...I have heard some complain to the effect that I "frequently and incessantly posted and semi-documented, the Calmare device may have no value or effectiveness..."????...to which I say -- what????!...begging everyone's pardon but I am about the ONLY person for the last FEW HUNDRED posts who has actually posted about topics related to CTTC's BUSINESS...and, as I recall, the forum is MEANT to be about CTTC's BUSINESS and everything that might be RELEVANT to that business...
...which is why I post about things like insurance companies, medicare, and medicaid refusing to reimburse the device...
...about D'Amato's lack of explanation for why he hasn't opened any of those TEN ADDITIONAL clinics he promised DESPITE getting a federal GRANT of somewhere around $250,000 dollars...
...about why Chalmers hasn't explained opening only TWO of the ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY clinics CTTC announced he would open...
...about CTTC's lack of explanation for what happened to those clinics that were SUPPOSED to be opening in Wyoming and Colorado and that were SUPPOSED to be ordering 46 machines...
...about the Clinuvel royalties that presumably were supposed to flowing into CTTC's bank account at some point in time...
...about why Gatti and Tor Vergata teamed up with the PBK-2C manufacturer instead of with CTTC...
...about GEOMC telling everyone on their website that the bugzapper is available for "home use"?...
...about why there's no explanation for why the guy that replaced Smith changed the VCU trial?...
...about why CTTC apparently could care less that no one can read about Marineo and the bugzapper on the very popular webpedia site because apparently has put in any effort to get them out of the "deletionpedia"?...
...about the logic of hiring a gas company to distribute bugzappers in Albania?...
...about the meaning of that paragraph in the last 10Q that makes it sound like CTTC has taken over worldwide sale and distribution THEMSELVES?...
...about CTTC's failure to explain the alleged hiring of an attorney in Denver -- an attorney with a history of defending clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Colorado Attorney General, and the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department...
...about -- MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL -- CTTC's evident refusal to announce where Marineo got ANY of his ALLEGED college degrees...as even someone else said LONG AGO in one of their posts:
"If the company is discredited for perpetrating a securities fraud, how many machines do you think they will sell? How will the market react and how far will the pps fall? How many treatments will be performed if the company is embroiled in securities litigation?"
...besides which, RARELY have I posted anything to the effect that "the Calmare device may have no value or effectiveness"...
...on the other hand, what I HAVE posted -- FREQUENTLY -- is that NONE of the studies done so far have demonstrated superiority to EITHER a placebo OR to any other TENS device sufficient to meet the criteria required to gain third party reimbursement...and guess what?...it turned out I was RIGHT -- as demonstrated by the multiple links provided to multiple companies INCLUDING that one WONDERFUL detailed analysis and explanation provided by "regency" BC/BS that looked like it was practically plagiarized from my posts:
http://blue.regence.com/trgmedpol/medicine/med143.html
...why, it's almost like watching one's child take its first tiny steps......snifff!...
..."successful in sabotaging the company"???...deja vue all over again?...I could have swore I answered a similar complaint earlier with:
""I would say he has been very successful at sabotaging the company."????...oh, brother!...get real!...let's see, who all has pointed out more times than I can count about the Mayo Clinic, the dozen VA hospitals, the University of Wisconsin?...ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER was able to overrule all of them?...really?...
...and then there's Loprinzi, Smith, Campbell, D'Amato, Chalmers, Sheehan, and how many other docs?...ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER was able to overrule all of them?...really?...
...and then there were those marvelous television and radio news reports -- some of them nationwide, as I recall...ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER was able to overrule all of them?...really?...
...and I guess Medicare, Medicaid, and all those insurance company medical policy writers didn't bother to do a bit of original research -- they just read the comments of ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER ?...really?...
...and all those docs at ASCO that looked at CTTC's presentation?...they ALL ran home to look up on the internet what ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER had to say?...really?...
...and the FAILURE of all those successfully treated patients to post hardly ANYTHING positive on the pain forums while the negative/no effect patients apparently went out of their way to comment -- ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER managed all that?...really?...
...and, of course, it was that ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER that made the subjects of Smith's study NOT significantly reduce their opioid use and NOT report an significantly improved quality of life and that made him UNABLE to duplicate the results on other pain scales...really?...
...and I guess that one ANONYMOUS POSTER is somehow forcing Johnnie to not "authorize" Jean to release the names of whoever granted Marineo's ALLEGED advanced degrees...really?...
...and that ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER managed to do all that despite the device being able to produce a "91% reduction in pain scores with no toxicity" as per:

...really?...
...I could probably go on but -- REALLY?..."
...it is always best to err on the side of skepticism when cruising the internet...I pointed out in an earlier post, someone investigated one forum -- "physiciansforpatients.com" -- and it appeared as though the site might have been designed to be nothing more than a place where various aliases could promote sales of someone's products as well as a place to collect information from naive posters...you can't be too careful...
...some have, for example, complained about this CTTC forum post:
"Identify yourself and your credentials."????...well, I have a MD from Harvard and a PhD in neuroscience from Columbia...I'd love to share my name but I'm currently employed by the CIA and if I told you then I'm afraid I'd have to kill'ya...but if YOU or Stevie find ANY errors in my discussions of Marineo and the bugzapper, you be sure and point'em out..."
...saying it is misleading since it seems to imply the author actually had REAL degrees from Harvard and Columbia...although to me, the overall tone seems to indicate it is merely a sarcastic retort to someone else's question...
...however, either way it is interpreted DOESN'T MATTER, really, don't you see?...because -- as someone else SO graciously pointed out -- NO REASONABLE person would acept as fact ANYTHING ANY poster writes on an internet forum since one simply CANNOT tell how credible the source is......
...indeed, anymore can one can trust the statements coming from publicly traded firms -- online or otherwise?...
...CTTC, for example made all those references to "professor" Marineo and to "Marineo DSc" and to Maineo PhD"...skepticism deemed I investigate those assertions and don't you just know that I failed to find ANY evidence WHATSOEVER that Marineo had even attended college much less been a "professor" at any university or other institution of higher education...it's always best to err on the side of skepticism -- any "reasonable" person would...
