Well we saw how this stock had jumped up there briefly and there was even some trading going on for a little while. The 400,000 shares that were purchased was a huge chunk of change who definitely has a lot more to lose or gain off of this stock so I am hoping this is someone who knows what they are doing. Probably far better than myself.
What I am hoping for is that they at least get to a point of getting what they have fully operational and we start to get some more news.
Thanks ChandlerBorn.
Hello oilpuddle. I understand your point and I might think the same way if I were in your position. However, I am not in your position. I am an investor who has lost already enough money that the rest I am willing to let ride. I will not sell what I have on the basis of what anyone on here tells me. And I do think for this company to have as many investors as it had on the defendent list gives me a better clue as to what kind of $$$ is behind this company.
The company keeps going and I think it was predicted like a year ago it could not last because there was not enough money and because of their expenses. Here we are now a year later, the law suite is settled, and we have gotten a few responses from the company. For me and others who are invested, we might as well you at what we can as possitive. Especially being no negative will make us give up.
Now if Gas goes up and it cost you more money and you notice that this and other alternatives start to go up... it could be a good way to offset your cost. I am not saying buy here. Buy what ever you want.
I am sure they are getting a lot more money from their direct investors. If you go back to the list of defendents for the suit it shows a rather long list of investors. These folks have more at stake than we do. But at anytime if they feel this operation cost too much and is not getting anywhere they can pull out. At which time we will not have time to sell anything and they will claim bankruptcy. But it is also good news because they need to sell themselves to the investors in order to get the money and these types of investors would not do it unless it was a fairly sound good investment. So I am hoping this ends up as the case and we be in good shape later down the road.
Most of us who are sticking around have lost so much that we will not give up now anyways. Right now my stock is at massive loss. There is not much left to lose. Penny stocks are really risky and while the numbers may help on some buys it is still all speculation. As a matter of fact even some of the fortune 500 compaines I have stock in have lost so much lately that I can not trust even the stronger companies.
If I lose the rest of this stock I am okay with that. But if it were to take off I am going to be really happy I held on to it.
Unless we were to have another stock market crash, most of the big experts will tell you to not buy emotionally and do not follow what most people are doing. Try to guess what most people are going to do and take action first. My guess is this, gas is going to skyrocket this year for all time highs. And when this happens, investors begin looking for alternatives. This will drive the this stock price up.
Where this company is not new it has been to do everything it can to succeed which in my mind says a lot compared to many other startup companies who fail very quickly. I believe that they care more about the big investors as compared to us and with so much going on we are not always getting the scoop. I am following the big investors who are also waiting paciently. Why? Becuase they are the ones who know more than we do.
I do not need to sell just to take a small portion of my money back to invest somewhere else. I already have a supply of money coming in for other investments and will hold this one. I think gas will reach $5 a gallon this year. It is only a loss if I sell. And I think this would only put a gain in someone else's hands.
Sounds like a good plan but for me anything sounds like a good plan because I do not know enough about all these processes. I have watched the drilling process but the calculations used after the fact which determine how much is there and how profitable it is, is beyond me.
Maybe during that year of mostly silence a good portion of these calculations were done. The fact that there was a lawsuit that Bedford Energy settled tells me someone wanted a piece of the pie, and Bedford Energy decided it was worth settling, meaning there may be something there. Something worth fighting for.
It could take another year or two to get this company fully off the ground and it has already had some huge hurdles but yet it keeps going. If they can just get a couple good wells going that can begin to pay down the debt caused by the blow out and eventually begin to being profitable the company will then expand more and more and more into other wells. This is what I am waiting for.
I do wish for more information whether it be good or bad because at this point I have lost enough that I can care less about bad news. Bad news is not going to make me sell my stock at this point.
This stock is a long term stock. It will take a while before it cansupport itself. But once we get there I think we will see good things.
