To make some money...
Thought it was undervalued and that the value would increase as PSCs were signed, wells were drilled, oil was proven, etc.
Chemlite, in response to your question...
...how long can we reasonably expect to wait for the oil to start flowing...?

Peter J. Robertson
Vice Chairman
Chevron Corporation
Statement Prepared for the Senate Committee on the Judiciary
May 21, 2008
"Let me highlight an example to illustrate what we do. We are working on several deepwater crude oil and natural gas projects in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. One of these, known as Tahiti, offers a typical case study in the risks facing this business today in terms of timing, scale and cost. We acquired the Tahiti leases in the 1990s. In 2002, we used leading-edge technology to drill in 4,000 feet of water and found an estimated 400 million to 500 million barrels of recoverable resources. It will take seven years to build the infrastructure required to produce the oil and gas more than a 100 miles offshore. When Tahiti finally comes online next year, we will have invested $4.7 billion—and dedicated personnel and resources for over a decade to manage exploration, permitting, engineering and development —before realizing $1 of return on our investment."
From Pup's post, was this discussed...?
Sorry lots of posts today so I may have missed it...
"I have no problem menitioning that three block operators are talking about a rig sharing agreement."
Sounds like Addax is working a swap with Anadarko and/or Chevron, as Kosmos is not a JDZ operator.
It's obvious they aren't wasting money...
on a Proofreader. These PR's are pathetic.
Agreed tryoty, it was you, erolpa and others who gave us the clues that led to finding the exact Bovell.

ABSOUTELY I've spoken to them!!!
Devon had no interest in what would have been a 2% to 5% non-operatorship (working) interest in a development (sorry: Exploration) plan for Blk 3 when they were planning to operate the block under our umbrella; they politely bowed out...

David Bovell (Finance Director) – aged 47, joined the Board of Antonov in August 2003. He is a chartered Accountant, having spent the early part of his career as a management consultant and corporate finance executive. He established Green Corporate Finance BVBA in 1995 where he initiated the Group’s listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1995 and subsequently undertook a number of fund raising exercises for Antonov plc. "In the audit report for the ended June 30, 2007, our auditors raised substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern."
I don't remember them telling us this before, and I cannot find any mention of it in previous filings. Seems like a material event to me. Am I just missing it?
Spec...does you source still believe that Addax has found a rig? Just curious since we have not heard this from any other "birdies".
Thanks.

I know that, I was just trying to relate what was being said in this article about deep water drilling to what had been written about the prospects for success in the EEZ. Sorry for not being clear.
1-in-12 is about 8%, right?
Maybe 8% is just the norm for deep water prospects.
"Exploratory wells take several months to drill, and 65 percent or more fail. Koen projects a 1-in-12 chance of success in the Bob North field probe."

Think they'll still only talk financials? EOM
Don't think those are meant to indicate drilling sites. Why would Afren know anything about drilling sites in 2, 3, 4? And how come no one has discussed ERHClongtimer's post to Mark regarding the missing ERHC in blocks 5 and 6. Or did I miss that rumor being officially confirmed?