..."I would say he has been very successful at sabotaging the company."????...oh, brother!...get real!...let's see, who all has pointed out more times than I can count about the Mayo Clinic, the dozen VA hospitals, the University of Wisconsin?...ONE ANONYMOUS POSTER was able to overrule all of them?...really?...

..."My point was, any educated and reasonable person would laugh at the author of such ridiculous statements about the Mayo Clinics."????...but they were from someone who said they had a "MD from Harvard and a PhD in neuroscience from Columbia" and who works for the CIA to boot!...how could you NOT believe them?!!!...
...oh, wait!...I see!...those came from an anonymous poster about whom you knew absolutely nothing and, consequently, you -- being a "reasonable person" -- exercised skepticism in your appraisal of their merit...is that about right?...
..."the comment "FAILS" the legal test of libel..."...kind of like Paul Orth "fails" the legal test of being an arbitrator, huh?...HAW!...remind me again how much that fiasco cost CTTC -- something north of $650,000?...$650,000???...YOUR shareholder equity at work???...HAW!...maybe someone should write a book, "How to Get RICH by Becoming an Attorney for CTTC"...HAW, HAW, HAW!!!...
..."Wow, Dr. Sheehan lists out several international clinics..."????...gee, looks like "physiciansforpatients.com" got taken down...yeah, I heard some suspicious things about that website:
"this is one of those sites that raises more questions in my mind than it answers:
Created on: 28-Oct-08 - using anonymous [domains by proxy]
registration - therefor, you have no way of knowing who the actual owner is, their address, or contact information...
...ask yourself: how comfortable are you with an outfit that from jump street doesn't reveal who they are corporately - whose onsite contact information is the same as the galsk company [see below] and the street address appears to be a small house registered to a woman not listed on the websites pages...
...note: this a a <.com>, not a .org site>...on the site, there isn't any privacy code stipulated, no terms of use, or acceptable use policies - in other words, the 'true' owners, with any potential commercial interests they may have - can do anything in any way with the information that people post at least one of the 'testimonials' appears to be from a johnson & johnson rep, not a civilian user elsewhere on the site, they state:
"There is data to suggest that potential new treatments can be
identified through identifying trends in large pooled patient population information. Trends in treatments, side effects, and patient needs. Also, we anticipate recognition of important relationships that may appear to be anecdotal on a case to case basis; but clearly become significant if they occur with enough frequency in a large population. When possible, we will work with pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, and non-profits. The goal is to use this information to create drugs and treatments that meet the desires of the patients, with decreased key side effects, and increased effect."
...so - 'they' may create financial relationships based upon the info garnered from 'you' - guess what, that's known as an unpaid focus group, but you have no say in how any info is going to be used...for instance - when clinical trials are being set up, and they need patients to be in them, did you know that outfits get paid big bucks to 'find' those patients to participate?...
...seems to me that the structure of this site lends itself to such in the future all in all - hidden ownership, no privacy terms, no conditions on use of your/my info...
...now why am i so cautious? well, art kaminski [the head honcho of this site] - while an m.d., also runs galsk.com [Created on: 21-Feb-08], and import information sourcing company...seems to me that he's well versed on the 'selling information' biz...
...then there is: Paul Auerbach, MD, Chief Strategy Officer...his resume icludes - former venture partner with Delphi Ventures in Menlo Park, CA , as well as a previous senior corporate officer with KAI Pharmaceuticals, Sterling Healthcare Group, and dAmerica...
...and Holly Miller, MD - Chief Medical Officer with a long resume as: "senior clinical executive for information systems and technology responsible for the leadership and vision for the strategic planning, operations, integration and implementation of information systems and services" with very large hospital systems...
...not to mention that on the advisory board is Robert Epp - Chief of Staff for Microsoft’s US Online Advertising Sales...
...now to me this spells a great team for assembling information for commercial usage...'their' commercial use that is."
...wow!...who woulda thunk someone might create a "public" forum with a "hidden agenda"?...maybe the reason the site got taken down was some sort of complaint filed with the Federal Trade Commission -- ya'know, that agency that CTTC's new attorney is so familiar with...
...anyway, too bad for CTTC, huh?...Dr. Sheehan was proving to be a pretty good spokesperson for them...well, maybe he can find some other venue...
...and, in case you want to read it yourself, here is a LINK to the quote:
https://groups.google.com/group/alt.med.fibromyalgia/browse_thread/thread/436ab98b5bf9e2f2?hl=es
..."...appears to be libelous..."????...really?...how so?...let's look at it again:
"Loprinzi's 'trials' are NOTHING more than part of the CTTC 'pump' made to boost the stock price ahead of the secondary offering...the secondary offering which, no doubt, you'll be standing in line to buy shares...right?...?"
...first, is it false?...now, I presume you'll say, "why, yes, indeedy!"...right?....well, wrong...you see, there's no way to PROVE that it is EITHER true OR untrue...as opposed to saying someone has HIV, for example, when, in fact, they don't...in that case, you see, there are TESTS that can be run that will PROVE the assertion FALSE...someone simply "saying" it's false doesn't -- coment se'disez? -- "cut the mustard," don't ya'know?...
...second, public companies are basically screwed when it comes to libel to begin with...that's why you see libel cases from public companies about as often as you see someone suing the American Arbitrators Association in the middle of an arbitration hearing -- which, by the way, has, as best I can determine, happened only TWICE in WORLD HISTORY...
...the reason for that is libel against a public figure requires DEMONSTRATION that the comment was published with KNOWLEDGE that it was, IN FACT, false...now, whoever wrote that comment couldn't POSSIBLY have known whether it was, IN FACT, false...get it?...
...finally, comments regarding an issue of public concern also enjoy considerable protection...clearly, a health care device being marketed worldwide is a matter of "public concern" and comments regarding actions taken in promoting and marketing that device are quite well protected by the First Amendment...
...in other words, the comment "FAILS" the legal test of libel...
