Pro Elite’s “Explosive” New Trailer For Aug. 27 Hawaiin Event
Greg Jackson won’t be with Brendan Schaub or any other fighter in Rio de Janeiro for UFC 134. Why? Because he will be in Hawaii, cornering the man he intends to resurrect -- Andrei Arlovski. Arlovski fights on the same night (Aug. 27) in ProElite’s newly rebooted model. The chants of Arlovski being a shot fighter have gotten to Jackson, who says he intends to prove all reports of his demise premature.

The shadow of what's to come

It's pretty damn clear to anyone with a functioning brain that Zuffa just gave Golden Glory a mega-bitchslap / message by firing three of their athletes from two of their promotions. What's more interesting is hearing what official line will be given for what's happening. It won't surprise me if Dana White lays it all out and says fuck 'em when asked after UFC 133. But in the meantime, here's Scott Coker on Mauro Ranallo's Fight Show trying to pretend nothing untowards happened yesterday:
There's only so many TV spots, as you know, before the middle of next year. ...The slots are going to be for the fighters that are victorious right now. And we have a lot of athletes under contract and we have to get everyone a fight and there are only so many slots so . There are only so many TV dates and we only have two more TV dates on the big show before the end of the year and September is already full and December is getting full and January is our finals and that's going to have our full priorities. So in fairness to the athletes, why just have them hang around? I think it's a much more fair situation to let them fight elsewhere and have them build another future somewhere else.
So what happens in the middle of next year? Hmm. What was it again. Oh yeah ... Strikeforce's deal with Showtime comes up for renewal. And while Showtime has the option to extend things until 2014, this is starting to sound less and less likely. First the UFC took Nick Diaz. Then they fired Alistair Overeem (a fact Showtime was so unhappy about they pretended it didn't happen during last weekend's show). Getting rid of Fedor is almost guaranteed, and Hendo is probably gone too. In a few short months Zuffa has dismantled half of what Showtime spent so much effort meddling to create. Does this sound like a situation where Showtime says 'Sign me up for 2 more years'?

Dana White Is a Filthy F*cking Liar, According to Marloes Coenen’s Check-Stub
Marloes Coenen UFC Strikeforce check stub Golden Glory twitter
Dana White, explaining Zuffa’s recent axing of Alistair Overeem, Valentijn Overeem, Marloes Coenen, and Jon Olav Einemo:
“This is actually a pretty simple explanation. If you look back throughout history, we haven’t had any Golden Glory guys fight with us since Semmy Schilt, right? And the reason is we have very different business practices. It’s tough to do business with them. The bottom line is the way they do business is, you have to pay them, not the fighters. We don’t work that way. It’s not the way we do business. It’s not how it works in the United States with the athletic commissions. You don’t pay the managers and the managers pay the fighters. You pay the fighters and the fighters pay the managers…The reality is, we’re trying to work out deals with these guys and they won’t do it. They said you absolutely can’t pay the fighters, you have to pay us. And it’s pretty simple to look back and see that the last guy who fought in UFC was Semmy Schilt. There was a reason for that.”

