Jimmy Quick - Were getting close. But the E does not match Evans. Remember the (E) in evsyE is suppost to mean that Evans is late on their Quartly. Thos that you sent does not say that. Also I was looking under SEC and you were looking under Nasdac. Am I looking in the wrong place. Should I be looking under Nasdac instead of the SEC.
Thank you for your work in helping me.
saturn26 - Yes I know what the E is for. My question was what is the name of those letters so that I may look up all the letters. I know there is a list of them.
DOES anyone know what those letters next to the ticker, like the E in EVSY(E), ar called. I went to the SEC site to find the list of meaning but could not find it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With those notes out of the way, here's a few words on a game (and movie) rental by mail (over the internet) company that I had earlier experiences -- not good ones -- with. Consider this a follow-up to a much earlier article.
Here's my follow-up on Gameznflix.com. Some time back I gave them a test drive (actually a full-fare drive, since I paid for a month of service right away rather than wimping out and going with a trial period). At that point in time (much earlier in the year, January/February time frame), my experience was not that good, having never received one of the titles that was supposed to have been shipped to me during my subscription period (just under a month).
Several months have passed though, and still wanting to avoid paying too much money for my gaming fix, I decided to try Gameznflix.com again after waiting for a reasonable period and having heard some positive comments from other gamers I had encountered via Xbox Live.
Approximately a week and a day ago, I decided to sign back up for Gameznflix.com, this time in trial mode (14 days free). I submitted 3 different titles to the que, one of which had just been released (NCAA 07 for the Xbox 360) and then went back the next day and added 2 additional titles. All told I had requested 3 Xbox 360 games, and 2 PSP games (one of those was also a fairly recent release).
Today's mail delivery included the 3rd of the 3 items that I'm set to rent (3 titles out a time, unlimited rentals for $16.95 a month). I'm not sure where it originated from, but not unreasonable to show up today given the number of business days between initial request and today.
This was much better than my first time trying out the service. Earlier in the year when I tried them out they never could get the second disc/game to me (of 2 games requested) before I was forced to cancel as I was enterring a second month of service. It wound up showing up almost 2 full weeks after I had cancelled service.
Back then customer service was horrible (virtually non-existent) and I was forced to take alternate measures to find contact information to try to use to cancel my account and still be confident that I would not see a charge on my credit card for the lost game. I exchanged e-mail with a V.P. of the company several times over a few week period back then and made suggestions that they *please* raise their prices (yes, raise 'em) as they were so dirt cheap on rentals (2 discs out a time for about $13 a month) that they obviously weren't spending money on customer service.
There were apparently also a few non-flattering articles in mags like Consumer Reports that really got their attention and they've obviously worked very hard to improve things since that time.
They are still incredibly cheap at $16.95 for 3 out a time rentals. I am not certain how they are for customers reporting lost or non-received items (I've found Blockbuster Online and Netflix much better in that area in the past, but didn't experience that trouble this time with Gameznflix.com so can't tell for sure yet), a feature I was not happy with in my earlier dealings with them, but given the rapid response to customer service questions that I tried this time, I think I would be much happier if I had issues that needed to be resolved.
Partially as a test of their service, and also because I had a question about how their "buy" games feature works I submitted a question to customer service and found the question answered within just a few business hours. Much better than earlier when customer service was non-existent and questions that were submitted were never answered at all.
In answer to my question on their buy feature, where they show "Buy" and "Rent" buttons for every title, along with discounted "member" pricing for the titles you can buy, things were clarified immediately by their customer service's reponse. I was assuming that the "buy" feature would get you permanent ownership of a title you are renting but that isn't the case, or at least that is not what was confirmed by the customer service area. The question should really be on their FAQ's, and I suggested same, so that may happen in the future. Anyway, they will reportedly mail you a completely new copy, with manual and keep case, once you select the "buy" option. Selecting that option will wind up billing your credit card (that you have on file for rental). You have to remember to send back the rented copy (no rush, but the sooner you do, the sooner another title in your que is shipped to you) once you are done with that copy (normally when you receive your purchased copy).
