AXTG news-
Axis Technologies Inc. to Introduce Peak Load Shedding Ballast at Lightfair 2009
New Technology Addresses Utilities Need to Manage Peak Load Demand
LINCOLN, NE--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 27, 2009 -- Axis Technologies Group, Inc. (Other OTC:AXTG.PK - News), a green technology designer, manufacturer and marketer of a proprietary line of energy saving and daylight harvesting electronic dimming ballasts for the commercial lighting industry, announced today that the company will launch its next generation energy efficient daylight harvesting fluorescent lighting ballast at the Lightfair International 2009. Lightfair, the premier trade show for the lighting industry, will be held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, May 5-7. Axis Technologies e
Axis Technologies' new peak load shedding ballast offers utilities the ability to dim the fluorescent lights of subscriber customers as the utilities grid approaches peak load. The economic advantage of avoiding the need to purchase premium priced power from a neighboring utilities' grid is well known, providing a simple and efficient solution with a substantial market.
Until now, daylight harvesting has been used only as a "niche" technology, constrained by high cost and complexity. Previous systems for daylight harvesting required additional control wiring, expensive control components, and high labor cost for installation and maintenance. In contrast, each Axis ballast offers integrated controls and is designed for use as a standard commodity in general commercial and industrial lighting. Axis' design has always offered a simple set up and operation with high life cycle cost value, and the new design will now increase product value with:
-- An internal micro controller, or "smart chip."
-- The latest electronic components for improved reliability and
performance.
-- A slimmer design to allow use in more architectural light fixture
styles.
-- A manual dimming option for personal control of light levels.
-- Simple "point and click" set up from a remote transmitter.
-- A new, more accurate photosensor, with a smaller ceiling profile.
-- A Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication option.
-- A Utility Demand Response control option.
-- Simple "point and click" ballast address identification and zoning set
up.
-- Simple, universal, network access for building energy management.
One of the most promising of "Green Technologies," Daylight Harvesting offers the greatest amount of lighting energy reduction, and highest amount of daytime peak period load shedding, short of turning lights off. Reducing lighting energy also reduces heat, lowering the amount of air conditioning required on warmer days, particularly during critical peak load periods. Less electricity consumed means less electricity required from power plants, which in turn means less green house gas production from those power plants.
Shedding daytime peak period loads eases the burden of aging, overloaded power grids, which will help address blackout concerns. Many utilities are rolling out plans for "smart grids," as part of the Advance Meter Initiative, with communication between the power plant and the building meter. The new Axis ballast will easily integrate with these utility communications, allowing ready access to the building lighting, for utility control management of loads during peak periods.
One of the greatest values of the Axis Technologies design is that it requires no compromise to room occupants. The control system response is perfectly tuned to the light in the room, operates undetected, and free of distraction. The continuous operation is always saving energy whenever daylight is available, and room occupants are always assured of desired light levels within the room design. This assures a wide user acceptance and sustained savings over the life of the system. The new design will move the technology of daylight harvesting into the forefront of lighting efficiency, taking advantage of the renewable energy of sunlight.
AXTG is getting to that .22 point. needs more volume. That new lighting technology they announced today should drive some sales with the utilities. Should be interesting if they get news on any sales at the trade show next week.
GL
Well, AXTG closed with a hammer. Good sign. Needs more volume though. I agree that .21-.22 would make it look like that sell down was concentrated and over.
Any other bottom plays you looking at? Under $1.50?
