Player, WAverider.....I´ve read of the 7 bucks many times over here, so I took that number. I was long wondering about 7.5, why not 5 or 10bucks?
Consider we are speaking of the ETSPro Version...
We know from SKS that they discount up to 40% on large volumes. This would mean about 30 bucks if ETSPro is sold via Dell to a large customer. Now I guess each company gets 50% or 15bucks.
So in this case it´s a bundling deal, therefore endless volume and Dell is a cusotmer for Wave. Perhaps the negotiated a further 50%.
I´m awaiting a decline in fees, when volume kicks in, so I would say 7.5 for the first million, 5 for the next 5M down to 1buck for the next.
Just a guess, but the 7.5 made me wondering....

TKC......STX/WAVE/DELL
Every drive shipped by Dell means about 7bucks for Wave. For All other FDE drives Wave is paid IF the customer want our software. ASI and Tarox get the drives with ESC/ETDM, Lenovo NOT. Furthermore Dell pays 7bucks for ETSPro (with FDEs) and therefore will not pay the .40Cents for ETS for these shipments. So for your example
264k x 7.5 is about 2M
136K is unknown, cause if they all would go to Lenovo, its zero for us.
Other bundling I would say 1.5M
So with these figures we should land at 3.5M. Add 50K upgrade seats and we BE....

ZZTop.......the time when WAVXs SP was driven by PRs has passed, I would say years ago. When I see Dell offering FDEs on their order pages it´s good enough for me. WAVX has entered the stage of "show me the money" and have to avoid "a fluff PR".
BTW I respect people HAVING AN OPINION, no matter if positiv or negative concerning WAVX. Furthermore I respect people doing DD in BOTH directions, since we all live (are invested) cause of this DD. Coming here asking a ton of questions, avoiding the GOOGLE and going over to the AB posting a series of "questionable" posts at best, is not the manner I prefer. But thats just me....

MaynardG......I can reply for the Dell solutions tour this spring. Depending on the products which are introduced and the dates when these products are introduced to the market NDA can last up to 1 or more years....(Dell solutions tour in May2007 NDA expires july 2008)

TS....and all IMVHO.....the difference between investors/traders and believers, is that we Wavoids(believers) MEAN to know the tech and what influence this tech will have on the next IT infrastructure. So folks educated in investing will make their (more) bucks, than DDers, but on this we all hope to have a homerun..

Doma.....I hope at least for 5-10K upgrades in Q2, should add about 500K, so I hope for 2M...
BR
ISPRO
Chowder....thanx, but I don´t think we´ll see these numbers in Q2 since nothing has changed except a few more volume from DELL, GTW and perhaps Intel. As long as we sign no other OEMs (like we did with STX) or have no upgrade sales, I guess our revenues will be limited to about 2M/Q from the exsisting partners. I hope I´m wrong....
BR
ISPRO
Unixguy...sorry, I guess I should have expressed it a little more detailled. Of course RSA/EMC and a bunch of other companies use hardware for security or DRM, like smartcards, tokens and dongles...
These are all things exsisting for years. The new security paradigm I meant is a STANDARD and BUILT-IN device, I´m sure you know what I mean..
Sorry for the confusion.

Ramsey...AIMVHO, I think the 520 is a mistake, since the support of NON TPm, LEGACY systems is no the target. I know that a TPM is not the issue, but Dell equipped the D531 (nachfolger?) with a TPM, and so I guess they´ll ignore the OLD 520. The D631 is similar to the D630 except the processor which is manufactured by AMD...
BR

Ramsey...sorry, don´t have a link. Spoken to a rep in Vienna month ago...

Oh well, Wavoids discover it first..../eom
BR
ISPRO
Ramsey....I´m sure, legacy systems will not be supported. And the D631 has all whats needed for FDEs....
BR
ISPRO
Ramsey.....sorry, but wrong. The 520 is an old model WITHOUT TPM and WILL NOT have an FDE as option. The difference between the D630 and D631 is ONLY the processor(Intel/AMD). So I´m sure we´ll see the D631 with FDEs and OF COURSE with ETSL or ETSPRO!
BR

CM...thanx, well some folks haven´t realized where we are now, compared to two years ago. In one point I have to disagree....
Since we KNOW that MANY here are disappointed, we should consider (regardless, if they have an agenda or not) to keep the FREE and very INFORMATIVE (especially thanx to our main posters here - not to name anybody) discussion going forward.
For me KeV you´re welcome to ask further questions....
BR
ISPRO
AA...I´m with you on this, but nobody here knows, what this presentation is for. Looks like an introduction of WAVE/FDE for newbies, since all of us investors know about our partnerships. What we have to RECOGNIZE/REALIZE is the difference between NOW and THEN....
THATS THE ONLY THING THAT REALLY COUNTS!
IFX is in MORE boxes than Wave, but they have no further products to expand their TPM related revenues and IMO!!! they give their software AWAY to have an advantage in the silicon sector.
And now, once again AIMHO (Not adressed only to you...)
Keep posting, BTW!
BR

Snack..thanx, as Go-Kite said, it´s just a presentation. Progress is here, we all would like to have an SP in the double digits right now, but it isn´t. Make your choice and wait and see or don´t look back.....
BR
ISPRO
Vader....my post was not adressed to you or ANYBODY else. I just tried to focus on the difference between now and a few years ago and our future.
Sorry I don´t know the time...
BR
ISPRO
Past-presence-future (only my 4 years) We´ve all forgotten, while ranting about the presentation of the FDE drives....
I got first invested in april 2003, a time when a minor PR came out, the stock rocked and the boards exploded. It was also a time when we had GREAT PRs about bundling with ONE or TWO Intel mobos, bringing the SP to about 15 (split adjusted).
In 2005 we heard about the first million TPMs shipped by STM, when we got excited and drove the SP to 3.6 with nearby NOTHING under the bottom line.
2 years later we´re bundled with ALL Dell enterprise machines, our ProVersion is bundled with FDEs, Intel has expanded to about 12 mobos, Gateway has joined us, all major (except IFX) TPM manufacturers bundle ESC (or ETSL) and
WE ARE REALLY SITTING HERE COMPLAINING ABOUT A PRESENTATION OF THE FDE/AND WAVES ETDM???????
If I knew this,I wouldn´t have posted the link! It´s ridiculous....sorry folks, but I know that our results at the moment are ridiculous too, but at the moment Wave is the ONLY company earning a few bucks with the NEW security paradigm, HARDWARE!
WE are in the MIDDLE, think about it and think over your next hits on the keyboard, PLEASE (NOT that I feel authorized to say so), but think about the progress we made. Not so long ago we got excited when we found the expression TPM int the web, and now?
Some thoughts to reflect....
