In my study Bible I came across this----got the ole brain in gear---hope it speaks to you also
Prayer doe not always change our situation, but it should always change us.......In prayer we bring our anxieties to an all-wise, and loving, and all-sovereign God, and we ask Him why these things have happened and how we can cope. His answer never changes: This world and its answers will never be enough-----Only He is enough.
God Bless and enjoy this Tuesday which the Lord has given you---Tis a good day to count a few of your blessings instead of troubles---self-pity is not a good thing when we have so much to be thankful for....Maybe you think I am full of it, well that's ok, I don't mind, but take a second and look close by and you will find those who are way worse than you. Each of us is truly Blest
how true---how true---how true-----thanks
how true---how true---how true-----thanks
This morning I had difficulty on what my morning reading would be, after spending a couple of weeks studying 1 & 2 Peter I was sort of at a loss as to where to go next, then I was led to Acts, OH ME ! should allow for a couple of weeks of serious study, just wish I was smart enough to absorb what I was reading & studying. All that being said to let you know a little of how my mind runs -- I started and immediately had to read the very opening a couple of times and got to thinking.....
The Holy Spirit Promised
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Now here is where my mind got to thinking---Thinking that most of these guys were just regular ordinary fellows, most not well educated and very little understanding of what Jesus was saying..... The Holy Spirit, dare I say---taking over their life and the leader, Jesus, leaving, I just could not get past the idea of how at a loss these guys must be and they really did not know what to think----great misunderstanding....Like the future holds what we do not know. They had to be at a total loss to understand what Jesus was telling them.---"You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes has come upon you."-----I wonder where their mind ran off to---suppose that was you or me? OH WELL, back to my reading----God Bless and have yourself a Blest Monday
Very strong passage of Scripture from Paul----as one reads this, I suggest thinking on the seed that is planted then what it grows into----a tiny seed tossed in the dirt, covered up and grows into something magnificent.....
1 Corinthians 15:35-58 New King James Version (NKJV)
A Glorious Body
35 But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” 36 Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. 37 And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
Our Final Victory
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
I've been working on 1st & 2nd Peter for 2 weeks now, but this morning I flipped opened my Bible and came to this Hi-Lited passage and thought MAN !! could make a really good sermon......takes a bit of thinking, then once the ole brain kicks in........
2 Thessalonians 3:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
started something, then decided against doing so, will try to get it together and post later.....senior moment
to da moon and forgot to come back
In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness.
2 Bow down Your ear to me,
Deliver me speedily;
Be my rock of refuge,
A fortress of defense to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
From Luke 23:43
Normally this time of the year my focus is on Easter, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, the price He paid for me, now again this year I focus there but for what ever reason I can't not shake the thoughts of the parts of the crucification of the 2 criminals who were crucified with Jesus. We know the story of how it goes, one spoke very harsh of Jesus the other spoke the opposite----now the part of this which has been on my mind now for well over a week concerns the criminal who on the cross said to Jesus---- "Lord, remember me when You come into your kingdom." Then Jesus answered him with---"Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." This criminal in his way came to Jesus asking for forgiveness, as my study Bible points out,, this man had no time to join a church, to be baptized or do good works, ----he just reached out to Jesus as a drowning person reaches out for a life line and Jesus saved this criminal. I would never suggest a person wait until the 11th hour of their life to take hold of Jesus, but no matter your past, no matter the time---Jesus is always right there, waiting for you.....A little something there to think on today---God Bless
In my times of trials, whether it be stress or sickness, the thing I try to remember is that rather than ask for healing I ask God for strength and courage to endure. This morning I just flipped open my Bible to Psalm 138 and verse 3, in Dr. David Jeremiah notes he writes the following and and I think it carries a great message for all of us.