After last year I have learned to be patient with this stock but I still wanted to ask if by chance f anyone has heard anything new. Does not have to tbe the news that drives the stock up or down, just any news we can get added in here. Thanks
Okay everyone. I just removed some of the stuff up in the iBox and replaced it with the last three statements from Bedford Energy. I did this because it is our latest information and sounds a little more promising for newcomers who may read it. Yeah, we have gotten some news!
it seems we lost a whole year but here we are back where I was hoping to see some good news last year. We are going into sprint then summer which usually means demand is higher for gas. If prices are high now and go up even higher in the next 6 months people will come running to alternatives and smaller companies like this one. which of course help drive this stock back up.
I went from just wanting to make a little money, to losing most of my money, to coming close to saying let's cut my loss and move on, to thinking maybe I will get even, and now actually thinking this might be a better long term stock. Wouldn't it be awesome to see this form into a huge company one day and see the stock rise to $10 or even $20 a share?
Something over there is pretty strong because most companies would have failed over what happened to this company in the last year. This could mean that right now is the best time to buy before it goes back up. I just may have to jump on some more myself here soon.
Definitely anxious to see what is getting ready to happen.
later
It has been an interesting week on this one. Like I said 6 months ago, already lost too much to just wait it out and see if it begins to grow later. So far people are starting to get interested in this stock. The volume is up a little. Really it is very little because the price is so low that people buy these buy the thousands. But there is some interest here. One good quarter and moving in the right direction could make this thing jump like crazy.
I wondered why there was a post about the settlement but I never could find it. Did anyone here notice that the update went to the old website? www.bedfordenergy.com not the www.befordenergyinc.com. Also I noticed that on the bottom of the old webpage it shows more changes in the top brass including the stepping down of Carl Swan. It does say he will be consulting Bedford Energy but a lot of people bought into this company thinking if anyone could do it he could, based on his past successes.
I certainly hope somethings change for the better over there. Like new info from time to time on the new website. Answer emails from time to time... something.
I believe it is. You can see the building with google maps which is identical to the one they show the picture that they were moving into. These are real people there. And people who live close by say it is really there. This is a start up company which many of these fail anyways. This company a couple good figure heads which is why a lot of people put trust into this company that if it could be done these guys can do it. By lookiing at the list of defendants on the lawsuit there would also appear many names of investors who i am sure have a lot more than me invested into this company. Also, when the bad nes began to come out the beginning of last year about the blow out, the lawsuit, etc. the stock price dropped even more and if this company was to give up they should have done it then.
But they are still around. They seem to have a lot more backing them up than what we all expected. The office is real. What we really need is some news. And we would prefer it to be on the more possitive side. But really at this point for me, any news is better than nothing.
Wow, $80,000 on 400,000 shares! This is a very good sign because I do not think anyone would have done that without doing some really good research.
I only hope that this starts to feel like a real company to where we start getting some information. Realistically there are way more failures in startup companies, but this one is still hanging in there.
This company is small so I do not believe it will be a solution to growing prices in energy cost; however I do feel people will divert part of the funds towards this stock if the big stocks continue to fall, gas and oil prices continue to go up, and alternative energy sources become more in demand. Who knows, this thing could rise back to a dollar in the next quarter and maybe to two if we have good news between now and summer.
This is the way I see it, if anyone has anything else to add feel free to do it. Let's start generating a little chatter here.
I still have my shares. But I guess we will not see any real movement until some things get rolling over there. Last I heard one well was underproducing and the operation was costing more than what was being produced. It was also said that a pump needed to be replaced and that with some fine tuning it could be profitable.
The real key is where do we go from here? What is being done at BFDE? Now that the settlement is done, will we start to get news? Is there anything else pending legally that could stop operations again?
Like I said before, I have already lost too much to not stick with it and just hope that these guys were not crooks like some of the other scams which were going on. One thing I did notice is that the company hung in there. If they give news and start doing what we investors expect I will invest more. Besides pulling money out of some of my other stocks now needs to be placed somewhere else.
What are the rest you thinking of doing?
Ringo, if you still get on here pop me private message for your email and I will make contact with you about buying some stuff. I am primarily on here for watching bfde but if it is going to be another 3 months for action there is no sense pumping money into this site until it is time. And being I am no longer paying I can not send private message.
My old email address is no longer valid.
