Now, my questions remain unanswered.
>Did HealthNet cause infringement by approving Generic V for patients with TGs of 150 mg/dl? Evidence seems to point in that direction.
>Did HealthNet in collusion with Hikma cause a loss of revenue to Amarin when it approved the use of Generic V for patients with TGs of 150 mg/dl? Even though Hikma was excused from the complaint? There's the $64 question.
>What is the monetary extent of damages caused by HealthNet? A definite bargaining chip in any settlement agreement.
>What are the insurance company (industry) ramifications?
We're all waiting breathlessly for the news. I apologize for being late to the party and the ensuing discussions. I do understand the need for generics to provide clarification of what "equivalent" means, they're not obligated to do so until someone makes them.
Folks, study the verbiage very closely. A judge could misconstrue the definition of "equivalent to Vascepa." Vascepa is approved for patients with Tgs of 150 mg/dl right? The Generics don't specify a range, they only say it's equivalent to Vascepa. For the 500 mg/dl and above generics are equivalent, a trick of the tongue. The Generics are also very wary of the verbiage used, it would be very hard in court to prove they were prescribing Vascepa for CVD conditions. They just say their product "reduces the risk of..." which for dyslipidemia patients it has been made equivalent by the court. A travesty in itself, but nonetheless a done deal and not necessarily a false assumption.
Hello North, I have a legal question. Is HealthNet libel for damages caused by Hikma’s infringement on Amarin’s patents? I know this has been discussed, I just don’t remember what was decided. TIA,
Nuke
Is Poster X trying to get me to laugh? BTW, you're still on ignore.
Rose; I was referring to the HealthNet "rumor" in case anyone didn't believe Raf's Twitter Post.
To a casual observer without reading Raf's posting it would be a rumor. Of course it's been substantiated that it isn't. Of course the "Fat Lady" hasn't sung yet.....without seeing something published we're all waiting with baited breath. Hopefully, we'll see something on December 16th or thereabouts. :D)

It's been my experience that when a rumor is heard it usually ends up being true. This particular rumor is not that far fetched to think it's a true rumor. A ridiculous rumor would be something absurd like poster X is actually acting civil towards other posters. Something like that.
A rumor with some truth to it is like; Did you hear that Elon Musk is buying Twitter? A ridiculous rumor; Bill Clinton is Gay.
Thanks North, you beat me to it. Raf's post 394576
AMRN up 6%, do you suppose the settlement with HealthNet has leaked?
Thanks Raf; Wow, 2 hrs 48 minutes with no potty break? These folks are dedicated and of course highly paid. For the readers Digest version has anyone time marked the important points?
What clip?
Picked up a few shares today at 1.12. Bargain basement price.
Kinda reminds me of "Spaceballs" with Rick Moranis. I'm surrounded by AH's, one in particular.

Think about this "Wokesters" as it applies to our current economic woes.
By working from home and not putting our hands on products we make or monitor, we become so detached from the work-a-day world our older generation and generations before had to do, that we lose sight of who we are.
You're work from home jobs can be done by overseas companies very easily if that's what you want. I personally, think it's a sign of future degradation of our willingness to get our hands dirty and learn by doing rather than pushing buttons on a keyboard. Sure, a lot of our daily tasks are done with a computer, but that's not the same thing.
As for where we're heading, I want no part of that. Get off yer duffs and get to work.
RMB, you'll always have those folks wanting the Generic version, but you'll have those who want the Brand version because they don't trust the generic. Now, if and when Amarin develops a statin combo and provided it gets accepted. Then we'd have something there.
I'd love to be able to take my meds once per day vs twice daily.
We all know that generics being allowed to usurp patents is really unfortunate, but how do we stop it? If our courts continue to look the other way? American innovation has been our forte' however, I see that being eroded by our own laziness. the "work from home mentality" is killing our nation. My apologies as I'm now getting off on a tangent.
Slowly, albeit one person at a time, the word gets out. Keep up the good work Raf.
Thanks lizzy;
How about a couple of fists Left and Right.

