thanks atlanta. eom
Thanks for the thoughtful reply Petemantx. eom
Jock, any known projected timelines for completion of the lawsuit?
Mens, what's your view/interpretation of how the market is reacting thus far to this morning's ANY news? Why a negative reaction?
Maybe he was gracious enough to "disappear" and not rub salt into the longs' wounds. After all, he's making money and winning the trades. Last face it, there's an extreme level of denial going on with the longs who are - is it not apparent??? - on the wrong side of this trade and have been for a long time. Short vs Longs. Score: Shorts 50, Longs, 0.
And yet the longs on this board keep up the same theme, one pps drop after another: "next news release," "next quarter," "next year," etc. The next news release long ago arrived many times over, the next quarter has occurred 4 times over, and next year has arrived from the perspective of this time last year when longs were all about next year. Well guess what? This is "next year" seen from the perspective of the longs' claims from last year. Enough. Time to wake up! This has been, and continues to be, a terrible investment! Certainly one of the worse I have ever made and one from which I hope to learn much.
Thank God I'm not in at "110%" like others. I would have lost half of my portfolio by now. Those who are in at a "110%" must have got in very early and thus far are still in the green. Seems like several of the longs tend to forget that many other longs are not 'sitting as pretty' as they are. For many of us, this stock has been a loser...thus far.
"Hot Stock." What a joke!!
Despite the hemorrhaging that occurred today? On the heels of good news, this can't move up, as evidenced today. Why invest in it further right now?
WTF happened? Anyone with credible insight? Not a "feeling," but real insight into what happened today?
Anyone have insight into the alleged promo? For example, who's promoting XXII? Is there a link to the promo? How much the promo cost? etc. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
danross, thanks for your thoughtful point of view. "Are the shorts trapped?" I don't know, but I do observe that they have far more power over the pps than the longs do. Why is that? Anyone?
"I just do not see a catalyst for a sharp movement down."
I don't know how you define the word "sharp" but, in my view, the "sharp" decline is already occurring and has not necessarily ended with the 10th consecutive red day today! I would not be surprised to see the bleeding continue.
This is not a stock that responds to real market metrics but is at the mercy of cunning forces that operate out of reach of legal entities. They have successfully driven it down many times in the past and I don't see why the present and the future won't be any different.
Legal intervention...don't hold your breath!!
OMG, 16 of the last 20 trading days in RED!!! My god, this stock needs a extra potent dose of Viagra!!! No virility, no strength, no stamina! And I'm not referring to the company, but the stock, two completely, diametrically opposed realities. Actually, the former is grounded in reality, the latter in a makeshift world of corruption, deception, manipulation, and avarice.
Agreed!
Thrilled? Are you kidding? No way? The pps of this investment of mine (long) has taken a beating over the last year, and I'm still well in the red. I got in at the wrong time and my money has been tied up ever since. It could have been better invested elsewhere. So, no, "thrilled" is not an apt descriptor for many longs who, like myself, were blindsided by the super power of the shorts.
Hey Chair, what's the date of this Chardan piece?
Zed, do you know if the short position is growing or shrinking over the last several months?
Thanks Zed. That explains a lot!
Does anyone know if there's a considerable short position in this stock? It seems that every time the pps gets a positive boost on the back of seemingly great news, it can not sustain itself and seems driven down by what appears to be short forces. Any one have a clue?
Yes, one would think the pps would be through the f#$@kin roof!! But such is not the way in the seedy world of the stock market. Corruption to left, manipulation to the right.
Have never seen "extended hours" option online before. Certain it does not exist. Perhaps phone orders? Will have to inquire with RBC. Thanks for you answer.
Please forgive my ignorance, but how does one buy stock after market hours, i.e., when the market is closed? If I was to place an order with my broker (RBC) after hours, it would sit until the market opens the next day.
Yeah, I know. Boy, was he off the mark!!
Matt Finston. He's been hired by "Pumps and Dumps."
I'm a year long investor whose investment has nosedived over the same period of time, during which I have witnessed the same old foolish rhetoric concerning the shorts and the ANY short position.
With each passing month, I watched and marveled at the lack of insight and wisdom on this board concerning the shorts, their position, and their strategies. They have, far and away, proven to be the dominant player in this stock. In fact, this has been quite a learning experience and I will never get involved in a stock again with such a large short position, that is, at least not until the same has diminished in scope and size. My money has been trapped in a stock that has only continued to consistently lose value over time, despite the enduring strength of its fundamentals.
So when I now see someone like yourself touting the downfall of the shorts - again - I watch in amazement at the lack of hindsight and, indeed, foresight. All IMHO!
"Merger play?" What are you talking about?
Apology accepted, np!
The "original investors" are the ones sitting pretty, having got in early and still in the green. Not so for me (and perhaps you as well?)!
blah, blah, blah...this sentiment has been expressed countless times over the last year, to no avail.
C'mon give the guy a break...he was pretty dam close in his projection, much closer in his call than anyone else on this board!
Lower lows, lower highs...shorts in complete control as always...not desperate but disciplined, organized and intelligently having their way today and always until they go away.
Unfortunately, no good news will save this titanic. Market values are not determined by good news nor bad news but by those who wield power, money, and influence in the Stock Market. The stock will perform as they dictate - as evidenced by the current pps performance - and not by reality. IMHO
You are warning others by "flashing your lights!" But, to complete your metaphor, you are not only "flashing your lights," you have also pulled over to the shoulder, parked, and all the while, continue to flash your lights, day and night, week after week, month in, month out.
Those who flash their headlights to warn others, continue en route to their destination. You, on the other hand, appear to have forgotten your destination and, mired on the side of the road, have taken up "flashing lights" as a substitute destiny, oblivious that the cruiser, with the radar, may have moved on. Maybe it's time for you to recall your initial destination, get off the shoulder, and move on.
But shouldn't this short position, combined with yesterday's extraordinary news, be creating upward pressure (i.e., a short squeeze) as opposed to downward pressure. I mean, if not now, when are circumstances ripe for a short squeeze?
"I believe this is the shorts last stand..." How many times have we heard this refrain over the last year?? Too many too count.
What if, in anticipation of the margin calls, they pre-empt the calls by liquidating their assets before the broker has a chance to? And once liquidated, they then move their money out of the brokerage firm? I'm only guessing here at some of the machinations the criminal shorts are capable of in order to avoid their fate.
They are not honest, ethical people interested in playing the markets fairly. Given their lack of moral character, again, what is to prevent them from engaging in more illegal, criminal activity wholly designed to circumvent their obligation to cover? Have they not been thus successful to date? I mean, after all these months surely their time to cover must have elapsed, no?
Is it possible - not likely, just possible - that the shorts will be able to circumvent their obligation to cover? How does the market force someone to cover? Can it? As it is evident that these unscrupulous individuals resort to all manner of deceit, manipulation, fraud, and nefarious activity, what, if anything, can or will prevent them from pulling off the ultimate heist, i.e., not covering, not meeting their destiny?
Add to this the fact that many respectable and reputable people on this board have, many times over the last several months, calculated that shorts would have to cover in, for example, 20 days, or 12 days, or 24 days, or whatever. All these timelines have long ago expired, and yet the short count increases, giving the impression that not only is covering not happening according to these timelines, but, to the contrary, more shorting is occurring. How does one account for this?
How do you do that? My broker, RBC, rejects my sell orders.
Why is the Chardan Report viewed (or is it?) as credible, reputable, and trustworthy, when it is known through their own disclosure that XXII is paying them to cover and promote XXII? Anybody?
