Shortanalytics.com showing massive accumulation or short covering over the last 7 trading days. Either way is a positive for me. Looking for substantial news within the next two weeks. Just a gut feeling.
Nasdaq sent The Street.com (TST) notice of delisting two days ago for failure to maintain $1 per share minimum. AF bashing NWBO, TST may end up on the OTC as well. Oh the irony.
Why am I not surprised! Thanks TC
TC, once nwbo starts trading on the OTC will you still be able to see who the active participants are in trading the shares just as you do now? Interested to see if anything changes regarding KCG and UBS etc. Thanks
Yes. Opdivo and DCVAX L for GBM.
Pure manipulation today. No question about it! 4.6 million shares on the buy side and 2.8 million shares on the sell side and the stock closes down 12.5 cents. KCG is gonna hang themselves one day!
Actually, I think the buying started around Sept 13th with the massive, as of yet to be explained volume. I believe the actual trading float has been reduced significantly and on a positive p3 we could see a real scramble for shares. I do not believe the die hard shorts are covering due to some folks on the board getting requests to loan their shares at 39% interest rate. The dam has a few more cracks and trickles of water and the shorts have been lured into the valley. IMO
Cannon, hopefully Xena will not mind me answering you since I use Scottrade also. As long as the account you hold your NWBO shares in is a CASH account and not a MARGIN account your shares cannot be loaned out.
Those are two billion dollar questions right? In my view, NITE is one big garbage heap with just enough methane gas to blow itself up. Your thoughts?
Thanks TC. I think the hits on Woodford the past few days are no coincidence. They need his shares to cover imo and they cannot afford for him to come in buying on the open market. That's why I asked you yesterday who the players were. Forget who he was purchasing through before (Deutche Bank maybe)? What's your take on what is going on with the higher volumes and the upward price movement?
I keep thinking of an Ancient Roman Army battle tactic. The Romans would send out a small force to be seen by the enemy. The small Roman force would lure the enemy into a narrow valley where a much larger Army of Roman soldiers would lay in wait and slaughter them. Has Linda lured our enemy into the valley? I hope so!
What kinda numbers you seeing crossing with KCG the past few days? I would still love to know what drove the huge volume around middle of Sept. Sometimes I think I have entered the twilight zone watching this story unfold.
A dam break starts with a trickle of water. :)
TC, will nwbo have a new cusip nbr when they move over to the otcqb? If so, all shares will have to be inventoried right? Could shed some light where there is darkness.
TC, do we have our normal players of KCG and UBS playing in nwbo's sandbox today or are there some other players? TIA
Gut bacteria can dramatically amplify cancer immunotherapy
Manipulating microbes maximizes tumor immunity in mice

By introducing a particular strain of bacteria into the digestive tracts of mice with melanoma, researchers at the University of Chicago were able to boost the ability of the animal's immune systems to attack tumor cells. The gains were comparable to treatment with anti-cancer drugs known as checkpoint inhibitors, such as anti-PD-L1 antibodies.
The combination of oral doses of the bacteria and injections with anti-PD-L1 antibody nearly abolished tumor outgrowth, the researchers report online Thursday in the journal Science.
"Our results clearly demonstrate a significant, although unexpected, role for specific gut bacteria in enhancing the immune system's response to melanoma and possibly many other tumor types," said study director Thomas Gajewski, MD, PhD, professor of medicine and pathology at the University of Chicago.
"The field has recently recognized close connections between the gut microbiome and the immune system," he said. "This finding provides a novel way to exploit that connection, to improve immunotherapy by selectively modulating intestinal bacteria."
Checkpoint inhibitors such as ipilimumab, nivolumab and pembrolizumab have had a dramatic impact on treatment of several tumor types, including melanoma, lung cancer, head and neck cancers and others. But only a minority of patients—one-third or less—have a vigorous response. Cancer researchers have wondered why so few benefit.
Gajewski and colleagues found a similar pattern in the mice they use for cancer research. They noticed that mice purchased from Jackson Laboratory (JAX) tended to have a robust spontaneous immune response to small melanoma tumors implanted under their skin. Mice from Taconic Biosciences (TAC) showed only a weak immune response.
But when the researchers put the mice from both sources in cages together for three weeks, they found that co-housing "completely abolished the differences in tumor growth," Gajewski said. This made them suspect that by sharing exposure to various types of bacteria, the TAC mice had acquired microbes from JAX mice that somehow enhanced their immunity to tumors.
