Good Price Action Today post from Teecee on AB
we filled another box on the point and figure 19 [ie...new high]...we outperformed nazzy by almost 3%...on better than average volume...put a w in the win column
More analysis needed here on IHub like this instead of all the petty personal comments
OT If your oven wasn't so full of bricks then you could cook food in it eom
I'll be there too. The Crowne Plaza is the old Holiday Inn, near the shopping center. We've never met there.
Maybe Uncle Billy was offered Blecker's job at QTL before IDCC made a move to retain him. IMHO and imagination
Kort's Bio which probably explains his mentality. I wrote a letter of protest to Gartner's public relations.
Todd Kort, principal analyst in Gartner Dataquest's Computer Systems and Peripherals Group, comes online to talk about the HP-Compaq merger. Kort covers the personal computer industry, focusing on PDAs and Web terminals. He has worked in analytical positions within the computer industry since 1983. Before joining Gartner, he spent three years at Compaq as manager of worldwide market intelligence. He has managed the market research function at The NPD Group/INTELECT, Ashton-Tate Corp., and Future Computing. In addition, he managed the computer R&D group of Tokyo-based Citizen for eight years.
Corp-Buyer It was my impression that this ruling gave the arbitration panel access to parts of the PSJ that they felt were pertinent to the arbitration only. Now that the evidence phase of the arbitration is complete, why does this appeal still matter?
TIA
I have to admit you had me caught too. Close enough to my perceived truth to enable me to read into it what I wanted to. Tick tick tick
I know this has probably been discussed but what is the latest date that the results of the arbitration will be announced. I'm trying to set some sort of mental timeframe.
TIA
Although I try to stay positive here,I am feeling frustrated. Overall I feel confident but we really need some good news
I feel your pain. I, too, have been waiting much longer than I thought I would have too but what else would you have them do. It appears they have a strategy and are patiently executing it. In my heart, I feel Nokia's strategy is simply one of delaying the inevitable hoping their recalcitrance will trigger frustration and a hasty settlement. It's dirty business.
Nokia could've set a rate at any time, and probably much more favorable than they'll get now, during the ERICY trial. They took a risk and now they're gonna get burned while looking really foolish.
Anybody see Oily on Squak Box this morning?eom
jaykay, I'm in West Chester, PA close to Wilmington Delaware not NC.
jaykay, I don't live far from Wilmington, DE and could drive there Thursday if it could be of help. You would have to school me on what to ask for.
I don't want to come off like an IDCC stalker but there were more cars in their parking lot than usual for a Saturday afternoon.
Your drum has a hole in it. You're a phoney. eom
I am sick of sixteen! Let's go IDCC! eom
Volume has been up the past two days. Hopefully the share price will follow
still no volume eom
I need to go back to school and study my Latin eom
Malko's translation to the best of my memory goes something like: In the heart of the city, goes the one legged king.
But the pit bull's teeth are lawsuits. How many can you afford to fight at one time? I hope for news too if only to stop the whining on this board.
OT teecee's posting on the Raging Bull Club Board
http://ragingbull.lycos.com/mboard/boards.cgi?board=CLB00004
OT: I guess Teecee was serious about challenging Curtis Martin for the Jets tailback slot since I haven't seen hide nor hair of him. I assume he's sequestered in training camp without internet access.
Thanks Jim. Ed uses his knowledge only to correct or vilify others. I'd be interested in why he sees IDCC as an investment. Seems like a smart guy with a troubled soul.
Does Samsung have a symbol?eom
No trades yet. eom
OT Anyone here ever hear of Timing Cube, which is a trend timing model. i have a friend who is trying to interest me in it and I don't want to take the time to explore if someone already knows about it. TIA
great post(s) thank you eom
I'm sure it takes time for the IDCC auditors to go through Sanyo's books and figures to account what they get paid for and when. I wouldn't think Sanyo would open those books for a close read before a signed contract. Am I off base?
