Buzzy Questions/Comment was rhetorical.
It sounds as if he is contradicting himself, (apparently they are stuck on/with the MXC (currently Multi Mode only) and Corning clear curve Multi but then says “, I now have a 50-micron multi-mode fibre and couple it down into a silicon photonic chip; that is the hard part.”
As info Corning makes a single mode clear curve also but,,,,,, read the last sentence of the last 2 paragraphs.
"The company is using multi-mode fibre for its silicon photonics solution despite growing interest in single-mode fibre to meet the longer reach requirements emerging in the data center.
Intel chose multi-mode as it results in a more economic solution in terms of packaging, assembly and cabling. "If you look at a single-mode fibre solution - coupling the fibre, packaging and assembling - it is very expensive," he says. That is because single-mode fibre requires precise fibre alignment at the module and at the connector, he says: "Even if the photonics were free, packaging, testing and assembly accounts for 40-60 percent of cost."
Silicon photonics is inherently single-mode and making it work with multi-mode fibre is a challenge. “At the transmitter side it is somewhat easy, a small hose - the transmitter - going into a big hose, a 50-micron [multi-mode] fibre, so the alignment is easy,“ says Paniccia. “At the receiver side, I now have a 50-micron multi-mode fibre and couple it down into a silicon photonic chip; that is the hard part.”
Corning's ClearCurve multi-mode fibre and the MXC connector working with Intel's 100 Gigabit modules achieve a 300m reach, while 820m has been demonstrated. “At the end of the day, the customer will decide how do we drive a new architecture into the next-generation of data centre,” says Paniccia.

Oh, IMO Lightwave is working on single mode solutions/devices (80% sure).
Darn it anyhow wiseguy, Why is it always guys that love me? I’m uh looking for 2 partnerships, 1 Big and 1 small (and neither is the LSS) with a little sugar on top from our Uncle. Oh and I agree that once that happens we can write our own ticket. Not sure of the order in which they will get hammered out, but I still think that is why the options were awarded and are being delivered over the next 3 months. Proly wishful thinking on my part but it is always easier to walk around with ones chin held high. Oh and speaking of Telcom standards I stopped Miller on the way to head at the shareholders meeting and in response to my comment on just how long this has taken,, he said something to the effect that they (the market) was not ready for what “we” have anyway. Yes you have a point, cheesy, perhaps but Hey paid or not, I’ll take all the press that we can get, IMO we need to get the name out there, I drive a car that is advertised, shoot I forget where I heard it but even my computer has an intel inside, My TV is advertised, my shoes are advertised, shoot when I’m slow I advertise. I sent them the name of a super spammer guy one time and they responded NO they do not believe in that form of promotion.
Anywho’s Wiseguy I know for a fact that until the ban is lifted you could sell water to a West Virginian.
Keeping the Faith, we finally have someone that is doing what they say, IMO whether it appears that way or not they are doing their best and very soon we’ll see the fruits of that effort.
Love X, Lol
I here you wise, I’m getting tired myself and wouldn’t expect anything crazy until the next step but I don’t think it is a few years off or anywhere near Telcordia. They now have a working device and that is a technical milestone for the company, logic dictates that the next step should increase value for us and I think that we’ll see that soon. These guys have the solution for an unmet need that is Shared by Many, almost impossible to duplicate, and guys with enough clout to find us a Strategic Partner. Just remember that the value happens in steps and IMO we just passed a milestone. Not sure how long it will take but I think the next exciting thing will be,,,,,,
This is where I’m coming from
I’d say that we are at the 8:00 (slid 6 on the left) , Luminaries,,, (Slide 11) stage 3 14:30 mark

Quantum has mineral-rights leases on about 9,500 acres of rural land near Elk Creek, but the project will cost between $300 million and $400 million to get started.
Looks like they just tried to raise 10 Million and closed the raise with less than 1 million, not good, especially when if they decide to move forward it will cost between 300 and 400 Million. Short of the government backing the loan I’m not sure how they could raise that much money.
