And it's about fck'in time......thank you JT!!!!
Biotech, all of Amarin's patents aren't listed in the Orange Book. I'll look but others may be able to point you right at the patent that will overcome Epanova.
Hello Zu, this patent is the real blockbuster. The Hydroxyl-derivative I recall was sourced from Atorvastatin and it acted as an HMG-CoA inhibitor. In the combination with O-3, it had the most significant positive result.
AMR102, here we come!!
You do realize, Nuke, that alcohol consumption lists all those symptoms as side effects!
Never ceases to amaze me how they can pin the price in such a narrow band for hours at a time. It's like a little miracle!
Sort of agree.....there are ACQUISITIONS and then there are Fire Sales!!!!
I know I'm way behind reading the board but WRT Medicare Coverage of V, I have Express Scripts Plan D and I pay $156.00 3-month Co-Pay this year.
Thank you Charles, very well done rebuttal! Concise and made all the right points.
Well.....alrighty then! Thank you all for the corrected time.
Was setup to go but can't get into the live conference. By the looks of the PPS since presentation began, JT must be killing it with his regular presentation. Woo-hoo!
Anyone know the last date for FDA to issue 74-day letter?
What's the presumptive "latest date" that the FDA would issue the 74-day letter?
Anyone think we're headed for Max Pain territory?
Exactly what did Item 6 in that Form 8-K filing actually mean?
Anywhere near Boca, Delray, Palm Beach or Jupiter?
danfromchicago, I have a short position of 16,000 Shrs of AMRN that were sold at 17.79 on Friday and a long position of 16 May 24 $17.00 Calls. I must cover the short today since it's in an IRA Acct. What's the optimal trading scenario for this situation. My email is drrc1949@gmail.
BB, sorry for my ignorance but other than the obvious "screw Amarin" scenarios, what indications have emerged that the FDA will be calling for a July Ad Com?
I just renewed my 90 day supply through an Express Scripts Part D Plan at a local CVS Pharmacy. My cost was $105.00 or $35.00 per month.
Excuse me....my bad. Haven't been on the board lately and mistakenly equated Options to Warrants. Sorry for the confusion, I'll be leaving now.
Greetings fellow Titan bagholders! Can anyone point me to an explanation of the apparent proposal to reprice warrants? Thanks in advance.
Hi Slim, normal V dosing is 2 grams AM and 2 grams PM. Best to you!
BB, I apologize if this has already been widely publicized, but has there been a ruling in the ITC case that compels them to do their job and investigate the supplement question?
sts66, when I looked into paying cash with the coupon vs using my Part D coverage, there was no comparison. You can't get Vascepa for $9.00 unless you have commercial insurance to pay the balance over the Amarin coupon allowance. That was end of story.
Today....like so many other days past...is the reason I could never vote for John Thero as CEO of the Year. GLTA and God Help Us.
You're right STS, LDL-C may have been an erroneous indicator all along especially in light of the findings by Dr. R. Preston Mason. His studies have shown that Statin drugs cause the soft lipid contents of endothelial plaques to be gradually replaced with calcium formations that stabilize these plaques. This stability reduces eruptions thereby lowering cardiovascular events. The transformation is independent of LDL-C lowering but researchers grasping for explanations may have concluded that the reduction of LDL was the actual benefit.
One issue I have with STRENGTH is the Corn Oil placebo. From my reading, Corn Oil taken in daily 4 gram doses has potential to lower the EPA:AA ratio from baseline in the placebo group. That means the placebo group may become sicker just by participating in the trial. When compared to the treatment arm, it will appear that a stronger result was obtained. Looks to me like a bit of Steve Nissen slight of hand!
hornett, it strikes me that one way to get a reader's interest and the interest of a web crawler is to ask the question, "Has your doctor put you on a daily Statin?" That population is huge and it's a significant group that Vascepa targets. Folks who take Statins would probably react, I know I would.
Not very happy about this myself but what can we do about it?. This goes on whenever the "powers that be" want to contain or influence the AMRN stock price. It should be illegal if it isn't already and it should be enforced.
Invest, somewhere in the $16.50 to $17.50 range is the sweet spot for Max Pain. It'll probably run back up to around $17.25 by the close. It is amazing how the manipulators can execute with such pinpoint accuracy. I don't fully understand how they do it.
You know, as much as I view John Thero as an excellent CEO for this company, he totally sucks as an orator representing it. He should hire a Communications Director who could bring a little panache to the podium.
STS, if the Corn Oil as a placebo in Strength Trial isn't challenged, it will actually work in Nissen's favor. The corn oil will potentially contribute to even higher levels of inflammation in placebo and therefore may generate far higher numbers of serious CVEs in that group. This effect would make the treatment group look that much better especially since Nissen et al expect the rise in LDL-C to be primarily large particle.
Amarin better be ready to slam this door shut!
JL, there you go - right from the mouth of Dr Bhatt. I know you may not want to be one of the mechanics but you could certainly Drive The Bus....(free ride to Sweden!)
Hi BB, what I know is Herper and the Forbes article and that c..k-su.k.r Nissen destroyed any chance of my Amarin investment rehab. I worked my way back to a significant position in AMRN options but I figured that $20.00 would be the absolute low end price following the AHA announcements and I was wrong. Still impossible to accept that they did it to us again. I had over 250 Calls for Nov 16 & 23 in the low 20s and the last of these will expire today.
I was proud to be part of the original EPADI. I made several contributions in support of the effort to bring our story to the public. Didn't have the success I'd hoped for but it was worth the effort and I applaud all those who took part. I'll be departing this Board today having lost far more than I ever could have imagined possible. I still believe fervently in Vascepa and I'll continue taking it as long as I can. Good luck to you all and keep up the fight. Goodbye.
Anonymous, let's not forget the PCSK-9 promoters!
It wouldn't surprise me either Anonymous Fish, but as you know there are 2 big issues going against Strength. The first and most obvious is the LDL-C raising property that appears to be a function of DHA intake. The other as we all know (those familiar with Vascepa) is dosing! The EPA dosage in Strength is less than half that of Reduce-It, I recall. (You can slap me if I'm not remembering precisely). That does not bode well for a successful trial. I suppose you could also consider the probable level of uncomfortable side effects as negatives for Strength. I don't know how they can spin more daily toilet visits as a plus....but who knows?
Thanks Sonam for providing that link. I had in fact seen that story on Nissen at a previous time when his judgement was being questioned. He calls himself a crusader, probably true....and he has the same morality of the original lot....but they were religious zealots, he a statin zealot. Seems I recall they used similar arguments to profit for themselves.
I may have already read it but I can't recall. Love to see that article however
Does anyone share my thought that today's trading is being controlled to keep the price between 16.50 and 17.50 so as to maximize the effect of options expiration. Thinking that next week's trading will be only minimally effected by weekly options as the outstanding numbers are quite low.
I'm also hoping we see a little rally next week as result but that's probably being way too optimistic, right?
I think that was a good move Hspoon. I'm not afraid to roll them, I just don't have any money left. Gotta get a little higher, then I can consolidate my holdings and roll into smaller volume in Jan or Mar and maybe stay alive.
