This is the email from Tobinator, no mention of website:
"Hello Kipp,
I have attached my latest Market Update and a calculator for estimating fair values of options and warrants. This is my most extensive Newsletter where I tried to improve the format to allow you to quickly find the information that interests you the most. I hope you will find the improvements and content useful for your investment decisions.
I publish quarterly and send the Newsletter usually during the first weekend in the months of February, May, August and November. If you have anyone interested in receiving it, just have them email me and I'll put them on my distribution list. My only condition is that they do their own due diligence on any recommended stocks.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Regards,
Toby"
Are you all watching the dollar. Melting down again this morning, down $.29 to $76.10 on the USD index, sending silver, gold, oil etc. way up. I keep thinking the dollar should bounce but it is looking more like it will break out the bottom here. This is really bad news for our country. No country has ever prospered from debasing their currency.
Kipp
I sent Tobinator an email and he sent me the FREE newsletter in about 5 minutes this morning.
Kipp
MontyHigh - Thanks for posting Tobinator news letter. There are some interesting new stocks to look at there. I see silver over $15 today. It has a long way to go to catch up with gold. I have a bunch of CS.TO/SST.V, AUN, EXN.
Good Luck!

TXCO will be pumping that 400 degree heavy oil when West Texas I.C. hits $100/bbl and they will be getting $85/bbl for it. Billions of bbls in reserve. WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE RICH! RICH I TELL YOU! PUMP THAT HOT BLACK GOOPY GOLD!
OK, I will calm down now, I promise.

TXCO = SUNCOR of the SOUTH!
Look at slides 17-21 in this brand new presentation.
http://www.txco.com/IPAASFO07.pdf
TXCO has 2-3 BILLION barrels of reserves. Canadian tar sands reserves are selling for a buck a barrel. TXCO market cap is $400,000 and worth every penny based on business EXCLUDING tar sands potential. If these test wells flow like they should the headlines will read "Billion Barrel Oil Find in Texas!"
And as if the tar sands aren't enough, 2morrow points out the fact that EnCana is predicting the
"Pearsall shale will be the next Barnett Shale play".
If there was ever a low risk investment that could change zip codes I proclaim this to be it.
cl001 - TRGL was/is a lesson in country/political risk. Not worth the worry! I like the good old US of A, TXCO and AEZ will do well. Look at the chart of ARD and see what steady growth through the drill bit can do. I sold ARD way too soon! I am not going to get in a hurry with TXCO and AEZ. I also have quite a bit of POE. Thailand is going to have elections in December so I didn't get crazy and overload the boat.

Oil Guess Charts
Oil prices with an RSI of 67 have more room to move higher:
http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?$WTIC
The P&F says $109 fwiw (ask Len about P&F charts for those who were not on RB with us during the "Low Float Mania".)
Another chart that influences oil prices is the US Dollar. If oil prices are going to tank, the dollar needs one heck of a rally. Look at this chart and ask yourself if you see any near term bottom forming:
http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?$USD
The dollar chart has an RSI of 30 fwiw.
Toss politics, hedge funds, etc. in the mix and who knows what the price will do!?!?! It will be interesting to see who is the closest.

TXCO - Big Short Position Out There
I never pay much attention but there are over 4 million shares listed as short according to Yahoo. Does anyone have more accurate #'s or follow the shorting activity. Seems like a lot of shares to be short on a low float stock. Fireworks? C.C. in the morning should tell us more about the operations. EnCana is on the prowl for more Texas gas, must be P.O'ed at Alberta tax changes. The only negative I saw in the PR was the delay of the steam gennies for the other tar sands test wells.
Kipp
105.75 is my guess
TXCO C.C. Tomorrow Morning
I will tune in and try to post here in the morning. I have high hopes for the EnCana J/V gas wells to hit, and the tar sands test wells to be heated up with steam and starting to flow. TXCO is a real sleeper just starting to wake up. The $.04 loss last quarter has thrown the market off and given us a great buying opportunity here. I hope I am right because I own a bunch of stock.
Here is C.C. info:

Good Luck Matt, sorry you can't make it to Vegas.

cl001 - Have you heard anything negative from the Mexican government as far as increasing royalties. They nationalized the oil business and formed Pemex in th '70's and are paying a heavy price for doing it. They lack deep water drilling know how and have depleted the easy oil with little re-investment. I am heavily exposed to Canadian listed stocks that have operations in Mexico. I need to keep a close eye out for any change in how Mexico is going to treat foreign operators.

Saturday Night Suggestion For All
VMC'ers,
One block south of Mandalay is a place called Cili, here is the website complete with pictures and the works:
http://www.cili.com/
OK, here is the scoop. They have a private dining room that seats 35 with an attached enclosed patio, and it is still open for Saturday night. This would give us a 100% private area all to ourselves. We have to commit to a plated multi corse meal that is $59 per person and/or we have to guarantee a minimum of $1,000 total revenue to them. The $59 does not include tips or drinks. We better tell plan on $75-$100 per person. (I am still offering to pick up the happy hour bar tab before dinner, YIKES!) I think this is reasonable considering the price and the fact it is private. It is 1 block south of Mandalay Bay. We need to act fast or it will be gone.
WHAT DO ALL OF YOU THINK??
Here is the menu a gal named Nicole sent me, we won't starve.