Another great article and a great up to date list of the growing numbers and types of fatalities, current and future as well as a great mapping of the direction of the Titanic of a company otherwise known as Strikeforce!
I along with many called this some time ago literally in the minute the word came that Zuffa had purchased the Strikeforce ship in its function, promise and its full glory as well standing prominence on route to its next big voyage and sent it full steam ahead with the band playing and all, right directly into the Iceberg that is Zuffa itself.
So it could then pick up any pieces it wanted at the market depreciated value and attempt to destroy any others it did not want or did not want them in an attempt to reduce or eliminate any previous value they might have had in their previous iteration under the previous company, within the industry and the sport known as MMA.
As a growing number of people continue to say, we all know how this story ends! The Band plays on as the Boat Sinks! Only to leave others to tell their story!
The GOOD NEWS is that Passenger Travel does continue and the ocean that is MMA has a New friend, new hope and new destination via a Company not limited by the creation that is Zuffa and that company goes by the name ProElite!
Giving the Fans, Fighter and Investors new hope for a new day and a great future! This boat has set sail and is headed for the promised land! All aboard!!!
Go ProElite!
Actually based on your on the date of Apr 1 - nobody said Apr 1 would be met as the end date as reported was 3 to 6 months and that makes the end date as the end Sept.
As to your own Quote "Even though PELE had nothing to do with the fraudulent act and case, pity they are being held accountable"
You stated it yourself "PELE had nothing to do with the fraudulent act and case"
So why would they!
To your own point "I always question the comments that pass their deadline dates and calculations"
They have not passed their deadline dates and calculations as they have until Oct as you have kindly stated!
The company is not responsible and neither is anyone here!
So I would suggest anyone attacking either, not to do so here!
If you choose to attack the company, back it up with data/proof that the company is either holding it up or involved in the issue and case at hand.
If you attack individuals that will not be tolerated and your posts will come under review as part of the guidelines under TOU and removed if deemed to be a violation and if so which is likely if it's an attack!
And if you really want to put blame, blame the DTC and any Brokerage participating unfairly to their own clients, who decided to put a partial block( As this is Stock is still trading with a number of Brokerages ) and blame the people who were and are involved in the Hedge fund as they have Pele and whole lot of other company's and Stocks involved locked and are holding up trading at the participating Brokerages only.
The Good News is that the Lock should be lifted very soon!
Go ProElite!
Not really! ProElite and Strikeforce have many ties and to be honest for the longest time I have looked at Strikeforce as a place holder for ProElite!
Not to take away in that there were some moves and some things Strikeforce had done fundamentally that were solid moves but Strikeforce as we know it today was largely built out of ProElite property and now ProElite is taking back it's place and position within the industry it helped to build.
In my opinion ProElite will grow to be bigger, stronger and better than it ever was competing at the highest levels and is already off to a great start with a fantastic Fight Card, a News Conference, a New Commercial and a New Web Site as well as plans for more Events this year aside from a full year of Events already in the works for 2012, major discussions underway with the biggest fighters in the industry and TV and other Broadcast Deals in the works, essentially pushing aside would be contenders while making sound business decisions doing it. Sounds like money to me and lots of it!
Let me throw something else into the mix, lets be realistic there is a debate to be made that Strikeforce sold out knowing it had already a mix of low level competitors biting at their feet and solid competition coming in the form of ProElite with many of Strikeforce's key possessions in form of Contracts and License agreements ProElite had previously owned!
In my opinion the UFC bought Strikeforce out of fear as is well documented by many News outlets that ProElite was already in discussions to buy Strikeforce as it was, but make no mistake about it I get no sense nor is there any indication that ProElite and Stratus Media were even phased with the UFC's purchase of Strikeforce as they were already making moves to push back into the industry in big way and there key plans were well underway with their only intent in looking at Strikeforce for acquisition being if they could buy them at a reasonable price great and if not they were on route to emerge as the next big player in the industry!
Go ProElite!
The company who Designed the Web Site for ProElite also has done a number of other sites including Strikeforce's! They have also designed and built a number of other Media Tools for sites including Blogs, Forums and full Social Networking/Media Tools. It will be interesting to see the many things that are included for the New ProElite Site!

