Doog, I have never herd a mention except very casual mentions like controlling ancillary rights. But never specific words like DVD, at least to my memory. I am positive that if we had something to put in our pockets they would say something. I believe that the only thing that they have said is residuals. Never a mention about DVD royalty's and library (which mostly is Avi Lerner)
In their reporting they continue to report old films even if their is no income. A couple of times something (money) old did pop up but they did not specify what exactly it was.. They called it royalty's or something like that.

Check Out John Rambo in Action!
So far, all we've seen from the set of John Rambo (the fourth and final film in Sylvester Stallone's action-packed franchise) are a few pics of Stallone standing around, looking jacked. Oh, and then there was one of a beaten and bloody Stallone standing with his wife and kids. Now that was creepy. Well fans, the time has finally come -- Arrogantics has our first look at John Rambo in action (via an Italian newspaper) and, while he still looks jacked, at least this time he's in the midst of kicking some major ass. We're not sure what exactly is taking place in this pic (the newspaper just says it's a scene from Rambo 4), but from the looks of it, John Rambo has gotten hold of a pretty powerful weapon in which he's using to wipe out a whole truckload of baddies. Do you dig it?

Stallone pleads guilty to importing growth hormone
(AP)
15 May 2007
SYDNEY, Australia - Aging Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone pleaded guilty Tuesday to bringing vials of a restricted muscle-building hormone into Australia.
Lawyers for the 60-year-old star of the Rocky’ and Rambo’ movie franchises entered the guilty plea on behalf of the actor, who did not appear before Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court on Tuesday.
Stallone was charged with importing a banned substance into Australia after a customs search of his luggage during a Feb. 16 visit to Sydney revealed 48 vials of the human growth hormone product, Jintropin.
Human growth hormone, a naturally occurring substance that can be replicated synthetically and is used to build muscle mass, is considered a performance enhancing drug in Australia and it cannot be imported without a permit from the national drug regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
The maximum penalty for bringing Jintropin into Australia illegally is a fine of 110,000 Australian dollars (US$91,500; Ð67,532) and five years in prison, but Stallone faces a maximum penalty of just A$22,000 (US$18,000; Ð13,000) because the matter is being heard by a local, not federal, court.
Details of the sentence were not immediately released, and Stallone’s lawyers made no immediately comment.
Prosecution documents handed to the court in March said Stallone had marked No’ on a customs declaration card that asked if he was bringing into Australia restricted or prohibited goods such as medicines, steroids, firearms, weapons, or any kind of illicit drugs.’
During his three-day visit to Australia, Stallone shrugged off the airport incident.
It was just a minor misunderstanding,’ Stallone told reporters. They were just doing their jobs. I just didn’t understand some of the rules here.’
Stallone is expected to be sentenced later Tuesday.
He came to Australia on a three-day tour to promote the latest movie in the Rocky’ series, Rocky Balboa’ _ the most critically acclaimed since the original.
His hair appeared uncharacteristically long because he was preparing to reprise his role as renegade Vietnam war veteran John Rambo in another movie, media reported at the time.
His trouble with customs officials became immediately obvious when a media throng was kept waiting for hours outside Sydney International Airport for the actor and his entourage.
When a tightlipped Stallone emerged, he signed his autograph for several fans but avoided media questions about the delay.
Three days after his arrival, customs officials searched Stallone’s Sydney hotel room and private jet then allowed him to leave the country.

I think all of you would like to see this post again (if you ever saw it).. Its been said..I believe about mid 2004 and aside from missing the current information with "The real deal", "John Rambo" as well as King of California and the rest..... I think before we see penny land again Furla also stated quite bluntly that the buy-in notice was already in place and he put everybody on notice that he buy back shares if the money was there and I believe he would do it.
I believe Family Room is an ideal penny stock to own. Family Room is like a biotech stock without the biotech overhead. One hot product could put millions in the bank account. However, since they use other people's money to develop products, they don't have the huge expenses associated with biotech research. In fact, they run the entire company for about $750,000 a year. One hit movie and Family Room could earn $1 per share. (this was when we were in the 50M OS range)
They are better positioned for a big hit than they have ever been in their six year history. They are currently developing the popular 1980's Micronauts brand along with Hollywood heavyweight Gale Anne Hurd (produced Terminator 1 and 3, the Hulk, and Armageddon). They are also developing the Abominable Snowman story for a movie along with producer Ilya Sulkind (Superman 1,2, and 3).
"Project Notes Live-action feature version of "Micronauts", a line of miniature toys with removable, interchangable parts and a popular Marvel comic. Created in the 1970's by Mego Toys.