Time will tell.

K it's done I still have An order for a few to buy. x.
Tos their 3rd 100k 25k or so left in this block. Not sure how many more are in the chute. Doin a good job getting in though. C
At first I thought that they were just BOD shares and this was a nothing.
So I took one person and looked - Joe Millers contract Form 3 - - - 5/24/2011
On May 10, 2011 the reporting person received an option to purchase up to 200,000 shares of company stock that vest pursuant to the following schedule: 50,000 options vest on May 10, 2010, (Mistake should read 2011) and the remaining options vest in three equal annual installments of 50,000 options per year commencing on May 10, 2012
May 10 2011 50,000 @ $1.12
May 10, 2012 50k @ $1.12
May 10, 2013 50k @ $1.12
May 10 2014 50k @ $1.12
Now he gets the Right to Buy another 50,000 shares this time are 0.72
The registrant granted the reporting person an option to purchase up to 50,000 shares of company stock that vest pursuant to the following schedule: 20,000 options vest on January 1, 2014, and the remaining options vest in three equal quarterly installments of 10,000 options per quarter commencing on April 1, 2014.
January 1, 2014 20,000 @ .72
April 1, 2014 10,000 @ .72
July 1, 2014 10k @ 72
October 1 2014 10k @ 72
Number of Derivative Securities Owned Following Reported Transaction 250,000
Raj’s is basically the same, but he has only been here a while, so Why?
Miller, Bim, Bucci, Raj. They are all outside directors so if they worked on something they would not get paid, Hmmmmmm
My take on it is that these guys must have recently accomplished something or they are working on something and this is how they are going to be compensated.
Miller Obvious
Bim is a Money guy I've watched him work numbers before.
Bucci Stock/Money Kinda guy.
Raj, Raj, Hmm the wild card here.
IMO best not to try and time this playing around, up down make a penny here or there, I could be wrong but Guys this could be what we’ve been waiting for. This current BOD does not just give out unearned shares willy nilly.
If we could only see their expense accounts, Lol
Keep an eye out for any additional Form 4's, Oh hmm if it is a deal with others I'm Not sure who else involved would have to file, Fred L, is not an officer, neither is Turpin.
X
Uh uh you are arguing just to argue The definition of a Bid An Offer To Buy. Whatever. Sometimes I have to wonder what team some are on and if perhaps a few trees were cutdown they could see the forest. X
Well now someone at Etrade is looking to Buy 100,000 shares at 95 Cents. I'm not sure who it is but anybody that needs to get out, that is a nice offer.
X
Honestly as long as one is still buying if Ponz can cause some to hold back and hesitate before pulling the trigger it is a good thing, Make Them Chase It, because eventually even Ponz is going to get in. I’m not sure what Six is talking about, I probably only posted on the Gig Board about once or perhaps twice a month last year and probably ¼ were complimentary posts. As far as commenting about Gig on a Lightwave BB, IMO it is not off limits, not at all. But as for going on the Gig board and pushing buttons when LWLG s rising, we should not do that; I agree we are bigger than that.
Oh and , , , ,
“Lightwave Logic will form a licensing partnership with at least one major electronics firm before the end of 2015E
and receive a milestone payment of $5mn in 2015E.”
As for the write up it was very well written, however,, uh, If I May, I’d say move up a partnership to 2014 which adjusts the price up accordingly to about 3 Bucks by the end of the year. If these guys try to push this I know that they can do it, someone will HAVE to step forward. 5 Million is chump change. But hey I thought 10 years ago they could get their act together in 3 or 4 years so what do I know about timing.
X
SeeThruEquity has been compensated for the preparation and dissemination of this press release. But Not the work that went into the report, honestly I didn't even read the Press Release I was looking at the actual report.
Well of course they couldn't do a press release for free, but the research in the report, gotcha, bush-league me yup.