Been a while since I have been on here. I came real close to selling and just moving the funds over to somewhere else but decided to cancel the order before it was executed. And thought what the heck just sit it out.
I was not selling though because of the loss because I was already over that. Just got tired of little to no movement.
The question is, now that we know something may come out soon in Feb. 2008... is it better to sell stock now move it over to somewhere that is growing and try to buy back the bfde prior to the news?
One can do a lot in 3 months...
Greetings from Heathrow Florida! I still have some work to go but for the most part I am done with my move. What is going on here with this company? I was really surprised to see that Jacob paine left the company. Why would he leave if everything was hunky dorey like he said way back when? It is not too reassuring when those who are telling us everything is cool but then they can not hang in there themselves.
I am not sure. All I know is that some stuff that was told to me had come true. So I believe this iis not going to be a stock to take off right away. They have had some problems which happens even to big companies. Also, anyone not know what they are doing would have alread called it quits and not still be around.
As investors we always want the good news or action. We do want a stock we can believe in. I was weiry about this stock for a long time but I am now a believer. This company could still go under but I know they will do everything to keep that from happening. But at least I know I was not being scammed.
I have not been on here because I have been in the process of packing up servers that needed to be sent to Florida since our building was closing, and packing up my office stuff to take home. The full shutdown procedures took some time. I am now working from home but only for a very short time. Sometime in the next two weeks I will be moving also to Florida so I will be down again.
Yeah. I do think this company will still come around. When it does, the stock will begin to soar. I am not even worried about it anymore. If it grows it grows, if it doesn't then I am OK with that also. But really I do think it will once they get past the hicups.
$.12 now. Will it come down to $.10 before my money comes through? Hopefully.
Everyone have a good weekend. I myself will be driving for most of the weekend to look at a potential house that I might buy down in Florida.
Hey Traxster,
For me this was interesting news because even though it is not the news everyone would like to hear it is at least honest. The question for a long time when the stock was sinking was whether or not this was a fake company just trying to take investors for a ride. But for a while now I have come to believe the evidence that this is a real company trying to make it.
All startup companies are going to have some problems. If the people there did not know what they were doing, they would have already fell under and would not know how to manage the situation properly. The fact is, they are doing what they can to bring resolution to the matter and they have not given up. I believe what they are doing is smart, especially bringing suit to the drilling company for negligence. They mean business.
What we are betting on now is how well the other lawsuit will go. If it is in favor of Bedford, and the well begin producing, the numbers could skyrocket. For one there would be one less player involved.
It is a tough situation, but these people have proven to me that they are in this to succeed, and will do what they have to do without being pushed around from some of these partners or even investors. It would be great to just go out and sink some money into another stock and see it grow a little here and there. But if we believe in Bedford as much as they believe they can succeed, their chances are higher that they will.
I had my suspitions in the beginning when I first joined this site. But I am a believer now and even plan to buy more stock in the next couple of weeks when my next set of funds come through. I firmly believe we have seen a great loss but that it will turn around. Not only would it feel good to make some money off the stock, but it will feel good to me investing in something that I believe in and they succeed.
Being how much I have already lost I say bring on the bad news and be honest which they have done. Drive the stock down a little more so that can buy low and drive down my average. Todays news sounds risky but this is what we are all here for, to take risk and hopefully make money. My investment is on the future of Bedford.
Very good write up there ChandlerBorn. I thought the show was real good because I actually got to see what happens during a dig. And while I have read about blowouts seeing one getting ready to occur on that show was really neat because that a pictorial view as to what happens, then in action you see the flames shooting out of that one stack and they know they have very little time to take action before the actual blow out occurs.
Looked like a lot of work. They dug down like 5000 feet and then had to pull every single pipe back up just to switch the drilling head in order to get through the shale. Not an easy task when every section has to be lifted to a certain height, some big machine handled by a couple guys locks onto the pipe and then untwist them apart, then some guy way up on top of the rig has to manual move the pipes out of the way. Very dangerous and a lot of work.
Yep, let's keep our fingers crossed. Nothing could make my year like this if it did go back up to a dollar! I have no real reason and only know what everyone here knows, but my instincts are telling me that this is a good one to hold. They are putting forth the effort.