'It's nice to upset people'
12 May 2007
"I DON'T take anything seriously," Anthony Hopkins says. "I love to play. I'm young and happy. "I never grew up," the 69-year-old actor says. "This time in my life reminds me of when I was a lad in school.
I was a really poor student, so I became the clown. Playing the fool was my way of surviving. I got in a lot of trouble, and it was a lot of fun.'
Hopkins chuckles, and no wonder: The one-time class clown has become one of Hollywood's iconic actors, parlaying his Oscar-winning turn as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs (1991) into the status of a latter-day Olivier, the kind of classically brilliant thespian who moves fellow actors to do movies simply in order to work with him.
That was, in fact, the motivation that up-and-coming Ryan Gosling cited to leave his usual indie stamping grounds and go mainstream with the current Fracture, in which he plays a prosecutor trying to nail a canny aviation executive (Hopkins) who kills his cheating wife and then tries to manipulate the legal system so as to get away with murder.
But it's not Fracture that brings Hopkins to a Los Angeles hotel for this interview. Instead it's a journey into his past, a past that has defied steep odds to become his present.
'It's difficult when you wait a long time for a film to be released'
Back in 2001 Hopkins starred in an updated remake of The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941), playing a publisher who, after it turns out that one of his writers (Alec Baldwin) has literally sold his soul to the devil (Jennifer Love Hewitt) in exchange for the ability to write brilliantly, has to go to court to defend the writer in order to save his soul.
The film, which was also Baldwin's directorial debut, was successfully completed despite financial problems during the shoot, but thereafter things went to, well, the devil. The producers, already short of money, quarreled among themselves amid allegations of fiscal wrongdoing. While Baldwin was working on postproduction, the FBI seized investors' assets, included the film. Eventually a frustrated Baldwin took his name off the picture as director.
Problems continued. A rough cut of the film was shown at film festivals in 2003 and 2004, but funding wasn't available for final editing, special effects and music clearances. It was not until the Yari Film Group acquired the film that it finally got a new title, Shortcut to Happiness, and an opening date: A limited release is set for May 18, a full six years after it was shot...................

Based on his fling with Vivica A. Fox, we already know 50 CENT has a thing for older women. Has the 31-year-old rapper turned his attention toward yet another 40-something actress?
In Touch Weekly claims the G-Unit general is dating Victoria Rowell, who met the artist on the set of their recent military drama, Home of the Brave. Apparently, sparks flew and the two have been a couple ever since.
"Victoria loves the edge that 50 Cent has," a friend of the actress tells In Touch.
Rowell, who has an 11-year-old son by ex-boyfriend Wynton Marsalis, is best known for her former role as Drucilla Barber Winters on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless.

Home of the Brave, the latest film to address the war in Iraq, attempts to deliver an important message about the negative and devastating effects of our nation's war on terror. But the movie has too many flaws to be considered anything more than a noble try. The dialog lacks creativity and subtlety, the direction is mostly generic, some of the acting is overdone and awkward and the story wraps up a little too neatly - and that's just a few of the film's weaknesses.

‘Home of the Brave’ tries, but it’s a bundle of clichés
By Chuck Vinch - Staff writer
Mediocre movies don’t often implode in spectacular fashion; usually they just slowly deflate under the accumulated weight of their banalities and absurdities.
The earnest but hopelessly hokey “Home of the Brave,” clearly inspired by the 1946 classic “The Best Years of Our Lives,” is an exception — about two-thirds in, there’s a moment that will prompt audiences to cringe en masse.
It comes when phys-ed teacher Vanessa Price (Jessica Biel), an Army National Guard soldier who has recently returned from a tour in Iraq in which she lost a hand to a roadside bomb, finally lets herself open up emotionally.
She sits on her couch telling her war story to Cary (Jeffrey Nordling), a cute fellow teacher. They stare into each other’s eyes and he takes her hands — one real, one prosthetic — in his.
At this point, a low groan of wary “oh, no” anticipation rumbled through the audience at my screening. And then our fears were realized: Cary lifted Vanessa’s prosthetic hand and tenderly kissed it.
Derisive laughter rippled through the theater — surely not the reaction director Irwin Winkler and writer Mark Friedman were aiming for.
It’s no fun to criticize a movie like this, which is sincere to a fault and speaks uncomfortable truths about the apathy of a nation as its sons and daughters bleed on foreign battlefields.
But “Home of the Brave” is what it is — mawkish and awkward, cliché piled on cliché, with dialogue that starts out bad and goes downhill from there.....................