THE ONE IN CHARGE-----"God did not remove all of David's troubles, even though he cried out for God to do so. We are not to treat God as a genie in a lamp who grants all our whims and wishes. Sometimes God takes us out of our trouble, but more often He stands with us and walks with us through it. God always answers when His children cry out to Him-----every good father does. He may not answer us the way we want to be answered, or when when we want to be answered, but He always answers. God will often give strength, or confidence, in our souls to help us face our trouble. Boldness and strength come not because we get everything we want at the exact moment we ask for it, but because God is in charge."----Something here to think on----God Bless
WOW !! You really are up tight, calm down before this gets you down.....Raj/Joe& co are what Raj/Joe&co. are, nothing more --- nothing less. Maybe if someone could explain just 1 thing they ever did that they said they were going to do-----well maybe then Raj/Joe&Co. would appear to be more than a mirage. I give them credit though, they keep testing the waters to see if us past investors are still alive or passed on.......
For my optimistic side, it is always good to hear a word or 2 from the old crew, it was a fun ride, a little costly but a fun ride and although I have never met these fine folks from years past I treasure the good and poor years we traveled together..........."""May I ask, were you invested in Raj/Joe&Co. back during the oil, housing, gas, home manufacturing, uranium, wind turbine, etc, etc, years????""""School Of Hard Knocks
Within all that is going on around the world now days---think on this:
Psalm 105:1-5a:
Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
2 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
3 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
4 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
5 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
something in the water, I think...but on the other hand, you speaking of Unicorns and rainbows, well Noah did build an ark in the middle of the desert where those folks did not even know what rain was. HUMMM, one just never knows........can you folks tell how bored it gets being locked down....
You good folks keep safe and enjoy your week
Just a thought here.....but everything on the market comes with a price.....some companies charge a little, some companies charge a lot, some people like low price stuff to fit their budget, some people like spending more for whatever their thinking......Think I am wrong---just look at the price of blue jeans, what? from 12 $$ to 100$$, the most comfortable jeans for me is from Walmart, rustler brand, less that 15$$ and I can afford to pay more. Check anything in the stores, prices range from cheap to out of this world. EX. I selll pencils for $1 each, you sell the same pencil for .05, now tell me who has to work the hardest, I may not sell but 2 pencils but you have to sell 40. Just a passing thought.....I just hope these guys make some good Jing
WOW!!! This, I think was posted just for me/about me....lol....The other day my wife told me that she could not believe my attitude with all this Corona virus stuff going around, I am just totally relaxed as if it meant nothing to me.....I told her that I thought of when I was in the hospital and my experience there----"Yea though I walk through the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for Thou are with me." Then this morning my thought on how our thoughts compared to God's are_______________.....Psalm 104, as I read this my mind went to my great lack of understanding.... Your post is 100% right on the mark, when we get to heaven we will be in such AWE that any questions we have now will disappear in a heartbeat.
I have said it many times in the past but once again, "Steve thanks so much for your loyalty to this board with your daily post"........If you think you may be getting sick, we most likely will need a 2 week notice, then you can go ahead and get sick......YEP!!! I am one sick puppy
God Bless
This morning in my readings I got to focusing on faith, creation etc, and I thought a bit on doubt. In S.S. some years back folks got to discussing the Scriptures and what many thought, now, Me, personally, I find it easier to believe what is written is so, however many will think differently, anyway someone ask me something along the line of my belief, they did not understand me-----My answer----"Do you believe God created the world and everything in it? the answer was yes, but sort of like I had a screw loose for asking such. My reply if a person believes that God spoke this world into existence, I mean just said ---let there be light and there was light, etc, etc, etc,----now if a person believes that then everything in the Bible is a piece of cake for my God......I suppose I put this out here this morning because there may be a few reading this morning that wonder about the Bible, and justly so seeing as how there are so many who influence the doubting side.....Maybe you are one who just does not get it-----Listen , I believe my God created the heavens & earth as the Bible says, and by believing this, then everything else falls right into place-----many call things in the Bible stories, yes, Jesus used parables (stories) to make a point/ learning session, But when the Bible says God did, I take it to the Bank, God did it. Another point, when I pass and stand before God and ask why I did such & such, I would rather reply that this is what I understood Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul etc, etc, meant when they wrote the Scriptures-- than to say-- well on the Bible Board, David, Greg, Ole Rick, Steve, etc, etc, said that this is what the Scripture said but what it really meant was_____.......Scripture clearly says that the Holy Spirt will teach us in all things. Now I may be way out of line here, but I encourage you to listen to your Pastor, S.S. teacher and those who write the lessons-----but do not put full trust & faith there, listen to that little voice inside of you, that would be the Holy Spirit talking to you, guiding you-----If you experience such- Jesus taught---Seek & you will find----Knock & it will be opened to you---Ask and it will be given.
