sorry new page
To instruct PGS has a news page
Dane It was likely drilled around July 2005 or september it was already reported as a discovery, for people looking for infomation on OBo you may try www.jsiservices.co.uk and ask for their first quarter market watch. Potentially uge is around 500mmbo like Bonga north,
Interesting bit on 800 ft with straddle ha ha, though part of the rumour mill, I may begin to change my perception of you
http://www.nigerdock.com/main.htm
http://www.jagal.com/jvent-pers.htm
The last pipeline fire happened near snake island according to some reports
Jagal had a partnership with SINOPEC called Sinopec international exploration and production company of nigeria(SIPEC) it may be the company that partnered with ERHC on block two. Anwar Jamarkani is the Chairman also head of Jagal and Nigerdock
Gran Rigzone can be slow or confusing, i think one should be cautious of believing anything they post.
My pump guess is bigger than OBO 1 if it is a different structure
Spec According to Andrew Hayman it is located near the boundary of opl 246, not bad considering the rumour of a straddle whoch enlarges the area. I think Andrew Hayman may be right, he has good source once in two years and he correctly posted about Bonga north before the news came out. I think it is not a big deal where it is drilled, we are anxious but patience may be the better response, the area is fertile(likely) but few plantations. I like the response of a southwest Obo, more likely far from the Obo 1, it was my earlier guess that the well was a wildcat(duh) maybe close to block 4, if Afren insiders can share info with Addax about the geological source rocks etc then it will be smoother for ADDAX,
lol, lol sources, lol. They may be right though, but Chevron has a block in Equatorial guinea, Exxon is the major player there and may be drilling there. But who knows, sadly I have stopped believing the sources here, I think Sfreed is alright though sometimes. But someone had the rig after March 15 and before May 5
Nice point, it seems they are sticking to the law not to politics. Frankly, I am sensing a tidal change from AMerican firms to India(with their OMEL) deal and China. Speculatively, if Xom/Chevorn do not have good contacts in the long run, the 2007 election may change the tide, personally I think Nigeria is getting the best deals from china and India. Another possibility is that Chevron may relinquish half of block one after applying for a mining license, I see the chinese already poaching around looking for that possibility or even the Indians. And we would see some money change hands in Sao tome. The majors are loosing their hands in the region.
However, meridian initially said so so feet?
EUR maybe estimated ultimate recovery
It depends on the local media's interest in learning anything about the JDZ. Right now the interest is limited. The chinese deals are public and private. It seems they are going for a Bitumen projects and some mining properties which are on the auction block, who knows they may spend on a lot. If the local interest is high they can scoop some news. However, both sides have slipped including Meridian(badly) so you really can't say what is or not. People forget that Kashagan at one time was supposed to be a 50B barrel(probable) supposedly now who knows, 15 total? Why it matters is because if there is oil deals will come through definitely, you can't by pass it.
The rig is in Nigeria or JDZ that much is certain you are no different from the people you criticize
Badog, Initially I thought Meridian was an Erhc partner in crime but later noticed she had taken shots at some firms. But in terms of shareholder abuse, my judgement is private. I know this is a board but I do suport this company so I can't say anything further but I will say one has hold Offor accountable after the PSC for any unilateral decisions in terms of partnerships and offers.
On a differetn note
"Kashagan structure developed as an isolated carbonate platform and is approximately 75 km in length and 35 km in width. Due to its areal extent and complexity of the reservoir, further appraisal was required to determine the true size of the Kashagan resource. Challenges of the appraisal program include operating in shallow, ecologically-sensitive waters subjected to harsh winter and ice conditions." The aeriel extent of kashagan is mentioned
Maybe representing some American firms in the GoG?
lol, though he or she did state a move to aim would be preferred but I noticed that he took swipes at the Nigerians on BOD, the Indians when in support of erhc, conoil, shell, total, Ali memon and Erhc
BB also There is a chance they drilled close to akpo. I just figured something out, I think they missed a lot of the field, but I am not geologist. However, they may have tried the play/prospect close to Akpo, no surprise then that Akpo was mentioned in some reports about Obo. We will see however, the Obo discovery affect the chances of success or like structures in the block and the the sorrounding areas. The positive side is ofcourse a potential discovery extending far south and potential more discoveries in the region. Obo may be a virgin play, not really the alpha or omega of the potential of the region
BB They drilled three Egina wells, two North the other south, the Egina pole area is a large area and they could be testing the extent(south), the egina prospects are more than 6 and could be larger than Akpo if proven to be productive, though it seems being conservative in reserves is the hallmark so no one knows the real results. They drilled Preowei one and two at the north central edge close to the bolia-chota field. Egina is close to Opl 257 which reportedly Chevron and Exxon are after. I think a major issue is whether they are close structurally(plays) with Obo and some other prospects in the JDZ. I think in Nigeria they try to find a play and if productive the chances are upgraded
Meridian why not focus on information instead of saying your opinion, any new information, I heard the region is prospective(not news but still just more confirmation) so do you fill there is a chance of a bigger Obo?
