I agree ... the entire country is in trouble .... and this 'great uniter' in the White House is doing all he can to tear the nation down.
Continuing to screw the economy that was, admittedly, in a mess when he took over, and digging an ever-enlargening chasm between the parties with his arrogant rhetoric and hypocrisy.
I'm glad I live in the sticks ... Sure wouldn't want to be in a big city over then next few years.
Well, we both know why that goes unreported.
When a teacher has sex with a 15 yo girl, it's a felony and the girl is the victim.
When a teacher has sex with a 15 yo boy, ........ the boy is just lucky!
Obama already is a monster, IMO. He was in 2008, when he got elected. but he fooled a lot of people, and a lot of people voted for him to prove (to themselves, I would imagine) they aren't racists, and many just let the stars they were seeing around Obama's head, blind them.
We still need the presidency, most certainly, but whether Obama wins or Romney wins, we need control of both sides of congress.
I agreee, there are big changes ahead ... and lots of pain, I believe, and I think things will get worse before they get better.
But if any of the present Republicans win .. we still need control of the legislative branch too.
No, you're addressing a different issue than ws I. As it stands now, Mama's word, with any backup, is nothing more than mama being upset at her daughter. There's no 'back up' in what mama is saying or doing.
Do I think he was having contact with her while she was a minor? Probably was.
Is there any probable cause to confiscate his computer? Not based on what has been posted here, or what I have read.
The girl is now 18. She says nothing happened. He says nothing happened. Mama's is not legally involved in anything at this point .... She's mad, frustrated, pissed off, upset, embarrassed, etc ..... but that's not probable cause. IF she can give the authorities something real to work with, then they can pursue it.
I haven't even checked what the age of consent is in the state where this is occurring. It could be 16, or even 15 or 14 ...... if it is ..... mama has to have something to show, or at least give probability to the claim, that something happened before the girl reached that age.
Sucks, but that's the way it is. the teacher is a scumbag. Most sex offenders are very manipulative - that's how they 'work' their victims. But legal and 'right' aren't always the same either ... and this just seems wrong. Even if it might be legal.
Agree with you that Newt should have pulled out ... a long while ago. Perry should have stayed home, all along.
I don't care for any of 'em in the race right now, particularly. My hope is we capture both sides of congress. I think that is the best thing that could happen right now.
OK, keep believing that ....
Now we know from where ol' patriot gets his information! LOL
Sorry .... double tapped!.
That's not true. You were banned due to the method you were using to 'discuss' the matter.
You know that, whether or not you admit it.
You aren't stupid, and you have shown many times in the past you are more than capable of discussing controversial matters in a civil way.
You were stepping over the line, from discussion to provocation.
Believe me, I've been banned from boards for much less provoking 'dicussion', than what you were doing.
I've stated my disagreement with Romney since the beginning .. on several different boards, but not in the manner you were employing in this case.
So, you are allowed to have, and state, your opinion.
The female being discussed can have and state her opinion.
But Limbaugh can't have and state his opinion.
OK. I think I undersand now. Thanks for getting that straight!
Yeah, so far we're lucky, but looks like Tennessee is not so lucky!
And to you. Looks like Tennessee is already catching it! Hopefully, no one else will get any more destructive weather out of these fronts!
Nah, didn't develop last night, but it is very windy here now .... cold front coming in. It's now 53, and will be around 43 by noon.
Well, off to the Dr for a follow up on my shoulder. Hopefully, he'll give me the go-ahead to start 'strength' therary instead of just 'range of motion' stuff.
Unfortunately, there's that damn constitution that gets in the way!
As crappy as it is, once litle girl is 'legal', mama might as well be trying to piss up a rope.
Not what the scum teacher deserves, but it's what he'll get - protection under the law.
Oh, I was getting plenty to eat ....
but I was making my own way!
Yeah, but back in 93 or so, one formed and blew away an entire boat factory and some other buildings over east of here .... and there were several inches of snow on the ground at the time! Absolutely crazy!
Good one! Grab the clearasil, quick!
Yeah, some liberal slime ball teacher.
Never doubted it! thanks ...
Yeah - remember 'clearasil'...???
They still make that gritty, peachy colored cement?
Same thing - just over water instead of land ...
They're one concentrated mass of some high-powered energy for sure ...
"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"!
LOL --- Later
Yeah, and they're saying maybe more tomorrow ...???
Making up for the 'non-winter' we've had this year so far ...
Nothing like anywhere near as bad as the one that decimated Joplin last year, thank goodness.
Branson will be ready by this time next week to start collecting every one of those tourist dollars that comes in!
Thanks for the good thoughts!
Didn't realize how good it was at the time.
Heck no - think any of us really did?
Geeesh .... a new pimple was the end of the world~!
LOL
In a general manner of speaking, yeah, that's what I was tiptoeing around.... LOL
If you're like me, any reason is enough for that - real or imagined! LOL Appreciate it!
OMG - even as much of a gun nut as I am .... somehow, I just don't think that could be a lot of fun ... LOL
I totaled out a car and never got that much 'force' put on me!
thanks man - now I'll know to 'just say no' if anyone ever mentions firing one of those!
I'm thinking seriously, I probably wouldn't have to dig too deep to find a law somewhere that says it is illegal for you two to associate .... ???
LOL
Sounds like a good time was had by all ....
Yeah - that kid is a man, and should be charged as such.
I was living with consequences of my decisions long before 17.
And for you to refer to anyone as dense .....
ROFLMAO
We'll see, huh? My feeling is he wouldn't be holding a press conference if he didn't have 'something' to announce ... but that's just me.
So, in essence, 'lower class' individuals are actually classier than 'upper class' individuals .... in general ..
I agree on the falling apart .... I'm just getting too old to see all this crap.
I am just going to cocoon until election day I think, emerge to vote, then re-cocoon.
They're all nuts .. which of course, probably means it's me! LOL
BTW, you still have bear problems? haven't heard much lately.
Be safe and watch your six!
Obama Claims Unions Not a ‘Special Interest’
By Matt Cover
February 28, 2012
(CNSNews.com) – President Obama claimed that unions such as the United Auto Workers were not a “special interest” saying that being in a union was not a “bad thing.” However, unions are among some of the largest special interests in the country.
“They’re out there. They’re out there talking about you like your some special interest that needs to be beaten down,” Obama said at the UAW’s National Community Action Program Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. “Since when are hard-working men and women who are putting in a hard day’s work every day, since when are they special interests?”
However, according to the Center for Responsive Politics’ Open Secrets website – which tracks lobbying and campaign spending data – organized labor is one of the all-time largest lobbying groups, spending $492 million on lobbying from 1998 to 2011.
In fact, labor unions spent more on lobbying in 2011 than they ever had before, spending $50 million according to Open Secrets.
Unions spread their influence through more than just lobbying, however, ranking among some of the largest independent campaign spenders in the country.
The UAW itself is listed among the Open Secrets ‘Heavy Hitters’ – a group of the largest political donation spenders since 1989. In fact, unions account for 12 of the top 20 Heavy Hitters listed. The UAW is ranked 18th on the list.
In fact, the AFL-CIO – the union umbrella group of which the UAW is a member – is the third largest independent election spender since 1989, according to Federal Election Commission data compiled by Open Secrets, beating out other major interest groups such as the pro-choice group EMILY’s List, gay-rights group the Human Rights Campaign, and dozens of industry groups such as the American Medical Association.
Since 1989, AFL-CIO has spent $40.3 million in independent campaign spending, with the overwhelming majority – $36.7 million – going towards political advertisements and direct mailers.
The only three interest groups who have spent more money than the AFL-CIO since 1989 are the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) – the government workers’ union – with $54.4 million, the National Rifle Association with $58.6 million, and the number one all-time interest group the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) with $70.6 million.