Hey you don't know, but you would like to believe, but you really don't believe, may I encourage you to try this and see if it helps------In the quietness of a place away from outside attractions, just sit there and say---"God, you know my heart and the fact that I do not believe, although I would like to----if You are there help me",-----then just proceed as if you were talking to an ole buddy over a beer or coffee, you can tell God anything, everything, makes no difference, He already knows everything, He is just sort of waiting for you to step up......On this board we have many who are where you are right now, we have many who will put you on their prayer list, we have many on this board who have been there, done that and got a "T" shirt with it written on it-----but the first step is for you to take, no one can take it for you, no one can push you, but if you have a desire to step out--reach out God will take your hand and lead you
Life is so much easier when we know that all is in God's hands, we fear no evil for He is with us..
God Bless
HUMMM......think you B right.....fun joking about them
Tell me it ain’t so —- Joe
OH !!! Come On, Foxwoods, that ain't no way to be.....we all know that Raj said that at the worst we would break even, and we know he would never lie, except about the housing, windmills, natural gas, oil, Uranium, probably 1 or 2 more in there, but other than that he would never lie to us. He meant well, he just missed the objectives a hair or 2------Actually, he might be a good candidate for the political world.
Now that I checked your blood pressure, go have a good weekend
I live in Va. and this guy in my opinion is a real dip-stick....He closed schools for concern for kids, yet he supports killing babies after birth.....this guy is a real screwball. My youngest graduated from VMI, so did this governor, He is truly an embarrassment to VMI----the Alumni would like to strip him of all VMI identity......But, then over the past several years liberal thinking folks from up north have moved south and we got what we got. I have lived in Va., W.Va. & Ind. and this place has really turned into a , I am a Christian so I cannot say, I am really working on my poor vocabulary .----OH! The reason for keeping the liquor stores open----all liquor stores are owned and operated by the state, and bring in "BIG" bucks for the state, so no way would they even consider closing them......sell you booze, arrest you consuming booze-------How many ways can we understand the word "HYPOCRISY"----OH, He is a coward also in my view, when the gun right folks came to Richmond, he ran & hid.....look in the dictionary for the word WINNIE, most likely find his pic......OH< he also wants to make it a law that if anyone says anything against the gov't they can be arrested........Back in my days in the Marine Corps our D.I. had the term SH&% Bird for us recruits.....well, this Governor would not make a pimple on a SH#$ Bird's a^&%
You just had to get me all stirred up this morning---didn't you----sorry, but really seeing how far mankind has fallen from Grace really stirs the pot.
God Bless, reckon I now need prayers to get me back where I belong...LOL
I see you just joined the group the other day.....Welcome. I doubt Raj/Joe&Co. would speak to any of the investors unless the investor had a pot full of money and they stood a good chance of, well, folks get the idea. But then again Faith is said to move mountains----Have a good week-end
If any of you are are suffering through this Corona stuff-----God Bless and take care
I like that, It would be nice to sit around the table with a big ole pot of coffee and discuss this....a real positive side, then not be be throwing a wet washcloth on the subject, I believe that type of faith is right in front of everyone, available to us all, only if we reach out and take hold. "ATTITUDE"----say trials come our way, does a person wonder ---Why Me Lord? or does a person wonder--Why Not Me Lord ! It is faith that makes the difference.
