Best part about the PR today:
It validates what some folks who have done actual DD have confirmed on their own. That it's possible to have a cool water solution in Death Valley Junction. Something Dennis Fisher knew well over a year ago.
It also showed many bashers, new and old, for what they are. Hopefully, we've all kept our own tabs on those folks.
Word to the wise: make sure you're doing your actual research outside of a discussion board. There's plenty of places online to check facts outside of a forum.
Those investing for the long-term will be rewarded greatly. Looking forward to a green year in the desert and my brokerage account
My opinion.
Tubes ahead of schedule... Nice.
That's my brothers account. Ban him if you want to, but I didn't post anything that violates any of the rules.
I don't understand what that has to do with me. Check my post history - it's clean.
Can someone tell me why I got banned? My last post said "LOL...post of the year!"
Not understanding what the deal is...
I totally agree. I have spoken to them directly several times though. Just interested in comparing notes.
Totally up to you, but you've got my email if you want to use it.
Thanks jjlamber - great pics.
Found it especially interesting that one of your posts indicated that the water - after sitting few a few days - was still cool.
Appreciate the DD. Nothing like photographic evidence to back up progress made.
Thanks again.
Beastie
The new tubing will need to be sterilized, but as they PR'd in an earlier release, the sterilization process has been reduced from weeks to days.
Not sure about the current harvest, and what it's uses will be...
Can you direct us to a list of the 45 big companies serving the Omega 3 market?
And also tell us how many of those companies are producing pure omega 3 oil with EPA/DHA, instead of contaminated fish oil?
Some actual DD would be great.
Think it's funny how all the people come out of the woodwork bashing the cooling mechanism that BEHL has been developing/testing for years now.
- Let's not forget that when Dennis snapped those pictures of Death Valley Junction in Q1 of 2009, he stated that there would be a liquid aquifier below the surface. (in the ibox)
- Let's not forget that the PBR in SJC had a "lower tank" (or liquid aquifier) for cooling - housed inside the building. (in the ibox)
This plan has been in motion for quite some time, and it's been present at every stage of development.
And now our client (who has seen more than any of us EVER will) is putting down a lot of money because he believes that it'll work.
Money talks.
Don't worry about posting for this guy. All you need to do is check his 5-post history to see why he's here.
Great - a "biotech friend" ... just give me their name and I can look them up on google.
Call BEHL like I did - they'll give you the name of the two strains they were deciding between when I last spoke to them.
Next.
Here's how it works. Certain strains of algae can grow in various climates and water conditions.
Also, there are many strains of algae that produce Omega 3 oil. So, the oil that is yielded in the cold water, can also be yielded in the barren desert.
Out of the multitude of strains available to us, we've chosen the ones that yield the most in desert conditions.
WHY?
Because that's where we're putting our PBR.
WHY?
Because that's where it was most advantageous for us to do so, for many reasons (financial, environmental, etc).
So, if your cold water fishies wanted some omega 3 to warm them up, we could feed them with our desert-produced omega 3.
Got it - thanks.
Where did this come from? Can't find it anywhere.
Kind of nice that way, is it?
I agree, Ray.
Some are down much on their initial investment, but the fact remains that BEHL is building a viable company.
- VARs are signing to resell the technology,
- clients are signing to be a part of the industry,
- we're negotiating with UC Berkley,
- our first commercial project is underway.
How much longer do you think that we'll be at a $6 million dollar market cap?
There are companies who are deep in debt with no immediate plans to commercialize that are at a much higher cap. The multi-industry algae world is increasing its demand every day....
- for food
- for fuel
- for feed
- for supplements
... and we've got a proven leader at the helm.
Our time is coming very soon.
KathyDoll - This stock has consistently held a market cap of right around $6M.
Not sure if you're aware, but there was a 50% increase in A/S yesterday (filed on June 2nd).
In my opinion this new level is representative of a 1.5B A/S instead of a 1B A/S.
We held .006 w/ 1B A/S = Market Cap of $6M
Now @ .004 w/ 1.5B A/S = Market Cap of $6M
I'm not happy about the SP either, but there is a strong indication to be made that the share restructure is built in, and fundamentally we're at our bottom.
My opinion.
Food for thought...
First ... bdubble - I don't know what you're referring to by saying BEHL made us aware that they'd be doing "this." Not sure what you mean by "this."
That said, I agree with the other parts of what you're saying.
I've done my own DD, and spoken with - at one point or another - all the BEHL executives. I can speak confidently that Brian is running the show, and is working very hard to make the company profitable as soon as possible. This is shown through:
- system improvements
- cost reductions
- new alliances
... all of which he has directly affected in his 60 days on the job. He's very busy doing the hands on work to improve what is already a competitive advantage in the industry.
I hope he speaks - literally - in the very near future to investors. I'll tell you as someone who has been lucky enough to speak with him on the phone, he is THE guy you want leading this company.
And there is no question he is leading. I'll share a few of the meaningful quotes from my notes I took during our conversation in subsequent posts.
