Thanks for doing that johnsyn.
Unfortunately, the bunch of Bozo's (oops...sorry...Bozo is probably a trademarked name...), the bunch of clowns APDN must have working in their sales department doesn't exactly instill confidence they'll actually do anything with the lead, or if they do talk to someone at UDOT, that they'll be able to make a sale.
"Well let's see...those yokels in Utah aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the pack, they lost $400,000.00 due to that recent copper theft where nobody saw nothin' but some empty beer bottles afterwards, so let's tell them the cost of a botanical dna marker unique to the Utah Dept. of Transportation would only cost $399,999.00, and for that price we would throw in 3 free authentications. Totally a win-win deal. (Big, greedy, conspiratorial grin...) Ha! If they don't go for that, I'll clean toilets for a week here at the office!"
Thieves take record amount of copper in Utah heist
http://news.yahoo.com/thieves-record-amount-copper-utah-160058797.html
"We can't keep wire in the ground to save our lives," he said, estimating that the department deals with smaller-scale thefts nearly every week. Thieves take the wire to recyclers who will for metal by the pound.
"The most evidence I've seen is those beer bottles over there," he said, adding, "That's the curiosity. It seems impossible that someone didn't see something and say something."
Good grief APDN!!! Shame on you for allowing Utah DOT workers to lose their lives because they can't keep their copper wire in the ground where it belongs. (I'm wondering...are they executed, or do they die of shame?)
It truly is a sad state of affairs for everybody in this day and age when a United State's state governmental agency is using beer bottles for evidence instead of botanical dna.
I say again...GOOD GRIEF! lol
yep...its a very, very good sign.
Tough to have a war if you don't have an army, and APDN is putting out the call to arms.
Not sure what kind of hiring binge you are looking for mcsharkey....
this is what they are currently advertising for in their careers section and that's way more positions than they've had in the past.

And Larry Kick was just hired in Feb. of this year. Obviously he was given three main tasks...HIRE! HIRE! HIRE!
That was posted as "Latest News Headlines" for APDN on Scottrade, so it found me.
And I hope it continues upwards to .28 and beyond as well. Still not selling any for under a dollar, but at half a penny a day, I should only have to wait 5 or 6 more months. (Or less!)
As Telly Savalas would say...APDN - Who loves ya, baby?
2 Penny Stocks in the News: (OTCQB: AAMRQ), (OTCQB: APDN)
Applied DNA Sciences Inc. (OTCQB: APDN) stock is at $0.25, up 7.03 percent from its previous close of $0.23. The stock opened the session at $0.24 and touched its highest price point at $0.26. Applied DNA Sciences stock's lowest price point for the session stood at $0.23. The stock is currently in line with its 20 days SMA and its 50 days SMA of $0.25, thus showing bullish trend. Its MACD chart confirms bullish trend and the stock is likely to touch $0.28 price level in coming trading sessions.
Yep...let's hope APDN comes out of hibernation soon.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Dang it! I tried, but I had to do a 100 share minimum order and I didn't have enough mulah to do that.
Funny how the asked changed to .189 right before the close though.
Like someone was watching this board to see if we would slap the ask to make it go green for the day or not. lol
and not with mine either.
I will be hovering over the submit bid button at 1 minute before the close today with every dollar I have available!
I'm ready...hopefully I won't need to, but we'll see.
I think people are making the correlation that the last time APDN was this quiet on press releases, was shortly before they announced the DLA mandate for FSC 5962 microchips, and that it stands to reason that perhaps their long silence now is because they are about to announce an addition to the mandate. (FSC 5961 or even more maybe???)
In my most humble opinion anyway...
"No News for Applied DNA Sciences Inc"
Does seem strange even for APDN. It looks like this is their longest stretch of silence since June to August of last year.
It would be nice to see a slew of PR's that revolved around, "We couldn't tell you this before because it was secretive and confidential while we were in the implementation stage, but our anti-counterfeiting platform is now in full force with the following company...."
hey apdn1...
sorry...I was away from the board, but I was ready to put in a last second ask slap if needed.
Today wasn't me, so that means I still have my 15 bucks to try again tomorrow.
Good article Sea Pigeon.
I think we have a "stock volcano" in the making with APDN...
First...a lot of rumblings all around...smoke spewing into the air...people get excited, but then everything settles down for awhile...a little more rumbling...nothing much...people ignore it, until....
BOOM!!!! ERUPTION! PYROCLASTIC FLOWS!!! The whole works.
