JPM could have pirated WMII domain name and business name but they wouldn't likely use "Washington Mutual, Inc", which I abbreviate as WMI, unless they have bought WMI. After all, it is WMI that is suing them now. This wouldn't really make sense, even to a bold faced bully like JPM. The judge would be irate.
That's the point I make in my post just a moment ago.
Do you agree?
Again, there is a difference btw WMII and WMI but in the tiny text it mentions WMI at the bottom of this page:
https://www.wamu.com/wamuinvestments/Bridge.asp?targetUrl=/wamuinvestments/investmentshome.asp
You can read "Washington Mutual, Inc all rights reserved" That means JPM reserves all rights under the WMI trademark! That's a buyout,in my opinion.
A quote from the site you just posted:
"WaMu Investments will merge with Chase Investment Services Corp. (CISC)
at the end of day on May 1, 2009.
Beginning May 5, this website will be redirected to Chase.com,
which will support your online investment needs."
IF JPM is using the copyrighted trademarks in a legal manner, i.e. properly and legally, then JPM is planning, or has achieved, a buy out because the sites clearly state that WMI is now part of JPM.
The buyout seems to be already agreed upon based on the text at this site, https://www.wamu.com/investments/default.asp
but this may be another bullying tactic.
https://www.wamu.com/wamuinvestments/Bridge.asp?targetUrl=/wamuinvestments/investmentshome.asp
On this page, at the bottom, it clearly states that "wamuinvestmnets.com" has been copyrigthted by WMI since '98 and is now a division of JPM.
This is buyout language, for sure.
Thanks for the references.
I'm going to be watching WAMUQ and WAMKQ minute by minute this morning. Now that there is less predictability in the price movement the waiting game is more interesting.
By the way, it looks like someone scanned this old book and put it online:
The Seven Lamps of Architecture is now online at: http://books.google.com/books?id=7xNaYw1JL0IC&dq=The+Seven+Lamps+of+Architecture&printsec=frontcover&source=bl&ots=vAcn12iQHx&sig=5q07sQwkcLFKlrIYJzBr21TxgoI&hl=en&ei=le36SfPzAZ64tgOKgsXiAQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4#PPR14,M1
I had to add you to my marked ones. Good quote in your profile Jestiron:
"On the whole, it is patience which makes the final difference between those who succeed or fail in all things. All the greatest people have it in an infinite degree, and among the less, the patient weak ones always conquer the impatient strong." - John Ruskin (1819-1900)
I have been realizing that but hadn't seen the quote. It's like, watch, wait, and strike but watch and wait first.
Imagine a board of independent investors representing a large enough block of trades to swing large companies away from b.s. business plans!
Hedge funds would have their hands full with "us".
LOL
This is the new democracy, and the new world order.
Try to stay free so you can do what needs to be done NoW!
Think about it!!!
This has been my simple motto for decades. I mean it.
We are going to have to be a little bit crazy if we are going to survive... and that means being available in the present to do what needs to be done right now.. like right now.
I have little doubt that stuff happens, especially after the constant manipulation since December.
I want to move to New York for about 6 months and get up close and personal with the trading floor action as soon as I can afford it.
I don't like secrets! lol
The posters at this board have formed a bond of trust. Even if this thing goes awry, we know who is who and what is what with one another in the stock trading world.
The investing opportunities for all involved will continue to grow and grow, though maybe not as luscious and lucrative as this time.
See, this is the place for up to the minute news on some of the most influential banking industry news in our life time. CNBC has nothing on us.
The reason: hundreds of every day citizens stand to make serious money so, as a team, we are monitoring and sharing these developments.
That's cool. This is solidarity for justice AND, for those with the cash, a great flipping op.
It's all about one's own budget and available funds.
I simply don't have the luxury of leaving anything on the table with this opportunity. That makes me hungry and focused. It's not a bad place to be in life really.
It keeps me edgy! lol
This is like big game hunting for me... and this is the one I want, a trophy specimen that will set the stage for a new life style. I would rather count my chickens later.
The Senate is going to give the FDIC the money. Then the judge is going to be given an update on the legal options JPM, FDIC, WMI, i.e., the parties to the suit/s legally have and BAM! The deal will be struck. IMHO
See what I mean readers? Like Diamond says! This is a very repetitive theme with WAM*
Do the DD, and check out the posts. Remember, you can click on a user name and see all the posts each screen name has posted.
BK laws are not negotiable, even though JPM attorneys seem to be blowing smoke they will be humiliated but enriched nevertheless. And yet, JPM will win the bank branches, most likely. And, they will pay much more dearly then the measly 1.9 billion they say they have paid to date.
READ UP and HOLD ON.
I AGREE !!!!
Thanks for chiming in. The new investors here need to hear this.
