Did you see announcement that TRGD requested a halt, news pending, or that the exchange had ordered TRGD trading halted?
I cannot find an official statement anywhere. Do you have a link to a source that announces the halt?
Could be a tough row for PMs to hoe when Gov't raises the ceiling.
IMHO raising the ceiling will drop gold at least a little, maybe even back to $1500ish. Still, the fact that there has been no agreement that limits debt growth reduction means we will probably keep seeing PMs trend higher over the longer term.

FRD Friedman continues to move steadily higher. Great, stead growth and fundamentals.
JBII: I assume you are holding off adding JBII during this latest nasty slide. Nasty slide! Must be a problem making "the deal" that's been hinted at for so long.
JBII continues down, not up.
"Will probably hear that nonsense if it pulls back from $500 to $300 as well."
What in your honest opinion should be the next catalyst for JBII that takes it toward $500?
JBII is acting like a mangy dog lately.
Perhaps it's not scalable enough to meet anyone's high (& very green) expectations.
Perhaps the CEO's NEWS comment at AGM was less than trustworthy.
I do own some, so I'm just showing some personal disappointment. I'd love for this one to take off and get a meaningful deal with Browning Ferris or Waste Management or some other company with plastic feedstocks out the kazoo. Maybe they need to license the machines in China, where plastic bottles are piling up.
VST down too far?
I've no idea, but the reason for owning it WAS that they had a great opportunity on a MONSTER PRODUCER in a new MONSTER FIELD. That no longer appears to be the case (the monsters seem to have disappeared).
Not being cash-rich, VST is not in a good position to pay their share on deeper drilling, and this well must have cost an absolute fortune already. Risk is VST is desperate, and they may need to reduce their ownership (due shortage of cash) if Niko drills deeper.
Tough call! By virtue of the 50% drop today, the market seems to be saying VST is just another coinflip at this point.
'peeker
ps> I'm very disappointed that they delayed so long on announcing results of this well; some people must have known something to pull price down prior to today's announcement.
VST.v/VSTFF.pk well is not the big gusher we'd hoped, but they are considering drilling deeper. Stock down at the open.
This interval from 3,558 meters to 3,908 meters was acidized and flowed light oil confirming an active hydrocarbon column. The interval achieved maximum production rate of 550 barrels of oil per day and 800 mscf/d of gas, although these rates were not sustained for the entire duration of the test. The oil produced is 48 degrees API with no H2S.
From the data interpretation, and the significant spike in observed well bore pressures before the drilling was stopped, it is believed that the well has potentially entered into the first 10 meters of the next reservoir, the Cretacous aged Kometan formation, which is one of the primary target zones previously identified. It is important to note that the Kometan formation is regionally known to be a naturally fractured reservoir which has produced significant quantities of oil.
Mr. Ahmed Said, President & CEO, commented, "We are pleased with the recovery of light oil from this section. Although the reservoir quality appears to be naturally tight, the establishment of an oil column is significant. The possibility of drilling deeper to further evaluate production potential of the Kometan formation is currently under consideration."
Shiranish / Tanjero Interval
Certain sections in this cased interval was perforated and then acidized. The well had intermittent flow of light oil. The maximum rates achieved were 400 barrels per day of 42 to 47 API oil and 520 mscf/d of gas confirming a second active hydrocarbon system with no H2S.
Current Status and Forward Plan
The operator, Niko Resources, is currently in the process of testing the Aalijii Formation which consists of thick sequence of turbidities sand and argillaceous shales. While drilling this section in July 2010, it was reported that an increase in fluorescence, gas readings and free light oil in the mud system was detected.
Further, there are ongoing discussions between the consortium group to possibly deepen the well up to an additional 250 meters, subsequent to the completion of the current testing program. The primary purpose would be to drill deeper to further evaluate the production potential of the proliferous Kometan formation, the zone immediately below the Shiranish formation. Confirmation of the possibility and technical capability of re-entering the well and drilling deeper is expected over the next few weeks.
AAA.v/ALLRF.pk: Uh Oh! Hey, all you potash kingpins, what's the problem with Allana today? Seems like I remember the potash preachers saying this thing had oughta bee way over $2 by now.
I guess the truth is AAA.v chart is looking a lot like FED.v chart:

