What about Ford (F) as a bouncer from 2.2x???
LOL, my econcomic bracket seems to be shrinking, i don't need to make that mistake right now LOL.
Bearish article on metals in today's FT: "Mining and metals prepare for lean times" ( http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/890e4f94-9a51-11dd-bfe2-000077b07658.html ). Excerpt:
"The mining and metal industry is bracing for months of price weakness as slowing demand in the US, Europe, Japan and some emerging markets, including China, is likely to push commodities such as copper into surplus.
At the London Metal Exchange annual dinner last night, the premier gathering of the industry in London, the mood among traders, bankers and mining executives was gloomy, particularly with regard to the short term.
"With the likelihood of a global recession rising, industrial metals prices will face further downward pressure," said a report by Francisco Blanch of Merrill Lynch.
Tight credit is further dampening demand for raw materials, as traders are unable to secure credit lines to move their commodities."
I wish i had bought that, wonder if it's to late yet?
I'm a little worried about that S8, but, if they continue at a 18% divi at this price....... man that's hard cash not to take.
Super low volume.
Good morning folks, looks like a slider this morning. Got Dr Appt, work can't keep me away right now LOL.

wow, nice climb
Good afternoon HOP! Well off to the races again.
I'm looking at buying some of this. Have been watching for awhile... just not sure what is going on.
Well folks, get ready to load the boats. She's going to bottom come January IMO.
We've further to fall, the steel markets are about to take a seroius beating IMO. Just watch, i've not been wrong so far.
Money is brewing here, be patient and don't think this is the bottom. Keep your money in your pockets. This is getting sold off with the rest of the markets. When the steel sector shows its poor performance 4th Q, this will drop along with it regardless of the company status.
Take advantage of the doom and gloomer then. I'm holding for .50 range and i'll load the boats.
Been a house of horror.... sheesh.
then follow him
yep, i almost bought some 2 weeks ago..... ugh, me sick now
After this watch out below..... GNA going to a buck my friend if things don't improve :(.
In the sense of fairness, right now our major building sales are climbing, however, we're quoting more of them because our regular old reliables are falling. There is a bad side to this as well for the industry. I work for a small company, when folks start shopping us against the bigboys and we're winning it means the bigboys are stuck on high inventory and they will choke on it. As our pittance of steel volume increases in some stock theirs will plummet 10 fold most likely.
Keep a careful eye on the commercial construction industry. If it dies off, GNA will suffer unless they can export.
TMA did extremely well
OK Z, you still don't understand, you're supposed to tell us when to buy it LOL
Good evening folks, for a bit, it's going to be like this for me. Work had a major blowout about net usage.... down economy and all that and looking for anything to point a finger at. Right now i don't even want to log in during lunch for a bit. Loooking at alternatives for the moment. Anyone know where i can get a cheap aircard?
blood bath today
I think he's about the last of the greats.
I seem to be driving my woman insane...... and i still can't figure out what it is i'm doing!
Shit, i have to breath... sigh.
LOL
makes me want to get my pitchfork and charge the gates.
Yep, i thought at buying more but decided chasing it was a bad idea.
should have sold earlier but yes, i'm out. Considering i bought at .5x it's all still good.
yep, i'm hoping that FRE cracks 3, it came close but doesn't seem to want to hit and hold it..... sigh.
Hehe, i think i'm going to follow you for a second... i'm going to look at this one. You think it has great potential?
FRE is going to $5....... i'm holding. If the bailout package is good, 10 maybe?
What up faust! Haven't bumped into you in a bit. Hope everything is going well for you. Hope you played FRE or FNM the last week.
Still holding :)
I never said the warrants didn't exist. But the govt isn't the same entity as a private investor.
Govt has no reason to issue warrants.
This is why i held.....
With Financial Stocks Off Limites, Shorts Move To Tech (AAPL)(DELL)(ORCL)(INTC)(AMD)(TXN)
By 24/7 Wall St.
Last update: 7:11 p.m. EDT Sept. 24, 2008
The cut-off for the last short interest data was September 15, before a number of financial stocks got protection from the SEC. Before the ban, short sellers were already moving out of some bank and brokerage shares. Fannie Mae (FNM), Freddie Mac (FRE), Citigroup (C), and Bank of America (BAC) all had big drops in total shares sold short. The only large spike up in the group was Washington Mutual where the short interest spiked 12% to 429 million shares.
Short sellers moved their money elsewhere with the primary target being technology shares.
Shares sold short in Nokia (NOK) moved up over 70% to 23.8 million. Short interest in Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) was up 25% to 34.4 million. Share short in Western Digital (WDC) jumped 28% to 22.2 million shares. The short interests in AMD (AMD) and Texas Instruments (TXN) also rose.
Nasdaq-based techs were not spared. Shares short in Intel (INTC) moved up 33% to 91.7 million. The short interest in Microsoft (MSFT) rose 27% to 61.3 million shares. Short interest in Cisco (CSCO) was up 10% to 67.7 million shares. Even Apple (AAPL) was hit hard with shares short up 24% to 25.7 million.
Oracle (ORCL) was one of the few big tech companies which saw a significant drop in short interest, down 41% to 34.3 million. Shares short in Sun (JAVA) and Dell (DELL) also dropped over 20%.
Data from NYSE and Nasdaq.

It's my opinion that the bailout package will really move this. Think of all that toxic paper being moved to the govt.
Not to mention, traders and emotion are on our side till the govt actually puts forth the plan. Once the plan is known, 2 things come, either this rockets or falls flat again.
IMO
Still holding my FRE that i didn't sell, so far, so GREAT! Lol
what a runner ! Go Freddy Go! another 30% tommorrow please.
Higher i think, around 3 this week is my bet.
Yes Chris, stay out LOL.
Yes Tina, i knew when they stopped the shorting of financial 800 stocks this would come into play again. I just had no idea how much.
With Govt bailout, this could be huge maybe?
I agree to some extent Tina, but i also beleive anyone that wants a home should have one. Govt programs to help them is no big deal to me, but it should be geared toward actually "helping" them, not giving them "a helping handout".