Again, for me it seems that perhaps Gameznflix.com has resolved many of their earlier problems and is now worth getting a subscription from. I am quite pleased to be able to rent games for my 360 and PSP and save some $$ as compared to buying something that will just be devalued soon after I get it anyway.

BBI = TOAST => READ THIS!

1) I was driving with my wife and on comes the the business report from "1010 Wins News" detailing the most depressing news regarding Blockbuster quarterly results, mounting debt, downgrades on bonds, etc.
No matter how you listened, the story was so morbid, the listener could only conclude that the company was either in bankruptcy or soon to be defunct. This was heard by over 4 million listeners in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area. The perception created was that BBI was finished. True or not, the perception has been created.
2) We went out to dinner last night and across from the restaurant was one of the largest Block Busters I had ever seen. It was the size of a football field, with parking for 100 cars in front of the glass facade. And wouldn't you know it? Not a single customer in the store.
It was lit up bright in the night but no cars and no customers. There must have been 50,000 DVD's in this facility. I could not imagine the electricity, labor and leasing fees necessary to support this facility - all going to waste.
I then thought of Netflix working around the clock to get those DVD's delivered to customers, clearly a more efficient model.
But I have to tell you, even though I hate Blockbuster and the BBI idiots on this board, as a business man, it was downright depressing to look at that empty store.
Frank
Sorry I got confused. I am also in HISC stock, and thought I was on HISC board talking about HISC Electronics.
I personally would not want our Product in Radio Shack. When you think of Radio Shack compared to Major Electronic, that would derate our product down to the cheap emage. The Target market we are going after would frown if they knew if the CT came from Radio Shack. Radio Shack is just for basic Electronics.
I know what your intentions were, and I'm with you, if you notices I am just bringing my little lite
WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS
It will take sometning bigger than someone's Words to stomp this Faith Out.

About Homeland Integrated Security Systems:
ChrisJP - Back in April (appro.) they put out a report that said the board would take no pay untill the year end. Did that change and I missed it.

new yorker - I agree with you 100 %, there should be MORE PR. This Company SHOULD PR more. BUT there a few problems.
- From the Company's perspective, they Really do not know us, anyone can buy stock and say they are for the company. Other company's do this to try to get information. I have seen small company's put information out about TV advertisements. And then larger company's see this advertisement info to the share holders and go and pay more money to the network and steel their timeslot away. They do this so the smaller company does not get noticed.
- If compeditors see your plan and like it, they will try and take it.
- They hold us out and away because there is so many of us, they would never get any work done. I own another stock (gzfx) and that has been an issue there.
If I were CEO, I would pay someone inhouse to PR Q&A statements instead of 75,000.00 stupidness.
Knowing Your Rights As A Shareholder
http://www.investopedia.com/articles/01/050201.asp
Risks and Rewards
Sounds pretty bad for common shareholders, doesn't it? Don’t be fooled, common shareholders are still the part owners of the business and if the business is able to turn a profit, then common shareholders gain. The liquidation preference we described makes logical sense: shareholders take on a greater risk (they receive next to nothing if the firm goes bankrupt) but they also have a greater reward potential through exposure to share price appreciation, when the company succeeds. Whereas preferred stock is usually less in number, held by a select few and generally sees less fluctuations in its price.
Common Shareholder's Six Main Rights
1) Voting Power on Major Issues
This includes electing directors and proposals for fundamental changes affecting the company such as mergers or liquidation. Voting takes place at the company’s annual meeting. If you can’t attend, you can by proxy and mail in your vote. (see The Purpose and Importance of Proxy Voting)
2) Ownership in a Portion of the Company
Previously we discussed the event of a corporate liquidation where bondholders and preferred shareholders are paid first. However when business thrives, common shareholders own a piece of something that has value. Said another way, you have a claim on a portion of the assets owned by the company. As these assets generate profits, and as the profits are reinvested in additional assets, you see a return in the form of increased share value as stock prices rise.
3) Right to Tansfer Ownership
This, in other words, means you are allowed to trade your stock on an exchange. The right to transfer ownership might seem mundane, but the liquidity provided by stock exchanges is extremely important. Liquidity is one of the key factors that differentiate stocks from an investment like real estate. If you own property, it can take months to convert your investment into cash. Because stocks are so liquid, you can move your money into other places almost instantaneously.