I'd say thanks for pointing it out and I think that your comment as valid however it will be hounded by the Nay Sayers. Thanks Though, Tis OK with me because I'm still got my foot to the floor buying.

What Page? I just seared it again "compen" appears once.
Hey you quoted them and I quoted them, Unless I missed it I think your quote needs the word NOT added , < - - - - - -
Nope I just the DISCLOSURE: Which MUST be included they were In Fact NOT Compensated. Big Difference.
You have about 10 minutes to edit it, otherwise nice disinformation.
"SEETHRUEQUITY HAS NOT BEEN COMPENSATED FOR THE PREPARATION OF THIS REPORT BY ANY THIRD PARTY OR THE COMPANY

Because IMO it is a variation of the original.
Well if you look at the date it was actually a year ago (proly a provisional at the time as info a provisional protects for 1 year without disclosure). OK but still how can that be? First of all let me say that I’m not smart enough understand all the legalese/chemical mumbo jumbo in the patent, but I’ll go back to Fred Jr. filing the original patents Back in the day (this is what they said when they were looking for backing, doing a raise to file international protection) as I understood it the original patents were filed as an All encompassing patent covering ALL variations of the molecules, he said something to the effect that if we get this then we are golden, if not they would have to file a patent for each as we physically create them, I’m pretty sure that this is what we are seeing, as well as the 2 new provisional’s and the couple more Z refers to. I don’t feel like reading the patent but if I remember correctly in the final volley with the U.S. Patent office they (LWLG) left it open so this is probably what this is. Remember it is the Perkinamine Family of molecules. Remember the post I did one time with the various configurations of donor-bridge-acceptor system there are 3 of each. Here:
Acceptor
A
AA
AAA
Bridge
B
BB
BBB
Acceptor
E
EE
EEE
K here are a few configurations Pretty sure there are at least 100 if you vary the length of the bridge:
ABE
AABE
AAABE
ABBE
AABBE
AAABBE
And so on and so forth.
Per Z’s last letter
“We successfully deposited our polymer materials into other slot waveguides and poled and tested them at high speeds. We were extremely pleased with the initial results and are now analyzing our data and relaying the information back to the chemical synthesis lab to adjust material properties in order to make even further improvements for our IMEC chips. Once again, different devices require slightly different material properties depending on the specific device configurations and applications. Fortunately, we now have core molecules that we can adjust at the “periphery”.” (the outer limits or edge of an area or object).
Again this is just a guess but it makes sense, and if it makes sense then it is probably true. Some of the other things they could adjust is the concentration (solubility) do they want 9%, 10%,,,,20%,,,24% etc.

So last July at the SHM Z said that the deal with EM didn’t work out, he kind of summarized it with a comment about once you look under the hood things aren’t always what they appear, basically said that it was an SBIR shop. Some criticized the decision at the time.
Well it is 6 months later and I pick up the local paper this morning they are talking about the effects of sequestration locally and in it they interview Dennis Prather and he is quoted as saying “and that is the issue on our side: How do I keep my group going? I spend 24/7 chasing opportunities and making sure that I get enough funding to keep my group continuous. Because if I don’t, I lose expertise, I lose capabilities. Sometimes I lose machines, because it takes millions of dollars to do what I do.”
“Prather estimates that DoD funds “about 95%” of his groups research”
Looks like the “under the hood” comment was on the money.
Most recently Tom said that sometimes it is better not to do a deal than do a bad deal. Well, look what we’d be talking about on here today had we bought them. In the year end summary when he talks the possibility of doing a deal going forward he states “but will continue to be very selective in our acquisition process” I say Right On, Nice Call.

2. and that will push it up above a Buck and lead to 1.
On the Roth transferring shares, Best to call your Broker or tax accountant. I've rolled many a share from a conventional to a Roth. Now might be a great time for some to do that, it can always be undone down the road.