CArrizo lol, I think Meridian tries to be correct, I am sticking to the 3000 feet until the press release. Oilphant, hmmmm I don't know.
His method needs to change, whether he is shielding himself from being wrong by being incoherent or just not aware than codes sometimes are used for people who have a clue what it means. Which sadly can infer he is having a fun time on his own. But I think he should continue who knows. I still think there is a slight chance the rig will be in the jdz around may but with Petrobras now
There is a chance the rig could be with Petrobras, A slight chance. And also I think transocean tries to put their best info online, it can be confusing though. Exxon and Petrobras I think have contracts for the lease also.
It seems the major discoveries are dotted black. It seems they drilled prospect a if the report is to go buy.
Search "Microsoft PowerPoint - IHS_Andrew hayman-Sub Saharan" online
From some info a while ago I think they drilled A.
To Meridian I asked you a question before and you refused to answer. You diatribe against adenuga is complicated. For one he may actually be the most productive oil man in Nigeria something you failed to recognize. You failed to see that many independent producers do so with the financing of foreign capital. Two is obviously one of the richest in the country. Erhc may have a private beef with him but to me that is unproductive maybe they should move on to better things or find a way to smoothen things out.
Likely true. BG's latest Nigerian partner in the mini round and in opl 332 is sahara which is the other local holder of block 5.
Thanks Nh on a different note, I used to follow a stock three years ago I forget the name tt the end of almost everyday there used to be some large sell orders. I don't know why it happens. around 12.30pm pacific time the stock usually takes a dive sometimes finishes in the green sometimes not. And it happens continously
Thanks Ibready, not bad though oil info is scarce, as they say knowledge is power
Maestro who? dan?
Maestro I think there could be some use to some of these writings especially sending a message to EXX. The lack of press release is more Exxon like than Chevron though I believe opl 257 may be a factor and appraisal drilling may another.
One thing about this place is that the more you know the more puzzled your face becomes. There could be an explanation CVX/Exx drilled far away from the structure realised that and are now interested in drilling some appraisal wells. Maybe that is where the more than 50% comes from, I think there is some credibility that chevron may have missed most of it but I am aware that they usually drill where they could find the most potential oil reservoirs.
Some of what we may understand is the shallow reservoirs was unexpected or bigger than thought?
The oil field may be a giant if it straddles block 2, (barry morgan rumour) 7 or 8 billion barrel the CVX message board call (may be right of 8 bb )
Meridian what do you know about Oml 130 it seems they drilled close to it? I do not expect official response on straddling maybe from seismic interpration. Also do you have any idea whether the "official" extent of the structure is close/stops at the boundary of block 2.3 or 4. It seems they drilled close to oml 130
3000 ft is a whole lot of oil. Companies drill 14,000 ft sometimes. However, Meridian(he or she) did say field looks like one or two from kazakhstan. In nigeria Agbami is like 540+ feet=1b
Akpo close 400ft= ibb maybe 7bb
I heard some sort of message like yours something like potential elephant fields if I am right.
Actually I am aware rig info from Nigeria is tight. So I just use partial guesswork. My feeling is Chevron will have it by beginning of may after appraisal by Exxon but not sure where they will drill next they may have other contractual obligations like drilling block 247 which is above JDZ block 2.
cash2blow I am not sure it could be with chevron drilling a well on block 247? or with Exxon drilling an appraisal well. I think Exxonmay use it to drill an appraisal well somewhere.
cash2blow I am not sure it could be with chevron drilling a well on block 247? or with xxon drilling an appraisal well. I think chevron may use it to drill an appraisal well somewhere.
Real? Meridian real or you you kidding. That is unreal.
not pulling any thing just a sense of joyous/restrained jubilation