High drama, now or later, but most likely Now, as in within a week or two.
imho
I know that the President and the Treasury as well as the FDIC really want this banking impasse to be settled. Why? Because many bankers want to know what the future of their holding company might be!!! If holding company property can be seized and kept, such as the 4 billion, then banking is "on ice" for awhile here in the U.S. while savvy businessmen figure out how to enter, exit and work in the banking industry with safety.

Since there are so many new posters here I would like to be perfectly clear, since I have gone out on a limb several times:
If you are not a little nervous today you are either brain dead or very experienced.
This is a not 100% certain bet, but it's a close as these things get, in my opinion.
If you are out, no. If you are in, yes.
imho
FYI for the newcomers; over the last 6 months we have been graced with some truly experienced attorneys and stock analysts here. All are in agreement that this is a once in a life time opportunity; like the depression era. Get in and stay in or be left behind.
Find other money to flip other stocks.
Don't be fooled and don't say you weren't warned.
This could be halted or sky rocket at any moment now.
The fact that the recent bill has passed, giving the FDIC the money it needs to settle is HUGE. This is a well developed opinion - yes, it is an opinion. One thing you can do is search this board for key words such as "settlement", "mordicai", "bopfan".
The drama here is high, the stakes are huge, and the egos are on the chopping block. Dimon vs. Obama vs. Bair vs. Weil vs. Stock holders vs. Bond holders vs. ... it goes on.
Bankruptcy law is clear. The judge must follow the law. The law says WMI has been damaged.
If you have any doubt take the time to read the filing by WMI against the FDIC. It will keep you from selling!
I agree with you Ornate. The MMs lost control yesterday and the day before but they are wrestling and manipulating. Those new to this stock should look at the chart for 6 months and see the constant effort of manipulation since December.
Thanks Contractor. One person backing me helps. It's easy to use quotes and a quick reference to author, isn't it?
Chase, I wrote that. You should use quotes and mention my screen name, dude.
I do too. Ken Lewis news cycle will be over and those stock holders will have had their day in the sun. Then on to JPM and Dimon and the bad news for him. Good news for WMI.
Thank you Mordicai.
I think this is going to be day traded to the max for the next week or so, or until big news hits. It's like musical chairs.
What does the word "production" mean to an attorney reading this bill Jackson posted? Based on the parties to the invoice and the stage at which we are at I'll be Mordicai or Bopfan could give us a good idea of what that word means in this context.
Back to .14 already. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's dipping a bit.
.142 x 1425 1x2
If you are here today, you will be here tomorrow and next week and the week after that IF you have even one brain cell.
This has to be one of the most researched investment ops of the decade. See the posts, the ihub front page and jeesse just look at this chart.
F'n good news, and finally.
I can use it now but I'm holding tough for the coming months.
I want money and justice. That's the satisfaction I'm looking for here.
Do not call a plumber! lol lmao
It's a flood, get your floats, boots, and paddles!
FYI, as of today, my money here has tripled in value.
Mike,
1. Good bet that WMI wins large law suits!
2. Institutional investors are long.
3. Go where the action is and keep an eye on your investment.
Other than that, read.
http://www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/4/4-202.html Some info from Universal Commercial Code and banking.
The UCC forms the basis of much our written law. It was established on "common law" assembled over centuries.

Investors who have been in WAMUQ for months have been given a rare opportunity on this board to discuss and learn about business law and investing-related rules and regs. The safety of our money is established by judicial precedents and knowledgeable contributions by people like Mordicai and Bopfan, as well as many others.
Excellent post, and good reporting too. The time has come. Keep on getting the word out, emails and things. Tell your friends, "there's gold in them there hills", meaning, WAMUQ, WAMKQ, WAMPQ
Yep, and then ridiculed by their client! lol
Wait a minute. The share price is eventually dictated by the number of outstanding shares divided by the company's net worth, or earnings, or profits; depending on things. WMI Must pay off debts and liabilities since they are in BK.
Any stock swap or cash payment in a settlement is going to reflect value much higher than $1, imho.
We don't know what the WMI market cap is but many think it is a number reflecting much higher than $1 per share. Damages from the suits in court now point to a number higher than $1.
"For example, if Cory's Tequila Corporation (CTC) was trading at $20 per share and had a million shares outstanding, then the market capitalization would be $20 million ($20 x 1 million shares). It's that simple." http://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/03/031703.asp
I had to use that quote because it mentioned Tequila and I'm in the mood today! Go WAMU.
Hi, If there is no news on Lehman then this move up might be created by MMs to shake WAMUQ longs out and over here! lol
Bair may loose her job to make this look good for all involved, since it isn't likely that the Treasury is going to be able to fire Dimon, but they will take Bair out to settle the score with the citizens, i.e. you and me.
imho
News? News? News? You're talking about "news" ? You're talking about "news"?
It's all about facts folks, and the news knows nothing about the facts. f'em and wait and see the price on the commons tomorrow.
Thanks for your posts today Diamond!