WE ARE OPPORTUNISTS!!!!!!!
DVD Review: Creepshow 3
Somehow or another George Romero seemingly lost the rights to both the Day of the Dead and Creepshow names and these opportunists bought them up. They’ve made a sequel to Day of the Dead that should’ve stayed dead and have now turned their attentions to the Creepshow franchise. In the special features director Jim Dudelson says that they’ve been “threatening” the fanbase to make Creepshow 3 and a truer use of words has never been spoken – too bad they finally followed through on the threat. To say the film is horrible might actually be doing it a favor, it sucks. Our fiends take us through five tales of crap that really don’t make too much sense. The movie starts with what looks like flash animation and pretty crappy animation at that about a kid killing a dog then opening a hotdog stand.

Hollywood Intermediate Busier Than Ever
GLENDALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2007 -- Hollywood Intermediate, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HYWI), a provider of digital intermediate film mastering services, announced today that it has worked on ten feature film projects so far this year and has expanded its HD preview service.
Hollywood Intermediate has worked with a wide variety of production companies, including Nu Image and Hyde Park Entertainment, on digital intermediates and HD previews. Digital Intermediates completed include "King of California," starring Michael Douglas, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, "The Final Season," which is premiering this week at the Tribeca Film Festival, and "Deal," directed by Gil Cates Jr. and starring Burt Reynolds. All three were graded by pioneering DI colorist Julius Friede ("O Brother Where Art Thou").
"Our flexible and efficient workflow enables us to handle multiple projects simultaneously," stated David Waters, President of Hollywood Intermediate, "and Julius Friede is able to draw on his vast experience to create the look that the client desires." Gil Cates Jr., director of "Deal," concurred, "The process and the people were truly amazing. The look of the film is exactly what I wanted."
For the movie "Homeland Security," starring Meg Ryan and Antonio Banderas and directed by George Gallo, Hollywood Intermediate was able to quickly provide multiple versions (i.e. HD outputs) for several preview screenings. "Because the scanning and color grading have already been done, it will be very easy to complete the digital intermediate process and deliver the film output," explains David Waters. "We believe we have created a cost-effective but high quality process that producers can use for test screenings."
Other recent projects completed by Hollywood Intermediate include "Asylum," directed by David R. Ellis, "Camille," produced by Albert S. Ruddy and starring Sienna Miller, and "Finding Rin Tin Tin." Hollywood Intermediate is in the process of completing digital intermediate work on "Day of the Dead," directed by Steve Miner and shot by Patrick Cady, and "Before the Rains," an Echo Lake production directed and shot in India by Santosh Sivan.

Movie review: Not 'Brave' enough
By NATHAN BURSTEIN
Home of the Brave, the latest Hollywood drama from Israeli ex-pat producers Avi Lerner and Danny Dimbort, illustrates an odd rule of cinema: that it's possible both to like a movie and not care for either its beginning or its end.
The movie, which opened last week's Eilat International Film Festival, is the first to focus on the current Iraq war and how US veterans are greeted when they return home from the conflict.
In contrast to recent dramas like Jarhead and World Trade Center, Home of the Brave rejects the safe narrative remove of earlier wars and the simple, obvious heroism that emerged in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
But while the film demonstrates its own touches of bravery merely by tackling such a loaded subject, it also concludes its overlapping storylines too neatly, too reassuringly, to make a real statement about the difficulties of living in and fighting for a country embroiled in an unpopular war of its own making.
The film opens - annoyingly and unnecessarily - with its central team of US soldiers learning they're finally being sent home, months after their initial service was extended. The set-up is an almost offensively obvious emotional ploy - a dust particle in a distant galaxy would know something's going to prevent the group's peaceful homecoming from Iraq.
The good news, then, is that Home of the Brave gets back on track relatively quickly, delivering a startling burst of violence and surprise in the ensuing ambush scene. A humanitarian convoy led by the soldiers gets stalled behind a slow-moving truck on its way to al-Hay, and the film skillfully captures the soldiers' dawning sense of danger without belaboring the acute, lethal terror of the moment. The explosions and subsequent battle scenes feel as realistically bloody as they look, and a shivery sense of recognition is almost sure to run through the veins of Israelis watching the film's vivid house-to-house clashes. Cast members who looked sure to appear in the movie's closing scenes die instead in ghastly ways, as does a veiled Iraqi woman unlucky enough simply to turn the wrong corner at the wrong time. ... continues...

A Return to the 'Home of the Brave,' Where Soldiers Fight a New Enemy
By Stephen Hunter
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, May 11, 2007; Page C01
The heaviness of war hangs everywhere in "Home of the Brave," from director Irwin Winkler. But then Winkler has never been known for his light touch. He got into the biz as a moneyman, raising bucks all those years ago for Elvis movies, and slid into producing. ( He got a Best Picture nod for Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky.") After a while though, he tired of producing (even great movies like "Raging Bull" and "GoodFellas"), so he segued into directing. The conventional line: He was a rich guy who acquired clout and decided to indulge himself directing, rather than merely producing.
But it so happens that his coarseness of touch and maybe even his old-guy grumpiness (he's 75) are just right for "Home of the Brave," a sort of updating of the great soldiers' homecoming flick "Best Years of Our Lives," but with M-16s. In the first place, Winkler remembers that movie (he was 15 when it came out in 1946), and in the second, he values it. His variation, like the original, charts the difficulties of a group of GIs reintegrating in civilian life after the dead friends, the grievous wounds, the combat mistakes, the M.A.S.H. operating tents full of screaming, shattered boys they've seen. You probably wouldn't want too delicate a movie about all this.........