They confirmed their suspicion by collecting fecal matter from JAX mice and transferring it into the stomachs of TAC mice. It worked. Treated TAC mice were then able to mount a strong immune response and delay tumor growth. The reverse process, transferring fecal bacteria from TAC to JAX mice had no effect.
Next, they compared the effects of bacterial transfer against a checkpoint inhibitor, anti-PD-L1 antibodies. They found that introducing the bacteria was just as effective as treating them with anti-PD-L1 antibodies, resulting in significantly slower tumor growth. Combining the benefits associated with the bacteria with anti-PD-L1 treatment dramatically improved tumor control.
So they began searching for the specific bacteria that made the difference. They identified microbes from the digestive tracts of JAX and TAC mice by large-scale sequencing. Although there were significant differences in 254 taxonomic families of bacteria from the two sets of mice, three groups were prominent.
When they tested the effects of each group on the mice's immune systems, one group, the Bifidobacterium, stood out. Within two weeks of oral administration, TAC mice that received just Bifidobacterium species had a marked increase in the anti-tumor T cell responses.
Mice treated just with Bifidobacterium, rather than the full fecal transfer, displayed tumor control comparable to those who received the full mixture. The effect was long-lasting. TAC mice exposed to tumors as late as six weeks after the Bifidobacterium transfer were still able to mount a robust immune response.
Additional tests showed that the Bifidobacterium did not leave the intestine. They appeared to trigger the immune response by interacting with roaming dendritic cells. These scavenger cells detect and process potential threats and present them to the T cells. The researchers suspect that Bifidobacterium colonize a compartment in the intestines. This enables them to interact with the cells that interact with dendritic cells, which activate tumor-killing T cells.
There may be other bacteria that also contribute to this process, the researchers note, either positively or negatively. They are investigating bacteria that could influence other immune therapies, such at the CTLA-4 pathway, exploited by ipilimumab.
A second study—from the Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris, published in the same issue of Science—found that antibiotics could disrupt the antitumor effects of ipilimumab. Replenishing lost microbes in germ-free and antibiotic-treated mice restored the drug's anti-cancer effects.
The UChicago study was funded by a Team Science Award from the Melanoma Research Alliance and the National Institutes of Health. Completely agree RK. I posted a link in post nbr 44443 a long time ago making the correlation to healthy gut bacteria and cancer. I have also read articles on research into lactobacillus gg (Culturelle) and the role it plays in dendritic cell activation. It may really come down to "you are what you eat" or is it you are what you properly digest? Anyways, thank for the links. We all know folks who are on and off again antibiotics, and just anecdotally speaking, they seem to have chronic health issues.
Thanks for the link Xena. Been following this story line. So in essence we have fraud on a massive scale with KCG and UBS intertwined in some way. Anyone have thoughts on how this blows up? If the market continues on an upward trajectory won't these liabilities continue to snowball and become a real threat to them as a going concern? If you look at assets versus liabilities for KCG this company is really worth zero.
He is naive and reckless. I'm a parent, and I would never antagonize people to the point where I would put my safety or the safety of my loved ones at risk. There are just too many whackos out there. It's all fun and games to him. Until it's not. Totally irresponsible on his part. I believe people can change for the better. I really hope one day he will realize how wrong he is and become a better man.
Programmers are having a huge discussion about the unethical and illegal things they’ve been asked to do..........Google this story....pretty much confirms the illegal manipulation of stock prices using illegally programmed software code.
Lets say it is just the current facility. If they were able to obtain a 24 million $ mortgage on it is big progress. They would have had to provide a very detailed business plan including future revenue stream modeling, etc to the loan provider. Lots of scrutiny in a loan this size. I'll put this in the "plus" column.
It is an interesting development if in fact it is "additional" space. There is a ton of office space and warehouses in the area where Cognate is located as it is in close proximity to the MEM airport. Obtaining additional sq footage in this area would not be difficult IMO. The question is WHY. I think there is only one rational answer.
I will be in Memphis area next week. Will try to go by shelby drive to see what I can see.
China, do you know where the additional 78,000 sq ft space is located? Memphis?
