I got a feeling that
Next week call option premiums are going to surprise on the upside and Interdigital shares are going to become very dear.
JMHO
MooseO
Just maybe?
The Call writers needed to keep the price down below $62.50 today for options expiration. While also getting the price down to mine cheap shares and then buying more back next week on the way up to cover their forward months of Calls they have written, just in case of a near term sale of the Interdigital? Just a thought.
My personal opinion is we are at or near the bottom today.
MooseO
Centerline old friend.
Nokia was always been a high volume, low end of the market manufacturer. They were a leader because they produced a lot of cheaper low end phones. I understand what you are saying, but IMO it is unwarranted. The world has moved ahead now and is asking for higher end products that do much more than make phone calls. So if these other manufacturers of higher end products want to sell better and higher tech products they are going to have to pay up for the tech to do it. IMO Interdigital is in a super good position right now. Yes, Interdigital may not receive what we believe to be the true value but it will still be much better than what we have been getting for many years. Like what has been said here many times now just get yourself comfortable with what you have in this investment and be patient.
Best to ya!

Your right. Sorry bout that, I read your post a little to quickly.
Little on edge right now. Again my apology.
Best to ya!

MMI was trading near $20 not $40 get your facts right EOM.
JDBJMB Great Video Thanks for posting it. EOM
Yes situps, you should sell now and beat the rush.

Yes, I'm not going to disagree with you about the final price, although I'D like to see $150 or better. Nobody here, including myself really knows IMO what the final price will be. I'm sure it will be above the current trading price of $64 a share LOL! My post was more about management dictating the price.
Best to ya

Eric
Let us not forget, for many years Interdigital had a $250.00 a share poison pill claus.

Goodbuddy
From my recollection of the past experience with these 3 companies with IDCC. Sometimes you take better care of your non litigation paying friends. It also doesn't mean they all couldn't have had the same deal IMO.
MooseO
Thanks WayHaw
I must have missed your article. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. After reading it I also had a thought of the valuation of a patent or patents could be what one company could keep Tech away from another company LOL!
MooseO
Data Rox
I understand what you are saying, but sense the market is pricing companies at this time by their IPR holdings. How should they or we be putting valuations on the patents? I don't beleive it is silly at this time and I realize it becomes more complicated to put value on a companies patent holdings. I would guess it would depend on the revenue stream they produce. But some patents may have more or less value to any particular company. So maybe thats were your silly comment comes from.

Jimlur
That Carl is a deal maker IMO. I don't think MMI was as desperate as has been stated in articles. But IMO I think Carl was desperate to get his money back LOL!
Thanks for your reply Jim
MooseO
Hey Ge Jim
Hows it going? You know I smell something here. Remember back when IDCC was threathened by an Indemnifier over CDMA patents. IDCC was basically told by the Indemnifier to cease and desist and stop pushing with the legal claims or the Indemnifier would stop them. IDCC pretty much did. We all thought the Idemnifier was Qualcom. Maybe it wasn't. There was talk of MOT being that Indemnifier too. But no one knew for sure. When I read the news about Carl pushing MMI I though I should buy some but I didn't LOL! Oh well. Boy, that deal went through fast. Good to see you posting.
MooseO
Thats alright.
I'd rather get news of a bid offer first anyway. No reason to have the price drove down after a bid is made IMO.
MooseO
Not so offen anymore. To hot now.
To many things falling apart or breaking on my body. LOL
But yes I do get out once in a while when its cooler.
My new more cushier adventures will be conducted in my motorhome.
How are you doing Bull?
MooseO
Yes, your right thanks.
Guess my mistreated brain isn't working so good LOL!
MooseO
Do we know the names of the other 2 companies besides GOOGLE that have approached IDCC with offers to buy the company?
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111904233404576457842513189166.html
Part of InterDigital's decision to explore a sale was spurred by Google's interest, and the two companies have been in touch in recent days, the people said.
A spokesman for A spokesman for King of Prussia, Pa.-based InterDigital declined to comment on Google's interest, but said the company's patents and engineering and licensing capabilities could be of value to several potential buyers. A Google representative declined to comment
Thanks

Nokia’s Handset Sales Slump May Cut Into $9 Billion Cash

Hey Rox. Just lurking around to see whats up. Been coming here for years just had nothing to say. Stay COOL!
Thanks for your reply and info.
MooseO
Jim. It sounds about the same as Scottrade.
MooseO
I would assume with DELL's history it might be a Chinese lowest bidder manufacturer.
Later
MooseO
Nope. Just another beautiful sunny day over in KOP.
They almost sucked me in again this morning, but I'm pretty cautious during a Bear Market.
I feel for my freinds here.
Sorry and Good Luck!
MooseO
Hey Jim
IMO I think the operators have been told by and or are waiting to see the outcome of Nokia's legal push to cut IPR rates.
I'm very happy Nokia is now tangled with Qualcom after losing 2G litigation to IDCC.
Gets Nokia off IDCCs back after Nokia's legal loss.
Qualcom litigation with Nokia will definitely get better media coverage here with better support from the American public and legal system than IDCC got.
I believe the European companies don't want to pay for 3G IPR in the long run and this is a last stand challenge to get the American 3G IPR companies out.
I think their efforts will be futile but these guys seem to be thick headed. They don't seem to understand the effects on the over all patent and IPR markets if they win.
Moose
Hum I guess I had not seen this before

