I agree, G550! This article bears re-posting on this, and for that matter, ALL bio message boards. I sincerely hope that the SEC will step up to the plate and discharge their duty to curb this type of thing. It is 100% apparent that AF is engaged in promoting half-truths, negative spin, and in some cases outright lies to advance the interest of Shorts.

lb: It may not have lowered your cholesterol, but inasmuch as you were able to post your statement, I can reasonably conclude that you have not had a fatal cardiovascular event...
Re, coordinated short attacks: It would indeed be time consuming, but if you were to look at the followers of that Twitter account, and then the followers of those followers, as well as the last group's "following list", (admittedly, a big number to cross-reference), I think that members the "AMRN, Organized Short Brigade" could be identified, at least to the degree that they are using Twitter as a coordinated communications hub.
Just recalled this song tonight... the lyrics (truly worth a listen), seem to perfectly describe the sulfurous, quintessential AMRN short that tends to routinely show up simply to spread FUD.
SPAM.
Naw....Zyklon B.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! ...Gasp, LOLOLOLOLO
Not everyone ignored you, JL. (I am a member of the cadre that lent credence to your statement.)
Oh, yeah....and I love the Golden Vanity!
I happen to know Cappello personally, and I would not bet against him on this, yeah, he's a straight shooter.
I think it will probably be 1~2 weeks 'til we see the scripts bump as the Symphony #s lag by a week... then, Look out Shorty!
LOL.
Louie, I know for a fact that You and I both know the identitie(s) of Zum and Cappello. Let people speculate all they wish as to who they are, and are they one, and the same, or two different entities.
Really???
So, it appears that Renaissance Technologies LLC sold all yesterday?!?! If this is more shit from Maggy Hamburger, heads should roll!
To the best of my knowledge, no lawsuit was filed. The Pomerantz / Investors issue, that gained some press today,is not a lawsuit, it is an "investigation", NOT a lawsuit. This was most likely set in motion by shorts wishing to give the appearance that there is an action against Amarin, when in fact, no such thing is currently happening with respect to the issue noted.
Why?
I would would not be surprised to learn that Baker Bros. bough quite a few shares today.
studini: Short term, (read that as VERY short term), you may (just may) have some sort of a point.
Long term, (which you probably consider to be something on the order of hours or, at best, a day or two), you are going to be proven wrong and massively wrong in terms of income.
Look: If something works, and further, is proven to work, then it works regardless of how much you might wish otherwise.
In summary, Tick-tock, Mofo.... most of us Longs have been, and will be here for the long haul. Enjoy your pennies. Most of us who actually have a clue are already up >6~800+%. Obviously, you missed this kind of gain.
You shorts kind of remind me of seagulls fighting for a few rancid french fries in a MacDonald's® parking lot...and that is the kind of reward that you can expect.
Personally, I am VERY happy with my investment and it is not for sale.
If BB gets a letter or package from Janet, I'd suggest that he definitely not open it, but rather, listen for ticking noises and have it scanned in an X-Ray machine....
I wonder how much naked shorting might be going on with this volume & price.
Scottrade no longer exists...I wish that TD would have kept the same format for their website... it was much less cumbersome.
TTE Here's a start, (and a very basic start, at that)...https://twitter.com/JohnCappello
Happy to share that @journal has published detailed results from REDUCE-IT. Read more here: https://t.co/coLQboMivJ

Funniest post of the year, tcanoy!!
I've followed Cappello on Twitter for a long while. He's got it right.
(Disregard at your own peril.)
Zum, can you help this newbie out?
Is that our ol' buddy, Mogwai perhaps?
Well, well, Cajun. I've just taken to time to review a whole bunch of your prior postings on iHub and see that you're one of the class of people generally referred to as "mouthy shorts. Your "TIMBER" statement, was a tip off that you might be part of that fellowship. Upon review of your posts, there is no doubt that you are a part of that fellowship.
Go ahead....short AMRN in the face of the groundbreaking data revealed at the AHA conference and further noted in the New England Journal of Medicine. It will give me great pleasure to know that your upcoming margin call will be followed by a fierce fight with your wife caused by the loss of a LOT of money due to your stupidity, false bravado and lack of critical thinking ability.
You're making a very unwise choice here, buttercup .
As an addendum to your thoughts, Birds, it should be noted that the Feuerstein/Forbes article was free for the viewing... It seems logical that someone underwrote that cost, and further, it is interesting to note (actually, disgusting to note) that Feuerestein is taunting AMRN investors on his Twitter account.
That seems like pretty unprofessional behavior for a "journalist".
Truly, I'm not surprised to see such an article in Sucking Alpha. Interestingly, the article was written by some anonymous author, writing under the screen name of; DoctoRx. This should lead anyone with a brain larger than that of a pigeon to ask several questions, of which I'll just note a couple for the sake of brevity.:
1.) If that shill was a person with any serious credentials as a scientist or medical professional, why would they hide their identity behind that ridiculous screen name?
2.) Inasmuch as they seem to possess no legitimate credentials, why should anyone give credence to to DoctoRx's obviously flawed opinion as stated in his comment; "Not loving the NEJM comment on mineral oil as placebo", over the information put forth in the peer reviewed, New England Journal of Medicine, article?
It is OBVIOUSLY nothing more than a hit piece, written with the sole intent of negatively affecting AMRN's PPS.
OK, Dad.
Can you provide online link to article?
TIA!
"Expertise – If there is an acknowledged leader in the science and manufacturing of fish oil, it is Dr. Barry Sears. His name is on every bottle of OmegaRx 2, so it has to answer to the highest possible standards."
"...so it has to answer to the highest possible standards."
I'm sorry, but that statement, alone, sounds like something I'd expect to hear from a voice-over artist in a TV commercial for an OTC brand of pimple cream or breakfast sausage.
Amarin has numerous patents and other IP, (as well as an approved label), that would likely strongly discourage others from trying to "piggyback" on the Reduce-It info, via making claims touting and comparing the benefits of various Omega-3 concoctions (e.g. Lovaza® or other similar, Rx or OTC compounds containing both EPA and DHA etc.).
In point of fact, two dietary supplement companies are currently being sued for just such a reason.
Dan, In all things, using the correct tool is of paramount importance. My understanding is that Tonya Harding's "plumbing tool" of choice was an 18 inch-long section of 1.75 inch in diameter, Acme brand, double galvanized, iron pipe.
(This information is for entertainment purposes only.)
TTE, you add a heck of a lot to this board, for which many of us are very grateful. And hey...who doesn't like elves?
Do not harbor a single, self loathing thought.
That being said.....if I find so much as a single lump of coal in my stocking again this year...there's gonna be trouble!!
Baker Bros. are inarguably some of the smartest, most successful biopharma guys...ever.
I think they were well aware of the mineral oil "debate" well in advance of deciding to buy 40,020,809 shares (13.5%) of the company.
Further, if anyone would dare to pit the success of Fartstain's or Herpes' predictions against those of the Baker Bros., they would view Matthew and Adam as a couple of "wet behind the ears", pikers.
It should also be noted that, to the best of my knowledge, the NEJM has never courted either of them for a staff-writer position.
From NEJM:

And, ....you just earned the "iggy button" Jt0082.
NB: you should probably should spend some time here before mouthing off.
Amen!
