Who compiled that list hap? Trump and a team of ghost writers?
Back in a while. Have to see how my poloponies are doing.
Dow Transports down again. This index often leads in signalling an economic slowdown, often a precursor to recession.
Arizona: A pathological liar and a psychopath. Great combination.
Greoge Mason, didn't he draw a line?
Trump: "But my primary consultant is myself and I have a good instinct for this stuff." Reminds of "A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client."
Is Virginia single?
FUTURES: Indices flat to moderately lower. Oil sharply higher after Saudi Incident."
Sorry I'm tardy. Had to see a man about a horse; actually to see a string of poloponies.
I called Trump out and he hasn't responded. Probably playing golf.
No kidding Peg? Is that the state motto? If not it should be. Exquisite.
Everything is measurable hap. First you get a tape measure. Then you get a yardstick And for really small stuff you get a magnifying glass or a microscope. Then you get a pair of calipers. Sorry hap, it's been a long day: watching the Patriots squeak by the Dolphins 43-0 and the Red Sox derail Philly 6-3.
Yeah arizona, Trump is a master moron.
Not sure why but I always liked Virginia. I don't care much for New Hampshire, and I lived there, [Hampton Beach] but I sure like Vermont. I like Iowa and Nebraska, spent some time there. Had a bad time in Knoxville, Tenn. Guess my hair was too long and I drove a purple van, back in the day. I got some real bad vibes in Knoxville at a restaurant. Tossed some money down and split before they could beat me up. Oh well, la-di-da, la-di-da as Annie Hall would say.
Peg: I just heard that Virginia needs to win 2 more seats in the House of Delegates and 2 seats in the Senate for the Democrats to control the state. Any info on this?
The Shah was a vicious dictator? Why are you so kind? He was a murderous mutha.
The man should keep his mouth shut and his fingers taped together, with duct tape.
I've played a lot of baseball for a lot of years. We all knew that the only way to tell if a batter swung at a pitch was if he broke his wrists. Now it's a strike if the bat crosses the plate for whatever reason. I saw Dustin Pedroia hit the deck after getting a bit of fast "chin music" and when he went down his bat went down and crossed the plate without Dustin holding it and the ump hollered," STRIKE!" Crazy. More later, because this rule has to go.
AN INVITATION TO DONALD TRUMP
Dear Mr. Trump: I'd really like to speak with you, here in this room. I've followed your career and accomplishments and I think you are a fascinating man and I'd really like to speak with you.
I'm a technological moron so I don't have a cell phone and I don't know how to tweet. But I can type.
I think we're about the same age and while I agree with some of what you do I also disagree with some. I see it as just two fellas chewing the fat, some give and take, an interesting, enlightening time.
You can choose the topics. We can do this any day, or night. Your choice.
I'm not sure if you've ever been in this room or if you will receive this invitation. Perhaps someone will tweet this to you. I would if I could. But I don't know how.
Warmly,
lee kramer
Reading "The Hunt for Red October." Very much like the movie. I see Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan, James Earl Jones as James Greer, Sean Connery as Marko Ramius, Scott Glenn as a sub captain. Damn good read. Usually when you read a novel you paint a mental picture of the characters. When you can see the actors that were in the movie it's kinda neat.
Funny stuff Susie, levity is good. I changed the rowboat story a bit, sent it to the NY Times for publication, waiting for a reply.
Here again:
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are out on a deep lake in Trump's old 12-foot rowboat, fishing.
Suddenly he boat springs a leak at Trump's feet. Water starts gushing in and the rowboat starts to sink.
Trump turns and hollers, "Vlady, Vlady, punch a hole in the boat at your end."
"Why?" asks Putin.
"So the water will flow out the hole and we'll be saved!"
I strongly agree Susie. I'm fairly certain that Trump will not willingly step down if he loses in 2020. My Suzy and I have talked about this for months. If he attempts a coup will the Army support him with force? Guns and weapons? The Secret Service? Will Americans be forced to choose? To kill other Americans? I think Trump is capable of anything; he'll follow Hitler's violent coup. Is this crazy talk? I don't think so. Trump is so unbalanced he is capable of the unimaginable.
Outstanding post Peg. And a fine reason why the 25th amendment should be invoked: Trump is unfit to be president.
The NY times motto is: "All the news that's fit to print." At the paper I edited our motto was: "All the news that fits, we print."
The NY Times got back to me. Said they'd let me know within a week if they're gonna run it. I'll not hold my breath. I'll go to the others. The first one who says "yes," gets it. I thought it was damn funny. And I know the newspaper game. If they all pass on it, it stays in our room, in the corner and well guarded by three guys carrying Glocks.
I sent the Trump-Putin rowboat story to the N.Y. Times. Let's see if they print it. If not there's the Wash. Post, the Wall St. Journal and of course the San Francisco Chronicle. The Chronicle would print it.
I remember domain, an I cringe at the memory. An effin nightmare was he as Sox manager.
"Corgi being trained to attack any PM with a cabbage head." Does that include the oafish buffoon Trump?
Right SoxFan. I'm showing 18 1/2 points and @ Miami. I got some bad numbers.
If you're right, that a hell of a "middle." I'd take it too. I'd wager a Bob, a Clyde and a Harry.
Lemme check SoxFan.
I might place a bob or two on the Dolphins if I could get 10 1/2 or 11. Late money may come in on the Pats and the 10 1/2 or 11 is "possible."
That may be RRock. But looking at it from the other side, can Trump be trusted? I wouldn't trust that oaf with my dog, my daughter, my brisket or my bagel.
N.E Patriots are favored by 10 over the Miami Dolphins in Foxboro tomorrow at 1:00. Dolphins almost always play tough against the Pats.
Ken Burns' work is very good. Thanks for the heads up Peg.
Damn you hap. A clever, funny post.
I will defend to my death, anyone who needs defending. Including hap.
Funny SoxFan, funny.
Over the years I've moderated a few rooms. On 9/11 I moderated a room for Pristine, a trading firm. I was paid well. There were maybe 150 traders. They could type questions about the market or stocks and I would answer. I was the only one who had voice. I was there the morning of 9/11 when the plane slammed into one of the towers then later went down, imploded. Perhaps I'll describe what we experienced, later. Then I found Zeev and at the urging of his family I helped continue his work and legacy. After a number of years I felt that Zeev and I were 'square' with each other and I moved on. And here I am. I really like this room and the people here. It's eclectic; anyone can talk about whatever they want. To me, it's interesting and fun. A good room needs but 2 people. We have more than 2. Carry on.
Snowflake? You calling hap a snowflake? Nasty SoxFan, nasty.