The Future of Strikeforce and the Elephant in the Room
Posted by Adam Tool on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 1:00 pm· 10 Comments
In a way, I almost feel sorry for Miesha Tate.
Here’s a woman who won her opportunity to compete for a title almost a year ago, only to have it given to someone else after she was sidelined with an injury. After nearly a year away from the cage Miesha returned and gave an outstanding performance to win the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship. There can be little doubt that this will be one of the greatest moments of her mixed martial arts career.
Will any of it matter in a year’s time? Will there still be a women’s division in Strikeforce next summer? Will there still be a Strikeforce next summer?
We don’t know much about the deal that Zuffa made to acquire Strikeforce this past March, but we do know that part of the deal includes finishing out the myriad of contracts Scott Coker and Co. had signed over the years. Hence the now hilariously ironic phrase “business as usual,” repeated over and over during Dana White’s announcement of the sale. The idea he was pushing was that Strikeforce would continue to operate as a separate unit while the UFC did their own thing. Zuffa would own the two top MMA organizations in the world and pretend that they had no control over Strikeforce.
The problem is that everybody knows how this story ends. Strikeforce as an MMA organization is living on borrowed time. They have contracts with broadcasters and fighters and those contracts need to be honored, but once that business is done it would be foolish for anyone to believe the Strikeforce will live on as a separate brand in this sport. Every other MMA promotion that has been purchased by Zuffa has ceased to exist sooner or later.
The end is nigh, but nobody wants to look at the crazy guy on the street holding the sign. The promoters, the fighters, the fans and the media want to continue acting as though Strikeforce is a real promotion with a real future. Why?
The Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion took three years to defend his belt only to eventually be released by the organization over the weekend. Their lightweight champion recently spent a year on the sidelines waiting for the company to line up a challenger (and he has no current fight scheduled). They also left their other women’s champion on the sidelines due to a lack of challengers, then spent no time or effort towards building new opponents for her. Their middleweight belt has been abandoned almost as many times as it’s been defended.
The championships of Strikeforce already had little value beyond the metal and leather they were made of before the Zuffa purchase, and unfortunately that value has all but evaporated now that the more prestigious UFC titles are just an arm’s length away.
This leads us to former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz. He had eliminated all challengers within the Strikeforce welterweight division, and at the same time he was hungry for bigger fights with better paydays. He started running some reports that he was going to try his hand at boxing, but this was merely leverage to get what he really wanted: a shot at UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre.
Diaz does have the valid point of having no big money fights left in Strikeforce, but now that one champion has jumped ship to the UFC how long can it be before other title holders start to want the same kind of treatment?
It’s not just champions either. Former Strikeforce poster boy and current B-movie star Cung Le has publicly stated that he will not be coming back to Strikeforce, and if he does make a return to MMA it will only be for the UFC. Jason “Mayhem” Miller was snatched up by the UFC shortly after the sale and will soon be seen as one of the head coaches on The Ultimate Fighter. Several other contracted Strikeforce fighters have taken to calling out guys under the UFC banner.
It’s clear that most of the fighters are ready to move on to the brighter lights and bigger paydays of the UFC, but there can be little done in the face of those aforementioned pre-existing contracts. Strikeforce is obligated to deliver so many events for Showtime, fighters are guaranteed so many fights, and of course certain fighters have their special allowances written in. Diaz had a clause that allowed him to box, and without it who knows if he would have gotten the fight with GSP?
The point I’m making here is that while Strikeforce can continue to put on entertaining events (as they did this past weekend) I will continue to watch. However I refuse to pretend that those belts Coker is wrapping around fighters’ waists have that much value beyond the shiny precious metals so carefully arranged on their surface.
I’ll leave you with this question that I posed on Twitter this past Saturday night: If Tarec Saffiedine were to be offered a shot at the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship or a pre-lim spot on a UFC PPV, which one do you think he would pick?

Marloes Coenen Cut From Stikeforce, Zuffa Killing Women’s MMA?
August 3, 2011 By CagE Leave a Comment
UFC cleans house with Team Golden Glory — Marloes Coenen and Valentijn Overeem have been cut from Stikeforce according to her coach Martijn de Jong.
Could this be the sign that Zuffa has had enough of Women’s MMA. Or could this be just retaliation on Netherlands based Team Golden Glory who represents Alistair Overeem.
Coenen has defeated a who’s who of top fighters in the sport. She took the title away from Sarah Kaufman last year before giving it up to Miesha Tate last weekend via a perfectly executed arm triangle choke.
To cut a fighter of her caliber, it seem like Zuffa has no plans to further Women’s MMA.