Unless perk with silicon makes boobs shake then I doubt it.
They closed that offering in about 1 week over the holidays,,, In my book that was very, very fast. Trying to figure out what is up and I'm kind of leaning towards, uh perhaps a device deal with Lightwave Logic. Lightwave has what they need in the worst way a Stable EO Polymer. T.I.M.E. will tell.
X
Looks like cordavano may have a virus? Don't open that email. It is the first I've ever received from him
Yup oops forgot about the translation thing, Yup=Yep=Yes
Proly a good guess would be JDSU because they make Modulators and Fred has their Ear and Respect, Corning because of all the Single Mode Fiber and Miller has their ear or Gig because of their experience with EO Polymer Modulators.
These Pop up advertisement are getting ridiculous on this Ihub site, especially for Paying Customers.

We have been in the process of reviewing a second-generation design of an advanced high bandwidth telecom modulator. This is a unique design that will incorporate one of our proprietary electro-optical materials. The Lightwave Logic team that includes Dr. Fred Leonberger, Dr. Alan Mickelson and Lou Bintz is developing this. Based on a thorough review of the design, we have decided to move it forward into the initial prototype phase. The first step here is to bring online the necessary manufacturing capacity in order to support the fabrication of the device.
I wonder how they will approach this? I can think of a couple different angles both of which involve outside um, vendors.
I'm not sure, technically he is not an "Officer" so he doesn't have to disclose his holdings via a form 4. I'd say a good question at the next SHM would be to ask him in private for quick summary of his holdings. I'd bet that you will be very happy with the response.
X
Flash that was the software that I couldn’t think of, Oh and during that couple months I remember them saying Geez we are suddenly getting calls from companies from out of the blue that we hadn’t contacted. Just like the same statement that Z just made about they have never had this much outside interest.
Oh and yes Raj's vesting schedule is
1. On October 2, 2013 the reporting person received an option to purchase up to 200,000 shares of company stock that vest pursuant to the following schedule: 50,000 options vest on November 1, 2013, and the remaining options vest in three equal annual installments of 50,000 options per year commencing on October 2.
Oh and just so everyone understands it if the company is bought the options accelerate because you wouldn’t want them delaying a buyout to wait on the next few option periods, common sense.
X
That was something that Z mentioned that I thought everyone understood. No the BOD only has options not outright shares and the options are only in the money when and if they get the share price up above their option price. Look at the form 3’s and 4’s you will see the price of their options; the last time I looked I think the average was about $1.25. Raj has a Stock Option (Right to Buy) 200,000 shares at .93 cents. OK I thought most knew this, so let’s say down the road Raj cashes in his option for $4.93. he gets 200,000 times everything over .93 cents or $4.00 or $800,000, the first .93 cents of each share goes back to the company and into Lightaves checking account, if he sells at $1.00 he makes $14,000 for his troubles and Lightwave makes $186,000 off him. These guys only make money IF we make money. Their goals are perfectly aligned with ours. If you will look you will see that many companies do not do it the same way and price the options dirt cheap (basically free unearned money). These guys see the potential here. Oh don’t get me wrong he may get a stipend for attending a meeting and of course his expenses would be covered. Oh I didn’t look but typically they vest over time so if you leave early like Smith did you lose what you haven’t earned. Remember Phil wanted his last years options for free and he was turned down by the board. Whoever said it the other day, while yes many of these guys know each other this is not the good Ol Boy thing that you see at many companies, giving away shares that were not earned.
Qtera was only 18 Months old and was working on its third round of financing when four large telecommunications companies started talking to Qtera about a possible deal, Diner said. "We weren't looking to sell the company," I’m not sure about his compensation but I’d bet that Product Architect & Vice President came with options that were cashed in. I’m assuming that everyone looks at what Rajs current company does. I’d also say that going forward there some sort of collaboration with them.