God Bless
Steve, "ME" being the smart @#*(^%$# I thought maybe a bunch of wusses were raised, then I thought maybe that's no tooo nice so I cleaned it up and thought maybe what we reap what we sow-----what scares people today back years ago folks stood in line to tackle the problems. I think his name was Paige, walked 30+ miles to join the military, USMC, to defend this country in WWII, , now I look and see---Don't let your hearts be troubled etc, maybe back then a lot of folks put more trust in these words than folks of today----NOW!! I say thanks for the post which opens our minds...You're a good man Charlie Brown
Yesterday evening I took a moment and read a bit of Scripture and in the notes I found this to reflect on Hebrews 2:1:
2:1---"Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away"
Danger of drifting:----
"We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance---
We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom---
we drift toward superstition and call it faith---
We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation---
We slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism---
We slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated"---
Then from C.S. Lewis----""As a matter of fact, if we examined a hundred people who had lost their faith in Christianity. I wonder how many of them would turn out to have been reasoned out of it by honest argument? Do not most people simply drift away?"-----Little something there for you to think on today...God Bless
Hebrews 13:1-2
"Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained strangers."-----Now I am sorry for my bad attitude, but when I read this I could not help but allow the evil side of me pop out----I wondered how many angels in the grocery store got pushed aside or could not make a purchase because of "Greed, Selfishness, Coveting, etc., just a passing thought, but maybe we best be careful how we treat strangers, might just be an angel checking up on us----actually I was thinking of the toilet paper isle----
God Bless and have a very good day
Life offers us difficult times.......I have postponed this post for several weeks now, I have an older brother who a few weeks ago learned he has lung cancer, fortunately it is stage 1. Neal is 80 yrs. young, has had A very good life, since I learned of his condition I have ask God to grant him the strength and courage to endure his storm and grant me the right words to discuss with my brother his present storm he is passing through....Neal & I are closer than I was with any of my other 3 older brothers. I suppose God places in our mouth the right words at the right time, one of our 1st chats I mentioned that if it were me I would try to be thankful that it was me and not one of my children or grand-children. The next day he called and told me how much that meant to him, now he is thankful, maybe not for the cancer but for it being his storm and not others in his family. Today I went out for a long walk and he called and we chatted for my entire walk and talked a little about much stuff then his trip with cancer, It is truly difficult to talk with someone who is facing such struggles, yet, it is promising to feel the power of the Holy Spirit giving the correct words to say at the right thing at the right time, seeing as how I am famous for "opening mouth---inserting foot", you can see how much I appreciate all the help I can muster up. To pass on to someone that --YES, this life is good, but the best is yet to come and discuss this a blessing offered to few, well maybe to many, but few tackle the issue. NOW!!! Why this post, friends, somewhere along your life's journey you most likely will find your self I'm my place-----it is easy to put off until tomorrow, then this is what my dad taught me about tomorrow---"tomorrow is the today of yesterday"---- a lot of times when someone comes down with cancer or other bad life situations it is easiest for us to to say, well I get to it tomorrow and tomorrow never gets here and our friend or family member is left alone. I suppose what I am trying to pass on to y'all should you be confronted by my situation, "LEAN ON THE HOLY SPIRIT"----trust me, He will carry your through and the sick person will be richly blessed. It is so easy to say I will keep you on my prayer list, but sometimes more is needed, listen to that little voice inside of you and step out in faith-----one last point, you will be blest with stronger faith
One of my favorites--------Psalm 50:15
"Call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me."
