ELECTION DAZE BORDERS SIGNING!
Hey, Political Junkies,
Forget about the candidates! It looks like Election Daze will be the big winner!
Just recently, hundreds of True Believers marched into New York's famous Borders book store on Park Avenue and bought every copy of Election Daze that wasn't tied down!
I got writer's cramp autographing them, but you don't hear me complaining. Some True Believers bought a dozen or more copies to use as gifts—but I made them promise not to put 'em away in safe deposit boxes just 'cause I signed 'em! They must be read and enjoyed— or incur my wrath!
Best of all, I got a chance to meet fans from all over. There were some from South America, Europe and a lot from Canada. Okay, maybe they hadn't taken the trip just to buy my book, but you never can tell, right?
If you check out the photos at the Election Daze MySpace page, you'll see me signing a great statue of Iron Man plus other cool stuff. I'd have even more photos for you if I weren't so camera shy. (And if you believe that, I'll sell you the Empire State Building for half price!)
When everything was sold, my peerless publisher, Tom Filsinger, asked the managers if they were satisfied with the turnout. They bragged that it was the largest crowd they'd seen since Jimmy Carter's book signing! Sheesh! I was edged out by an ex-President. Guess I'm not as popular as I thought!
Seriously, gang, I want to thank everyone who attended. And for those of you who just can't get enough, I've two more Election Daze signings scheduled in Los Angeles, with still more to come. First, on May 4th I'll be signing at the Comicbook Convention at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium and then, on May 10th, at Barnes and Noble at 189 The Grove Drive.
Face it! With you on our side, we can't lose this election! No, I don't mean the Presidency. That's small potatoes! I mean the important job of having Election Daze elected to best-seller lists all over this great land of ours!
And, in case you didn't get the message, Election Daze— at only $9.95 for 96 zingy pages of uproarious gags, is a real ginchy gift for your family, your friends—hey, even your enemies. They'll get such a kick out of it that they'll become your friends! And don't forget the cheap but cheerful free campaign pin that accompanies every order at the Election Daze page. You're right-- there's just no end to my generosity!
So, prove that you're a true patriot and join your Uncle Stan in my never-ending crusade to make Election Daze the blockbuster best-seller of the year! (It's the only way you won't have to keep reading these sales pitches ad infinitum!)
Or, as they say on the campaign trail---
Excelsior!

Thanks,
I sent it out to the 3 people that purchased stock in POW from my recommendations and when the link went bad it looked like something was up.
Thanks for the good link. I don't have any responses as of yet.
Sure would be nice to get a few more real everyday people on the site...

"We're sorry, this video is no longer available"
Thats Great!
Excelsior!
that was a strong buy all 10,000 of them..
The day will happen when we see numbers like this.
This is it. The start of May, the start of summer and the release of one of the most anticipated non-sequel movies of the year (after Cloverfield of course) as Marvel Studios rolls out their first production, Iron Man! With Jon Favreau (Elf) at the helm and Robert Downey Jr. under the helmet, this looks to be a quality superhero movie that can appeal to regular movie enthusiasts as much as comic book geeks, although it will certainly be the biggest movie in the careers of Downey and co-stars Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeff Bridges, who plays the film's villain. Instead of being about starpower or box office clout, the movie will sell based on the concept and the cool factor and the quality of the actors will help deliver a well-reviewed movie that will probably have a lot of repeat business. This weekend is all about the fans, though, and while most of them might try to catch it on Thursday night when screenings start at 8pm, one would expect that the movie will be very busy Friday and Saturday, as this has become a true event movie. $60 million is guaranteed and $70 million is almost a given, but we're going a bit higher thinking that the lack of strong movies in the last few months is going to help this one explode.
Still doing well? I'm still holding... my xxxx...