As for Leonberger not taking a BOD slot you are probably right he is content without those responsibilities that come with a BOD position however he is an Advisor to them, IMO the best of both worlds, and yes it looks like he is the one that brought in Raj., Geez I wonder why?
Man I miss that guy (Fred), he could break down this science without talking above us or acting as if he was trying to impress you with how smart he was. Not that it matters one iota but it was a holiday season just like this a few years back and in the matter of a 2 weeks Fred wrote a very nice web site. Andrew asked me to proof the website when it came out and I noticed (I forget what software he used) but the problem at the time was that if you googled any of the verbiage in the web site Google wouldn’t read it. Based on a request by me they created that pdf, unbeknownst to them at the time I created a google adwords campaign and funded it out of my own pocket (I think it cost a couple grand), in 3 or 4 months I was able to get 10,000 hits on that particular pdf, I’m not sure if the hits were investors, business or academia types. When they found out what I was doing they told me to turn it off (Andrew did cut me a check to make me whole.) They didn’t want it to appear as if they were “pumping” the company. YET VIRTUALLY EVERY SMALL BUSINESS AND FORTUNE 500 DOES IT TO ATTRACT BUSINESS AND PARTNERS.
When Smith and JM were running the company I showed them how for a few hundred bucks I could drive many, many, investors and curious people to the website. Phil told me that if they put their name on laser pointers or flashlight and handed them out at investor conventions the money would be better spent. To this day I’m not sure that they get it or if he was serious.
Those not familiar with it just google “eo modulator” notice the companies on the top and sides, it costs a few cents “IF” and only “IF” someone clicks on them AND visits the web site. They monitor the IP address so a competitor cannot run up your bill. Hey I’ll show a giant hole out there today, just google “eo polymer modulator” or SLM, or Spatial Light Modulator and to this day you will Notice that there is not a single entry so for FREE a Lightwave link could be added FIRST and if someone clicked on it for 5 cents the Lightwave website would be displayed. Companies that do this today charge Hundreds if not Thousands of dollars per month to get you in the first 3 entries. Honestly The actual expense is a couple hundred bucks a month but the trick is that you need someone that understands the goals of the company, the science, and the target audience. You can also exclude bogus queries using certain key words and limit the time of day and geographic area.
So the bottom line the folks have to type in what they are looking for like “stable electro optic polymer” another hole.
Anyway whatever just rambling, Given the chance I’d like to do it again someday proly much better time that posting.
X
I think that we can all agree that this industry has had soooo many false starts that as Z put it; this is definitely a “show me” story. I’m not sure if BS was around in the Fred Jr. days but if he was, perhaps he remembers just near the end of that period, Fred said that he stumbled/came across something,,,, he said that is “was big”, it sounded like more of a twist to the whole process but then boom out of commission. I was thinking that it was Indigo, I’m wondering if these guys just figured that out, or perhaps they are working on whatever Alabama figured out with the so called “Bamaphores”. The good part is that they have reduced the feedback loop and they have actual structures to put it in, so a new twist shouldn’t take forever to test like in the old days.
Well this certainly has been a frustrating year and I don’t think that it is because the company didn’t make progress because if this was 1 or 2 years after the company started it would be moving along as planned, but the past couple months sounds as if they made great strides, I just think that we are reaching the limits of what many of the original shareholders can mentally handle. I’ll be glad when the holidays are over, we can get busy again and the company can move forward and “show us” the goods.
2 More to be protected and perhaps a couple more molecules in the chute.
Happy New Year All, Gotta Run, Lord willing I’ll see you guys in the new year.
X
Actually I pretty much agree with you. However Joe M and Fred L could get them (and Bintz) in the door or a meeting with any fortune 500's BOD. IMO that is what they need for recognition.
x
Thank You.
Good Luck and May God Bless You in Picking Another 3
Thanks Again,

Perk this is not a game.