Not Sure. Ringo mentioned that there was going to be an article about the new COO. Has this article made it in the paper yet Ringo? If so can you copy it in here somehow?
It is my own personal opinion and I know with the bad going on for so long it may not seem like it, but I think this thing is going to fly through the roof. Right now the chances are still much higher than a new start up company that has all new people running the show. At least here we have people who really want to make this company successful.
Thanks
I was actually holding and if the stock hit .10 I was going to buy 50,000 shares. Not sure if it is going to go that low now being the new website is out and being we finally got some PR which was only about the new COO.
I saw some show last night on oil drilling like on history channel, tlc, discovery, or one of those channels. Anyhow it was interesting and the drilling being done on the show was in OK. So I am guessing with newer abilities to drill further that there is money still able to be made even in OK where for a long time it has been considered dried up.
During the drilling they came close to a blow out. There was little stack off to the side that caught on fire which was the warning. One of the guys was not testing, monitoring, and pumping the mud which helps hold back a blow out while the drilling continues.
Just thought it was interesting to see this all in action. Did anyone else see the show I am talking about?
It will take a while for some to start believeing in this company again and that is understandable. But I think we are not getting everything and this is why it seems they will be bankrupt before long. But I can not see this guy coming over for a job if the situation is hopeless.
I am hoping things begin to turn around soon. I want the best of course being I still have my investment in this company, but I truly believe we are going to continue getting PR and things will begin to grow from here on out.
Being I believe this, I say to all of you who want to sell, now is the time. Help drive the price a little lower so that I can scoop up some more at a really low price 2 weeks from now when I sell my ESPP with my current company. If none of you want to risk it anymore, I will.
Someone just purchased/sold a boat load at .17 Most volume I have seen in a while.
I wish I would have bought Apple years ago when it was like $7 a share and about 3 or 4 splits ago. Today it is now trading at $122.67. But memories of what happened to Commodore kept me from doing it. They would not advertise and the CEO kept paying himself a lot of money. Something like $2 million a year. Not a lot today but back then it was.
I appreciate the numbers and the work being put in by Guppy and everyone else. I personally do not spend much time on here anymore. I just check in every now and then. I accept a total loss at this point and while I could cash out at the current price and save some money I choose not to because everything else out there could be just as much as a risk. If this thing turns around I want to be ready for it.
It seems now a days with such easy access over the web to buying stock people do more and more daily trades trying to make a few hundred here and there and trying to keep losses at a minimal. I know many who play this game and really do not get a head and just waste a lot of time. But the experience is still educational. And there are those few who get real lucky. Today there seems to be less and less people who just invest in something they believe in and let their money sit for the long term investment.
Yes we all want to see movement in the right direction and there was some hype involved with this stock in the beginning that made the price skyrocket. But today we see that this is a real company, with real beginning start up cost that could bankrupt them (like any other start up company), etc.
It seems that they may have tried to speed up progress by involving themselves with other companies and they may have bumped heads a little. Lesson is now learned and we now know the true financials which are not so great. Actually not good at all. But we still have to play a guessing game as to what their intentions are. If all this is known now, why not just go bankrupt now? Why are they still trying to make it? What is their drive to keep going?
Personally I do not think these guys want to work for someone else. They want a business, they want to be business owners, and they will do what is needed to continue making progress.
I ran into something similar here at my current company. Some guys started URL labs and nearly went broke. They then had to remortgage their houses to get additional income. Eventually the company was sold to Symantec and those who made it work, put their house on the line, got the biggest payouts.
I do not want to change anyone's minds here. If you want to sell, go ahead. And hopefully investing somewhere else you will start gaining what you lost here. I am keeping my investment, knowing I might lose it all, but because I am investing in the COMPANY and not a short term gain. I try not to think about it either on a daily basis.
I wish I can go out there and help by grabbing a shovel. But digging a hole with a shovel will not get anywhere close to oil and will not help anything. I just have to sit back and let the pros do the job.
