it's horrible when it's already a hot day, 31 degrees C, and the smoke overhead traps the air creating, what they call, an inversion. Did you hear about that helicopter that went down on Nose Mountain as part of the fire effort? That was about 20 clicks from where I am working. It's really quite funny, working in a huge gas field and the fires being so close... I like the danger though, makes things more interesting. If you see the animals start running you better be hi-tailing it to.