..."BTW, I cringed when I read it."?????...oh, me too!...me TOO!...I tell you:
"Here is the way is was explained to me:
Artificial neuron is a synthesized nerve impulse or action potential. This is what is created by the scrambler (Calmare). A series of synthetic action potentials carrying the "non-pain" message which is recognized by the brain. These are all transmitted via C-fbers(sic) which are the slow fibers for carrying information.
Hope it is helpful to you,
Jean

...why, clear as mud, Jean!...
...but in his last paper, at least Marineo finally figured out that if he stimulates a c-fiber, then the c-fiber ultimately stimulates a portion of the the brain that only knows how to say, "Ouch! Something HURTS!"...
...poor ol'Joe seems to have had the notion that nerves were like little telephone wires and that he could just dial in 1-800-NO-PAIN and everything would just suddenly feel better...too bad it's just a tad more complicated...
...and JUST IN CASE anyone thinks I'm fibbing in my quote, here's a LINK so ANYONE can check to make sure I'm not:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=65558304
..."Please post a link to support your inference that the CEO of CTTC will need to wear a prison uniform."????...uhhhhhhh...weren't YOU the one suggesting the possibility of "securities fraud":
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=66035296
...by the way, that was one of your best posts...
..."The lawsuit is based on the premise that there has been malicious interference with CTTC's business plan."????...so tell me to what extent has ANYONE "interfered" with THESE parts of CTTC's "business plan":
...with getting third party reimbursers to say they're going start paying for therapy?...or did they actually study the clinical data themselves and arrive at their own conclusions?...
...with D'Amato's opening any of those TEN ADDITIONAL clinics he promised DESPITE getting a federal GRANT of somewhere around $250,000 dollars...or did lack of third party reimbursement make opening more clinics not feasible?...
...with Chalmers opening only TWO of the ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY clinics CTTC announced he would open...even AFTER exposure on national television helping heal the lightning boy?...exactly how many of those multimillion viewers ever even heard of CTTC, much less read any posts about them or the bugzapper?...
...with the 46 machines that were supposed to be ordered for Wyoming and Colorado?...so you think two board certified anesthesiologists are going to listen to some anonymous internet poster in making their decision regarding a multimillion dollar purchse?...oh, wait!...I guess the anesthesiologists have been replaced by a gastroenterologist now, right?...hmmmm...yeah, those guys I don't know about...
...with the Clinuvel royalties that presumably were supposed to flowing into CTTC's bank account at some point in time but which seem to have simply disappeared...
...with CTTC's plan to team up with Gatti and Tor Vergata only to have them team up with the PBK-2C manufacturer instead?...or was there ever even a plan for something like that?...
...with GEOMC's telling everyone on their website that the bugzapper is available for "home use"?...did CTTC really plan on that?...
...with the sales CTTC made at ASCO?...I doubt internet posts affect oncologists' decisions to any extent...
...with the guy that replaced Smith changing the VCU trial?...I doubt that he cared what anyone on a stock forum said...
...with CTTC's "strategic marketing agreement" with "Bicom" to sell the "Magnetic Therapy DIATON"?...that one caught me completely off guard...
...with the CTTC's effort to get Marineo and the bugzapper out of the "deletionpedia"?...or does CTTC even know about that?...
...with CTTC's hiring an gas company to distribute bugzappers in Albania?...
...with editing of that paragraph in the last 10Q that makes it sound like CTTC has taken over worldwide sale and distribution THEMSELVES?...
...with CTTC's hiring as a distributor of their product a Utah real estate agent who previously been fined $50,000 as a stockbroker for attempting to manipulate the price of CTTC stock...before my time...
...with CTTC's hiring a real estate developer who helps manage a golf course as someone to direct sales of a medical device?...I only found out after the fact...
...with CTTC's allegedly hiring an attorney in Denver -- an attorney with a history of defending clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Colorado Attorney General, and the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department?...
...with CTTCs announcing where Marineo got ANY of his ALLEGED college degrees...HEAVEN FORBID!!!...
...and to accomplish it all in the face of all those positive testimonials, favorable news reports, positive journal articles, informative clinic websites, interviews with bugapper therapists, postive press releases, and not to mention those THOUSANDS of supportive commentaries by who knows how many different people on investors and other forums?...whew!...I dunno...I think that may be overestimating the power of a single anonymous poster...wouldn't you agree?...
..."All very true."???...so you agree with the part where he says:
"And as for GM and relevance? Because some say it is relevant does not make it so. I do not think it is relevant to my investment."
...really?...because I vaguely recall some sweet rants back when you emailed CTTC to identify the school that granted Marineo his ALLEGED degrees:
"Rrtz--- enjoy
I sent a number if emails to Jean and johnnie in which I asked for substantiation of marineo's phd.
The response I received from Jean is that she was told that the phd exists.
"I asked Jean who told her this info. She refused to tell me!
I asked the name of the institution which issued the degree.
She didn't know the answer. Johnnie has not yet responded directly to my emails.
Basically, Jean and johnnie appear to be hoping that I'll take their word for it. No need for details, just take our word for it."
...followed by:
"I am disgusted by cttc CEO John Johnson
There can be no reason as to why he has not responded to my emails.
Johnson, please resign."
...and this one should have nominated for a Pullitzer:
"And, specifically, I have no need to see the company to discuss Prof. M. at all because it is not germane to the success or failure of the Calmare treatments and, hence, future sales.
Really?
If the company is discredited for perpetrating a securities fraud, how many machines do you think they will sell? How will the market react and how far will the pps fall? How mant treatments will be performed if the company is embroiled in securities litigation?
I believe the machine works far beyond the parameters of a traditional tens device. I also believe that the mechanism is not yet understood.
For Jean and CEO Johnson to refuse to detail his credentials only invites more scrutiny.
Again, this is another example of johnson's lacking managerial abilities. I maintain that IMO he ought to be ousted. IMO, he is an old dottering man who is well past his prime. I talked with him via telephone and he struck me as one who might be suffering from some sort of dimentia. He rambled on and on without ever reaching his point. He talked at length about his long and storied career in ir without ever relating how that experience justified any of his recent decisions.
