EXACTLY!
If they lay out a clear path with milestones for all to see and PR each milestone achievement, it will increase incrementally. In the past they did not do this very well because they kept changing directions. They can get it to $4 - $5 in due course if they show a newfound expedience and have a little "swagger" to back it up!
Dude, now is not the time to fret. The MDT deal is just commencing. We just went from .25 to 1.15 in 2 weeks, with lots of fluctuation. We are also diluting. Give it time. This is the birth of ISRG's first big competitor. This is still development phase PLUS many MANY investors feel they were burned by this group in the past so they are gun-shy about getting back in. It will happen. Be patient.
Good 'ol Longtai.
Rocko actually had the right idea about a lot of this. He just zeroed in on the wrong company.
Double what Liv? How much? Medtronic is not going to give up what they put into it PLUS the potential market share they will gain once they are selling the device. Only way they decide to sell their 30% share is if the device isn't all that, which I doubt will be the case.
Run the scenario in your head... you think if MDT offers $3 to $5 bil to Titan in 2 years, ISRG is gonna say, "hey, we will give ya $9 billion?" That means MDT gets roughly $3 bil for their share ownership of the company. MDT is not going to give up the potential market share (MIS market estimated $33 billion by 2026) for $3 billion. And that deal doesn't leave us (Titan stockholders) in much better of a position than if Medtronic just plunked down $5 bil for the remaining 70% of Titan.
Make sense?
No, not saying that at all. I am saying if Medtronic did actually fund the offering and exercises the 9 million warrants, they have almost 1/3 control. THEY WILL ALREADY OWN 30% OF THE COMPANY. It would take an outrageous offer (from ISRG or JnJ) for them to agree to sell. The potential market share for Medtronic is too great. They will have a lot of voting power. But the other ~70% of the company will not come cheap.
Add in the 9 million warrants.
Liv, you are not being rational. If MDT could own close to 1/3 of Titan at the point of FDA approval, a bidding war with ISRG is not happening. So ISRG is gonna buy a piece of MDT? Do you realize the voting power MDT will hold at that point? They've dotted their i's and crossed their t's on this.
Management should start buying now. The deal they've been working on is done.
I also believe it was MDT that financed the offering.
Disagree. In his defense, Jim was soured after so many missteps by Titan. He was a long for quite awhile. Until fairly recently, most of what he said was not off-base at the time he said it. He admitted he started to short the stock after becoming so disgruntled. The last few months though, he really tried to tear Titan down. I don't know the guy personally but I do not hold a grudge. He just became overly frustrated. BTW, if any of you have seen SPORT19 on the "other" board (ST), that is not him.
Right there with ya brother.
Actually, all-time high is around $75 if you factor in the RS.. We were above $2.35 in July of 2014. That was pre-RS.
Yep. This mofo almost put me in an early grave. My wife still doesn't know how much $ I tied up in this.
Realize MDT will already own almost 1/3 of the company. That's HUGE voting power. ISRG would have to pay MDT OUTRAGEOUS money to want out.
Added about 15k over past few days.
Is Reiza alive? Have to assume dude still owns a big chunk of Titan.
I wonder if Lefty is still kick'n?
A bidding war would be great but don't expect one. If MDT could possibly own 30% of Titan over the coming months, they're pretty much locked in.
I have 2700 up there for sale now. Eat'em whale. The $ will be better used elsewhere.
Thanks again!
That is if all available warrants are exercised and if no additional options are granted? Are there any significant warrant tranches close to expiration?
Thanks!
So what will the final OS count be at submission after warrants are exercised HC? Roughly 100 mil?
Interesting choice. Gives us a small window to buy cheaper shares. I'm okay with that. Mad that I bought some today at $1.40 but it still drops my cost basis. I did get a chunk at $1.23 as well. I have so much more confidence buying into this scenario.
If MDT purchased the offering, it was already planned IMO. It didn't just happen in the days since the initial MDT announcement last week. This whole deal has been in the works for awhile. The only question management for both sides had was where would the stock price end up after the dust settled on the initial announcement.
Regardless, it was a heckuva move and a heckuva boost to morale for stakeholders.
It tells me they legitimately want a piece of this company if all goes well through the remainder of development. It also tells me they would have acquired a stake in Titan to help fend off bidding competitors. The final price tag will be a bit lower however since this would mean they've acquired a partial stake in the company at a deep discount compared to what it might be in a year or so.
Congrats and good luck. I'm still here for the long haul. Adding a bit more here and there.
I try not to engage in price speculation anymore. I think this stock has immense potential. The company is back on track, and, because of the untapped market and lack of competitors, if the technology is sound, the price is at the bottom with exponential growth ahead.
Agree! He was often right on the money with his analysis but because of it, he convinced himself this was a lost cause. I hope he got back in. I feel bad for the guy.
Depends on the buyer of the offering. If it was in fact MDT, Titan may not have had a choice.
Keep holding as much as you can. If you understand this market and what new competition to ISRG really means, this will eventually make you a multi-millionaire.
Like many on this board, I bought into this way too early and have put in significantly more money for significantly less ownership.
I will still be okay in the long run though.
You did well my friend... you did well.
I'm sure he will be back. I'm also guessing he will take a long position again, if he hasn't already.
YEP. It is a beautiful sight to behold!
Great work going back and compiling this info. Had forgotten some it. Thank you!
Has "The Rock" announced his retirement date yet?
You know HC, you actually make a good point. The Chad Z hire was a nice addition but, in reality, it did not really make sense at the time. They really did not need his expertise at that point. BUT... perhaps he was brought in to conduct some due diligence for MDT? The timing makes perfect sense... July 2019 through Feb 2020.
Gotta believe Medtronic would have a First Right of Refusal clause in this deal just for the day if/when buyout talks heat up. If Titan can get a viable device through clearance, and ISRG THEN wants a piece... WOW! But I doubt it... they just passed on the chance to bail out Titan already.
That is key. Been saying it for years. We need to get this FULLY FUNDED! That is when dilution can be accretive. We are so much closer now than just a few days ago. Im not absolving management of their past sins. BUT, they certainly did pull this mofo out of a dumpster fire. They will get considerable street cred for that!
We are due for an AGM. Have they announced anything yet?
Was wondering about that yesterday. Will they still be involved?
Live, I'm jazzed too. It appears they may have saved this trainwreck! It's quite miraculous.
BUT...
I am going to be cautiously exuberant. Already people are back on the board talking about a $5 bil+ buyout. I'm taking this one day at a time. Let's get'er to the $3 to $4 range first so I can see some green.
Medtronic may just be Titan's saving grace. But let's let this play out. So many got in so deep years ago because of talk like this. I have blinders on. I will probably buy even more shares. But I'm not going ALL IN just yet. I want to see more confidence from the market, from KOLs, from engineering experts, etc.
I HOPE we all see that big payday. Just don't want to make the same mistake!