I have over the years noticed that often folks will publicly ask for God's help in their hour of need, and that's a good thing, but, then I rarely see folks taking a moment to publicly say thank you God for seeing me through the storm.----just a morning thought
Think I will vent a bit......For you folks who do not know, I live in Virginia....for years & years Va. was a conservative state, ahh!!!! very conservative, then slowly things changed, a little here and a little there, then today-----BINGO!!!, we have a Governor who thinks it is OK to kill a baby after birth, well today this %^$#&*&^ head canceled school for the rest of the year, with no back up plan, because he cares for the kids,,,,,,OK to kill them off right at birth----HYPOCRISY at its finest---then I realized where gov't is concerned BS is what carries the day......This dip-stick closed all non essential business, OK.....I understand, but then the state owns all liquor stores , a lot of $$$$$$ to be made there, so this &*(^D#$$# head decides that the Va. ABC (liquor) stores will stay open.....Bottom line, people vote these people into office, some of these people are my neighbors, my friends, my fellow church members, etc, which makes me wonder just how far from GRACE we have fallen
OK ---I vented, now I feel much better.....really good to dump stuff off the ole chest every now and then
I pray God will bless America again.....if you read about the Hebrew Children way back when, well we just are no different, we who live in America are so blessed, yet we tell God to buzz off, I do not know how he puts up with us-----but then I look back over the years and often wonder way God has allowed me almost 77 yrs........
I learned something the other morning around 5am when talking with God..... I have often used the term---"I am a tacky Christian" when speaking of my short comings------I learned that I am not "tacky", I am an "imperfect Christian."-------Prefection will come later, but for now I am imperfect, not tacky, I am forgiven----over and over again-----God is Good---
Came across this a bit ago and thought it was worth giving a pinch of thought, it comes from the footnotes in my study Bible of Proverbs 29:35---"The devil is the source of all anxiety, and his goal is to confuse and confound so that fear of others becomes a snare (trap). Thankfully the Savior of the soul replaces fear with faith, so that whoever trust in Him is safe. Those who fear God will not fear human beings."-----If I may add, fear of God is to be in awe, respect, etc----the fear of human beings is to be scared, frightened, etc.----"ME"--I like walking and living in faith,--rather than in fear....living in faith is a very comfortable station in life. If I may make one more point for thought.....If a person is of the Christian Faith how are they behaving in their daily walk?
Yes sir
Don't know exactly where to start, so reckon the best way is to just jump in, I have never understood the writings of the prophets, I have tried but always came up lacking understanding.....well a few days ago I entered into Isaiah with the determination to at least get a small grasp on what Isaiah was trying to convey to us here in 2020. In chapter 11: starting with verse 12 he writes of the fall of Lucifer, ---Lucifer in his heart uses the thought of---"I WILL" 5 times, moving me to the thought of pride, this is/was Lucifer's big problem----OK, his problem how does this apply to me today, I will not say us or you, I will leave that for you to think on. Now going through 3 different study Bibles then "The Interpreter's Bible" and what caught my eye on this was something that back some years ago I was very guilty of---"Pride", now I know that through out my entire life I have always been taught to take pride in what I did, and this is a good thing, so I suppose there is "good pride" and "not so good pride". The Church Fathers in their list of the 7 deadly sins put "pride" 1st----So did the Hebrews, Why? because the essence of this sin is to treat God with distain or actually defy Him.......Allow me to move from a few thousand years ago up to closer times, more modern civilization -----As humanity realized its own powers, man took such pride in the work of his own hands that multitudes felt no necessity for God. Now here comes the change----The philosophy of Humanism was born of an age of scientific achievement . Humanism proclaims the greatness of man/woman and denied the need of any power other than his own for salvation. Humanism simply dismisses God as irrelevant.----To dismiss God, to leave Him of account in the handling of life, means a steady deterioration in human relationships; arrogance, engenders hatred and fear, till the world is full of suspicion, the armaments are piled up, the fatal "incident" occurs, and the earth is on fire, so man in his pride is brought down to hell.-----HUMANISM----Much of this is what I took from my study resources, they offer much food for thought, allow me a simple example.....there was a man I know who faired very well, he was generous and shared his good tidings and was well thought of, but his short-coming was "he did it", because he felt compelled to, never did he think he was doing what God wanted him to do, he was doing his will, not God's will------Pride stepped in and God was put on the back burner. It is good to do good, but are we doing good because we want to or because we acknowledge God as the One who gives to us and calls us to share.---doing God's will not my will
Just some morning thoughts here---God Bless and WOOOOPIIEEE---Friday is here and for you folks who are still working for a living----Liberty will be sounded in jus a few hours----God Bless
from my morning Bible study this morning I ran across this....something to think on----
"Those who walk by sight rather than faith end up disappointed and defeated"-----Feeling defeated, disappointed in your life, hummm !! check out your faith level, might be a bit low, telling you to add some faith to your daily walk---jus a passing thought
I came across this in my Bible time this morning and wanted to share, it is from the introduction to the book of Isaiah:
"We cannot really accomplish things for God until we have had an encounter with God.---- While is is worthwhile to consider all the different hands-on opportunities that Christians have to serve Christ and His church, our service must begin with honest, open-hearted prayer and personal One-on one time with God in His word. The more we invest in our relationship with God, the more we will understand how much we need His guiding, empowering Spirit to accomplish anything that pleases Him."
