Very good write up there ChandlerBorn. I thought the show was real good because I actually got to see what happens during a dig. And while I have read about blowouts seeing one getting ready to occur on that show was really neat because that a pictorial view as to what happens, then in action you see the flames shooting out of that one stack and they know they have very little time to take action before the actual blow out occurs.

Looked like a lot of work. They dug down like 5000 feet and then had to pull every single pipe back up just to switch the drilling head in order to get through the shale. Not an easy task when every section has to be lifted to a certain height, some big machine handled by a couple guys locks onto the pipe and then untwist them apart, then some guy way up on top of the rig has to manual move the pipes out of the way. Very dangerous and a lot of work.
