OT: An excellent presentation of freedom. I know it is off topic but well worth a view.

I agree with your position that management should take issue with this accounting situation and respond. However, the response should be to CFRA. If CFRA provides institutions with their opinion as to accounting irregularities then this issue will continue to plague IDCC or we could see a combination of additional sell offs by institutions or lack of investment by institutions. Fagan and/or our new controller should take a bus ride to CFRA and explain to CFRA's that their model for detecting accounting problems is incorrect in regards to IDCC and that IDCC is following the SEC guidelines as to how to account for deferred revenue. Otherwise, this issue will continue to grow as our deferred revenue climbs from 111 million to 500 million in the near future.
Thanks for your work. IDCC is wrong here. They have a responsibility in responding IMHO. Doesn't engender much faith in the company when a company relies on a third party to explain their own accounting procedures.
Jim,
When I checked earlier today total institutions holding IDCC shares stood at 103 and checking just moments ago we now have 110. Barclay added over 300,00 shares bringing their total to over 2.1 mil. and they are now our largest single institution. And with our recent activity and the expected activity resulting from the Piper event we should see a significant upside to holdings by the end of the quarter. I would guess that Heartland had to unload a few shares during the quarter owing to their investment restrictions. Clear weather ahead though regardless.
However, it should be caveated that those funds who bought in the first quarter have done very, very well with their initial investment and taking some money off the table may seem prudent to them at this time. I would say though that if IDCC comes through with a definitive Nokia/Samsung statement or any other 3G news, we may well see the same institutions who may have sold some shares this quarter, putting money back into IDCC for the long haul.
Louis Navalier is on CNBC this morning. Maybe he'll throw us a bone.

After hours has been very active all week from what I recall. More so than usual.
Maybe so, but there still had to be a buyer!
100,000 block traded
Nice block after the close of 65,600 @ 21.73. eom
Jim sent out a copy of the IDCC news release regarding Conference Call and earnings release.
Other Form 4's: Buys: Shay, Hicks and Lemmo. One Sell: Campagna.
New Form 4's just hit my mail. All buys: Tilden, Goldberg, Merritt & Fagan. Although none are large, they are buys.
Mschere....believe 35% is too low. I'm looking for 38%. Nice AH trading...over 115,000 shares.
But maybe green?
Looks like red.
My next door neighbor, a heavy investor in IDCC, had a recent date with a gal who works for CCI (not sure of the full name) but they deal in putting up towers for wireless communications. They have been busy in placing towers from Dallas down through Austin, San Antonio and over to Houston. These towers are for 3g. Unfortunately, her knowledge of who is contracting with CCI is limited and my neighbor was unable to confirm who contracted for the tower. An additional note, his son, was in an AT&T wireless store picking up a new phone and discussion by the salesperson evolved to 3G and it was stated, which confirms the press release, that AT&T will have 3G available in the upcoming year.
bulldzr,
Would appreciate a copy of the report. wleonk@flash.net
Thanks..Wayne
mschere....agree...seven weeks old news isn't really news but it's nice to see percentage growth from quarter to quarter. I would guess that we are closer to 35% than 31%. Time will tell.

Teecee,
JDS Management came back with a purchase of 200,000 and Bedford Oak Advisors added 50,000. This is the best I can do as I hadn't kept track for a few days. But the 28.4% holdings is great to see. Would imagine after this quarter over 30% is a given but probably closer to 35% or higher (we all hope).
Teecee,
Cannot pinpoint exactly but the folowing new names have appeared:
Dreihaus Capital Management = 657,410 shares
ING Pilgrim = 313,900 shares
Janus Capital = 187,126 shares
Wachovia = 177,126
Institutional holdings have increased now to 28.4%.