Expect more reality game shows If you thought reality programming already had taken over TV, there's even more in store.
A combination of earlier success, cost pressures and the threat of strikes by Hollywood writers and actors has sparked the biggest appetite yet among networks for new "unscripted" series.
But will viewers remain hungry?
ABC has nine reality shows due this summer, starting with Bingo Night in America May 18. CBS is filming five game-show pilots this month, part of its busiest reality push yet, and Pirate Master from Survivor producer Mark Burnett is due May 31.
CW's limited success rests largely with series such as America's Next Top Model, so look for Crowned, a mother-daughter beauty pageant. NBC plans series about former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and another in which teenage couples care for borrowed babies.
Grey's Anatomy notwithstanding, recent history shows reality series have better odds than sitcoms or dramas of becoming breakout hits, and they appeal to families and young adults, who command higher ad rates. "Some of the biggest game-changers tend to be on the alternative side," says Ghen Maynard, reality chief at CBS and CW.
"Reality programming is doing so well at the networks," says Carolyn Finger, vice president at TV Tracker, which monitors trends. "The No. 1 and No. 2 shows this season are American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, while struggling NBC's top show is Deal or No Deal. "It's just simple economics."
TV Tracker says 56 network reality series will air this season, up from 51 last year, and pilot orders are up 50 percent. Entire cable networks, including MTV and Bravo, build their original lineups exclusively with the genre. "We're looking for shows that can be expanded that night if need be or the next day with a results show," NBC's Craig Plestis says.
Games are the flavor of the moment, thanks to the success of Deal and the low upfront cost. Though they tend to burn out more quickly, even with lower ratings they remain enormously profitable. "Other than clip shows, it's pretty much the least expensive thing you can do," Fox reality chief Mike Darnell says.
The bonus starts at 45M and increases as the number goes up. You can plan on 300 or 400K as a bonus, which is good but the big money will come when they can double the 45M.. Till they get on their own like Borderland,White Air and Rin Tin Tin there is just a share of the profits.. They got a good model and it should be good for some time cause their down side is small.. Which is why their pay at these low level of earnings (2 or 3M a year) is way too high. And still leave money in development for greater profits.

In "Wanted," Common (his birth certificate reads "Lonnie Rashid Lynn") will play Gunsmith, a supervillain who helps train a young assassin (James McAvoy) when the other man discovers that he's inherited some of his late father's killing skills. Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman co-star in the comic book adaptation, set to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Common will also play a drug dealer posing as an undercover cop in James Ellroy's "The Night Watchman" (a film the other trade paper thinks has been retitled "Night Watch"). The David Ayer-directed film features Keanu Reeves as a disgraced cop going head-to-head with his mentor (Forest Whitaker) to root out corruption in the LAPD. Hugh Laurie and Chris Evans co-star.
Common made his big screen acting debut in the ensemble "Smokin' Aces." He'll next be seen with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in "American Gangster."
The artist formerly known as Common Sense will release his latest album, "Finding Forever," in July.
For Douglas,,, I seriously doubt if we are involved.. But if we are?? It will be.
You did if it pans out!
"""This is why I say that Equity Pictures is more than likely the financier! Connecting all the recent dots kind of thing Equity Pictures is the obvious speculative financier from where I sit.""" YOUR QUOTE!!!
Treat Equity pictures like a bank with its hand out... They get a piece of the pie and they are guaranteed their money back or at least all the first money to satisfy the debt.
You are correct about the old sour grapes and thats what they are.
FMLY is tied to Millenium because of Emmett.. Nothing more,, and Emmett in my opinion does some pretty good work for cheep.. Still looking for that block buster..
Every year that goes buy FMLY falls slightly farther away from Millennium and their picture deal has not been mentioned in about 2 years.. SO there is no guarantee picture number that they have planned. You cannot show me anything recent.
Emmett and Furla go out and create and find actors to fill the ticket.. Then they go to Avi Lerner and sell the package..Lerner has the connections with Equity Pictures.. Emmett and Furla do not.. So they sell their sole to the devil and take very little risk and only get paid well when their idea does 45M. Its a good program and unfortunately it can take awhile to hit the big one.
