue of 2005 of $146.7 million and our share price closed Friday at $35 and change.
In your opinion will the advent of 3G negatively effect companies like AT&T or Apple? We have core positions in both.
Thanks
Smoke
MrBigz, Congrats and thanks for the tipoff on the Bloomberg contest. I go there nearly everyday and never saw any mention of a contest. I monitored closely the one yahoo ran years ago and found lots of good picks there.

arnie70, been there done that so many times. Trick em, dump only half. Seems to work every time.
TAM.V flying this am. .95 bids on volume.
CTEI second PR in just the past few weeks. The first one actually mentioned "250K" contract. Could it be the CEO is trying to wake this one up?
OK who dumped 250K? If it was the CEO he must be paying his kids monthly allowance but he could be selling just 25K for .05 if he publish some numbers with his PRs. Then he did mention 250K deal last pr which I took to be a good sign that maybe's he ready to unwrap this mystery.
I have never owned anything that can fly like Tam.v TMLVF. I sold half my TRGD to buy it back under .50. I sold it once near $3, bought it back near $1 and sold that a $1.50.
Some stocks just are lucky for me and then there are the other 80%
Of course forgot to mention the times they stopped me out trying to catch it under 55 (3) but at $50 I got brave again. Just sold it after remembering how it felt watching it drop.
TAM.V flying near $1 from .45 close. Just sold some for .97. wasn't that long ago it was $3.
Actually a better play would have been to buy it at $50.06 last week and hold it.
DRYS where will the shorts throw in the towel? $67 76 83?
Put them unwanted kittens in a suit case and air freight them to your mother-in-law.
Thanks Jim,
It really is or was that simple.
Right on, Wayne R. Thanks Buckey and everyone.
Who was the IHUB guy that signed everything "all stocks are SH-T" or something to that effect. In like my portfolio of pre-crashed pennies SH-T.
When I read about the housing crash, that really a joke (do all media guys live in trailers). Houses may lose some value but they don't crash, stock markets on the other hand are simply wallpaper stores, offering you a selection of growth or value paper, but its all basically paper and the promoters are for the most part self-serving SOBs.
One of the stats from that sell off I learned later was only 15% of the shares on the NYSE changed hands that whole year of 1987. As always the ones that didn't panic were the winners.
But its hard to do that and watch your portfolio all day long dive in real time. Which is why when you mentioned ordering certs out to avoid the temptation to sell is great advice for your core holdings.
I hardly ever look at the stocks in our lock box.
Thanks, YGE current PE ain't stupid cheap for sure, I'm believing it won't get much cheaper but that may prove stupid.
DRYS is whip-lashing a few shorts. Bought a little CY at $24 and YGE at $25 to hold and mold as I think they both are stupid cheap here like DRYS and ATPG
What recession? Based on the booking for ski weekends in Canaan Valley where we own a chalet business is pretty darn good. Our rental agent just reported 102 houses booked for this weekend, two other local agents have 50 between them and that's not counting the bookings at the two State parks. That' way up over last year. Our house is now booked solid through mid March.
Last year we had much better weather, more snow and less than half the bookings. But if the media continues to blitz us with recession talk, pretty soon we are sure to have one.
Exactly like the joke about the old man's hot dog stand that was doing great until his kid came back from college a told him about the recession and how to cut costs and stop advertising.