What possible reason could there be to withold the details of the alleged phd? If it's in an unrelated discipline, so what? If it was issued by a less than stellar institution, so what? But for Jean to tell me that she was told that the phd is genuine, and then go on to refuse to tell me who told her that the phd is genuine, is IMO, just Johnson pulling her strings from behind the curtain.
I hope the bod's reads this board and soon fires Johnson. His salary is totally out of scale for the size/revenues of the company."
...amen!...later on, ya'didn't have quite the pizzazz:
"Bioengineer?
That's some distance from phd or md
Would love to see the credentials in support of bioengineer."
...definitely a lot of potential in there -- keep up the good work!......
..."I care about your opinion on what you think is the most effective therapy..."???...well, it's gratifying that you have so much respect for me...unfortunately, my day job with the CIA required I sign a confidentiality document that restricts what I say otherwise face imprisonment...that wouldn't be so bad, but I worry I might find myself sharing a cell with Nano, Despo, or Johnnie...
..."So if what he said is true. He tried to get everyone to rely on his opinion because of his credentials."????..."if"?..."IF"...how rude!!...why of course it's true!...indeed, the WHOLE post:
"Identify yourself and your credentials."????...well, I have a MD from Harvard and a PhD in neuroscience from Columbia...I'd love to share my name but I'm currently employed by the CIA and if I told you then I'm afraid I'd have to kill'ya...but if YOU or Stevie find ANY errors in my discussions of Marineo and the bugzapper, you be sure and point'em out..."
...is true top to bottom!...SURELY, you believed I was employed by the CIA and couldn't reveal my identity because I'd have to "kill'ya"???...you DID believe that, DIDN'T you?...
...regardless, the IMPORTANT part of that post is where it says "if YOU or Stevie find ANY errors in my discussions of Marineo and the bugzapper, you be sure and point'em out..."..."Stevie" being D'Amato, for those unfamiliar with the discussion"...
...now, the FUNNY thing is that NEITHER "Stevie" NOR anyone else has YET to point out any errors in my discussions -- except, of course, to chide me over my pet name of "bugzapper"...I can only assume the reason being that I usually provide LINKS to back up everything I have to say...
..."It helps clarify ones thinking. After that, it seems like manipulation..."??????...so you assume that no one else in the world deserves help "clarifying" their "thinking" as well and that no one else is viewing the board?...you might consider whether other people might be passing through and whether what is a repeat to you is brand new to them...
..."How would you rank therapies for most patients needing chronic pain relief?"????...who cares?...for the purpose of CTTC's BUSINESS, what shareholders and investors should care MOST about is third party reimbursers pay for everything on that list and CTTC's product ISN'T on it...
..."But, I think we are due for a reminder about our newly retained counsel in CO."????...I dunno, do you need a reminder of those cases where he defended clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Colorado Attorney General and the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department?...for things like FALSE ADVERTISING and CONSUMER FRAUD?...
...hmmmmmm...I wonder if all those press releases and SEC filings calling Marineo a "professor" and giving him degrees that by now seems apparent he doesn't have would fall into any of those?...
...come on, Johnboy, tell us who gave Marineo his degree...or is it degrees this week?...HAW!...I hear orange overalls are coming back in style!...HAW!!...
..."So there is no 10-Q required by Feb 15 for the 4th Quarter of FY2011... just a 10-K for FY2011 due by Mar 31, is that it?"...regrettably, that's true...and I was sooooo looking forward to the revenue reports, too!...well, I guess patience IS a virtue, right?...
...by the way, my compliments on your comment:
"1. I don't believe that there is any indication that Dr. Raymond Taylor claimed to be an MD from Harvard or PhD from Columbia. Only rrtzmd, an anonymous poster, ever did that, if I understand correctly, so this note appears to be attempting to associate the one with the other, albeit indirectly.
2. If point 1 is correct, then the rest of the note is intended to be a discussion of an anonymous poster, rather than the defendant in a CTTC law suit..."
...so true, so true...so often, we forget that the purpose of this forum is to discuss matters related to the BUSINESS of CTTC...and, goodness knows, little things like maybe -- uhhhhh, oh, I dunno -- like someone maybe making "materially false and misleading statements" might have ALL SORTS of consequences in that respect...ahhhhhhh...I must admit at smiling at the thought of Nano, Despo, and Johnnie in orange jumpsuits doing the chain gang two-step as they're led into court...HAW!...
..."While seeking verification..."????...well, quoting a true genius:
2. If point 1 is correct, then the rest of the note is intended to be a discussion of an anonymous poster, rather than the defendant in a CTTC law suit..."
...but more to the point, "verification" of ANYONE else's credentials EXCEPT Marineo's is IRRELEVANT to CTTC's business -- right?...and this board -- OSTENSIBLY -- is supposed to be for discussing issues related to the company's BUSINESS -- right?...
...and since I'm sure no one here wants to see little ol'CTTC being dragged into court by the FTC or the SEC or the Colorado State Attorney General's office for making "materially false and misleading statements" that might have lead consumers and investors to part with their hard earned cash for something that wasn't all that it was made out to be, THEN discussing Marineo's credentials IS relevant to CTTC's future...oh, yes!...HIGHLY relevant!...just ask Johnnie if you don't believe me...
..."have manipulated patients into "thinking" that they are experienceing pain relief."?????...personally, I'm concerned more about how CTTC may "have manipulated patients into "thinking" that they" were getting treated by a highly complex machine capable of generating "scrambled" signals that could be transmitted along "artificial neurons" which was invented by a -- what did D'Amato call him, "world renown" -- "professor" at the University of Tor Vergata who was a "bioengineer" with a MD, DSc, PhD...
...and who were so impressed, in consequence, that they were willing to shuck out $1,000-$2,000 for treatment only to be severely disappointed when they ultimately found themselves no better and couldn't get their money back...they might even be more disappointed if they were now to suddenly find out the inventor was a FRAUD who only CLAIMED to be a "professor" and who only CLAIMED to have various advanced degrees and who actually was NOTHING more than an electronics repairman living in a little blue shack with a pretty red tile roof...