And Yes I absolutely believe in it and I state why, I'm a big boy. I'm just saying please do not twist my words, I do not twist yours, I just do my best to put logic why I disagree, I do not do it just for the sake of twisting words, if you can explain the science or why there is a legitimate problem here please do, but don't just make up things, provide the logic behind it, without making up things, just because you think that you are cute or it is fun to do. I mean Really?
Thanks.
And No I haven't lost money I tried to maintain a 1% ownership here and in the end I'll be rewarded, and I agree that the science has take far, far longer than I thought, that does not mean I'm wrong. The end game is all that matters, kind of like when an executive is issued options, they hope for a low price on the day of the award, so for those still buying this is GREAT. The end game for me isn't here YET so why would I think that I've lost money?
Mark My Words, This Technology Will Be Purchased At Some Time in the Future, Is It Next Month or in 5 Years, who Knows.
The difference is that my money is exactly where my position is, yours I haven't figured out, but no this is not a "Game".
So what exactly is your reasoning again and please be honest.
Are you just board with life and don't know what to do with your time or will you somehow benefit?
Thanks,
X
Greenlee wasn’t even a PhD, the new guy that I stumbled across is. And NO X has not hinted that they don’t work, I believe 100% that the current molecule worked in the Device, The device wasn’t even designed for the molecule and it worked at 40 Gig 2.2 Volts, pretty darn good. Do I think they need further 6 sigma’d, YES I DO. If you can get it to work once then you can absolutely get it to work exactly the same over and over again and agin, repeatability that is why they have they have all of the IMEC ish on hand, that is why Joe Miller called for the feedback loop to be tightened. Perkpoo please Be Careful With the words that you are intentionally twisting that is all I’m saying. These are real people not fairy tail, not make believe.
As for transparency, HECK NO, this is NOT a research lab attracting professors, students, and looking for academia notoriety; this is a company that is filling 2 NEW provisional patents with possibly 2 more in the chute. There is something that they have discovered and they do not want out, NOT yet, it appears to me that in the past 2 months they have advanced more than the past 6 to 8 years.
Good Luck Perk, Honestly You Are Carrying this a Bit Too Far, again these are real people.
X
I'm sure that they did the best with the material that they had at the time I think it was NR, remember that was Pre Babu and Pre Indigo, Old lab not sure how many times we need to talk about it, we have been down this road before.
This reminds me of when I go to the cabin we take the ATV's for a ride, we stop drink a cold one, shoot some beer cans move on down the trail, yadda yadda. Overnight is snows I take the guys on the same trail, stop drink a beer, shoot a beer can and the guys tell me that they like this trail better. Some say the liked the one the day before better, LOL. We can talk about the same thing over and over just as BSith liked to do over the LONG Holliday week.
Anywhoo's
Lol. Good luck I F in spoke to him first time since July. This is the precise reason they can not converse with everyone. I mean really reds I kind of pictured you as an older gent with a little wisdom but um.
Lol. Honestly I don't know how many shares I have I do have more shares now than 1 year ago and didn't sell any this year.
OK I can not sit here and respond to every detail and we did not go line by line,,,,,,,,, for goodness sakes guys WTF, Joe Miller said build a lab and reduce the feedback loop increase repeatability,,. I'm not sure what part of that some don't get, they have done that, it still is not 100% Z said that, if it were no or we'd be bought out or it will be at like 10 Bucks a share. BS comes in and says blah blah blah and they are supposed to respond to him when they know it is not true. I swear we have been there done that, they have it working in a Device, Comprende?
So tell me when did you stop beating your wife,,,, LOL
There are some questions that you just don't respond to.
X
The company is well aware of how an NDA works, if they feel the need then I’ll guess that they will go that route, but they most certainly would not tell me that.
The goo is NOT fatally flawed if it were Raj would not have joined because they have to tell him 100% of what was/is going on. The bottom line is that Perk has certain attributes/qualities that are NOT found in ANY other molecule that is why we have the BOD rivaling any Fortune 500 going.
X