Call me a pumper if you'd like, but pumpers sell at some point. I have not.
Go BEHL.
I'm with you, bud.
It is true BG. And I agree that shareholders need to hear from Brian himself, but let me tell you that Brian is the one calling the shots.
I spoke to Brian about a month ago, among many other things, I asked him about leaving Sapphire, and followed it up with "why BioCentric?"
His answer was this: "Some of our biggest so-called "algae producing" companies are ten years from getting out of the lab. There are very few companies in the world that are actually making algae, and BioCentric is setting up to be the first in the photosynthetic wave of producers. There's money to be made now, so we're going to make it."
I know the share structure thing is stinging man, but Goodall has been here for 2 months. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Fisher is also not the one calling the shots. Fisher teed up the deal with RWE, and the Lonestar College deal. Goodall came in, lent some credibility, and now we're dealing with UC Berkley, and a different energy partner.
He's out making this all happen, and the less pressure he's under to produce PRs, the more time he has to focus on building the business. He even mentioned that very topic it in the In Touch newsletter he sent.
prsch3259, you're right. that is where their focus is right now. as it should be. because producing the product feeds every part of the business. share price included.
frank also said that with the projects they have going on - and the stage of the projects - they are on pace to be profitable before the end of the year.
It did a bit for me.
There's still sting, no doubt. But the fundamentals always win out, and our bottom for market cap has been at $6 million for the past year, regardless of share structure.
Even at a maxed out 1.5 billion, that would put the bottom at .004
We're not far from it.
Right on, khesanh.
And in fact, Frank said that all BEHL employees have stock options to a certain degree. Obviously the officers have more, but each employee has incentive to make the company succeed. Frank made a point to say even the lowest paid person at BEHL has stock options.
It is being built the right way.
I spoke to Frank Rawson today.
A few things to share, but literally have to run out of the office here for a meeting I'm late for, so I'll make it brief for now...
150,000,000 of the new shares are for employee options. Meaning restricted shares for new employees.
Franks own current restricted shares are released at a rate of 20% a year over 5 years. Those shares are already accounted for in the O/S. His first option for his own shares kicks in at the end of this year, but he won't get that 20% unless he achieves his main objectives for the year.
One of those objectives is uplisting.
More later... have to run.
Worked just great for me!
Great article, too.
Yes, that's the way I read it. They can sterilize with a lower level of CO2, but tried the higher concentration to see how quickly they could sterilize.
They've already cut the time down from weeks to days, so I imagine that they were seeing just how quickly they could accomplish sterilization - fastest route to sterilize without hindering the system. Seems as though they found out.
They're writing the manuals for this as we speak - all the gloom and doom people have been posting seems to be what the clear heads have been saying for weeks.
"They're testing the system."
My opinion.
Me too.
June 1st to June 11th = 10 days
(not working days)
Wow - you're good. Couple follow up questions.
- What strain of algae are you producing?
- How do you harvest when turbidity reaches critical mass?
- I assume you're keeping this contaminant-free. Please explain how.
- How do you monitor temperature?
- What's the extraction method you're using to get to the oil?
Thanks in advance.
Nice find seatrade. Maybe we'll need a furnace instead of a cooling system
Interesting post.
I hadn't seen an illustration of the actual science and makeup of an algae battery before. Makes sense on a lot of levels.
Right Avaritia. And there are plenty of companies that sell industrial liquid cooling systems. You'd be amazed at how many different kinds there are, too.
To your point, all enclosed.
Banyon - this was put in writing. In a previous PR.
Greeny - Great DD as usual.
Thank you.
Performance. Great point.... performance DOES count.
In the past two years there have been three significant algae fuel powered events.
1. Virgin Airlines Algae Fuel Flight
2. Continental Airlines Algae Fuel Flight
3. Algae Powered Prius trip across the United States
Dr. Brian Goodall either participated on, or lead the teams that created the algae fuel for each of these events.
He performed for them, now he's performing for us.
I do think they've got their eyes on a very big prize. Seems like all winter we sat here worried about all the algae companies that could beat us to the punch and commercialize.
And yet, it seems like we're the first out of the gate with the most robust and rapid plan for expansion and growth. Really fun.
No one is breaking ground on such a large algae endeavor for such a small price. We've got a large advantage for the foreseeable future and are prepping the ground for the first ten acres.
"I love it when a plan comes together."
Can the person who just PM'd me jump on email please? I don't have PM.
Dr. Goodall said in the shareholder letter that once the first ten acres is down the plan is to use that as the "cookie cutter."
$6.9 Million cookies will taste just fine to me :)
So, if it's 12 gallons per acre, per day, that's 3,600 gallons per year (based on 300 day up-time).
Dennis said that he could sell a gallon of omega 3 oil for $192.
3600 gallons a year X $192/gallon = $691,200 of revenue per acre/per year.
Nearly $6.9 million/year in revenues for the first project. Not including the biomass sales.
For one project.