Legend Stan Lee to launch superhero franchise
Comic book legend Stan Lee, one of the forces behind Spider-Man and X-Men, is helping to develop a new superhero property, Legion Of 5. His production shingle POW! Entertainment has teamed up with Utah investment firm Brighton Partners and Vancouver-based producer Rainmaker Entertainment to turn the concept into a series of computer-animated films. Details of the characters and story line are being kept under wraps. Rainmaker CEO Warren Franklin reported that the partners are raising about $24 million to get things going. “We are hoping to develop a strong franchise with the characters,” he said. Plans call for Rainmaker to create the look of the characters as well as develop and produce the feature-length computer-animated film properties. A cross-platform approach will include games, online and mobile releases. Merchandising is part of the plan as well.
Separately, Lee has set up three projects at Disney, which houses POW!: Nick Ratchet, following the exploits of a private eye; Blaze, an action adventure; and Tigress (working title), the story of a woman who starts getting tiger-like instincts.

Virgin Comics and Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment Announce New Comic Superhero Universe
Last update: 4/21/2008 6:35:00 AM
Prolific "Father of the Superhero" and Founder of the Marvel Universe Returns to Comics to Create a New Universe of Superheroes with Virgin Comics!
NEW YORK, April 21, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Stan Lee, co-creator of Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Iron Man and the Marvel Comics Universe of superhero characters, announced today he will be forming a new partnership with Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Comics.
Lee is one of the most influential figures in popular culture and the character entertainment industry, having created characters that generate billions of dollars in sales from comics, films, animation, merchandise and games. In his new partnership with Virgin, Stan Lee will return to comic books as both a writer and editor, to oversee the creation of an entirely new universe of superhero characters.
"What a dream assignment!" enthused the always-ebullient Lee. "I can't wait to start pitting my newest, most exciting superheroes against comicdom's most powerful, diabolical super villains and then have the fun of tossing them into far-out, thrill-a-minute adventures to challenge the readers' imagination! And who better to share in the fun, creating wondrous new worlds without limit, than the incredibly talented and dedicated guys at Virgin Comics!"
"Stan Lee is a cultural icon and we welcome him to his new home, Virgin Comics, for this bold new chapter in his great legacy," said Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group president and founder.
The new universe will initially be anchored around the exploits of a team of ten superheroes of various backgrounds and origins. As this team evolves, readers will learn that not all of these heroes are what they seem, as infighting, abuses of power and internal struggles will slowly challenge these heroes as they learn the real villains may lurk within themselves.
"As a creator, storyteller and visionary, Stan Lee has created characters that have inspired the imaginations of generations of audiences around the world and spoke to the core of humanity, transcending race, religion and culture" said Virgin Comics' CEO, Sharad Devarajan. "It is our greatest joy to bring him back to the industry he helped define, and though Stan's creations have already changed the face of entertainment, we are confident that the best is yet to come."
"Stan Lee is unquestionably one of history's greatest story-tellers. To collaborate with him, and have him guide and nurture artists and writers through Virgin Comics will be one of the legacies of this company. As the head of all things creative at the company, I bow down in reverence!" added Virgin Comics' Chief Creative Officer, Gotham Chopra.
As a former Editor-in-Chief at Marvel Comics, Lee trained some of the industry's most influential creative talents under a system called the "Marvel Method." Though not commonly used in the industry today, Lee's process enables the writer and artist to sculpt the story together from the ground up in iterative stages, rather than writers just delivering a full script to an artist in more of a segmented fashion. As editor of this new superhero universe at Virgin, Lee intends to once again work with artists in a similar fashion, allowing a new generation of artists from the comic book and video game industries an opportunity to learn and collaborate with Lee.
Gill Champion POW!'s President and COO said "The arrangement with Virgin strengthens our position as a leader in creating new high concept superheroes for today's fans. Comic Books and other means of new media distribution are a great way to introduce our properties. In Virgin, we have found a partner who understands the importance of Stan's global brand."
The new universe will be unveiled in early 2009 and will initially be launched as a series of ten graphic novels linked into a series of online animated shorts. The story is intended to provide a seamless online and offline experience allowing audiences numerous entry points and engagement synergies as they immerse themselves into this universe of heroes.
Virgin Comics LLC is a character entertainment company creating original stories and epic myths for worldwide audiences. It's only April, so the year is still young, but we just may hand a winner for the worst movie of 2008. This laughably inept psychological thriller stars Pacino as Dr. Jack Gramm, a forensic psychiatrist in Seattle famous for helping to put away murderous psychopaths. .........................It ends after wasting 105 minutes of a viewer;s time.
People Magazine 4-28-08 issue..
this is no joke.