Strikeforce Fedor Vs. Henderson Results: Bad Stoppage Mars What Might Have Been An Epic
By Jonathan Snowden - Feature Writer
Fedor Emelianenko, victim of a bad stoppage just as much as he was a victim of Dan Henderson, deserves more from officials like Herb Dean.
Jul 31, 2011 - The greatest fighter in heavyweight history went down for the third time in a row. It's hard to watch heroes fall, and worse, if it was his last fight, he didn't get to go out on his shield like a true warrior. Instead, referee Herb Dean botched what might be the end of a legendary career. Dean leaped between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson in the middle of a scramble after Henderson had rocked Fedor with a right uppercut.
Fedor may have been out briefly, but looked coherent and was jockeying for position as Dean stepped in. To make matters worse, the stoppage was prompted by two hard and potentially illegal punches to the back of the head by Henderson. Showtime's announcing team of Mauro Ranallo, Frank Shamrock, and Gus Johnson never once mentioned the questionable legality of the blows, either while waiting what felt like forever for a replay of the finish, or after they were shown in gruesome slow motion.
Emelianenko deserves better. All fighters do, but great champions even more so. If it's time for Fedor to walk away it should be unambiguous. This was far from it. Before the stoppage the two men were battling blow for blow. Who knows what would have happened next? We've certainly seen Fedor come back from the brink of disaster, most notably against Kevin Randleman. We've also seen Henderson have a fighter nearly out, like Jake Shields, only to allow him to come back and win.
I wanted to know which fighter was the better man last night. We never found out. The fans and the fighters both deserve better.

Agree entirely! But thinking end/first of the month and somebody needs money badly! Not very smart in my opinion! I really think we are going to hear something very soon of the company's next Big Steps and those Shares that those people sold today along with all the others Investors are still holding are going to be worth a whole lot more! But any who want too, feel free to give your Shares aways as there are many who will gladly take them off your hands! Big Things Ahead for POW!

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 - Stan Lee and Yoshiki
by Carlo Santos, Jul 21st 2011
Left to right: Todd McFarlane, Stan Lee, Yoshiki.
A unique creative team joined forces at Comic-Con 2011 as living legend Stan Lee, X-Japan drummer/pianist Yoshiki, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and writer Jon Goff announced the launch of their new comic series, Blood Red Dragon.
The panel began with a promotional video showcasing Yoshiki's worldwide fame, as well as displaying some preview images of the comic. Panel moderator Joey Esposito then introduced the comic's creators as they took the stage.
With his natural showmanship, Lee led the panel most of the way, beginning with effusive praise for McFarlane's and Yoshiki's talents. He then explained how he met Yoshiki at a party and originally planned to collaborate on a music video (with Lee making a cameo, of course). Yoshiki then explained how they came up with the idea for the comic: Stan offered to turn Yoshiki into a superhero. Speaking about his intentions, Yoshiki added, "I wanted to beat Spider-Man. I wanted to beat Batman."
With Yoshiki starring as the protagonist of the series, Lee worked out the series' creative direction and brought in McFarlane and Goff to handle the actual story and art of the comic.
When asked what what he wanted to accomplish from the comic that he couldn't accomplish with music, Yoshiki first answered, "I don't know." McFarlane, however, said that the comic was a way to experience Yoshiki's creative expression outside of simply going to his concerts. Yoshiki then expanded on this by saying, "Our concert is usually filled with fans, but this comic book, we have a lot of enemies. That's wonderful. We have something to fight [against]."
Goff detailed the plot of the comic, describing how Yoshiki's character in the comic manifests superpowers through his music, but must use those powers defeat an enemy that seeks to control the world. Goff also added that the story elements in the comic connect with the themes and lyrics of X-Japan's repertoire.
The most interesting marriage of comics and music, though, could be found in the preview copy of Blood Red Dragon itself: when opened, the comic plays a snippet of music like a greeting card. Yoshiki's concept for the music clip was something spooky, but—in his own words—"with an Asian taste, a dragon taste."
The panel was then opened up to questions. One audience member asked if there are plans to include other members of X-Japan as characters in the comic, and Yoshiki said that he would love to incorporate them into the story. Another question was about the possibiltiy of a tie-in music video, and although the project is still in its early stages, McFarlane was interested in the idea. McFarlane also added that he was impressed about Yoshiki's level of personal input in the comic, as opposed to other celebrities who often just want their name slapped on a vanity project.