Kind of like Mt. Vesuvious, only with money raining down on us instead of magma. LOL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Vesuvius
"Mount Vesuvius is best known for its eruption in AD 79 that led to the burying and destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. That eruption ejected a cloud of stones, ash and fumes to a height of 20.5 miles, spewing molten rock and pulverized pumice at the rate of 1.5 million tons per second, ultimately releasing a hundred thousand times the thermal energy released by the Hiroshima bombing.[1] An estimated 16,000 people died due to hydrothermal pyroclastic flows.[2]"
"Increasing Market for Luxury Apparels"
http://www.fibre2fashion.com/industry-article/paidArticles/4617.asp
Which means there is an increasing market for luxury apparels counterfeiters!
Which should mean that there is an increasing market/need for luxury apparels anti-counterfeiting methods.
C'mon APDN! Hire some Girl Scouts for your sales department already!!! lol
If you follow some of the linkedin dots, there are people from L'Oreal, Avon, Chanel, Revlon, Coach, etc....
all products that could sure use an advanced anti-counterfeiting method of some type in today's world...
well..maybe not Avon.
I think you'd be working for Kenneth Klug.

In case anyone is interested, Louis Vuitton is looking for an Anti-Counterfeit Manager.

I was thinking of applying....
waltz in there on first day of job wearing a nice suit with tie and blinding spit-shined shoes, say my "Howdy Doos" to everyone, go to my corner office, get APDN on the phone, initiate botanical dna track and trace systems on all product lines. Come lunch time, I'd smoke a cigar after my 3 martinis and call it a day. Mission accomplished. lol
...but, I don't have the 20 years of federal law enforcement experience. I've never even been to jail, so unfortunately, I can't even say I have any experience in that arena.
Hummmmmmm...
Thanks wishful.
I only have enough left for one share each day. But that's all it takes.
At least I won't have to remember to hit the "All or None" button before I submit the orders. lol
What would help get more people to use smart phones for every day tasks such as shopping, would be if Apple provided a low end smartphone that didn't cost as much as a typical one does these days.
More affordability means more people using them. More people using them means more money for lots of different companies with lots of different apps.
And as we all know...money is what it's all about.
Hmmm...well what do you know....looks like Apple may have already thought of doing that.
http://money.msn.com/top-stocks/post.aspx?post=b720e35c-8a60-4344-aaef-77600d954f11
I think there's a famous saying out there that goes something like, "Smartphone checkouts to Smartphone anti-counterfeit authentication - one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Uhmmm...ok....maybe not.
But here's a good article that I think is a hint of things to come...
http://news.msn.com/us/wal-mart-rolling-out-smartphone-checkouts-at-200-stores
This is great news for APDN IMO. Get people used to using their phones for checking prices while in a store, checking out, etc., and verifying product authenticity will surely become as commonplace not long afterwards. I hope anyway.
"Wow! That's an amazing price for that HDTV Lisa! Hmmm.....but that price seems too low for it to be made by Sony. Do you think it might be a knockoff?"
"Hold on a minute Sue, I'll check." (holds smartphone up to packaging.) "Nope. Not a knockoff. It's made by Sony all right. It says its a closeout model, and from the tracking info, it looks like it's been here at the store for awhile, so they must be trying to make room for new ones coming in. For that price, I'd get it if I had the money right now."
Thanks APDN 1 and Believer,
With this making 4 days in a row of being green, it was a big risk on my part. I'm going to be kicking myself tomorrow if the price drops down any and I could have gotten that many shares for less than $40.00, instead of the 42 plus I paid today.
Good luck to all and here's hoping we get news in the AM or sooner!
Woo Hoo!!! I got em!
I splurged and bought 200 shares at .1765 right at the wire.
Best $42.48 (including commision) I ever spent, I'll tell you that! lol
Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
I still plan on slapping the ask with my 100 cheapies at EOD, so hopefully it doesn't go much higher!
Just my little contribution to keep the volume and price up as best we can.
I don't normally share what I buy in terms of quantity or price, but speaking of cheapies, I am pretty pleased with myself that I managed to score 289 shares at .163 on Monday.
I'm looking to buy another 100 shares today at the end of the day to try and make sure it stays green.
After that, I'm out of available cash. lol
Great find wishful!
Unfortunately, I think that means another 7.5 million worth of Warrants and Stocks is going out the window.
And I'm totally guessing about that since I've never bought a Senator or Congressperson's vote on anything before. But I can't imagine it's cheap to do.
-Pay lobbying firm set amount (large dollar figure) up front to lobby on my behalf.