Aye, aye El Capitan',
Is it geowizz@gmail.com?
Kiwi, tell your wife to prescribe “drink lots and lots” of water to her patients instead of drugs. Good old fashioned water to flush out the kidneys.
My last blood test annual Gfr (kidney function) went from 48 to 64. The only thing I did different is consumed lots more water. In my layman’s opinion, I don’t think people in general consume enough water, especially in winter.
Just my two cents.
Thanks for the update Captain. Great letter. So, conservatively speaking your group represents 2.2 million shares. You can add my 224k shares to that.
It’s been pretty painful watching a great drug get beat up so badly by the naysayers. It’s time for a change.
Wow, this article is total BS. How do they get away with writing BS like this?
Could the FDA be overwhelmed like the IRS? The IRS hired 87,000 employees just so they can track Americans and make sure they keep the government coffers full.
FDA on the other hand can’t seem to regulate anything? I don’t know, maybe there needs to be a self-regulating (Privately operated) Agency created by the pharmaceutical industry to oversee all drugs coming to market.
Of course this could lead to more corruption, but there’s got to be honest scientific people out there who can cut through all the BS?
Thanks Duke for setting me straight, I didn't understand that icosapent ethyl was the generic version.
I sent this link to my Nurse Practitioner to see what she can provide? Unfortunately, she's retiring in about 2 weeks. I'll have to educate my new Nurse Practitioner.
It's like the Walnut "shell" game, which shell has my "V" script in it?
total BS; BCBS 2023, icosapent ethyl is Tier 4 (Non-preferred drug).

Ralphey, do you see any differences between the Brand and Generic Pravastatin?
Thanks Bob Wayne.
Thanks Ralphey.
wow, thanks Captain. So not all statins are the same/ I thought there was very little difference between them. I guess that's why Livalo is still under patent protection?
Thanks Captain;
I may just have to continue with Livalo. Pharmacist said it was over $1000 out of pocket without insurance? The Japanese must put something proprietary in their statin? Maybe Wasabi? Smoked Eel? Wagyu Beef perhaps?
Hi Folks, I'm trying to save money on my Statin Script. I just paid $220 for a 90 day script of Livalo Brand (pitavastatin) 1 mg tablets. I've had good results (no side effects) for over a year now. My cholesterol levels improved also. I've since found out that Livalo (pitavastatin) is water soluble hydrophilic. It might be guesswork on my part but it's either the small dosage (1 mg) or that it's water soluble that is key (no side effects)? I asked my pharmacist which statins are hydrophilic. He told me Crestor, was.
I had issues with generic Lipitor (atorvastatin) which is hydrophobic resistant to water.
Does anyone have any ideas on what substitutes for (pitavastatin) or a statin that doesn't give one side effects? I'm looking for the lowest dose possible.
Perhaps maybe even simvastatin (Zocor) or pravastatin (Pravachol)?
TIA,
Nuke
We'll see after hours, AEMD reports @ 4:15 EST. I was intrigued with the science of removing exosomes from the blood. I wonder if FRAM would be interested? :D)
Just kidding mick, GLTY
Lizzy; 90 days, I'm on Medicare Part D, plus Blue Cross Blue Shield Supplemental. Vascepa costs have gone up. Apparently the $9 coupon no longer is valid? Am I unaware? Probably
I own Aethlon, bought near the high. :D(
My recent script for Vascepa cost me $56 at CVS. Walgreens couldn’t get Vascepa for some reason?
My 90 day Livalo Script will cost $220. Calc's out to $2.44 per day.
Oh, my brother is too. Thank you for your service. :D)
Still my Draft Lottery number was 285. I was a Vietnam era High schooler. I regret having never served. But, that's behind me now.
How's that? I just paid $56 for 90 days supply of Vascepa and I'm on Medicare Part D and BCBS Supplemental.
I haven't picked up my Livalo today from the pharmacy.