Something there for us to think on...God Bless and have a really good day
the Bible speaks of very similar things to come...
I am a Christian, therefore I believe....no matter what God is in charge, this does not mean I can be reckless and ignore danger, but, for me, it is comforting that no matter what may come my way or what the world may toss at me, God always has my back----maybe this is why I do not fear
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
In near death experience I learned that, from Psalm 23: "Yea though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for Thou are with me."
Fear is a terrible thing, from my study Bible; "Fear usually enters in when a person focuses on his/her situation and abilities rather than on God's sovereignty and attributes. I started with I am a Christian & I believe, I ask my Christians friends to openly share this thought, word & deed with me. With all that is going on in the world today there is no better time for Christians to let their light so shine that others may see Christ in us and maybe others will be drawn to the faith because of our actions....I plant a seed of courage, another waters that seed and God makes it grow. All things are planted and watered in "FAITH"......Jus say'n here, as my dad would say--"food for thought"---maybe if we turned the media off and turned God on in our hearts and thoughts, then fear would disappear. God Bless
This morning I came across this and it made me think of how crazy people are acting in our world today, this Corona stuff has people acting way out of natural character, the nice people from church in stores are fighting over toilet paper, come on folks, get real !!! Any way just food for thought --- if you are claiming to be a Christian we are called to walk the walk, not just talk the talk-----so this morning I read into this......
"Wherever we find ourselves in life---no matter how demanding our circumstances or problematic the people we meet---God has a plan that will equip us for the work and yield godly results. If we walk where and how we should, others will take note and follow."-------:
That caught my eye because I suppose this is an area I really need to work on, I have a bit of a short fuse and a habit of opening mouth and insert foot........HUMMM !! I wonder if that is an inherited quality, Feel for my kids....God bless and practice on letting your light so shine, and sometimes that is almost impossible----but, Psalm 50:15 can come in real handy in times of trouble.---"Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."
A little thought for your day today-----many folks are unhappy, insecure, etc, etc, etc, seems like it is more appropriate to whine, complain and feel sort of sorry for one's own self and I reckon we all have days like this but it certainly is not a good way to live day by day. In the Old Testament in Psalm 1 the word "BLESSED" is used and in this instance it is interpreted "HAPPY"----
Psalm 1: 1-3:
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Then verses 4-6 are quite the opposite ---not a happy camper here:
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
God Bless and have a great Friday, week-end liberty is just a few hours away

Ever give much thought to the word "LUST"---well this morning for whatever reason in my Scripture reading I got drawn in to this word and for a good while really got digging in to the meanings & understandings, both Old Testament and New Testament. Amazing how much time can be spent digging into a subject and how many different places in the Bible you will wander into. I found the easiest way for me to understand this from a Christian point of view was in Mark 4:, when Jesus gave the parable of the sower, then He had to explain to His followers what it meant......AHHH!! you think what in the world has this to do with lust....HUMMM !! check out verse 18 & 19-- Jesus is talking about a sower tossing out seeds to grow and how some grow and some don't ....."Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word and it becomes unfruitful".====Cares of the world--deceitfulness of riches--desires for other things,,,,,Now for me that simplifies LUST
Sort of like Bob in the movie "What About Bob"-----I want, I want, I want, I need, I need, I need, Give me, Give me, Give me.....