GOP Grumbles as GM Spends $500M on Bonuses
Uncle Sam should come first, Republicans say
By Rob Quinn, Newser Staff

(Newser) – General Motors had a great year last year—making a record profit and reclaiming its crown as the world's biggest automaker—but some lawmakers aren't happy about its plans to reward its workers. The company plans to pay bonuses of at least $182 million to white-collar workers today, on top of $332.5 million in profit-sharing it's paying factory workers, reports AP. The bonuses, of 8% to 14% of base pay, will go to most of the company's 26,000 salaried employees, many of whom make more than $100,000 a year. Some Republicans believe the government should get back the money it spent to save GM before anybody gets a bonus.
"As the company gives out bonuses, the Treasury Department needs to have an exit strategy for getting GM to repay the taxpayers for helping the company survive," says bailout critic Sen. Charles Grassley. The government has recouped more than $22 billion of the $50 billion it spent to rescue GM, but it still owns close to a quarter of the company. Its shares are worth $13.2 billion, and will have to more than double in price for the government to get all its money back. GM argues that the bonuses—which are being offered instead of pay raises—are necessary to prevent rivals from poaching its talent.

Yeah, he's like a pesky little brat ... always bothering grown-ups when they're trying to talk about something serious.
My fear from teh start is that the media has been too anxious for Mitt to win ... they've got something on him, or it's just another 2008 setup.
Oh hush .... adults are carrying on a conversation here. Did your parents not teach you any respect whatsoever?