13.8 million shares short in last report from nasdaq. I believe that is the highest they have ever been. Maybe they were anticipating the recent financing that was put on hold. But what they didn't anticipate was Linda getting a 2.5 million loan with no strings attached except for the interest. If this loan is enough to get them over the finish line, the shorts are quite vulnerable here. My B.S. alert indicator went straight to 10 when I saw AF's silly tweets this a.m. Shorts may have just gotten it wrong this time, but we shall see.
We will just have to agree to disagree. Financially it makes little difference to me. But for the patient's sake I desperately want them to succeed.
No inferences should be made china. I have no idea what PFE is doing. I do think Pharma M&A activity will be on the rise in the near future though. I personally want NWBO to go it alone if all possible. What I am suggesting is that if we are close, and I believe we are, to a readout on L then there are folks who already know how this is gonna go. I very much agree with Flipper's view if that matters.
Flip, my wife used to sell Jevtana for Sanofi-Aventis before she got laid off. Just goes with the pharma territory. It's ok she landed a better gig with a better company. Let me just say this, her company had a drug in phase 3. I will just say, the sales force knew well in advance (about two months) that approval would be coming. Trust me, the company knows quite a bit in advance how things are proceeding. Remember the very heavy, inexplicable volume in mid September, and early October? Hmmm
PFE has 21 billion in cash on hand and 41 billion in debt. So they issued debt to pay down debt? You really should start your own pharma co. :)
PFE raised 6 billion in a debt offering today. Looks like someone wants to go shopping.

Short interest up little over a million shares. Anticipation of new financing/Clinton victory? Would be a good time for a positive surprise announcement.
Every successful person has had many failures. The Kluge estate Trump purchased for 6.5 million was valued at almost 100 million. This is one of the most prized properties in the state of Virginia. The media has branded Trump as a buffoon, and always underestimated him. To his advantage I would say. After all, he will be the next POTUS.
This is in my neck of the woods Flip. Familiar with this story. Trump bought the Kluge estate at auction that included a winery and the Kluge Mansion. Those not familiar with Mr. Kluge, he was a billionaire who owned among many things, Metromedia communications, which was sold to Mr. Murdoch, which is now none other than FOX news. When Mr. Kluge died his wife made some very poor financial choices and hence the auction of the estate. This was and is prime property in the rolling hills around Charlottesville VA. Many millionaires and quasi celebrities have property in the area and is commonly referred to as millionaire's row. Kluge's life is quite interesting if anyone is interested in his story. Some sordid details about his wife sleeping with former GOV of VA Douglas Wilder and she was a former belly dancer. :)

It has been a few days since NWBO had to put the recent offering on hold due to the previous buyers 50% clause. So we have a bit of competitive bidding for the shares for a lack of a better analogy. Seems that the buyer really wanted the whole block of 14 million shares to themselves. Is it possible that this buyer could go back to NWBO and say I'll raise my offer to 75 cents or higher to the point where the previous buyer with the 50% clause says I'm not interested in the shares at that price. Just a thought.
From today's 8k "The number of shares which the prospective investor in this financing desired to purchase and the number of shares which the prior investors would have a right to purchase may exceed the number of shares the Company may sell in this type of transaction." Appears to be a single investor for the current offering versus prior investors.
I usually agree with you md but not on this one. He sold his soul a long time ago. A truly deprived and demented man and nothing honorable in what he does no matter the reason he does it. I have a pitch fork for a tongue but board etiquette will not allow me to stab him with it.
High demand into the close 4 sure. Someone make a donation to the Clinton Foundation? joke :)
MD or anyone have any idea on why the recent shelf keeps getting updated? Any significance to this? Was filed at 3:30 today and there was significant buying from that time until the close. TIA
I think TC touched on this a bit a while back. KCG could be holding the naked shares in a "sold not bought yet" on their balance sheet. It looks to me "they" and I'm not sure who "they" are, (KCG, UBS, multiple HF's) play a bit of a shell game just passing the shares back and forth. In my estimation, "they" would have had to create between 40 and 60 million naked shares to keep the price down over the past month. I don't know how or why anyone or group would take on this type of risk. All JMO.
Mav, I saw your message but I cannot offer any explanation for the difference in the numbers between the two sites. The long volume looked pretty close but as you noted the short volume did not. I use the sites as a general barometer as to what is going on with the trading but cannot account for its accuracy. Hope as many others do we can get the answers to this saga soon!