Strikeforce Signs a Likely Death Warrant After Releasing Alistair Overeem
By Dale De Souza (Featured Columnist) on July 29, 2011
Arguably, one of the stupidest things any promoter can do in the mixed martial arts realm of the sports universe is release any of their world champions.
It doesn't matter if the champion is injured or if he somehow winds up in some sort of situation that disallows him to compete for some time, but for a promoter to release the champion from the promotion is ridiculous and unquestionably that would raise a question of if said promoter has an interest in keeping the company active for more than 48 hours.
Especially when the champion chopped from the promotional block is the heavyweight champion. That instance makes the release extremely questionable.
MMA Fighting reports that earlier today, now-former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem was been released from the promotion.
It's been well-documented that a broken toe caused Overeem to pull out of his fight with Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, a situation where multiple theories have been proposed and a situation where scheduling issues have also come into play.
The scheduling issue stems from Showtime officials scheduling the event for September 10, a date by which the broken toe of The Reem would not be healed in time for Silva.
Also of note is that Overeem's native Netherlands hosts the United Glory card that Overeem is scheduled for, and all these things could be attributed to the release of Overeem, but they also raise a question in my mind:
Should any of that matter when Overeem is the Strikeforce heavyweight champion?
Overeem said he would not be ready until October, when he will no longer be hurt and thus be able to fight at United Glory's next event on the MMA portion of the card.
Is it the end of the world—or the Strikeforce promotion—if Overeem would've rather fought Bigfoot in October, where a loss could've been chalked up to Bigfoot's development as a fighter?
Did Overeem have to fight with an excuse for his fans to unwillingly fall back on against a fighter who clearly is developing?
Dana White admitted to Sports Illustrated that he really doesn't get too involved with what goes down in Strikeforce, and Scott Coker is the guy who is responsible for the fact of Overeem being DREAM heavyweight champion and K-1 heavyweight champion.
Had White been as involved with Strikeforce as he's been with the UFC, two things would've happened:
1. Dana White would have one hell of a migraine.
2. Overeem would never have been able to fight for United Glory, but at least he'd still be in Strikeforce.
There is definitely more to this than meets the eye, but the take-home point here is that Overeem was the leader of Strikeforce's heavyweight class until earlier today.
His fighting style and natural humility drew the MMA world to the Strikeforce brand of Mixed Martial Arts at a time when Cain Velasquez was healing, Junior Dos Santos was prepping for Velasquez, Brock Lesnar was going five rounds with diverticulitis and Fedor Emelianenko was preparing for Dan Henderson.
Shocking to his detractors, he also did not piss hot after any of his fights.
He, Fedor, Gilbert Melendez and Nick Diaz helped fans discover Strikeforce during a time when there was zero alternative to the UFC, and Overeem was a name fans would have paid to see regardless of how good his opponents truly were.
Overeem was the champion of the one division that even a casual fan would not dare turn away from, and yet the decision was made to eliminate the last fight left on his contract.
Maybe the company can survive if the Grand Prix winner gets the heavyweight crown, but unless the winner can develop a creative enough style to pull crowds in, it's a long shot that the company survives past the second quarter of 2012.
Sergei Kharitonov, Bigfoot Silva and Daniel Cormier are talented fighters that can keep crowds awake in fights and possibly cause even casual fans to get electric for a heavyweight title bout, so maybe Strikeforce won't totally be staring death in the face if Josh Barnett loses the Grand Prix.
However, with Overeem gone and Fedor on his way out if he loses to Hendo, it'll be a miracle if Strikeforce survives long enough for the Grand Prix to reach its end.