4) Dividend Entitlement
Along with a claim on assets, you also receive a claim on any profits a company pays out in the form of a dividend. Management of a company essentially has two options with profits: they can be reinvested back into the firm (hopefully increasing the company’s overall value) or paid out in the form of a dividend. You don’t have a say in what percentage of profits should be paid out, this is decided by the board of directors. However, whenever dividends are declared, common shareholders are entitled to receive their share. (see How and Why Do Companies Pay Dividends?)
5) Opportunity to Inspect Corporate Books and Records
This opportunity is provided through a company’s public filings, including their annual report. Nowadays this isn’t such a big deal as public companies are required to make their financials public. This can be important though for private companies.
6) Suing for Wrongful Acts
Suing the company is usually in the form of a shareholder class-action lawsuit. A good example of this type of suit occurred in the wake of the accounting scandal that rocked WorldCom in 2002 where it grossly overstated earnings, giving shareholders and investors an erroneous view of its financial health. The telecom giant faced a firestorm of shareholder class-action suits as a result. (see The Biggest Stock Scams of All Time)
Remember, shareholder rights vary from state to state, and country to country. It is important to check with your local authorities and public watchdog groups. In North America, however, shareholders rights tend to be more developed than other nations and are standard for the purchase of any common stock. These rights are crucial for the protection of shareholders against poor management.
Corporate Governance
In addition to the six basic rights of common shareholders, it is vital that you thoroughly research the corporate governance policies of a company. These policies are often crucial in determining how a company treats and informs its shareholders. For a detailed look at the importance of corporate governance to shareholders and prospective investors as well as where to find a company’s record or policy, see Governance Pays.
Shareholder Rights Plan
Despite its name, this plan differs from the standard shareholder rights outlined by the government (the six rights we touched on). Shareholder rights plans outline the rights of a shareholder in a specific corporation. To acquire a company’s shareholder rights plan, it is usually accessible in the investor’s relations section of their corporate website or by contacting the company directly.
In most cases, these plans are designed to give the company's board of directors the power to protect shareholder interests in the event of an attempt by an outsider to acquire the company. To prevent a hostile takeover, the company will have a shareholder rights plan that can be exercised when another person or firm acquires a certain percentage of outstanding shares. For example, here is a quick summary of what Suncor Energy Inc, a Canadian oil and gas company, attempts to accomplish with their shareholders rights plan:
“The objective of Suncor's Shareholder Rights Plan is to ensure that, in the event of a bid for control through an acquisition of the company's common shares, the Board of Directors of the company has sufficient time to:
explore and develop alternatives for maximizing shareholder value
provide adequate time for competing bids to emerge
ensure shareholders have an equal opportunity to participate in such a bid
give shareholders adequate time to properly assess the bid and lessen the pressure to tender that is typically encountered by a shareholder of a corporation that is subject to a bid.”
The way a shareholder rights plan may work is likely best demonstrated with an example: let's say Cory’s Tequila Co notices their competitor, Joe’s Tequila Co, has purchased over 20% of its common shares. A shareholder rights plan might then stipulate that existing common shareholders have the opportunity to buy shares at a discount to the current market price (usually a 10-20% discount). This maneuver is sometimes referred to as a "flip-in poison pill". By being able to purchase more shares at a lower price, investors get instant profits and more importantly, they dilute the shares held by the competitor, whose takeover attempt is now more difficult and expensive. There are numerous techniques like this which companies can put into place to defend themselves against a hostile takeover. (see The Wacky World of M & A)
Board - I have an Idea
Since Netflix (Reed Hastings) has sold his Direct shares and is selling his Indirect Shares, along with other board members. My Spculation is Possably the CEO (Reed Hastings) could be selling Netflix,
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=NFLX
We all should tell JF to bye Netflix. I have actually done that already. That would be Great for us.
OT - new yorker - Well in that case, if your a finance major, watch Mad Money (Jim Cramer) on CNBC. I am not a finance major but an investor. I I have learned some simple thinking from him. Keep it simple, because you will need to keep a clear head when the key-oss happens. I am a Small Electrical Contractor in Orlando Florida.
Hope this helps
