Cough, cough. Splutter, splutter.
So that's what I was doing wrong.
Dino
My question was not as to the efficacy of the product. Inventive Health supposedly has placed the CigRx product for retail sale in the greater Richmond, VA area. I live there and have yet to see it on a shelf or behind a counter. What kind of marketing is that when the shopping center across the street from your HQ doesn't carry, and worse than that, has never heard of your product?
As I said in one of my posts, I order it on line from their web site. It's always been delivered promptly. I'm using CigRx until AnataBloc is available. So far, the results have been encouraging. The process seems to be cumulative. Arthritic pain took a long time to build up. I've already reduced it quite a bit, but I'm sure it will take quite a while to eliminate it - maybe never - after all, I've been abusing this body ever since I can remember. Come to think of it, falling off horses still counts as abuse, doesn't it?
By the way, JimLur, I quit riding for almost a year. After taking CigRx for a month or so I felt good enough to start again. Try doubling your dosage. The recommendation I got was 15 lozenges per day. I suck on them, 5 at a time, approximately every 8 hours. It's a nuisance, so I can't wait until AnataBloc is available.
Dino
There's no problem ordering it online. My first order was filled from California! The last one came from Carolina. If it's now available from Amazon, production must be pretty good.
It's beginning to look like I won't get out to the store before I have to leave this afternoon. I'll still ask for it whenever and wherever I can. The more requests retailers get, the more likely they are to enquire about carrying it.
Dino
Where can you buy this product OTC?
I tried to buy some at the grocery store pharmacy yesterday. They'd never heard of the product. Neither had the folks at the counter where you buy cigarettes.
Why does this matter? I was in Glen Allen, Virginia. That Martin's grocery store is only a couple of miles from the corporate headquarters. Today, I may try the shopping center across the street from their office.
Great marketing...NOT.
Dino
How do you prove a negative? Dang near impossible.
Tell you what. Lets revisit this in a year. Would that be long enough to convince you that he's gone? Or would a decade do? Century, perhaps?
Dino
Okay, almost 2 weeks ago now. Time flies when you're busy.
By the way, if you bought Jonathan Bryant's house, would that make you a dishonest person? That's essentially what a shell company is. If Bryant were still a major stockholder, I'd be worried too, but he's not.
Why do you think that CAPA has no chance of success? Is there a flaw in their business plan I haven't noticed? Or is it just because the corporate shell used to be owned by a bad guy?
Dino
I've tried/am trying it for inflammation. The good news is that it has relieved most of the pain in my right shoulder. I say most because yesterday afternoon, after 15 minutes of riding, it came back. Of course, both the horse and I were somewhat the worse for wear in the heat. Other aches and pains (I'm 68 and haven't been riding for several months. My horse was lame...maybe I should give some CigRx to her.) seem to be less, but that may be just placebo. When they're definitely reduced, I'll let you know.
The bad news is that I really dislike the container and the taste. The container sticks and sometimes doesn't work at all. I had to take one apart to get the tabs out. It was stuck and would not feed. The taste is sickly sweet mint, IMHO. The mint's not bad, it's the mannitol. I wouldn't mind the gaseos aftereffects if I didn't have the aftertaste. I'm sure it'll be in all versions of the product since it facilitates crossing the blood-brain barrier. Hence, the Alsheimer's application.
Does anyone know if the product has to be absorbed in the mouth to be effective for inflammation? IOW, will stomach acid destroy anatabine before it reaches the bloodstream? I'd love to be able to just swallow them whole.
Dino
I see. Your mind is made up. I shouldn't try to confuse you with the facts.
Dino
He doesn't own any shares. In fact he lamented the fact that his company won't allow him to buy stock in the companies he recommends. He also commented on teh fact that his reported results are both anecdotal and a small sample. He's waiting for teh results of the formal trials and indicated that they may be available soon. "A few weeks," I think he said.