Thats funny
Last time I looked Institutional ownership has rose to 34.8% and probably higher than that by now.
Buying is there but Institutions are being careful not to raise the share price. Its called accumulation.
Time will tell.
Moose
Laranger
I like your thinking.
If so maybe thats another reason for IDCC share price to be much higher.
Moose
So Ed
If IDCC's patents are invalidated. Then why couldn't Qualcoms patents be put in the same boat?
Let us not forget that Nokia IMO is trying to pull the samething with Qualcom.
Nokia in good faith, negotiated 2 and 3G licenses with IDCC. A legal contract that I might add was up held by the ICC arbitration board.
It is to bad that Nokia thought they could use their financial leverage to string IDCC along to make more legal problems for Ericsson.
Well the tables got turned on them didnt it?
Other IPR users have and are signing up with IDCC. They dont seem to be concerned.
Seems to me going to court to prove what you are saying is going to be pretty tough going for Nokia after what they tried to pull. I would think the court would ask Nokia why were IDCCs patents good when you negotiated a license and now today you say they need to be invalidated?
Most companies do DD and a test validity dont they before they sign an IPR license?
I dont believe Nokia would want to say well we only wanted to cause more legal problems for Ericsson and take out IDCC. Because I think thats the only answer they could give except Nokia doesnt want to pay anything for IPR. They just want to use it for a while for free LOL!
I still believe Nokia thought IDCC would be bankrupt by legal proceedings by now and gone away.
Now Nokia wants to take on Qualcom and they havent even won their case with IDCC yet LOL! What kinda vanity is that?
A no win situation IMO.
Moose
OT ART
Thank you very much. Your a good guy. I really appreciate it!

RE: You still do not get it
AMS there is no insult for your kind. You are overly arrogant. You lie. You try to mislead people. You think you are way smarter then what you truely are and think way to highly of yourself. I get the impression you are a very controling person to be around.
When its all said and done. Its not only what you think of yourself. Its also what others think of you. Ask around see what answers you get.
IMO a good ole butt kicking might put you back on course.
Its what we call an attitude ajustment.
But I'm sure just like a little sissy you'd just run away.
Have a nice day!
MooseO
WOW! Nice chart.
Moose
Thanks Data
I pretty well figured out there would be quit a list. I just thought you might narrow it a bit.
I understand that IDCC could go in any of the directions that you stated.
My own thoughts are that this management would maybe not like to be obligated to a license and would rather own their IPR tech. So if there was something out there on the cheap they might be tempted to go for it.
After all the last aqusition was a success now and all profit from here on out.
I also believe its not something they are looking into but something they are getting ready to do. Other wise why put it out there?
Thanks for your previous reply.
Moose
Data Rox
Okay what cheap companies are out there with a proven 2nd tier stack that IDCC could be talking to or looking at to aquire?
With patent litigation problems of coarse LOL!
Thanks
Moose
And this is why IDCC is a Publicily traded company?
IMO this doesn't seem right or fair at times to the general shareholders.
Don't worry just trust me. Great public discloser statement.
Moose
Ya Ranger
Its always Top Secert stuff at KOP. Thats why we've always had to go out on a limb and make guesses as to whats going on.
I understand what your saying about him but there must be more that, of coarse we don't know about LOL. But why would they keep him on as long as they have? Good question.
In any case its a done deal.
Moose
Ranger
Maybe he liked where and what he was doing. Didn't want the conflict of being under other management control. Sometimes that pressure can lead you away from creativity.
Just a thought don't know.

Jim Charts
I'd still just like to know the honest truth of why we lost Howard and Rip so abruptly. As far as I know, nothing about this has been told by the company and IMO is maybe very relevant to this investment. Maybe there was no reason but I can't believe that. Funny how when you bring it up and your attacked by others even if you are just joking around with it. Then noticed that other investors go into denial and don't want to know. LOL! Open, fair and balanced? I think not.

Can you give us some better unexaggerated straight forward numbers if you please? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Loop LOL! Imagine that, actually using a cell phone as a phone LOL!
I would be happy with just no dead areas or dropped calls for myself.
Its the times I guess. I hate getting old.