....and "Gumshoe Investigations"????...but the thing is, why does anyone NEED "gumshoe investigations" to find out where Marineo got ANY of his ALLEGED advanced degrees?...WHY is that such a difficult question to answer?...
..."This is pretty impressive."????...yeah, ain't the placebo effect wonderful?...oh, wait!...I guess I can't say that since they didn't bother to RANDOMIZE, BLIND, and CONTROL their experiment...so, consequently, NO CONCLUSIONS can be drawn!...
...oh, well, maybe I shouldn't say that...after all, in his first paper Joe managed to eliminate nearly all the pain in 11 cancer patients -- including THREE with pancreatic cancer -- to the extent that NINE of them no longer reqiested analgesics and TWO of them GREATLY REDUCED their request for analgesic...I would think that cancer pain would be as severe as back pain -- especially pain from pancreatic cancer...30% versus something around 90%?????...I dunno but I suspect Joe himself would probably call that an abject failure...and likely attribute it to the lack of a weekend seminar in the proper use of the device...
..."because he has his name on some papers, that validates him"???...no indeedy...it's the PATTERN, don't you see?...the PATTERN of papers spread the way they are SUPPOSED to be when one REALLY attends graduate school and REALLY has a thesis advisor and REALLY writes a thesis or dissertation...
...followed by the PATTERN of publications over THIRTY YEARS...which culminates in being appointed a "senior research scientist" at a MAJOR corporation...ALL of that "validates" him...
...as opposed to Larry Stooge who out of NOWHERE suddenly publishes an article with NO coauthors and giving a correspondence address that corresponds to his little blue shack with the pretty red tiles...
...AND who, in his FIRST article, alleges to have constructed -- with evidently with NO SUPPORT from any grant or other source of funds -- a machine that MIRACULOUSLY alleviates the pain of 11 cancer patients to the extent that after only TEN treatments, NINE patients stopped requesting analgesics altogether while TWO GREATLY REDUCED their intake of analgesics...and accomplishes this DESPITE three of the patients having pancreatic cancer -- a cancer that most would agree produces the worse pain possible of all cancers!...
...AND who then proceeds to produce two MORE papers within which he claims he can use a similar device to manipulate "entropy" to the extent that he can practically cure cirrhosis AND reverse the effects of aging!!...well, golly, gee whiz!!!...will MIRACLES never cease?!!!...
...and NOT ONLY that but manages in the midst of this frenzy of invention, to acquire a "MD,DSc"!!!...which only a few MONTHS later in a letter he sends to the Journal of Nutrition is TRANSFORMED into a "MD,PhD"!!...but which disappears for a few more papers only to rise AGAIN but as only a mere "PhD"...my, he must have a difficult time keeping his CV straight...
...and through ALL this, where is he?...at the same little blue SHACK with the pretty red tile roof...how quaint...
...now tack on that nowhere on his "deltard" site does he mention ANY degrees of ANY sort...plus Johnnie's evident EXTREME reluctance to "authorize" Jean to release the source of the ALLEGED "PhD"...and you see, a "pattern" emerges...to ME, THAT pattern says Marineo has NO advanced degrees...not only that, I'm pretty sure he's never even been to college!...and I THINK he works as some sort of electronics technician not too far from his little blue shack with the pretty red tiles...
...of course, the SIMPLE solution to the question is to SIMPLY release a copy of Marineo's CV...I can't imagine WHY that should be such a major issue...oh, wait!...come to think of it, yes I CAN!...HAW!!...
..."How do you account for...it's called" placebo effect""???...hmmmmmm...did you note the use of the phrase "how do YOU account"?...a question was posed to an anonymous poster who then expressed the opinion that THEY could account for it by the "placebo effect" -- a PERFECTLY VALID assertion since NO randomized, blinded, and appropriately controlled studies have been done sufficient to prove otherwise...
...and just in case you never took civics, the First Amendment of the Constitution protects BOTH internet anonymity AS WELL AS the freedom to express your opinion...ESPECIALLY when it's a fair comment on matters of public concern regarding a "public figure" such as an exchange listed company...
...however, it DOESN'T protect the use of "press releases, Internet postings, an elaborate Internet website, and televised media events to disseminate false and materially misleading information."...which could be significant to CTTC and its shareholders in the event that Marineo ISN'T really a professor and has NEVER BEEN a professor or that Marineo DOESN'T have ANY advanced degrees and has NEVER had any advanced degrees or that Marineo NEVER even graduated from college...
...if ANY of those are true then that new attorney from Denver that CTTC allegedly hired -- remember him, the one with all that experience with the FTC and Colorado Attorney General -- might come in real handy...
...and for anyone who wishes to verify the accuracy of the quote in my third paragraph, here is the LINK:
http://www.sec.gov/litigation/complaints/complr17283.htm
...oh, yes!...discovery HAS landed!...
...well, that wasn't none too impressive:
"Background:
Failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) is a condition of patients who have not had a successful outcome with back surgery and continue to experience back or leg pain following spine surgery. The treatment of FBSS includes, repeat surgery, nerve blocks, including epidural steroid injections, and other spine injections with or without various medications such as opioids and neuropathic pain medications in addition to physical therapy. Unfortunately, the pain relief is often inadequate regardless of the conventional therapies used.
Objective:
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of a new device called, “Scrambler Therapy” which is FDA cleared pain therapy medical device for alleviating pain.
Methods:
This protocol was approved by our institutional review board. Ten patients with FBSS were enrolled into this pilot study. After obtaining consent, baseline VAS of pain intensity was documented and the subjects were treated with ten sessions of scrambler therapy. Each session lasted for 60 minutes. Pain intensity was evaluated and for 12 weeks
Results:
The result of our study is summarized in the figure. There was about 28% pain reduction after 9 days of treatment which could be clinically significant for some patients.
Conclusions:
This is the first pilot study that demonstrates Scrambler Therapy appears to reduce pain in FBSS patients with no side effect. However, further studies with more subjects need to be done in order to investigate if this technology is indeed a novel treatment for this unfortunate group of patients.