His reputation is on the line and in the newsletter business, that's what counts. His friend John Mauldin lost me, and a lot of other subscribers, during the Y2K run-up. Of course it's only been 12 years, I might forget someday and subscribe again. Until then, if Mauldin wrote it, I ignore it. Yeah, I know, Mauldin recommends CIGX also. I bought it despite his recommendation.
Dino
What makes you so sure it does? Have you ever met Norman Soloman, president? Do you know anything about him? Have you ever even spent any time as I did last week visiting some of their competitors?
By the way, they're doing very well at the retail level. Some of them may become customers at the wholesale level. I know, because I talked to the store managers.
For starters, take a look at some of the company's successful showings before buying the shell you hate so much and going public.
http://capitalart.com/?page_id=25
Dino
That doesn't apply in this case. The previous management is gone. I don't even know who they were. I just spent most of the last week talking with the new management at the FreedomFest in Las Vegas. They had a booth there to gain recognition for the company. (Yeah, you'll call it pumping. I call it shaking hands.)
The merchandise is real, the reported deals were/are real and there are more deals in the works.
Dino
According to the June 2008 filing from Petel:
"A change to the company's beneficial owner list occurred when former Medify executive Mr. J Bryant
exercised rule 144 for 93% of his holding the details of which can be found below. This event marked
the final involvement of any kind with any of the prior Medify Inc management."
That means that Jonathan Bryant has never been associated with Capital Arts and has not even been associated with its predecessors for more than three years.
Dino
It's also under a different management. The past history of a shell is irrelevent. A shell is like a piece of real estate. The business that operates there now has nothing to do with what happened there before.
Celebrity Inc, not Ink, started more than 5 years ago and operated the Celebrity Vault in Beverly Hills until recently. It recently moved to a much less expensive venue for the retail end and seems to be emphasizing the wholesale end of the business more. Witness the recent announcement of the deal with Sofitel.
The real business is selling limited edition, mostly photographic artworks, the subject of which are celebrities, primarily in the entertainment field (practically all of them if you consider sports to be just another form of entertainment).
Dino
Not this management!
"Shorts sold it thinking mgmt has failed too often"
Dino
You've got to be joking. If I buy a shell and bring all filings up to date there is no scam. It's simply a way to save time and money.
Dino
Looks like a short squeeze in play.
Dino
In order to be fully reporting, it appears thst they have to file a lot of the old stuff from the previous incarnations of this corporate shell. The articles seem to be of two corporate entities back.
In other words, it's a formality brought to you by our government (remember, they're here to help you) and can be safely ignored. When I see current information posted, I'll try to let you know.
Dino
I don't understand your complaint, Lem. The company has changed hands via a reverse merger and is now in a completely unrelated line of business. Capital Art has been in business for more than 5 years as a privately held company. Why is that a scam?
Ah, but is your hair red or gray? Red foxes run in a straight line. Gray foxes run in a circle. Sometime they even outfox themselves.
Which are you?
Dino
Gee, isn't an oil well a type of mine? I went to WVU so the only mines we talked about were the important ones - COAL.
Dino
Sure hope they're not Biblical weeks.
Dino
Well, I had the '9' right.
I remember using it to quick-freeze rat hearts when doing medical research. Placed between two blocks of dry ice, they made a squeeking noise as a little CO2 evaporated and in about 5 seconds, or so, they were frozen solid. I used over an inch of insulation picking up the top block and warmed my fingers for a minute or two while I weighed and filed each one.
Dino
I contacted the company.
The response I received was "Mr. Upsher is looking into this matter right now." That sounds like it wasn't their idea.
Dino
I've still got my shares.
You may add my name to your list.
Dino
Isn't that the same kind of sand they export to Saudi Arabia?
Dino
My problem with the video is that he's holding the tubes barehanded. Have you ever picked up a block of dry ice with your bare hands? I don't recommend it. -29F, or something like that. Instant frostbite.