Oh Eddie, you name-dropper you! Are you invested in IDCC?
Amen amen amen you're speaking the truth IMO Nokia is cooked. After MOT, I don't think IDCC would ever write an ambiguous contract ever again. That decision was painful for IDCC. They were right, MOT was using their tech, but the courts, per-Markman ruled against IDCC.
I am sure NOK was the best deal they could get. At the time it saved their butt, but I'm sure they wrote it right. Once burnt, twice shy.
L shay then spoke about Corporaye Goverence and how IDCC was ahead of the curve
Gary Issacs from Human Resources spoke about compensation. Discussed RSU vs. options and how management is alligned with shareholders because of performanced based incentives. Required minimum levelof ownership for management team Harry has to and already owns 4 times his salary. Others have to be 1,2,or 3 times.
Q&A nuggets
Kiernan: 3G mobile has been a foges. Buy Sanyo phones BTW."
Harry: "All economic discussions have a non-disclosure agreement before even beginning."
Howard: "The term economic can mean a lot of things depending on the situation. Economic is a meaningful phrase. It is a milestone."
Merritt(In response to is NEC pissed off that LG isn't paying): "We're vigilant. These companies don't like to see us." IMO, he sounded like Bush saying he's gonna get the terrorists.
Merritt(On Sanyo) : "R. Fagan is working out the number details." " This agreement fits in with our goal of building CDMA2000 lisences."
Harry on Sanyo: "It's complicated how the money gets reported. We're working on it."
Howard: "We're doing well in terms of the rates we're getting. We've been exceeding our earlier goals.
Harry(in response to LU fast track time frame): "It won't be Ericcson. A fair prediction will be under 2 years."
Howard: (My paraphrase:)We're being more selective about which patents to file and where we file them. We're going to target certain areas and file patents there,
Okat that's pretty much it. There were others there who will fill this in later.
ASM I have to type fast Mother in Law had a srtroke and I have to go so excuse typos. Everyone on management team and most of board were there. Tastykakes and soft pretzels for everyone.
Everyone above seemed to exude confidence this year versus optomism last year. Comments made made me feel that they are resolved to get theirs. Harry said afterwards that "they're using our technology to make money, and some of that money belongs to our shareholders" He also said that some companies view us asa tax but we're not going to let them go.
Roath got 89% of 53 million shares voted (96%)
harry spoke about the need for appropriate compensation
Then Howard talked a little strategy which include without specifics new technologies being developed for the long-term , he reemphasized "long-term' and said IDCC continues to look for assets or entities to acquire mentioning Tantivy (with the accent on tan if you're interested) Tommorrow results are todays investments and all that stuff
Howard talked about the development of a complete 3G end to end solution delivered to Nokia in 2003 and how IDCC is in the Infineon stack delivered to Wawei(sp)
He then said they are pursuing an FDD HSDPA semiconductor partner and they are offering attractive capabilities to consumers
He continued to speak about the commercial development and diversification of the smart antenna
200 million in R&D over last 4 years while remaining debt free on balance sheet
Recurring royalties in 2004 already more than entire 2001
# of patents up 579% since 2001
$100 invested in IDCC in 2001 now worth $313, same amount with the big Q = $82
He said they have a unique business model with proven ability to monetize invention and make creative business relationships. More to follow
Thanks Jim, Much appreciated. eom
OT What is this? Junior High? Teecee is knowledgeable, funny, a straight shooter and he likes this stock. He has earned the right to question a poster who bashes IDCC through a redundant monotonous negative message. Besides not tolerating fools gladly, he posts valuable, reasoned information. You should try the latter sometime.
How do you know it is non-essential? TIA eom
You're the best Loop. Good luck. eom
because by the time NOK is finished, LU will justhave thepaperwork started
Teecee and all, Any thoughts on how this day may end based on trading to this point? TIA
Dear Mr.Ed, Can't work around the patents though; can you?
but no ever heard of a talkin' horse...
unless of course