Disclosure: The study was supported by the Dept. of Anesthesia, Univ. of Miami LM Miller School of Medicine. The equipment/
machine was donnated by Competitive Technologies, Inc."
...well, I guess it was nice of CTTC to DONATE the equipment...but for what purpose?...TEN patients...not blinded...not randomized...not controlled...I guess no subsequent follow-up -- "and for 12 weeks" stands out like a sore thumb -- so did they re-evaluate them at the end of 12 weeks?...what were the results...no monitoring analgesic use...no statistics...
...and a lousy 30% reduction in pain to boot?...what would Joe say?!...man, talk about a waste of time!...
...tsk, tsk...CTTC should be more picky about who they DONATE machines to...
...and the quote came from the first article:
http://www.painphysicianjournal.com/2011/september/2011;14;E465-E491.pdf
...and a thought just occurred to me while writng that last post...when anyone completes a PhD and/or a DSc, they almost INVARIABLY have some "beginners" papers from when they were working on their thesis and/or dissertation...Dr. Batie, for example, had this early paper probably from when he was working on his PhD which was co-authored most likely by his thesis adviser:
http://www.jbc.org/content/256/15/7756.full.pdf
...now go and try to find something similar for Marineo...7 years after telling some reporter that he NEVER CLAIMED to be a doctor, Marineo pops up out of NOWHERE publishing a paper with NO co-authors:
http://www.joplink.net/prev/200301/200301_24.pdf
...to be fair, he does NOT claim ANY degrees on that paper..he DOES, however, appear to claim affiliation with "Universita degli studi di Roma Tor Vergata" but gives the address of his little blue shack with the pretty tile roof...
...he also publishes with Marotta and Sisti:
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1196/annals.1297.107/abstract
...STILL no degrees claimed that I could find but STILL claiming association with Tor Vergata but giving his shack address for correspondence...
...and then I guess he got to feeling good about himself what with these two publications and all, and so he publishes YET ANOTHER paper in which he claims he can somehow reverse entropy with electric currents:
http://resources.metapress.com/pdf-preview.axd?code=x752j9732n720472&size=largest
...that's THREE publications in ONE year when he doesn't appear to have had ANY before...but there IS something NEW!...he has suddenly acquired a "MD, DSc":
http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.smj.org.sa/PDFFiles/Aug04/Delta20040158.pdf&sa=U&ei=IJg9T82xIcW_tgen3dS4BQ&ved=0CAQQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNHsAPgM1ZOD0kHnhY1VqM-zQEL1Rw
...well, I'm impressed!...it usually takes YEARS to get even ONE of them and suddenly he has BOTH!...
...and if THAT weren't enough, that SAME YEAR he writes a letter to the Journal of Nutrition:
http://www.nutritionj.com/content/3/1/9/comments
...well, would you look at that!...THREE MONTHS after his last paper and NOW he's a "Bioengineer" with a "MD, PhD"!...I guess the "MD,DSc" just didn't have enough "buzz" for him...
...awww, shucks...in 2005 it looks like he got demoted:
http://www.minervamedica.it/en/freedownload.php?cod=R02Y2005N07A0479
...no more MD...no DSc...no PhD...he isn't even lead author...and correspondence goes to Sabato...
...anyway, it stays like that for the next few papers and then:
http://cprcenters.com/pdf/Scrambler52-patientRCT_July2011_JPSM.pdf
...well, lookee there!...his PhD is back!...what, no MD?!...oh, well, maybe he just mislaid the thing...those sheepskins are slippery lil'devils, so I guess that could've happened...
...but seriously, I think CTTC's got some explaining to do because old'Joe just isn't lookin' like the "real thing," if you know what I mean...promoting the therapy and selling the machines telling everyone that would listen that was invented by -- what was it D'Amato called him? -- "world renown" "professor" with all sorts of degrees and promoting the therapy???...and then it turns out he ain't no "professor" and never has been...and he ain't got NONE of those degrees he claimed?...heck, he doesn't have any?????...my, my -- makes me wanna sing:
"Trouble ahead, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind."
..."I've never been able to confirm that Dr. Christopher J. Batie..."????...well let me help you out...first, a paper:
http://www.brimr.org/Roskoski/107.pdf
...note on page 2 where it says:
"...kindly provided by Dr. Christopher J. Batie, Louisiana State University Medical Center."
...also, here's his address and phone if you want to write or phone him about all those horrible comments he made about "MISTER" Marineo's paper:
http://www.whitepages.com/name/Christopher-J-Batie/Durham-NC/3i5riir
...you might be able to reach him at his new job:
http://www.syngenta.com/global/corporate/en/about-syngenta/Pages/about-syngenta.aspx
...where he is now "Senior Research Scientist":
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/christopher-batie/29/577/5b3
......and where he has gotten his name on quite a few patents:
http://www.patentbuddy.com/Inventor/Batie-Christopher-J/7217967
...while working in this division:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=3054+E.+Cornwallis+Rd.,+Durham,+NC,+27711&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x89acefeec148eacb:0x3c065b8c09376236,3054+E+Cornwallis+Rd,+Durham,+NC+27709&gl=us&ei=7ng9T8ycGsqWtweN8ZzgBQ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCAQ8gEwAA
...hmmmmmm...that sure beats a little blue shack with a pretty tile roof -- don't you agree?...
...and for those who don't know what we're talking about, DOCTOR Batie made some SEVERE comments about a paper written by CTTC's "star" inventor:
"I sure hope no one gives these folks any of their hard-earned $$. Grrr!! (Brief delay for gnashing of teeth and for suiting up as a physical biochemist)
Crackpots (and creationists .. flame away) often like to envoke entropy, perhaps because it is poorly understood by the general public and often is poorly taught.
I won't attempt a thorough critique of this mess, but even the definition of entropy, "Biological entropy is determined as the variation due to the conversion of food into energy (+/-) summed with the variation due to the metabolism (+)." is so strange it isn't close enough to real biochemistry to qualify as a
mistaken hypothesis, it is just wrong-headed.
