"ItSmells Inside"
I really did LOL
You are correct, inteL is out of X84-64 processors as well.
Nonetheless AMD is selling every 64 bit processor assigned to desk top computers that it has chosen to make. There is no way that this is not good news, except to inteL.
Hey Guys, try to find a 64 bit desk top here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat18700050010&type=category&parentCatID=false...
It is not just the eMachines models. They seem to be all sold out. If I am incorrect, do straighten me out. Customer service at eMachines is giving incoherent answers to my questions.
Sokay with me
(edit) end of the quarter
That is but one difference between you and me. You look to the end of the quarter; I look to the end of the decade.
AMD may have a total market cap exceeding a half of a trillion dollars by then. I do not predict that; but, I see it as entirely possible.
But its downside bias should vanish; and, you might not participate in a relatively enjoyable move.
That was exactly the message that I got and published promptly over on SI.
All that he said is that as AMD has been saying for some time now, all is well and things are moving along in a very timely manner.
(edit) I believe that what Mike Hasse said after he read the statement was "...and we are now delivering product." No big surprise. They should be, even if it is only small volumes to partners for early production related work.
BTW, I do not think that the Ediot (tm dougSF30) should be getting any of these directly from AMD.
The one update was the statement that they are now delivering 90 nm product.
That statement was read to me over the phone by Mike Haase yesterday. It is a prior release that was confirmed yesterday as current to refute the current errogenous (to inteL) rumors.
What is new is the implicit statement that the information is very current.
There are no notebook 939s to my knowledge.
As will dual core Athlon 64s plug directly into 939 boards when they are available
Bite you tongue...you will jinx it.
I am willing to bet that even this harmless post gets censored.
Some really splendid reading: Go to http://www.pricewatch.com/ and click on CPU. Except for the very few pentiuM eeK eeK and itaniuM toO entries, all of the higher priced offerings are dominated by AMD products and there does seem to be real depth (pages) to many of them.
I have trouble imagining how this will not have a very real salutary impact on AMD's ASPs with a resultant explosive effect on AMD's earnings. If the onset is not substantially felt this quarter, it will be next quarter.
Hang on guys, happy days will soon be here.
A lot of conversational crap gets posted which could be taken care of with PM's . I suspect that the value of many threads to participants as well as the financial value of them to you could be improved were you to make PM's a non premium privilege.
SI is nice. Come on over. I would have sent you this as a PM; but, alas, I do not have those privileges.
Not exactly. It removes real interest costs.
Absurd...NO ! It makes centrinO look all the better...and, after all, AMD does not exist.
How many ways can he sandbag this one ?
The timing may coincide with the introduction of 90nm K8s or somewhat thereafter.
Anyone know what CPUs these use: http://global.acer.com/about/news.asp?id=6474 ?

Probably when it is time to sell
I suspect the, unless things change very, very substantially, AMD will be a one decision stock for a very long time. No matter how much it goes up in the near term it will remain an extraordinarily good long term value. Its market cap could, in due course, exceed that of inteL now. If you do the arithmetic, the implications of this are astonishing. In my mind the only importance of the price that you pay for the stock here is in determining how many shares you are able to buy for a given amount of investment. No matter what you pay, you will have extremely substantial gains in time.
ANALysts...idiots...complete idiots.
OT AMD common looks a little better this AM .
Where Dan Niles LIVEs ?
I can quit any time that I want to.
The day is young, howsomever. Addiction...what addiction ?
I think that I will go out for a ride this AM. If I do not, I may do something stupid like buy even more AMD stock.
Dan, it never was actually said. It was all "looks", omissions, and laughter. How can you fault someone for how he "looks", omits, and laughs ?
Do not start with me. I am easily much more humble than you are.
So AMD $45 on January 18th 2005? Seems relatively conservative, I would say.
It is more than that, though it is that. AMD will succeed with a package wrapped around a 64 bit, under 20 watt offering. This, I hope, is to come early at 90 nm.
AMD does not yet have a real high end centrinO answer. It should within 3 to 5 months.
I know what you mean. I am going to buy two of them. I would have bought only one if it was $2000 or more.
I believe that the 90nm reference is erroneous. (or is it errogenous ?)