DigiTech, appreciate your MMT AGM attendance & the Q&A summary.
My bet would be that some knew about the pipeline weeks ago, that is, some stockholders were treated as "more equal than others".
MMT.v might need to prove they can deliver what they can produce first. The face-off they are having with AGIP over pipeline fee is not a simple thing.
AGIP has offered MMT a deal they can't refuse, but they did, so they've gone to the godfather with a kiss on the cheek, but who's to say Luca Brazzi isn't waiting around the corner.
The point is mgt was not very quick to say there was a problem when they reduced production by over 2000 barrels per day, so what we don't know has hurt us already.
Good long-term results seem highly probable, but dealing with the short-term unknowns in Nigeria means nothing is assured.
Regards,

Anyone, Please recommend a Brokerage for handling a 401K plan?
My daughter has a thriving LLC (filing as S corp) and wants to contribute into a 401K plan. Her other accounts are at Scottrade, but they don't seem to have a good record for administering 401K plans.
I was thinking it may make good sense to use Fidelity, but Ameritrade or Interactive Brokers or Schwab may be just as good.
Does anyone have a recommendation? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA,
Steve

Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st every year.
Canada Day is a statutory holiday throughout Canada.
Markets are closed!
Canada Day was established by statute in 1879, under the name Dominion Day. It is a commemoration of the day in 1867 that the first colonies of British North America entered Confederation as the Dominion of Canada. Other names used in the past for Canada Day include: First of July, July the First, Confederation Day, and Dominion Day. On October 27, 1982, July 1st, then known as "Dominion Day", was decreed by Parliament to be known as "Canada Day".
Canada Day is celebrated with barbeques, parades, music, and of course fireworks in the evening in most of the cities especially in Ottawa with thousands Canadian flags and Canadians singing Oh Canada. To hear Oh Canada and to learn more about Canada visit Canada Web Site.
Point well taken. Said another way, it's reasonable to think of JBII as a Story stock that could/should/will/shall become a future Value stock. I guess the real unknown is the yet-to-be determined probability of its becoming that strong Value stock.
'peeker
JBII continues having trouble today, but thanks for your perspective. Since JBII is a "story" stock rather than a "value" stock, the price does not have any real fundamental support. That said, now would be a better time to buy than last week (I obviously should have stuck to value stocks).

ps> Owning JBII is only slightly more fun than pissing into the wind.
Strength in the mkt today, marking the end of QE2, is beancounterintuitive.
JBII has had a really tough time this week. JBII stockholders have had an even worse time this week. You think adding JBII is a great idea because ..... why is that ???
Do you have an idea what news is about to be announced? ... or with the drop in JBII stock, what deal did NOT come thru?
Would honestly appreciate your thoughts.

FRD is a great value play, but it just doesn't have enough visibility, I guess.
Great numbers were announced yesterday, but without good promotion or a little blue pill, FRD just cannot keep it up long enough for everyone to have a good time.
JBII has me thinking of a four letter word that starts with F, ends in UCK, and rhymes with firetruck!
Terrible day for JBII. Anyone know what is happening today?
JBII and AAA.v both doing poorly lately. I guess I'll change my zip code to a UPS mailbox.
Where's that big JBII news update the CEO was winking and nodding about recently?
MMT.v/MAUXF.pk: Nice quarterly summary. Only negative I saw was in the Outlook and Operations Update:
"Umusadege field deliveries in May 2011 averaged 10,525 bopd, however the operator of the export pipeline recently restricted deliveries pending finalization of contractual terms for transportation of production. The Umusadege field delivered an average of 8,275 bopd for the period June 1 - 28, 2011. Mart's management anticipates that once the contractual terms for transportation of production are finalized, the Umusadege field will be allocated sufficient export pipeline capacity to accommodate production from the existing UMU-1, UMU-5, UMU-6 wells and the UMU-7 well. Increases in export production capacity are also anticipated to accommodate future production from the UMU-8 well. Pipeline capacity may be apportioned among the shippers and therefore the Umusadege field rate of production may be subject to periodic adjustment."
IMHO, this explains the weak stock price for the last few weeks. Some people must have known about the need to renegotiate with pipeline operator.
Also plan to watch the webcast of AGM presentation this afternoon.