Dino
I think it has two effects.
1) It improves the properties of the primary mixture, allowing it to be used in cold weather, raises the Cetane rating, etc.
2) It allows a higher percentage of ethanol to be mixed in with the petroleum diesel, thereby reducing the amount of oil we're using.
That's worth paying a little extra for.
Dino
I'd pursue both markets. I'd make the additive myself and license the technology to someone to make fuel for generators for an overriding royalty. Since the other folks would pay all capital, feedstock and labor costs, USSE's cost is some training and initial supervision. Oh. and accounting, of course.
Dino
There are reports (c.f. capodibio, et als, on RB) that at least one of them is. If we ever get another PR, maybe it'll a) confirm those reports, and indicate quantities and b) tell us what is being done with the output. Hopefully, it's being sold to someone for cash money.
Dino
Perhaps the $5MM price tag may have something to do with it. We probably need some cash flow to fund additional reactors. The other coice is further dilution - a lot of it.
Dino
From Stratfor:
"Shell claims to be the largest global distributor of transport biofuels, selling slightly more than 900 million gallons in 2006. Shell has invested significantly in cellulosic ethanol and, in 2006, the company launched a study with Volkswagen and Canadian biotech company Iogen Corp. that claimed this fuel both produces fewer carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than traditional ethanol and can be cost-competitive with gasoline."
Can someone explain to me how ethanol made from cellulose diffiers from that made from sour mash? Are some of the atoms hooked up with reverse polarity or something?
Next question: what kind do we make?
Dino
Larry,
It works with Iview, a free program I've used for years. You can download it via his website http://www.irfanview.com/
It handles just about every graphic format I've tried and never caused me a problem.
Dino
It works on mine/ I'm on XP-Pro, using Quicken 6.5.2. It ran and then Quicken froze when I asked for the version. Version 7 is out, but it won't let me download it, give it s try, it seems to demand a proxy address and I don't have one.
The problem with modern computer software (I started programing in 1964) is it's user friendly. As you know, that means that no one outside of Redmond knows what's really inside or how to use it to do anything it wasn't specifically designed for. Or in any configuration that wasn't tested in Redmond. I mean, I'm trying to run Apple software on a MS system. Who would ever do a thing like that?!?
Dino
They're a pain in several anatomical areas. They're slow to decide and even slower to pay. They limit the amount of profit you can make and audit your books to ensure that you didn't overcharge a penny. We used to have two people on our staff who did nothing but respond to GAO, DCASR, etc. In the 16 years I was there, they found three accounting errors, two of them in our favor and none of them larger than the amount of money WE spent to find them. Remember, the government will spare no expense to save a penny.
One paragraph in the standard 23 pages of boilerplate on the front of every contract required you to acknowledge that the US Government was your 'best' customer and therefore would always receive your lowest price. That means that if you lowered your price for a contract, say, to get your foot in the door with a new customer, you had to refund the difference on all prior government contracts. (I always drew a line through that paragraph and initialed in the margin.)
Dino
It's authorized but not outstanding. Actually, the wording literally means it isn't even authorized anymore, but I doubt that interpretation. I suppose it depends on what "is" is.
Dino
They are also not presenting. They are not on the list of speakers nor luncheon sponsors.
Dino
That's the way these shows work. If you're in Lost Wages for the Freedomfest (7/4 - 7/7), look me up. I'll be helping at the Celebrity Vault booth.
Dino
"The shares are Restricted stock, so probably a Long Term Asset."
Since the asset is impaired (restricted) a conservative value would be 60% of market, a more aggressive valuation would be 75%.
They are long term, but my impression of accounting is that it's fleeting. Remember the famous punchline, "What do you want it to be?"
Dino
I'm more interested in what happend to Kippykai. Maybe he's doing some work that would cause a conflict of interest?
Dino
Looks to me like they've mixed up the Senior Management and Board of Directors pages.