Legendary Pride Referee Yuji Shimada to Ref at Pro Elite's August Event!
Yuji Shimada is an MMA legend. His days officiating for Pride FC put his name in the annals of fight history. Since the days of Pride, Yushida has remained active, officiating mixed martial arts events in Asia and abroad and we will soon see him center cage at Pro Elite's first, post-resurrection event, "ProElite Version 2.0" on August 27.
ProElite Director of Fight Operations, TJ Thompson, announced the addition of Yuji to the ProElite family on Thursday's edition of the Tapout Live Radio show.
"Can I give Tapout Live exclusive Pride information? Decided today referee for Pro Elite "Version 2.0" -- Yuji Shimada.
Yuji was actually Icon Sport's head of officiating as well. So, it only made sense to bring him in. Just got done talking to Rich about that. Gotta get 'em licensed in Hawaii, but we'll have Yuji Shimada in the center of the cage..."
Also on the menu.
TJ Thompson is an experieced promoter who owned the long-running Icon Sports (Super Brawl) in Hawaii. He also discussed the August card, competing with the UFC, and the irony of now working with Rich Chou, who formerly worked with the Penn brothers, promoting rival Hawaiian promotion Rumble on the Rock. Before joining the board of executives at ProElite, Chou was also a matchmaker for Strikeforce.

I don't think it will! I guess she will have to wait to figure out if it is and how bad but she finished the fight in very solid fashion.
In any case ProElite has been in touch with some other very high end Female MMA Fighter Talent so I believe they would have no problem filling the spot if it did become an issue but personally don't think it will be.
I think they did very well as well considering and as noted previously they are challenges with communications Hawaii which was one of the reasons they were not too concerned with a formal Standard TV Broadcast of the actual Event either! You can bet they will improve immensely by the Event Time and as more and more production is done in general as well as well I would think they will be capturing the Event locally with standard Video Camera and equipment for distribution at a later point. Either way as noted it is a Great Card and I think it will be an incredible Event with top line talent!
Go Pro!
Looks like Rampage Jackson was going to MusclePharm HQ probably in preparation and Promotion of his September 24th, 2011 Main Card Event. I guess we can expect to see lots of Muscle Pharm at the Event!

The Fight between Arlovski and Lopez is actually a pretty good Fight as well. Arlovski is a legend but Lopez is considered a pretty good Fighter himself with a very solid MMA record and is a also a trained Professional Boxer.
Lopez Won by TKO in his last MMA Fight which only made it to the 75 second point into the 1st Round and has a total of 4 Wins in his last 5 MMA Fights!
Only 1 Fight in those 5 Fights making it to the 2nd Round and that Fight lasted under 1 minute into the 2nd Round with Lopez taking that one also.
I have actually watched some other MMA Events with Lopez in them with other MMA Organizations including National Fighting Championships that I don't see on his record at all, all of which he won in pretty solid fashion as well!
Actually some pretty nice wins and he can be very dangerous on his Feet with his hands and well as Legs in addition to on the Ground and this should very much challenge Arlovski greatly.
Although I still favour and pick Arlovski for the Win in either case it should make for a very good fight.
It will either help to prove Arlovski still has the ability to Win against very solid Fighters and put him again back on rise or add a very big Win to Lopez and in either case I really think this will be a very good Fight with both Fighters very hungry for the Win.
This is going to be a very interesting Fight with lots of potential and a Fantastic Event! IMO!
Go ProElite!
I have also heard him as well and think he is a great addition as Commentator and a seasoned veteran of MMA. I also agree and think he would at this point be much better positioned as a Commentator.
I think the addition of Yuji Shimada as a Referee is pretty nice touch as well catering to the hardcore MMA Fans with the history of the sport as well as again adding credibility and substance to the Event!
Go ProElite!
"Payout Perspective: ProElite’s August 27 event from Hawaii has been building up nicely in the past couple of weeks. T.Jay Thompson and Rich Chou have done a great job of piecing the card together with a good mix of recognizable veteran names along with young prospects. The additions of Kendall Grove, Reagan Penn, and Kala Hose to the card should translate into good attendance numbers for the promotion. Young prospects such as Mark Ellis and Sara McMann will bring credibility to the promotion and should begin the process of creating their own stars.
Sources have informed MMAPayout that the event will most likely be streamed from Sherdog.com as the UFC Rio event concludes. Another interesting piece of news is that Jens Pulver is in talks to become ProElite’s color commentator for the event.
Legendary PRIDE referee Yuji Shimada will also be working the August ProElite event in Hawaii.
MMAHAWAII.com will be streaming the press conference live."