3pm news: APWR A-Power Energy announces auditor's resignation; company to meet with other independent auditing firms (1.67 -0.20)
Co announced that its independent auditor, MSCM, has resigned. In its letter dated June 26, 2011, MSCM stated that it had resigned because the co had not retained a qualified independent forensic accounting firm to evaluate certain business transactions that MSCM stated was necessary for MSCM to complete its audit of financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2010 on a timely basis. In light of MSCM's withdrawal, A-Power and members of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors will be meeting with other qualified independent auditing firms. Co will announce its new independent auditor after the Audit Committee has selected a firm and an audit engagement contract has been entered into between the Company and that firm. As a result of MSCM's resignation, the Company's annual report on Form 20-F for the year 2010 will be delayed beyond June 30, 2011, the date the filing is due at the Securities and Exchange Commission. A-Power greatly regrets this delay and will work as rapidly as possible with a new independent auditor to complete the audit of its financial statements for the year 2010 and to then file its annual report on Form 20-F. MMT's new IR provider is handling email responses to inquiries@martresources.com and calls to the 888-xxx-xxxx number (I found both these in the June overview document). I'm not sure what company or person is providing the service, but at least one can now get a response to an email. Try sending questions to inquiries@martresources.com

The best part of recent news is that our CEO Biscuit is removing himself from all operational decisions by partnering with experienced operational company. This is a LARGE POSITIVE for TRGD and TARM shareholders.
The fact that our CEO Biscuit is still the largest shareholder of TRGD (to my knowledge) is the one thing that makes me feel my TRGD shares are at least somewhat protected from major downside risk.
Best Regards to all TRGD and TARM longs ....

MMT problem may be the short-term negative impace with Q1 is released (late). With the shareholder meeting Wednesday, we should see some news from Mart thru their new IR firm this week.

SOIL etf did better than AAA.v (Allana) today. Really surprising to see Allana slammed on announcement of updated proven potaxh reserves.

Thanks basserdan. Looks like they just changed the name (to protect the innocent; it's what Joe Friday would do).
Ameritrade usually takes a day to clean this stuff up with an overnite batch run.
Prophecy Resource changes name to Prophecy Coal, thus it no longer shows up in my Ameritrade acct. They cancelled a sell order and said the pink sheet symbol (PRPCF.pk) has changed.
Anyone know a new pink sheet symbol for Prophecy Coal?

What? Turn down IHUB fame? Go for it. Don't be swayed by a bunch of girlie men. Open the gates to the masses. We don't need to build a wall across VMC's southern border. It's not like we'll have to pay lifetime healthcare for the children of the unwashed.
Besides, we need more ideas from pumpers, bashers, and other highly opinionated knuckleheads on profitable companies since the standard VMC approach hasn't done astoundingly well this year.

JBII: This low cost of operation and high margin makes it sound like a great franchise operation. McDonalds takes more than 2persons to generate $10,000 revenue per day.
So if they could get costz down to $100,000/machine, they could have mom&pop shops making oil all over the world. Of course the machines probably cost more than $100,000, and they require ongoing maintenance, and there is the cost to manufacture the equipment, and there is interest on the money to buy the equipment.
Just bouncing some things around here, not trying to expose myself to the point that I get Rawnocked up.

ps> I do own a small amount and am very interested in what kind of big deal they've got around the corner.
Mike, I realize JBII cannot be compared to other oil companies. However, the plastic waste fed into the machine and equipment cost and delivery cost must all be covered eventually.
Obviously small operations cost more than large operations, as large production covers equipment costs much more quickly.
I'm just curious ... An investor still wants to estimate future profitability of a company like JBII rather than plunking down big money just because the technology is "greenish" ... SO ... since you are a DDKing ...
Have you ever seen a figure to indicate the cost to produce a barrel of JBII oil and what variables may be included in that theoretical cost?
Thanks,