Icebreaker Biography for Vegas
I think an optional biography might be a good way to give some personal background/experience, interests, VMC history, etc. ahead of time. This might stimulate conversations that otherwise might not come up.
Here goes mine:
I was born in Jacksonville, IL in August of '65. I have a twin brother(new home sales in Denver) and a 2 year older brother(Delta pilot in Cinci). My parents grew up on farms near Pontiac and Fairbury, IL 2 hours S. of Chicago(still have 240 acres of prime farm ground there). My Dad sold bi-products for Masonite (the company that made all of that dark fiber board paneling). He started his own feed and fertilizer brokerage in 1972 and we moved to Conifer, CO in 1974. 35 acres on a north facing slope in the foothills, froze my tail off all winter. I went to school in Durban South Africa for 6 months in 7th grade. I graduated from Evergreen H.S. class of '83. I worked/lived on a charter boat in Kodiak, AK in the summers. I then did my first 2 years of college at Western State in Gunnison, CO. I started commercial salmon and halibut fishing in Kodiak and continued through the college years, the money was great and I never owed for school loans. I transferred to Colorado State and graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Business. I married an Iowa farm girl named Glenda Jo, (the good witch from the Wizard of Oz). I ended up taking a job with a small zinc sulfate manufacturing company in Denver. My Dad had done some consulting for the company and got me the interview. It had such great potential we bought in to the business and built it up over 10 years and sold it to TETRA Technologies (TTI-NYSE) on 1-19-1999. TETRA sold the business again in 2003 and I cut a good deal with the new owners. I have a daughter of 14.5 and a son turning 16 in 2 months. I wouldn't sell either of them for a billion dollars, but I wouldn't give 2 cents for a new baby at this stage. I love my kids a lot! I am now managing 5 other regional salesmen and I have some key accounts of my own. I like to sportfish and go to Vermillion Bay, Ontario, Kodiak, and Cabo San Lucas, every year. Some trips are with clients and the company picks up the tab (not a bad gig if you can get it!). I also have a car hobby specific to MOPARs Dodge and Plymouths. The "440" in my handle is from the 440cu in motor. I do some mild drag racing on Friday nights in the summer. I got hooked up with Bobwins right before he started the Raging Bull board with Hweb. I first met Bobwins on the AHOM board, it was pure luck because he only made one or 2 posts there telling people about mdpa now MDF. I sold the AHOM and got mdpa, it was just shy of a 10 bagger when I sold it. The rest is well documented on ihub. I feel greatful to have the VMC "family" as it has changed my financial condition forever. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I sure am looking forward to seeing everyone in person and having a nice time in Vegas.

My question to the board is what are these 3 paragraphs worth?
"San Miguel Oil Sands - The two-well cyclic steam pilot test of the Oil Sands formation with our partner, Pearl
Exploration and Production Ltd., involves a steam injection, soak and production cyclical process designed to
heat the oil (0 degree API gravity) and allow it to be produced. Both of the pilot wells are in the third steam
injection cycle. Production rates as high as 48 bopd were achieved for short periods during the second production
cycle. We hope to see higher production rates in the third production cycle for both wells that is expected to
begin later in August. Oil produced from the project was sent to prospective refiners to establish a pricing
differential. We have received a preliminary estimate that our heavy oil will receive about a $15 per barrel
discount to West Texas Intermediate prices, comparable to prices for similar quality crudes produced elsewhere.
Additional steam generation equipment is on order for the expansion of this pilot. We expect to drill three
additional wells on this pilot later this year.
Drilling on a second pilot with 16 wells is scheduled to start later this year updip of the existing pilot. We expect
the second pilot will accelerate the overall project and establishment of reserves. We have ordered steam
generation equipment for this pilot that will probably arrive late this year or early next year. We are considering
using fracture-assisted steamflood technology recovery ("FAST") methods with a few modifications to compare
its results with the cyclical process used on the first pilot. TXCO has a 50% WI and serves as operator. We
believe that our net interest in these oil sands amounts to roughly two to three billion barrels of total oil in place.
Our CAPEX budget calls for 21 Oil Sands wells in 2007.
Heavy Oil - Separately, we have begun a shallow pilot in an area (100% WI) that our geologists and engineers
estimate contains 100 million barrels of heavy (10- to 14-degree API gravity) oil at 100-300 feet in depth. Two
parallel horizontal wells with 2,000 feet laterals have been drilled through the zone, as well as five adjacent
vertical wells. Our engineers have ordered steam generation equipment to begin heating the formation in the new
pilot. We hope to begin injecting steam in the fourth quarter this year. Costs incurred to date on this project are
about $0.5 million.
Pearsall - The horizontal well (50%WI) drilled with our partner, EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., in the Maverick
Basin's Pearsall formation is currently in completion. A second lateral was drilled after the drill pipe, motor and
bit became stuck in the first lateral and could not be retrieved. This lateral will be fracture stimulated in four
intervals. We hope to have it tested and on production by the end of the third quarter. This is the second well in
an ongoing program by the partners targeting this gas resource play. Our CAPEX budget calls for up to three
Pearsall wells to be drilled in 2007 with EnCana as operator."
USD Triple Bottom Breakdown Chart
Look at the dollar:
http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?$USD
Where is it ultimately going. I hope we break this trend soon or we may get a panic/dislocation?!?
bbotcs - reverse ETFs
I was thinking about the reverse ETF's. I decided not to go that route. If/when the dollar devalues more, inflation kicks in big time, we could still have a rising stock market just due to the reflation from FED money printing. If you do the reverse ETFs at least put some money in energy and precious metals. I don't usually give others advice but feel strongly that Paulson and Helicopter Ben will stop at nothing to keep the asset value of stocks up, it's all they can do, they can't revive housing unless they inflate house values using inflation.
I remember a while back someone on this board invested a ton of money in the housing stocks as a "contrarian" play. I was going to tell them they were nuts, instead I said nothing, knowing full well what was going to happen, and it has.
I just think going long of the things that keep pace with hyperinflation could treat us better. We have some really good prospects on the VMC jr miners and energy boards right now. You can check them out in the iBoxs'.
