Congress needs to build a mini hospital on their grounds.
Republican Chuck Grassley, the oldest member of the US senate, has been admitted to hospital where he is being treated for an infection.
The 90-year-old Senator is receiving antibiotic infusions at hospital in his home state of Iowa, his office said.
He will miss Tuesday vote to advance a short-term spending bill which seeks to avoid a government shutdown.

Well- there's this which would suggest he was inside during jury selection and where he wasn't supposed to have phone access.
Former President Trump has departed Manhattan federal court prior to the delivery of opening statements in his defamation damages trial.
Trump voluntarily showed up to court for jury selection this morning, and did not return after the lunch break. He has a campaign event scheduled later today in New Hampshire.
His attorney suggested Trump would return to court for at least part of tomorrow's proceedings, when E. Jean Carroll is expected to be the first witness.
The jury has been sworn in, with opening statements to begin following instructions from the judge.
I thought there were going to be no phones allowed in the courtroom........
That's what they always say- "It was just a joke". Only it never was. Stone totally belongs in jail!
And the judges seem to have just about enough of them too.
@eorden
Trump legal adviser Boris Epshteyn just tried to speak in court, but was denied.
Judge Kaplan: "Are you a member of the bar of this court?"
Epshteyn: "I’m a member of the New York state bar."
Kaplan: "Alright, then please have a seat."
Different trial and it still won't stop him from attackinks.
The New York Court of Appeals has shot down an appeal from Donald Trump against a gag order issued in his civil fraud trial.
"On the Court's own motion, appeal dismissed, without costs, upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved," the court wrote in a Tuesday ruling. "Motion for a stay dismissed as academic."
Trump has been under a gag order since October. The gag order prohibits the former president from publicly talking about the court's staff. The order followed Trump targeting both the judge presiding over his case and her chief law clerk through Truth Social posts.
A New York appellate court upheld the gag orders last month. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron already fined Trump twice for violating the gag order, as well as extending it to his attorneys.
I forgot he was even running.

BREAKING: Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has ended his long-shot GOP presidential bid.
Look- no more HOP debates:
@NikkiHaley
We’ve had five great debates in this campaign. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has ducked all of them. He has nowhere left to hide. The next debate I do will either be with Donald Trump or with Joe Biden. I look forward to it.

They could (but won't) try and recruit Kinzinger. The other half of the Rs who voted for impeachment.

Thanks. He has a major job in front of him. When DeBoer left, we had a lot of decomits. Wonder if any of them will return? Also if any of Fisch's assistants will come with? Really have to hope he's a good recruiter as well as a coach.

I totally agree with this sentiment

I'm not saying Donald Trump should die in prison.
I'm saying we should give him the chance.
I did, yes.
Penix was pretty banged up during the game.
A teammate landed on Penix's right ankle in the third quarter. And he held onto the lower right section of his stomach, indicating a potential rib injury.
With a little rest, he should be completely fine. Hope he's drafted by a team that appreciates him.
Deal is done He's already in Alabama. We were just a stop along the way.
I'd say they didn't. I haven't seen one comment on it all day.
No idea. Guess he thought someone would care.
Watch him cry to his cult members for money now.
Well- here's his big damn statement
Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says he likes a few of the GOP candidates for president but he is sure of one thing: He is “Never Nikki.”
Mr. Paul, a Republican and leading libertarian in Congress, accused former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley of promoting “endless wars,” unlimited funding for Ukraine and other countries and faulted her praise of the U.N. during her time as U.S. ambassador to the international body.
“I am #NeverNikki and I hope you will be too,” Mr. Paul wrote on X.
Mr. Paul announced his stance one day after teasing a major announcement, leading some to believe he would endorse former President Donald Trump or independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Mr. Paul said he liked both candidates and aspects of the campaign run by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, though he mostly lambasted Ms. Haley.
“As I look over the field, I don’t think I yet have a first choice, but I do know one thing: count me in as #NeverNikki!” he wrote.
The senator took particular exception to Ms. Haley’s belief that internet posters should be verified instead of remaining anonymous, an assertion that Ms. Haley later walked back.
“Based on her record and campaign, I don’t see how any thoughtful or informed libertarian or conservative should vote for @NikkiHaley,” Mr. Paul wrote.
Mr. Paul weighed in as Ms. Haley rises in the polls, particularly in New Hampshire, and positions herself as the main alternative to Mr. Trump, the clear front-runner in the GOP primary, instead of Mr. DeSantis.
The senator’s non-endorsement is a play on Republicans who assert they are “Never Trump” and earned a mixed reaction from online commentators.
Jenna Ellis, a former Trump lawyer cooperating in the Georgia prosecution against the ex-president, said Mr. Paul was playing it safe.
“’Never Nikki’ is the easiest position for any conservative to take. Tell us who you’re FOR,” she wrote on X.

Can you see him winning any caucus or primary?
I think both Kennedy and Ramasmarmy are irrelevant and no one pays any attention to Paul unless he's causing trouble.
No-that he isn't.
Say what?? Best use a pen and make sure your fried chicken is dead.

: "The amount of fentanyl just in a pencil tip...will kill you dead. Dead as fried chicken."
OK- that makes sense too.
LOL! Nomination Fraud!

Smoke and Fire rising from the Port of Hodeidah in Western Yemen following U.S. and British Airstrikes within the last hour.
Not that he wouldn't, but he implied that it has something to do with the primary. Maybe he's planning to endorse Ramascammy,
Whatever it is.....we don't want to know.
Rand Paul
@RandPaul
I’ve stayed out of the Republican Presidential Primary so far - but I’ve seen enough.
That’s why tomorrow morning I will have something important to say.
Don’t miss it!
He deserves whatever pain comes his way.
That would be great. I think Trump can't help but incriminate himself because he's proud of his scams and he STILL thinks that he can't be prosecuted for anything.
He must have told her he didn't want one- maybe he thought it would be easier to intimidate just one judge,
Things are perfectly fine for Trumpty also
@joncoopertweets
Judge Engoron’s decision to allow Trump to speak in court was smart, since it took away one of his grounds for appeal. After Trump unleashed a barrage of attacks in a 6-minute diatribe, Engoron cut him off and recessed for lunch.
Trump was FURIOUS — which made me a happy camper!
Yes, she's pretty awful in her own right.
She qualifies quite easily as a liar- even if not about Trump.
I wonder if there are any GOP who don't cheat, lie, scam and/or assault people?
But on the opposite side we have Pete Carroll and Mark Cuban who are both smarter and more articulate than than Belichick/Saban
And clearly, they are going to get dumber a they grow
'No, This Is Not a Parody': Florida School District Bans Dictionaries Under DeSantis Law
Webster's Dictionary & Thesaurus and The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank are among the books that the Escambia County School District has yanked from library shelves.
This is good..........
@acnewsitics
Republicans forgot Hunter is a lawyer. He was smart enough to file a motion to testify publicly. The DOJ now has no grounds to prosecute. Guidelines show there has to be intent.
That ought to be good for at least a dozen all caps rants from Trumpty.
And he did. He was the only one who actively campaigned against Trump and made any sense.