First things first, win the lawsuit or find more potential wells. There has to be more additional flow of product in order to be successful.
What I find interesting is that while it is not much especially after cost, there is an income. So something must be coming out of those wells or maybe it is coming from the stock (ie HILL).
Sure would be nice to see the price begin to climb because I think we would all be satified with progress and buy even more back in if this company could be successful.
Wow Guppy you really dug into this information and came back was some good key information. As to your last question, I understand your concerns but what if the revenue did help turn the company around? The key is that this company is not a scam which is at least one good thing we now know for sure. They are trouble financially but many startup companies have problems with finances. What matters is have a good enough product that makes investors believe in the company and help them over the hurdles of financial difficulty.
For this case we already know the importance of oil and natural gas but this is not like a new interesting or exciting technology that will make investors excited. It will take some good strong leadership, and I am still holding onto hope that Swan is the man for this.
Yes, I check in every now and then. It has been quiet.
Excellent news LandAgent! Thanks for the information. Let it sleep down to $.05 and watch me buy more!
You know what Guppy? I am glad you said that. I did think about this in the past and never brought it up but I was under the impression that these were all going to be oil wells. It was later when I found out they were also doing natural gas. I did not and still do not understand that one.
But, hopefully something good or bad will just be reported. This is all I want now and I do not spend a lot of time waiting for the answer anymore. If I just happen to think about it, I get on here briefly to see if anything new has popped up.
If the news is bad and the business is shutting down, the sooner I find out the better. The symbol would go away and i would just forget about bfde. But it just keeps lingering on. It is not dead yet, so let's see what happens (could take another 6 months of no PR though).
That is good news ChandlerBorn. If you hear or see anything else keep us posted.
I am not really sure. If Jacob were to go out and get drunk enough maybe then he might accidently slip us some information. I am only more optimistic now about this stock because I am not worrying about it anymore and just going with my original plan. I truly believe there must be some other reason why we have not heard anything and in the end we are going to find out it was something positive and not negative. If you have ever been in a position of getting arrested and they give you the right to remain silent you probably know how things you say later can be used against you as my cousin just recently found out. Jacob Paine probably feels this way now and decided it is not best to even get on here anymore to give any news.
So now we have nothing. We are all upset at the price. And for me now there really isn't much more to lose, at least not for me. So I might as well just try to be optimistic whether we go deeper in the hole or get PR and start moving up.
For me, my nights out on the town are over and was always just a big waste of money in my younger years. I believe most people are brought up to being consumers to always help the economy grow and I have lost a lot of money on wants moreso than needs. I have decided to take risks now with my extra $$$ because if I lose it, I would have anyways. But if I don't, it could grow in multitudes. Either way I have less clutter.
I guess I am saying I am accepting total loss and to me it would be worth one more risk of $500 because who knows. If I put the $500 elsewhere like starting a new stock it is just as risky and I will not have as many shares as I have here. The best way to look at it is that I am pot committed and I might as well make the call on the additional bet.
The additional cost is like a couple nights out on the town.
Right now we are still in the "Grey Area" where we still have no new news which can happen with any penny stock. But I believe if the people there have good intentions and with a lot of luck this thing could boom on up!
I feel it is best to wait it out and hope in the end I was on the side of "I told you so, that you should hold" because I already accepted the total loss and feel I am currently on the side "I told you so, you should have sold".
Quiet is quiet, and we are in the UNKNOWN. But I feel as high is this stock was that if they wanted to make some money and run, they would be running by now. Instead, they are still sticking around. There must be some other reason for the quietness. Calm before the storm maybe?
I know one thing, I do not want to buy more of this stock at the price I have in the past and even at it's current low price of $.20. But if it somehow it reaches like $.05 I might as well buy some more to bring my average down being the cost will be so low. Honestly, I do not think it will go down that far.
With the skies grey, I have to bet on a storm coming.
GO BFDE!
I agree. But if it gets close to one dollar and we start getting PR frequently again like we did last year, I can see just keeping this stock and hoping the forward progress from here gets them on nyse, nasdaq, etc. and ultimately to the level and size of Chesapeake Energy.
