Kiwi, since your wife rightfully believes her patients will benefit from V, then all she can do is recommend it and provide the reasons why.......that tweet comment is silly that the truth lies somewhere in between. Jellis and Respect were 1.8 gram doses of V and Reduce-it was 4 grams. The evidence is clear. The benefit lines noticeably separate at 2 years...... and there are testimonials on this board stating that other benefits are noticed even earlier. Regardless, the patient is responsible for their own health so if a physician says V is proven to reduce your risk of major cardiovascular events, so be it if the patient doesn't care.
I'm killing it on my new 500 shares...... up $10. Only down about $150K now so there's hope
In the spirit of the Oracle of Omaha's advice..."be greedy while others are scared".... I bought another 500. We're overdue to catch a break!........ but of course in the spirit of a true AMRN investment, it's already in the red
What I see is they have over 1 Billion with a B shares outstanding. I know nothing else about them but not for me.
ILT...... good growth story and really good product. One of the founders is a local kid that (very smart) went to MIT. I've had an eye on this company and waited for them to go public. They made a big splash but what a tough time and industry to be in during a pandemic. Yet they've grown through it. It makes sense though that you subscribe to the modules that you need. I noticed that my company cafeteria used them and then I noticed the other day that a golf course restaurant the my daughter works at uses them as well. Pretty cool. So I'm playing it.
Hi Capt...... I'm a fan of TOST. Have a look! They are a SAS - Software as a Service company in the restaurant space. When you go out to a restaurant, have a look at who's software is on the register screen or when you place your order. Excellent growth! Gives me something positive while I wait for AMRN to make me $$$$.
Tasty, I have the same digestive tract and I find coating it with Bourbon keeps it from disintegrating.
You could be on to something Raf....... take all the expired Omega 3's and use it to clean up all the styrofoam waste. Anyone have a patent application I can borrow?
The movie "V for Vendetta" is part of the BP playbook.
Failed miserably? If it were that easy, it would be done already...... as much as anyone, I want BP to buy this at > $30 tomorrow but that's not happening so we eat this elephant one bite at a time.
Thank you Birdbrain......appreciate your reporting.
It's still good news....... all news like this is good news. Cardiologists and other Doctors have friends and they'll tell 2 friends who will tell 2 friends..... I'll take it!
It's all about marketing.... you are a very educated consumer with regards to the benefits of a statin and V. You know more than most of the doctors in this country. A combo pill if done right would be marketed as Compound V. Patented medicine to reduce CVD risk by 60%.... physicians would write a script for Compound V. Are you going to educate the physicians that it is made up of 2 different medications and have them write a script for the two stand alone meds?
I don't recall FFS saying it was in 2022 so I'm still a fan.
FFS.... the tension is building....... somebody buy a share will ya!
AMRN volume today is almost non existent. Is it ready to launch FFS?
North....what's worse is that Lovaza has no proven clinical benefit and it gets as many prescriptions as V..... shame on that fact this is still being prescribed and that it is covered by insurance companies.
I think Nissen has finally given up on his Mineral Oil campaign but I do expect him to come with an article stating that EPA is a threat to democracy.
Well done FFS
Why do you keep saying 4 years? I see separation beginning in 2 years in the graph. That's with less than half the recommended dose of 4 gms per day.
Much appreciated couldbebetter...... I will definitely work on getting the BP down with your suggestions.
Thank ditmus...... I will reach out again and see if this new PA is more receptive to the idea.
Thanks for the suggestions Kiwi...... I've never smoked so no problem there. My Trigs are good. One reason they wouldn't prescribe is I was the one who told them it existed so they had to research it. I do have a family history of heart related issues on my fathers side of the family including strokes and heart attacks so I was looking at V as a preventive measure. My diet is relatively healthy but can always improve.... I do get a decent amount of exercise but not as much as I used to. I'm 62 and looking to be active long into retirement like our friend and contributor North.....
Much appreciated JRoon
Thanks for the inputs Zman
Comments from you V patients and smart Doctors on this board welcomed.
Recently had my annual physical and my cholesterol is creeping up a bit....(2018 - LDL = 105), (2020 - LDL=120), (2022 - LDL = 121 total cholesterol 209. My BP is usually borderline around 139/85 ish. I'm not on any meds. I do try to take 2 gms of Ultra EPA daily. I've yet to be successful in getting a V prescription. My doctor has mentioned a low dose statin to lower the cholesterol or have a heart scan to have a look at things for any coronary calcium build up. Only $99 for a scan so well worth it. I had the scan and of course have zero knowledge relative to what it would show. So the Coronary Calcium score came back as 0 which is good I'm told and implies that I am at low risk for at least 5 years.
FINDINGS: Agatston score of 0. Left main 0, LAD 0, RCA 0, and LCx 0.There is no significant calcification of the aortic valve appreciated. The aortic root appears normal in size. The ascending aorta appears normal in size.
So again, I'd welcome feedback from you folks that have dealt with heart lingo and issues of your own. Thanks in advance!
Bhatt is a fan of Icosaphent Ethyl..... it's not up to him to defend AMRN. Unless they pay him to write papers or as a consultant to defend AMRN, he's a medical professional promoting the benefits of purified EPA. AMRN management should be spending more money on Bhatt than themselves.
New form 3's and 4's out....... c'mon Denner
I'm just playing Lizzy...... I took no offense whatsoever.
Lizzy... although I'm slightly hurt by being bumped down to 2nd most articulate contributor to this board, I'll accept my standing as long as we can get this stock price over $20/sh
North... that makes one of us.... I'd rather listen to Nissen talk about why MO in his coffee tastes bad than anything our idiot in chief has to say.
Giving credit where credit is due....... you were correct FFS.
Amarin should have a patient testimonial section right on the front of their web site showcasing stories like yours.
Good news..... I'm up $140 on my new shares...... Not so good news.... I'm out $600 on the shares of the stock that I sold to get my new AMRN shares. Story of my investing life!
If 80 to 90% of your employees are high priced US sales people, it's called good business management. Why try to increase general US sales when 40% of the new sales would go to the generics? Right size the business as it is and redirect assets to growth areas until something changes. Makes sense!
“In the third quarter of 2022, Amarin made important progress on meeting its key priorities and long-term growth strategy highlighted by improvement in the Company’s cash position, reporting a cash positive quarter excluding restructuring charges.
Check.
Based on all this, I bought another 3500 shares..... I'm a sicko for more punishment. But if a few things finally break our way..... I'll be a happy sicko.
October 22, 2020? Is that a typo?
You meant "does not occur" because that would be a horrible thing.
Reverse split or issuing more shares are unlikely at this point. If they need money, they can raise it. Most likely with some form of convertible note with interest.