-Lobbying firm provides "menu" of political incumbents with rates showing how much of a typical "campaign contribution" is required for each person to side with me on what I want to have happen.
-Lobbying firm requires expense account for meeting and "entertainment" purposes involving all party members engaged. (This includes direct costs plus 5% that are to be paid entirely by me.)
-Payments made do not guarantee outcome of vote, and process may have to start over.
-Etc., etc., etc....
I think that's how it would work anyway. :-P
.
*NEWS* *NEWS* *NEWS*
I'm here today too.
That's it. That's all I have to report.
I think yip posted this info before. I don't know if all of the new job openings at APDN had any effect on the recent volume/price or not, but it is definitely a great sign that the company is expanding rapidly, personnel wise at least.
http://www.adnas.com/contact/careers
Larry Kick, the HR guy doing the hiring, was only hired last month himself.
The biggest disappointment I saw was that they were hiring an "Accounts Payable Clerk", but not an Accounts Receivable Clerk.
We know they have enough money going out to need at least one person to keep track of all the expenditures, but must be they still don't have enough money coming in to warrant one whole position for that. So either they expect sales to remain down for awhile, or else diverting cash over to the offshore subsidiary doesn't require a lot of time.
http://www.securitynewsdesk.com/2013/03/18/applied-dna-sciences-focused-on-european-expansion-in-high-value-markets/
old news, but just showed up at that site yesterday.
"The firm is hoping the targeting of high-value apparels and the military sector can help develop organic growth throughout the verticals as APDN continues to be recognised as the “most rigorous anti-counterfeit science available”."
Organic growth? Is that an intended pun? lol
thanks ms. johnsyn...
it would be nice to have a company buy/use the technology that wasn't mandated to do so.
"Even though those cheeky buggers at APDN charge an arm and a leg for salad dna, we are voluntarily forensically marking our product to ensure you receive what you expect - each, and every time, without question!"
thanks yip...I saw that too in my initial search. Not sure what the significance is, but thought that was interesting.
Maybe deep space can enlighten us?
Oh...and HGST also to see if there is a link to apdn.
Does anyone have time to see if there is something brewing between APDN, Xi3, and/or AMD (Advanced Micro-devices)?
Work is killing me or I would spend some time on it.
Thanks in advance.

"And as for people being nervous about the DNA on their clothing, Reep says consumers need only be reminded that when they eat a salad, they're eating plant DNA."
Another oldie but goodie...
http://proactivecapital.com/2011/08/03/how-big-is-the-counterfeiting-market-for-apdn-answer-apple-big/
I like this part...
"It is becoming clear that the counterfeiting problem is so omniscient, and so well-funded, that the govenment must step in on several fronts to protect intellectual property of legitimate businesses, who worked hard to build their brands."
...that was in 2011 and the government HAS stepped in. Or at least put their foot in the door. Only a matter of time before they come bustin' through into a full sprint after them omniscient, well funded counterfeiters!
I am sure this has been posted already, but the article has some nice "hints" that APDN may be in the running for providing a drug tracking system in the not so distant future.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/13/fake-drug-tracking-system-counterfeit-medicine_n_2678137.html
WASHINGTON — Fighting the problem of fake drugs will require creating a national drug-tracking system, the Institute of Medicine said Wednesday.
The call for putting medications through a chain of custody like U.S. courts require for evidence in a trial comes a week after the Food and Drug Administration warned doctors, for the third time in about a year, that it discovered a counterfeit batch of the cancer drug Avastin that lacked the real tumor-killing ingredient.
"putting medications through a chain of custody like U.S. courts require for evidence"...hmmmmm....as in forensic evidence?
"The Institute of Medicine report made clear that this is a global problem that requires an international response, with developing countries especially at risk from phony medications."
I like the idea of a one source, global drug-tracking system (as long as the one source is our BFF APDN.)
"A mandatory drug-tracking system could use some form of barcodes or electronic tags to verify that a medication and the ingredients used to make it are authentic at every step, from the manufacturing of the active ingredient all the way to the pharmacy, he said."
Mandatory?! Why, we know of a company that is being mandated by the US Government to be used for tracking and tracing of microchips this very minute. The technology is perfect for medicine track and trace use also, and if the US Government has put its stamp of approval on it, then what are you waiting for FDA/World Health Organization?!
Everybody write your Congress person and tell them you demand that a mandatory drug-tracking system using APDN's technology needs to be implemented as fast as the Doritos Locos Cool Ranch Taco was!!!
(i.e., within our lifetimes!) lol