Likewise, the description of the the magic box and its function is a slickly presented batch of buzz words and jargon taken from biology, biochemistry & computer sci/electronics. Unfortunately, it is meaningless.
It would take quite a while to dissect this critter & expose all its rotten parts. That, probably, would be a waste of bandwidth.
I hope y'all will trust someone from the rational/linear-thinking/non-alternative-therapy/science world. This guy doesn't know what s/he is talking about.
I'd suggest buying that plane ticket to Rome, but instead treat yourself to some therapeutic Italian cuisine & Renaissance art."
...HAW!!..."crackpot"..."mess"..."wrong-headed"..."rotten"..."waste of bandwidth"..."doesn't know what he's talking about"...why, the guy's almost as poetic as me!...maybe CTTC should hire ANOTHER lawyer to go sue HIM for libel!!...HAW, HAW, HAW!!!!...
...oh, no!!..wait!!...what'd he say -- "I sure hope no one gives these folks any of their hard-earned $$."????...quick!...someone!!!...does that qualify as "tortious interference"?!!!!...HAW!!!...
...oops!...almost forgot!...here's a LINK to that post if ANYONE wants to read it FOR THEMSELVES to make sure I'm NOT LYING:
http://groups.google.com/group/sci.med.aids/browse_thread/thread/36f7c9d8f14bf635/ff2b80dd3f40b29c?lnk=gst&q=marineo#ff2b80dd3f40b29c
...oops!...sorry about the duplication of posts but the first one was removed and AFTER I appealed I suddenly noticed I had misplaced an important link for understanding my first paragraph:
http://carersfordisablepeople.webs.com/apps/forums/topics/show/4018351-have-you-tried-calmare-treatment-?page=last
...should replace:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/joeygiggles/2012/01/20/rsd-and-you-show
...in the first paragraph...in the meantime, however, I wrote up and submitted a corrected version...if someone wishes to effect some sort of correction and delete the duplicate, feel free ...
...and I've yet to be able to confirm D'Amato's statement:
"You might also meet the world renowned Professor Giuseppe Marineo, University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy, who is the inventor of this device."
...which he posted here:
http://seekingalpha.com/article/200142-competitive-technologies-up-on-shareholder-meeting-pending-asco-presentation
...I'll ignore the gag reflex promoting assertion that Marineo is "world renowned" and focus on the implication that Marineo was, IN FACT, a professor at Tor Vergata...doesn't it sound like that?...yet I couldn't find him listed ANYWHERE on Tor Vergata's site:
http://web.uniroma2.it/modules.php?name=Search
...and I found no indication ANYWHERE on the web that he has EVER been employed as a "professor" there or ANYWHERE else for that matter...
...could a statement like D'Amato's be construed as "materially misleading" IF Marineo had NEVER been a professor ANYWHERE?...if so then patients COULD HAVE been misled by any reference to Marineo as professor since that would promote Marineo's credibility and, in consequence, the credibility of the device...
...and CTTC sure calls Marineo "professor" a lot in their press releases and promotional materials...have they ever determined his TRUE employment history?...have they been "materially misleading" shareholders and potential investors?...
...and I see "discovery" has landed!...oh, yes!...the time has come!...
...yet another calmare failure????...my goodness, this guy was excited enough to start ask about it in his blog:
http://carersfordisablepeople.webs.com/apps/forums/topics/show/4018351-have-you-tried-calmare-treatment-?page=last

...I sure hope CTTC hasn't hired this guy as a "consultant"...
...oh, now really?...does anyone think this character ought to be representing CTTC's product:

...but I'm not willing to bet CTTC hasn't paid this guy as a "consultant"...
..."its $16M or so current market cap"????...16 million for a company with NO employees?...I think I'm correct in that assessment...after Despo left, CTTC contracted with Johhnie's company to provide management services...and everybody else associated with the company I presume work under some sort of contract?...and the only assets basically are a room full of bugzappers and they're probably spoken for by the factoring company?...but YOU think the company is worth 16 million dollars?...you big spender you!...
...aw, shucks!...I guess I'll have to put "maddiesgram" on the list of dissatisifed customers:
"Unfortunately, for me the pain relief was short-lived. It might help keep the pain down (from an 8 to a 2 or 3) for a few hours but a little while later I was back with my full-force RSD pain.
So, after 2 1/2 weeks we decided that the treatments were somewhat effective but too expensive and hard to get to to think of using daily. I would love to have one at home and get that relief long enough to go do some things! I don't know if it would continue to give relief on an on-going basis, and actually the relief that I got was better some days than others. Some days it felt like a waste of time. But, one day I went to Target and wanted to SKIP through the aisles and kick my feet up! (I did it in my mind-lol). Overall I felt no better at the end of the treatments that we did."
..."Overall I felt no better at the end of the treatments that we did."??????...and to think it only cost her $1500?...$2000?...
...and say what:
"The technician that put the electrodes on me and monitored how much power I could take and all was fairly nice and knew basically what he was taught at a weekend seminar. He was a physical therapist with an education before this."
...gee, all that complicated machinery and a physical therapist learned in a weekend seminar -- I'm impressed!...
..."Anyway, he told me that he had not had good results on RSD."???...I bet...I wonder if he told her whether he ever got good results with ANYTHING...
...you don't say:
"In fact he told me that people with back pain had responded the best overall and the further away from the body you got (toes!) the less it seemed to help. He didn't tell me this until right at the end of the "experiment"."
...people with "back pain"???..and here I thought it was for people with "neuropathic pain"...but he waited until the therapy was completed to tell her???...well, ain't that just convenient -- for the THERAPIST!...why, of course...surely he needed some sort of explanation for why she wasn't getting the miraculous results implied in Marineo's papers and in some of the ads by the bugzapper clinics!...
..."He did want me to know that they believed that it would be more effective if used at a pretty high rate of the current, so that's what we did."???...hmmmmm...I bet a 50,000 volt taser would have taken all her pain away right quick!...
..."So, it's a bummer when the pain comes back, if it does, as mine always did."???...que sera, sera!...
...the quotes are from:
http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/reflex-sympathetic-dystrophy-discussions/general-support/3246971-scrambler-therapy
..."I also want copies of the photos..."?????...nawwwww!...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- are some third party reimbursers saying they're going start paying for therapy...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is D'Amato's explanation for why he hasn't opened any of those TEN ADDITIONAL clinics he promised DESPITE getting a federal GRANT of somewhere around $250,000 dollars...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is to know why Chalmers has opened only TWO of the ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY clinics CTTC announced he would open...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is CTTC's explanation of what happened to those clinics that were SUPPOSED to be opening in Wyoming and Colorado and that were SUPPOSED to be ordering 46 machines...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is to know what happened to Clinuvel royalties that presumably were supposed to flowing into CTTC's bank account at some point in time...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is someone to explain why Gatti and Tor Vergata teamed up with the PBK-2C manufacturer instead of with CTTC?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is GEOMC's explanation for telling everyone on their website that the bugzapper is available for "home use"?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is the guy that replaced Smith is to explain why they changed the VCU trial?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- to find out why no one has apparently put in any effort to get Marineo and the bugzapper out of the "deletionpedia"?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is CTTC to explain why they hired an gas company to distribute bugzappers in Albania?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is clarification of the true meaning of that paragraph in the last 10Q that makes it sound like CTTC has taken over worldwide sale and distribution THEMSELVES?...
...what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is CTTC's justification for allegedly hiring an attorney in Denver -- an attorney with a history of defending clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Colorado Attorney General, and the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department?...
...and MOST OF ALL, believe it or not, what you want -- IF you're a shareholder -- is for CTTC to announce where Marineo got ANY of his ALLEGED college degrees...
..."Nothing has worked."????...of course not...and this "patient" responded to my original post:
"I've read your very negative comments on Calmare also on other sites related to CIPN.
If the Mayo Clinic and the Massey Cancer Center are doing clinical research with this new devise I can hardly believe it is nonsense.
So please stay of this blog entry, I'm not interested to hear about what you have to say."
...now that's the attitude I like to see!...she knew better than trust the comments of an anonymous poster who she didn't diddly about!...she did her research and then she decided the treatment worth a try...it worked for her and she went away a satisfied customer!...hurray!...
...although it's odd how in the nine months since, apparently NO ONE else has bothered to say anything else about the "calmare" nice or otherwise...well, except -- not unexpectedly -- the therapist:
http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69/topic/768806?page=1#idx_3
...which, by some odd coincidence, shows up the same month as that of the patient...isn't that interesting?...
..."PRECURSOR to more positive news."????...uhhhhhh...well, gee, it's only been available for what -- THREE YEARS:
http://www.competitivetech.net/news/091102.html
...so exactly how long does it take to get patients excited enough to start posting on the pain forums?...how many ASCO meetings do shareholders have to pay for finally convincing ONE oncologist SOMEWHERE to buy ONE...how many more YEARS before CTT accumulates enough RANDOMIZED, BLINDED, AND CONTROLLED studies that third part reimbursers will pay for therapy?...
...I mean, after all, most SHAREHOLDERS and INVESTORS kinda want to see a return on their investment at SOME point WITHIN their LIFETIME...but who's taking home the money now?...Johnnie, directors, lawyers...
...not to mention the "consultants"...what did that insurance consultant cost?...$75,000?...and got designated an "experimental device" with CPT code good ONLY for data collection...I offered -- for FREE -- a TENS code that's already available and that a clinic might have been able to use to collect upwards to $100 an hour...
..."Have you EVER spoken with any patients?"????...nope!...what patients say to me has no bearing on CTTC's revenues and profits...things like third party reimbursement and good propaganda via positive posts NOT associated with websites selling the therapy DO have a bearing...
...and given that the Colorado/Wyoming/California clinics appear defunct -- presuming they ever were "funct" in the first place -- and given that D'Amato hasn't YET opened anymore of the TEN clinics he promised and that Chalmers has opened only TWO out of the ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY that were SUPPOSED to be opened, one might reasonably assume the bugzapper is having difficulty performing enough miracles to attract clinic sustainable clientele...
...aw, shucks!...it looks like they closed down the "crps.physiciansforpatients" website:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://crps.physiciansforpatients.com/do/discussions/525
...too bad...I seem to recall a few people actually saying something nice about the bugzapper:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://crps.physiciansforpatients.com/do/discussions/525
...and Dr. Sheehan was saying such nice things there as well:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://crps.physiciansforpatients.com/norm90/comments/stace
...I wonder why they took it down?...maybe because it claimed to be "created by physicians" and wasn't?...I dunno...all I know is I'm going to have to revise my pain forum bugzapper survey and knock off a couple of points on the "positive" side...that takes the score now to something like 15-25 negative/no effect and 3-4 positive...doggone miracle painkillin' bugzappers just can't seem to get a break!...
..."we do not care about those clinics"????...you don't?...uhhhhh...those clinics represented sales of 46 machines...and you "don't care"?...really??????...you are most definitely a shareholder of a different color...
...anyway, then I guess you also don't care that the calmarett.com site also fails to list the "Sac office":
http://www.meetup.com/members/14880891/
...I can only presume that's because it's not there anymore, huh?...but you don't care, right?...
..."Both the Texas and Oklahoma locations..."????...but how about those locations in Colorado and Wyoming?...the ones up around where CTTC's alleged new attorney -- you know, the one with the history of defending clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Colorado Attorney General, and the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department over things like CONSUMER FRAUD and FALSE ADVERTISING -- comes from?...are they "certified"?...
...funny how no one else here seems interested in what happened to them there clinics...why aren't they on the calmarett website?...how did the two anesthesiologists there were originally "RMT" "principals" magically transform into a gastroenterologist...an inquiring mind want to know!...help me out here, won't ya'?... ..
..."Maco ignored rrtzmd..."???...why, I think that's just plain wonderful!...funny, she didn't say how much of the $2500 tab her insurance company picked up, did she?...oh, well, it's too bad such heartwarming stories aren't the kinda the things that make third party reimbursers open their wallets, huh?...
